So, pretty good for a Hampton Inn, with a few hiccups. We stayed here for 3 nights in a king bedroom suite. We arrived at 3PM, which is check in time, and our room was not ready. Our room was not ready until 5:30. As we had just flown in from Florida, I really wanted to go to the room and change out of our travel clothing, but that was not an option. Our first afternoon in Deadwood was effectively ruined as there was nowhere to leave our bags and change clothing. The hotel was recently remodeled, so our rooms were very nice, and the mattresses were comfortable. The shower was fine although the water temperature fluctuated, and it was impossible to find the exact point that wasn't either too hot or too cold. The whole hotel vibrated constantly, which made a bunch of appliances in the room rattle or even make weirder noises. I had to leave the microwave door open because closed, the rattling was too loud for the kids to sleep. Breakfasts in the breakfast room were typical Hampton and quite good (for being free). Very friendly staff. Waffle machine with two flavor options and all sorts of different toppings, breakfast sausage, fried eggs, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, toast and cereal. Juice and coffee. On our last day, there was no breakfast offered at Hampton. We were redirected to the restaurant at the Sheraton Four Points. Of course, that place wasn't open yet. And, once we arrived, they were not expecting us, and they wanted a coupon that had not been provided by the Hampton. Thankfully, it was just a short walk back to get things sorted, and thankfully, we weren't in a rush that morning, but still. Parking is across the street. It's through the casino. You need a new scan code each time you drive through, which comes from the front desk. Because of the delay in our check in, our parking was comped, but I believe it's about $15/day. The lot is long and narrow, and if there are big pick up trucks, it feels cramped and precarious. read more

We arrived after driving for six hours only to be told our room wasn't ready. The room was updated and pretty. Unfortunately, it was very loud as the suite was next to the laundry and housekeeping area. The highway was very loud next to our room. The lighting was poor. The best thing in the room was the comfy bed. The so called air freshener they pumped into the air was awful! I couldn't hang out in the Casino as the air freshener was toxic to my health. Definitely convenient. Right on Main Street. Lots of food/drink choices within walking distance. I liked having a Starbucks on site. Employees were pleasant and professional. Check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean. Price was good. Breakfast was standard. It was hard to sleep though. Traffic runs all night long. When we didn't have road noise to contend with, it was snow removal equipment. Another Yelper recommended getting a room on the North side. I can't confirm whether that would help since there's a road on each side of the hotel, but I will definitely be trying that if I stay here again. The room was uncomfortably hot at nighttime: didn't seem to matter what we set the thermostat at. Pick your parking spot carefully. We saw a bolder roll down the hill and bounce off someone's grill. read more

I stayed here on 5/21/21. Our room was very clean and tidy. The staff was really nice and helpful on the evening shift. The morning staff was not as friendly but hey we can't all be morning people. We were overall very satisfied and happy with our stay. read more

We stayed 3 nights here. It is filthy dirty. The kids working at the front desk were so incompetent. We checked out before heading to Montana to stay at another Hampton. We noticed they charged us another night stay in deadwood. So we called them... no answer. We called Corporate there was no one working. We went to the front desk of the Hampton in Montana. They couldn't help us. Guess what? They said we never checked out and we should have dealt with it at the time it happened. Complete morons. We had to pay. read more

No customer service or consideration. A mistake was made when reserving our rooms through booking.com and discovered 7 hours later. and ultimately the hotel refuses to refund any of our money. When calling the hotel they lied and blamed the lack of refund on booking.com. After speaking with customer service at booking.com the truth came out that the hotel did in-fact refuse to consider even a partial refund. Calling the hotel back led me right back to Kira the assistant manager who suddenly now remembered she is truly the one who doesn't want to give ant kind of money back. When asking to speak with Kira's manager was told her manager could call me "if she gets the chance when she isn't busy" also know ask I wont get a call. Asking if I could truly count on getting that call I was told " not in the time you want it". Ultimately I was never even asked to provide a phone number to call me back at. This hotel will take hundreds of dollars from you only to not be considerate and provide no customer service. We held a reservation for a total of 7 hours! read more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn at Deadwood and had a good stay. The front desk folks are nice and friendly. The room is very comfortable and spacious. Loved the king sized bed....soft and plush. I ate several times at their place for free breaks fast. They offer cereals of all kinds as well a eggs and breakfast sausage. The breakfast is good...not great but it's good. My only problem with my stay was my experience at Paddy O Neil's which is located in the same property within the Tin Lizzie. Please see my review of that. That was terrible customer service. My boss and I complained to the manager of the Hampton Inn because she was the only manager of the entire complex we could find. We explained the situation and she was sorry for what occurred. Se did say the nor her food & beverage manager has control over what happens at Paddy. How can that be? I mean they are part of the same resort? They did offer to make it right and comp our meal wherever we go. We refused because it's not about getting a free meal. Hampton and the Tin Lizzie need to take control of the restaurants within the property. They can lose customers because of their actions. If you all are in he same complex and you all advertise together there needs to be one food &a beverage manager handling the situation in order for their to be accountability. read more

