I had a dead battery and AAA sent Hamner Towing over with diagnostics and replacement batteries. The technician was a nice, down to earth guy who explained how the diagnostics checked various things. He'd didn't try to dupe me (he didn't know that a degree and 15 years experience in automotive engineering). He stuck around after replacing the failed almost 8 year old GM original equipment battery and phoned in to another great guy for some questions about the fuel system reseting itself after the battery was changed. The fuels system wasn't recalibrating as expected so I was advised to stop by their shop. When I did stop by, the senior tech got the problem (dirty throttle body injector after 110,000 miles) resolved in half the time they estimated. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. A few months I had broken down the side of the freeway and called to get a tow and they sent their driver to come pick me up. When i asked over the phone, the operator said their rate was about $12 a mile. When the driver arrived he told me it was going to be $150 for the tow to my house which was strange because the tow was only going to be about 5 miles. The math didnt seem right so i told him to tow me to the nearest gas station which was less than a mile away. He said that tow would cost 110. I told him to forget about the tow because he was scamming me. He told me that either i get the tow from him or he calls CHP and they will come fine me $200 dollars for causing a hazard on the freeway since i was partially blocking 1 lane. I didnt have a choice. Reluctantly i let him tow me to my house. When we arrived I told him he was a con artist and a terrible person for taking advantage of a college student who was in a tight spot and barley has money to begin with. He tried to fight me and threatened me. Luckily i got away from him. This is the worst tow company iv ever experienced. Dont use them. There are way better options out there. read more

Dispatch was really nice although he under quoted me and didn't explain that I would be charged from the time that the call went to the tow truck guy instead of from when he arrived. It took the driver 45min to get there so there was my extra cost. The driver was really nice and polite, service was great.. the price is just what killed this review. read more

I spent over $1,800.00 in repairs having U-Joints replaced as well as having the rear end on my 94K5 Blazer re-built. I had this vehicle in 4 additional times because the noise I had originally complained about continued to persist after the repairs were completed. I finally gave up and just learned to live with the distraction even though it constantly pissed me off thinking of the money I through down the drain. I had my vehicle in for a steering box replacement at another shop this week and they alerted me to the fact that both of my U-Joints were missing the snap clips that are vital to holding the U-Joints in place. I was informed that it was just pure luck that I had not lost my drive shaft because of this mistake. Low and behold, since the U-Joints have been replaced properly, the noise that has caused me such grief has been alleviated. Needless to say I am completely dissatisfied with the service I received from Hamner Towing. read more

In May, 2103 I called AAA for a dead battery and Hamner Towing came out. Ryan arrived in 20 minutes and tested my battery and found out it was dead. He informed me that his tester registered a low cell battery and in order to get the battery replaced I needed to get a slow charge done and retest the battery. He said Hamner could do that. So I took it down to Hamner Towing service dept and they did the slow charge and retested it - it was still bad. So, they replaced it in a jiffy and had me on my way at no charge for the battery charging and retest. Everyone was great that I talked to in the office and the service dept as well as my driver, Ryan. It's funny, but a month later they hired me to work here! It's a small world! read more

It is very refreshing these days, to be provided with good service. I am writing to express fantastic service from Hamner Towing. Last week, my wife and I were headed for a weekend of camping with our large travel trailer. Along the way, our tow vehicle decided to quit running. It was rush hour on I-15 north in Corona CA, and it was hot, well into the 90's. We immediately called AAA, and arranged towing service. Promptly we got a call from Louis Sharples of "Hamner Towing" in Corona. Louis asked some questions and said he would try to find someone that might be able to look at our vehicle on a Friday afternoon. A very short time passed and he called back to say that no one was available. We then realized we would have to be towed the 70 miles back home to Vista, CA. Even with heavy traffic, Louis appeared with his beautiful tow rig to rescue us. Louis could not have been more professional and courteous. He took extreme steps to make sure we were comfortable, and also displayed great care for our pickup and travel trailer. Even though our weekend plans were shot, we really enjoyed our ride back home in Hamner's brand new Peterbuilt "Heavy Hauler" tow truck. And, I have to add that Louis is an excellent driver, and handles that big truck with precision. Oh, and as if all that's not enough, since that day I've been looking for one of my favorite hats. The folks and service at Hamner Towing are EXCELLENT. We stopped to get gas before heading to the beach this morning and my battery died at the gas pump. I tried jumping it myself and had no luck since it was completely dead. I called AAA and they dispatched Alejandro from Hamner Towing, who arrived very quickly. Alejandro was super cool, ran a quick diagnostic test, confirmed the battery needed to be replaced and then jumped started the car. While Alejandro was working, I told him I was going to head straight to Pep Boys to buy a new battery and then go home to install it. He saved the day by letting me know he could replace my battery right then and there and at a cheaper price than Pep Boys, with a 3 year warranty. I immediately said yes!! He grabbed a brand new battery from his truck, installed it in within minutes and got us back on the road to the beach. Alejandro and Hamner Towing truly saved our day today. Without their excellent service I would have had to cancel our plans in order to go buy a new battery and install it myself at home. Thank you Alejando, I appreciate what you did for us today. On September 21, 2015 I called AAA Roadside Assistance for battery support. Hamner Towing responded to the call and technician number 101746 conducted the battery and system check. The system check yielded a bad battery in the print out report, however the technician indicated that the vehicle's electrical system was bad. He gave me a jump and I went back to work. Once at work the car would not start and I called AAA for a tow to AAA mechanic. By the time the tow truck was available and the vehicle was delivered to the service station at 4:00 pm, it was too late for the technician to assess or work on the vehicle. The next day the mechanic called confirming the original report that the battery was bad and needed replacement. The unwillingness or lack of training from the service technician from Hamner Towing to change out the battery that was still under warranty cost me valuable time, but he also added the cost of a car rental. Our family relies on the customer care that AAA provides and this incident has caused a serious lack of trust in the reliability of service. read more

