I recently went here to get a bridesmaid dress tailored. They did a good job, but they do take a while to get your clothes ready. I dropped my dress off first week of February and 2 weeks later I came to pick it up and it wasn't ready for another few hours. The total for getting my dress hemmed was $80. It was a silk dress, not anything super thick or crazy. I also dry clean my work blazer, which costs about $20 and takes a week to get done. Another place I use to go to on Colonial only charges $8 for dry cleaning. The prices here are definitely higher than the average, almost double. I pay for the convenience because I am walking distance from the tailor, but if you are looking for average prices I would recommend another place. read more

This review may be long, but it's necessary to explain how this business operates and my experiences with them. If you want a quick view, pictures speak for themselves... First, a little background about myself to provide perspective. I am a husband and father, with a credit score of around 820+ for many decades, reflecting my financial responsibility. I have been working in Fortune 500 companies in insurance and banking (with some consulting) for the past 30 years, living in cities all over the United States. These jobs require business attire as the main dress code. I recently moved to Orlando and was looking for a local tailor. I have been working with tailors for suits and business clothing for all these years. My longest relationship with a master tailor lasted over 10 years until he retired in his 80s. He then recommended a friend who was also very good, and I stayed with him for many years before moving to Florida. I have owned suits costing from a few hundred dollars to over a thousand dollars. I understand quality, and price has never been an issue for me if the quality is there. For example, I own several Alden shoes that have lasted over 20 years, even though they cost $600+ per pair when I was on a starting salary. Quality is more cost-effective than buying cheaper shoes every year. I understand good professional relationships, ethics, and trust. My lawyer has been with me since my 20s, my mechanic since I was 16, and I have good friends from kindergarten and Sunday school to this day. Bottom line: I understand quality, value, and ethics very well. In my experience with tailors, I have NEVER asked about the price first; I always focused on fitting the suit to my body. I did the same with Toan Doan of Elegant Custom Tailors and Cleaners, as well as some other local tailors. Price was an afterthought. I started asking several local Orlando tailors for fittings and alterations to find the best one in the area. Elegant Cleaners and Tailors was one of them. Before diving into details, here's some background on this business from public records anyone can find. Elegant Cleaners and Tailors is owned by TDOAN.LLC, a Florida limited liability corporation owned by Toan Hee Doan and Hoang T. Nguyen. Toan Hee Doan also owns HUNG'S CUSTOM TAILOR SHOP, INC. at 643 N. Mills Ave in Orlando, with Kevin M. Boerner listed as the VP. Before Elegant Tailors and Cleaners, Toan and Hoang owned MAGIC MASTER TAILOR, INC. from 2003 until it was dissolved in 2013. In 2014, TDOAN.LLC was created, leading to the establishment of Elegant Tailors and Cleaners. Toan seems to outsource the cleaning side of the business. 1st Job: March 21, 2024 I had a wedding to attend and a brand new suit with real working buttons (surgeon cuffs). The shoulders fit well, but the rest needed alterations. We discussed fitting the entire suit and pants. No price was discussed; quality was my priority. Toan fitted it, marked what he needed, and gave me a couple of weeks to pick up. When I picked it up, the suit was better, but not taken in as requested. At the wedding, I noticed the pants were uncomfortable. Upon returning, I informed Toan that the back seam was off by over an inch. First red flag: Toan showed me his pants, which had the same issue! He tried upselling additional alterations for better fit at extra cost, despite the initial goal being a complete fitting. The original cost was $298, the highest I've ever paid for fitting an off-the-rack suit. Despite this, the suit was never properly taken in, and some issues were only partially fixed. 2nd Job: April 15, 2024 (2nd Chance) I gave Toan a pair of travel pants to alter the waist and length. He upsold taking in the legs as well. The cost was $74.55. The waist was good, but the legs were too thin and didn't break on my shoes properly. His suggestion was poorly executed. 3rd Job: May 10, 2024 (3rd Strike) For my final chance, I brought in a full canvas jacket by Oxxford Clothes. The blazer fit well; I just wanted the waist taken in. Toan suggested taking in the shoulders, a higher-skilled job. He quoted $191.70. When I picked it up, the jacket was tight, and the sleeves were too short. One sleeve lining was not sewn together. Toan admitted the sleeves shortened because he took in the shoulders, a basic tailoring principle he failed to account for. He tried to charge me $45 for fixing his mistake. After much argument, he told me to never come back. Toan seems to believe he deserves top-notch pricing with no mistakes after one fitting. However, he charges the highest prices but delivers the poorest quality, with unethical business practices. Many other tailors in the area offer better quality, prices, and ethics. Great work at a great price! I received a dress the night before I needed to wear it and it was a little too big. I messaged several tailors through yelp after 11pm and Mr. Doan answered less than 15 minutes later with a simple "bring it over". I received messages from 2 other tailors with disclaimers that I needed to be there as soon as they open and one even told me it would be an additional 20% fee for "rush work". I arrived at Elegant Tailor & Cleaners at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Doan looked at the dress, did some quick measurements & said "what time do you need it?". I told him by 3pm he said "ok, see you at 3". I arrived back to his shop around 2:45, my dress was done and if fit perfectly. The best part of all of this was the price. I was full expecting to pay some ridiculous amount for this perfect same day work and I didn't. He did awesome work at a fair price and now he has a new customer. I bragged about him to everyone at my event later that night becuase I was really in shock at the quality or work done quickly and affordably. read more