Good location right on Main Street. Very nice interior. Normal good Hampton Inn rooms, but this is actually decorated nicer. Casino on the first floor. Free parking (a big deal in Deadwood) is across the street. Free breakfast was well organized with lots of choices. Free WiFi and hard wire connection. Almost all the 30+ casinos in town have either a restaurant or a hotel or both. Might be something to do with the gambling license. All of them offer dirt cheap room rates. Lots of retired Midwesterners hang here. They come in buses and take over the hotels, so if you go really cheap, you will be overrun by Silver Tigers with canes & walkers. read more

This was our third visit to this hotel, and each time we have been impressed. Very clean, reasonably quiet, (try and stay on the north side to avoid some of the highway noise), reasonable rates and very friendly desk/check-in personnel The free breakfast is a bit predictable, (almost all are), and while average it's adequate enough for us. Parking is across the street in their private lot and was well lit. We will be visiting again when in Deadwood. read more

I usually love the Hampton Inns but this one is a keep driving by one. The elevator was not working (which we were informed of prior to arrival). We were on the 4th floor. We got there around 7. Walked on and the place smelled. In the morning I asked one of the cleaning people for a dirty clothes bag, was told they didn't have any and they had it been ordered. We were with friends on this trip as well. She got in the shower,went to use cream rinse and thought her husband must have used it..... he had not. She felt something "crusty" on the sheets as well. So no supplies, used stuff left in rooms not clean and smells. Won't be back to this one for sure!!! No discount offered. read more

What a complete disappointment in a Hampton inn and that almost never happens. We could not park due to the place being a casino and the breakfast room is disgusting so no we did not have breakfast. Could not find a gym either The staff is friendly but all in all unless your looking for a casino don't stay here. We seen several boutique hotels in the downtown area that probably would have been a better choice. Also the hall way on the floor we stayed on smelled like garbage read more

This is my go-to Hilton property when traveling to western SD. There is another in Spearfish (13 miles) but why stay there when you can be in Deadwood? Great little town with plenty to do. The Tin Lizzie Casino (adjacent to the hotel) is nice and conveniently located to the hotel (right off the lobby). Always a friendly smile, clean room and decent breakfast. Parking is OK but I can see how this is a concern during high season. read more

Overall a very decent hotel to stay at when in town. The rates were fair and competitive and the staff was friendly. The room was clean. The buffet is awesome and dirt cheap. There are a lot of choices but this is a good one. Not the nicest on Main Street but certainly not a dump. It is in walking distance to everything. Great choice when visiting deadwood. read more

Front desk staff was polite, parking was easy. Room was clean and the bed was the amazing bed that Hampton usually has. The location was good. I was able to walk to Saloon 10 with no problems. I played a little at the casino and the dealers were terrific. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is that the wifi was broken. Everything else was great. read more

My first impression was initially was good. The young lady (early evening on 6/27) was professional and courteous. My brother and I returned later that night and the person at the desk asked which room we were in and stated there were noise complaints. How on earth can there be a noise complaint when we haven't even been I'm the room?! Less than 30 minutes later he knocked on our door stating if the complaints continued he would need to contact authorities. We were laying in our beds watching TV! We also received about 3-4 calls around 4am, nobody on the other line spoke. We left it off the hook the rest of the night. I am extremely disappointed with what was supposed to be a fun and memorable experience is now going to be remembered as my brother and I being harassed by a Hampton Inn employee because we look different. With all of the other choices in the great town, please spend your hard earned money at a place that appreciate your business & stay somewhere else! read more

Great location, great parking lot that fit our pop-up trailer nicely, very accomodating. The lady working in the breakfast area, Rose, was exceptionally kind and hard-working. This was definitely not one of the nicer Hampton Inns that we have stayed at. These hotels can usually be counted on to be a great place to stay. The parking was a little tricky and the buffet was not very good for the price. We had trouble with the front desk and the manager. We needed a cot brought to our room and we had to ask a few times both nights that we needed it. One night it was 9:30 and we had to go back to the front desk to ask for it again. The manager was impossible to get in touch with. There was always a meeting or something like that going on. We even left a cell phone number for her to call us back (and we were assured she would) and didn't hear anything during our 3 nights staying there. My husband is a diamond points member so he stays at a lot of Hampton Inns and this was one of his worst experiences. read more

I love Hampton Inns. This one was the exception. Got there late after a long day of driving and was given a dirty dank room with bugs that fell out of the light fixtures. Asked for another room and was told no other room was available. Was also told that even if I didn't stay in the room, I would be charged the full price for the room. I didn't think that could possibly be the case and anyway, I couldn't get a good night's sleep in that room even though it was late at night and I was extremely tired, I found a room in another hotel and slept there. Lo and behold I am charged for the room and after 3 phone calls and 6 rounds of email, I find out that it is indeed Hampton's policy to charge for rooms that you don't even stay in because you found them unacceptable. Amazing! So be aware that as long as you make a reservation, you're going to pay for the room regardless of the condition it is in. Now they keep saying that I booked a smoking room as if that makes a dirty, dank room with bugs ok. Serious customer service fail. read more