Ray J driver 081 is the best. He was professional, experienced, and skilled with a flatbed. He towed my 95 Toyota Supra show car twice. He plopped it right in my garage from his flatbed, when it was not even running. Just about any other driver would not have been capable of doing this without damaging my car. I live in Marina Del Rey and was visiting a friend in Riverside when my car stalled out. I called AAA and Hamner towing was dispatched to take care of me. Jermaine was my tow truck driver and he could not have been more courteous and professional. He took my car and me back to the Westside of LA and made me feel comfortable and like I was taking a long ride with a friend rather than a driver in a tow truck. If you have any choice in tow trucks, I solidly recommend this place and Jermaine. Definitely the best tow company I have dealt with in at least ten years (and I have a 2002 car so I've been towed a few times as she's gotten older). Well as we've all been there, you're having a good Saturday, running errands, stopping by to see family and then it happens. You get back in your truck ready to head to Miguel's Jr. for a burrito. You put your truck into drive and...? Nothing but the end to your happy Saturday vibes. I can't get my truck to change or go into gear. I'm stranded. So I call AAA and they send out the tow truck. Hamner Towing got to me very quickly and Michael Patron had nothing but a smile and great attitude toward my predicament. You see, I had pulled up onto the apron of my grandson's driveway right behind his garage (which is a condo no no). Anyway, Michael proceeded to handle all of the hurdles regarding the position, location, and the fact the truck wouldn't change gears with professionalism and personality! And it was COLD! My mom and i were trying to get back inside to sign paperwork and the man responding to our concerns of damage (previous and new) must've thought otherwise since we were questioning him and been in fight or flight as he proceeded to tell us as we were reaching for the door that "thats not necessary im the owner of this building and business blah blah" guys... us walking into the establishment to finish off paperwork.. was "not necessary." i let him know our intention and once he confirmed with one of the ladies inside that we were finishing paperwork he went back to normal. The attitude was just nasty. I understand starting a business is difficult sir congratulations i promise we're proud on this end!! But we really aren't concerned for it. We come here for our cars. Paying with limbs to get them back. Idc if u ur momma or granny towed the car we just came to handle it. Not necessary to let the authoritative position get to u! *heart* ive seen many of the responses and not much accountability though. AAA dispatched a technician who told us we had the incorrect battery in a 2 yr old vehicle. We tried to charge the battery to see if it drained again. When it did charge we contacted AAA again. Steve's towing sent out a knowledgeable technician who confirmed we had the correct battery but did need a new one. Unfortunately he didn't have the battery we needed on hand . We needed one with at least 800 agm. Hamner was dispatched again and the technician tried really hard to sell us a battery with less needed capacity. He kept telling us it was cheaper and he had it with him. We declined. I was able to confirm after , that we made the right decision and should not put a battery less than required 800 agm for our vehicle. What a horrible experience for a technician especially one dispatched by AAA to try to take advantage of someone just to make a quick buck or meet a quota. read more

Without going into details, I had a reverse situation taking place today. My vehicle (a classic Fiat) being removed from a mechanic facility to into my garage in Corona. The dispatch lady was very kind and very polite. Kept me updated about the driver's where-abouts. The tow truck driver (Richard) was really nice. One of the nicest persons one could ever meet! I had dealt with Hamner Towing before on problems with my Toyota Camry (dead battery/ would not start), They were called in through AAA. I have let my AAA membership lapse - mistake.
