Sadly disappointing since we drove 45 minutes to come here. We decided to have some ice cream first but after being told the person should be here in about 10-15 minutes so we hit a small bucket of balls to pass the time. The loaner clubs are horribly bad. When we finished the ice cream was still closed. We promised our son mini-golf so we left and went to Sullivan Farms only 5 minutes down the road. (Great ice cream and friendly staff) We came back to do the mini-golf. They have a great layout and fun design but the water features were off and the greens torn in multiple places on each hole. Not to mention there was 2 women with 2 children using it as a playground. One ran right up and took 2 of our golf ball's. The woman took her time to collect her child and give us the balls back but never apologized. Not sure why they were letting them run around like that. But no one from the place did anything. We won't be back.... Seems like there is a lot that needs improving for the mini golf and for the range I suggest having your own clubs. The only upside was the looks of the bumper boats and batting cages... I wasn't spending more money to try it so only basing that off the looks of them. read more

Max's was pretty basic, but still a lot of fun! 18 mini golf holes. You actually got to walk through the cave with the waterfall! There were baby goats which were insanely cute and bunnies. You can walk the path around the waterfall or avoid it around the back. $12 a person. You couldn't choose your club length or type. read more

The Four Stars is mostly for the bumper boats (bring a towel!) and the reasonably priced ice cream stand. The mini golf course is uninspired and many of the "greens" are fraying. It was a $100 day for myself and three grandkids--2 children and one teen, as we bought combo tickets and had ice cream afterwards. (P.S. Went at 9:20 pm for an ice cream. online and on the website it states they close at 10. Me and a few other people arrived there and the workers let us sit there for about 5 min looking at the flavors and not telling us they were closed. very unprofessional young workers who ended the night 30 min early. ridiculous. Once being told they were closed, which was a lie they ignored the customers and shut the window. do not recommend, they don't work the hours noted on the website and close early on a saturday. read more

We figured lets have a safe outing with face masks, brought my clorox wipes, ect to have a safe social distance mini golf day. Let's just say my family and I weren't treated with respect here (the patrons especially) and I will never return to this place in this or the next lifetime. We had the worst experience in decades and this place is supposed to bring joy to people's lives, far from hitting the mark. We had such a great time at Max's. It is a great family activity with so much to do. The farm animals are a great touch... we got to see baby goats and bunnies. The holes are creative and unlike any we have played. Definitely one of my favorite mini golf courses! The staff were very friendly. I highly recommend. read more

We went to Max's 5/1/21. Mini golf was good although a bit expensive at $33 for 2 adults and 1 child. My daughter did 75 softball pitches in the batting cages for $8. They only have slow pitch for softball which was a bit of a disappointment but we knew that before we bought tokens. Finished up with 2 kiddie ice cream cones at $4 each. I ordered 'Heath bar crunch' as listed on the menu. Took my first bite and noticed coffee flavor ice cream. Went back to the window and was told that is the flavor - 'coffee Heath bar crunch'. If that is the case then it needs to be clearly indicated on the menu. No indication of coffee flavor. There was no offer to replace my order. read more

I remember the glory days of Max's- maybe 1997, it was the place back then, now not so much. Showed up to hit a pre round bucket and whoa what happened? I washed my hands in the bathroom which was a filthy mess, no way can they look me in the eye and say that bathroom floor has been cleaned within the calendar year. Then for 10 bucks I got a bucket of beat on balls, many with almost no dimples on them! The mats have been whooped on big time, just worn out. I'm all set with this place. read more

I've driven by here a million times and always wondered if it was any good. Took my nephews here, and they LOVED it. (They are 9 and 11). We went on a Saturday morning at like 9, when it opened. No one was there. We played mini-golf and it was pretty good. Interesting holes, the boys had a blast. Ugh - with the exception of the dead chipmunk found on the hole with the huge valley. I think that filled up with water and the poor guy drowned. We all thought it was gross, but entertaining because they are boys and gross things are fun. We joked as we saw other people play and waiting for them to scream. The boys liked the live goats and live rabbits we saw - no kidding - they have them on the course there. It's funny. - After that we did bumper boats. It was just us but the boys loved it. Then we did a small bucket of balls at the driving range - they had fun trying to hit targets I pointed out and offered dollar bills if they hit any (thankfully they always missed). - The ice cream stand was not open which was disappointing to them. We got candy and a drink from the machines which kept them happy. They got a big kick out of the whole place. read more

Driving range: Solid place to go & fine-tune your game. Can get busy/loud, so if you're a serious golfer, you may not love it. For a casual golfer like myself, it's a nice place. Also, being more family-oriented, beginners can go with no real pressure. Big drawback for me is there seems to be a shortage of one type of tee (Drawing a blank on which height, for the sake of my point I'll say mid-height tees). Most of the tees are either just above the rough, or high tees set for a driver. Makes working with woods a little frustrating if you can't find one of the few properly-sized tees. Batting Cage: Honestly just weird. Pitches are somehow inconsistent, I think I could draw a 3-2 count just by putting in a token and watching 5 pitches. Medium-low cages frequently bounce on or before the plate, and faster cages come in high and away to righties (went with a friend who bats lefty and the machine drilled him in the back. Pitches have a weird arc to them, medium cages are pretty much a 12-6 curve, and fast cages have a consistent arc that shouldn't happen at that speed. Expect a lot of pop-ups going in with a decent swing. Fun for casual hacks & competitions w friends. Not so much if you're looking to get a productive practice in. read more

