I dropped my dress off first week of February and 2 weeks later I came to pick it up and it wasn't ready for another few hours. The total for getting my dress hemmed was $80. It was a silk dress, not anything super thick or crazy. I also dry clean my work blazer, which costs about $20 and takes a week to get done. Another place I use to go to on Colonial only charges $8 for dry cleaning. The prices here are definitely higher than the average, almost double. I pay for the convenience because I am walking distance from the tailor, but if you are looking for average prices I would recommend another place.

When I got there to pick them up on the weekend, the place was closed. They had a sign in the window stating they would be closed Monday and Tuesday. So, I went to Egypt without the nice clothing I had set aside to get pressed since the flight was leaving Tuesday. When I got back, my white shirt was stained and the bottoms of the clothes were wrinkled. I assume it's because they were in the bag so long. Next I brought back shawl I got from Egypt. I got the cloth caught in the door. I wanted the hole dawned and covered by a flower shaped patch. If I knew that I would get such childlike stitching, I would not have wasted $16 to get this done. One stitch per petal and another stitch in the middle. These were iron on flowers and they did not even get ironed. It was so haphazard that I showed the tailer that the one petal was already off. She just said don't worry. It will stay. The entire edge of the flower was loose. I just paid and left. This woman looked me in my face as if she could not see that this was poor quality work. These are beautiful patches and a beautiful garment. I could not have been more disappointed. UGH....

The seamstress pulled the fabric, and sewed it on the side to make it tighter to the waist; however, as the seam traveled down the skirt, it was bunched up where she stopped sewing creating an unnatural gathering of the fabric. This was the second adjustment as the first try was even worse. Looking at the overall job, you would easily conclude someone just learning to sew completed the work as the threads were hanging inside the skirt and it clearly did not look like a professional sewing job. I will take my skirt elsewhere to be completed by a professional. Absolute total waste of time and money.
