The Hampshire Dome is wicked cool!! We went here today for the annual camper and RV show and It was our first time at the dome. The place is huge, and really futuristic looking. Inside - a track, a field for sports, with artificial turf. A snack bar, and more. The space here is great and handled the crowd with no problem. From the website it looks like many sports teams use the space regularly. This would be a awesome place for a night event or food event. read more

Great place to go for a run in their massive indoor track. It did take me about 15 minutes to get the attention of the front desk worker, but after that it was a good experience. No one was in the track, however if you want to use the turf fields that you will need to rent, because when I went there were multiple sports teams practicing on the turf fields. All and all a great experience and a great track! read more

This is a pretty cool place to go to in the winter when you can't play soccer or softball or football outside. There is a track around the fields. I can't understand why they didn't build this place big enough so that you can move the goals away from the fields while kids are playing flag football on the fields. During flag football season there is really only room for that, totally packed out all day. Games are running clocks and about 45 minutes or so, we organized and run but admittedly even after watching a year of games i wasn't really sure of all of the rules as most kids seemed to be confused as well. There were two teams in the U16 league this past year that was totally out of control bullies. Someone needs to oversee the flag football league a little better to avoid bullies and the games getting out of control. read more

History

Established in 2004.

Hampshire Hills Athletic Club first opened in 1973. In 2004 Hampshire Hills expanded and added an additional world class facility in the Hampshire Dome where they host everything from Pop Warner football to NCAA sanctioned college games. Concerts, track meets, expositions, boating and camping shows, soccer and lacrosse camps can be found at The Dome. The Hampshire Dome is home to the only full field indoor golf range in New England, the only quarter mile indoor bike and roller blade track, and the longest and fastest indoor running track in New England. The acclaimed Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning center is now housed at the Hampshire Dome too.

The first, is that no matter WHAT time of day or day of year I am at HH, they just cannot get the Wi-Fi situation under control. It never works properly. Either it's super slow, can't connect, lags after a few mins, kicks you off, etc. for the price tag, they should be doing whatever it takes to get this stuff sorted. If Planet Fitness can get it done for 9.99 a month, HH can for over a hundred!!! The other, is that the class times don't make too much sense to me. I understand why some of the classes more dedicated to seniors are midday, and I know there are some wealthy towns nearby where people may not have to work- but how about classes at a normal time of morning or evening? Not 5:00 am, but how about at 6:30-7:30? And then more classes that people who work 9-5 (or whose spouses do, in my case) can make? Otherwise, the facility is pretty nice, and there's anything you could want and then some for fitness options.

There just hasn't been a review of the Curtis Hall Community Center in quite a while, and I thought it would be helpful to update. I'm training for a triathlon and needed an affordable place to swim 1-2 times a week. I I've gone swimming here a couple of times and I'm very happy with the swimming facilities. The locker room is.. a locker room. It seems well maintained and clean, which is all I can really ask for. The showers do turn off approximately every 30 seconds or so, but it's not a huge problem. The pool is 25 yards, and there are three lanes. I've only been in the early morning, but the most people I've seen at the pool at one time is 9 (3 per lane) and that worked out just fine. The gentleman who works at the front desk in the morning is friendly, and very helpful. He allowed me to try out the pool a couple of times before joining, which was really nice. The cost to join is $30 a year and there is a $2 per use cost for the pool. However, you can buy a card that gives you 7 uses for $10 -- well worth it if you ask me. I have no problem paying to help to support a community center. I will take a look at the rest of the facility one day when I'm not in a rush to get to work.

Not a lot to see hear unless you a with a team that uses it to practice an outdoor sport in the winter. It's a little musty and seems like it was built in the 1970's even though it's less than 10 years old. Plenty of parking. Hampshire hills is great, I just don't think this place adds a lot. read more