If you need to get away from it all and have some fun, Max's Country Golf is where to go. It's location is perfect, right at the MA/NH border on a main road. Parking is awesome, there are a ton of spots, I have never seen it packed. Max's Country Golf offers batting cages, a driving range, mini golf and an ice cream stand. Prices at the ice cream stand aren't bad for what you get. I'm a huge fan of the driving range and have been there many times. You have the choice of the size of bucket you want small, large and jumbo, $6, $8 and $10 respectively. It's a pretty nice range goes all the way to 250 ft. OH!! and if you didn't bring your own clubs that's fine, it's free to borrow clubs!!!!! I am a huge fan of Max's and will be a loyal customer as long as they are open!!!! read more

This is our favorite local mini golf place, and my son wanted his 10th birthday party here which was a huge hit! We did bumper boats and mini golf, and there was a nice big field for them to play cops and robbers while we waited for all the kids to arrive. We had a tented picnic table area to ourselves and were able to order pizza delivery. Birthday parties are so expensive nowadays but this was very affordable compared to past years parties I've done. The staff was great with the kids and so accommodating!!! I hope he asks for this again next year :) read more

Great fun. Great food. Great price. Great service. If you couldn't already tell, Max's is great. I visited Max's with my kids one day to go mini golfing. From the outside, it looked okay, but when you went inside, it was like a whole other world. Waterfalls. Magical trees shading the course. Caves. Bears. Farms. Hills. Bridges leading from one waterfall to another. Absolutely gorgeous. Whenever my kids and I visit other golf courses, they're almost always dry, sunny, hot, sweaty, and boring. But this one was just magic. And, to make things better, the golf experience was challenging and fun filled. My kids liked to wash off their golf putts in the waterfalls, stick their hands in, and at one course, take a ride down the golf slide perfectly fit for children to go down. So fun! And to finish it all off, you get to say goodbye to your golf ball as it descends down a tube into the river and and have a delicious ice cream cone. And it's all affordable- not a lot of crowds. It's just amazing! I recommend going here at once. Your kids will adore it. read more

When are you going to actually spend the money and get legitimate batting cages that work? What's there works if they're maintained. I shouldn't have to put money in and have it jam and have to run into the building after 3 balls to keep getting people to come out and feed them. To add to this, why on earth do the balls get thrown to the ground... I had an urge to go mini golfing and Max's was open in November till 5! We were the only ones there when we went on a weekday at 3pm. There are 18 holes and it's eleven dollars to play a round. It's nice to go at this time because apparently during the summer, you usually have to wait at each hole for your turn. Nope not this time. Yes it would have been cooler to see the water running and have the ice cream stand open. In the summer, they would have bumper boats too. Overall, I enjoyed have the place to ourselves. This review is for a birthday party we had for my son at Max's. When we were arrived, we were directed to the tents to set up our stuff and they helped with the cake to be put in the fridge until later. Then we got tokens for the bumper boats and mini golf. The kids chose to do bumper boats first and they had a blast. We were hoping for a private session of bumper boats but they let another family in and it was fine. The kids had a great time...all through the mini-golf they were raving about the boats and how they wished they could go again. Mini golf is a challenging sport...and a lot tougher than it seems...but most of the holes at Max's are pretty straightforward...and the kids ended up getting a few hole-in-ones...so they were super happy about it. My son, the birthday-boy had two holes in ones... couldn't ask for a better round! I pretended to keep scores and some of the kids sincerely kept telling me their shots on each hole...after about 10th hole...they all stopped counting! The farm animals are a nice touch. We had a few lost golf balls...but luckily I had already taken a few extras...so we were able to keep going. We had arranged for pizza to be delivered right around when the kids would be done with mini golf but there was a delay so we decided to get some ice cream first. The kids didn't mind! :-) Max's was kind enough to throw in an extra round on the bumper boats for the kids for the inconvenience with the pizza...and the kids absolutely loved it. Second time around they knew exactly what to do with the boats...so they had a blast on the boats and got soaking wet! Pizza arrived just in time as the kids were filing out of the bumper boats. Top that all off with some birthday cake and it was the perfect birthday party for my son. Thank you Max's! read more

I went to Max's to play Mini golf recently. First, the good. The attendant where we paid was pleasant. The waterfall coming down the mountain is pretty cool. Also, the live goats were a nice touch. Also, $11 per adult is very reasonable compared to others. Now, the bad. This course is REALLY lame!. Almost every hole is very basic with no interesting features. At most Mini golf courses, the first hole or 2 is pretty simple. At Max's, all but a couple are very simple holes. In fact, when I previewed the hole, I kept thinking, 'is this all there is to this hole?'. Also, there was debris all over the greens. Heck, can't they sweep off the debris once a month? read more

I visited Max's last night with 9 family members for a fun night of mini golf for my niece's birthday. My first impression was "what a nice looking place." As we started golfing we slowly realized the place was INFESTED with bugs. Yes, INFESTED. Millions of tiny flying nats or whatever they were, were in our eyes, in our ears, in my mouth, stuck in our hair, going up the legs of our jeans, and completely stuck to our skin and clothing. When I arrived home an hour later I was still picking bugs out of my hair. It was disgusting. When you looked up at the lights you could see millions of them. In addition, the ground was completely infested and covered with tiny ants. EVERYWHERE. Well we made it to HOLE 6 and had to call it a night and leave. I absolutely do not understand why this place isn't closed due to this infestation. I wonder why the owner has not exterminated this place. And I wonder why the Health Dept. would allow this. Although they gave us all rain checks, I highly doubt I would ever go there again. read more