I took in my wedding dress and another dress for alterations. The prices are reasonable and the owner is super nice and helpful. He measures and adjusts alterations as needed. Service is fast and you tell them when you need it and they will get it done! I told my bridesmaid to come here and they all have had good experiences! They also do dry cleaning! Ask for their prices! The shop is located directly across from the courthouse in the same shopping center as Dunkin' Donuts. You can easily find street parking one street before you reach the shop. Well, I got in contact with Toan and the jacket is now hanging in my closet instead of the dump! I showed up at his shop, wore the jacket for a couple minutes to show him the problem areas, and that was it. He didn't need to measure. One week later - after his magic - the jacket was like a second skin. He frankly blew my mind with his craftsmanship. He completely salvaged the jacket and made it look amazing on me. ALTERATIONS: I brought in one bridesmaid dress that needed alterations to its bodice. Thankfully, it fit nicely for the wedding I was in. The other bridesmaid dress must have been designed for 5'10" models. Needs to say, it was too long for me, and I needed the layers hemmed. They were able to hem the round shaped layer. I found that the price for the quality of work was so worth it. DRY CLEANING: Also reasonably priced with a quick turn around time. The one downside is that parking is limited to street parking, so try to avoid the rush hour or peak travel time. Super friendly and fast. I sent a message on Yelp on Thursday asking if same-day alternations would be able to be made on a pair of jeans if I dropped them off on Friday morning. I received a response not even 20 minutes later from Toan saying that they could and to please come over. I dropped the pair of jeans off at 10am on Friday morning, and they were ready by 12pm. It was roughly $42 ($52 with tip) to do the alterations and keep the original hem, but there was no same-day or rush fee and it was definitely worth it for the service. read more

So moving over from Waterford months ago, I have been to many alteration/ dry cleaners to no avail, to the point where when I visited south Florida I would just do it there. Until I came here. When I first came here I thought I found an incredible tailor, I moved to Orlando recently and so I've been looking. The first pair of pants I got were incredible lay tailored. I went back for a second time, and brought a true vintage skirt from 1940 in great condition minus a small hole at the bottom of the hem. I asked for it to be repaired. For reference, the skirt went past my knees prior to being altered and was roughly 25 inches long. When I picked it up I'll admit I was in a rush and didn't try it on, but even if I had it would have been too late as the alteration would have already been made. The skirt is now 17" long - a full eight inches shorter. I'm never coming back here for any service and I'm just completely distraught. It fits like a mini skirt and I can't bend over or do anything in this skirt. This was one of my favorite pieces of clothing and I wouldn't have ever brought it to be altered if I knew 8 inches were going to be cut off. It's completely unwearable and I've honestly been crying about it all morning. Do not bring anything here- maybe getting pants hemmed, but nothing else. Go somewhere else.
