I can see where it may be off-putting to some but I found it to be perfectly acceptable. They are few tending to many & a lot of those people are needy. Deadwood is a fun town to visit for a couple days, and the Hampton Inn at Tin Lizzies is a decent place for home base. It's not a luxurious place but as I mentioned, decent. If you can get a good deal, scoop it up. Did I say "scoop"? There's a place downstairs where you can get a huge scoop of ice cream for 2 bucks! That's about the best deal that you're going to come across at this resort. You're not going to win anything on the slots, so wisk by them on your way out the door. I could give you a tighter than analogy, but I'll keep it clean and socially correct, by saying that those slots should be called slits. As in the amount of light that gets to my eyes after a hard night on the streets of Deadwood. Food options are kind of limited. You can hit Snitches which is on the high end, or the place where they serve up the ice cream. If you've disregarded my advice on the slits, then you'll probably have to opt for the latter. I had a good burger there. While eating, I noticed that they use a robot to deliver food to the bar area. The food is placed on a covered tray and the robot rolls off to its destination. Pretty cool. An innovative way to fill a spot where an employee would have been pre Covid. So, you don't want to work? OK, we'll fill that position with a machine. Have fun being a virtual champion at Call of Duty. There's a very cool sportsbook here too. All kinds of tv's and comfortable seating. A lot of fun can be had. I like betting sports. At the very least, it takes longer to lose your money. Quick Tip: If you make a bet at the sportsbook, don't forget to ask for a drink toke (coupon). You can use it at the bar where the robot delivers food. Be careful to not trip over the thing. You don't want it to go Call of Duty on you. read more

As most of us are,I am a huge fan of customer service. Sports bar attached to Paddy O'Neils is very comfortable, lots of large TVs with leather chairs for players. Very nice. Now to customer service, kudos to Cage at Paddys,he was exceptional! Not nearly as good at casino bar,no further comment. As to gambling also no further comment since the one BJ table and craps table were full,so they basically could/woud not accomodate a gambling customer,a first for me. Overall a "meh". I am on night 1 of 3 and wish I could get out of here and stay at any other hotel/casino in deadwood. Hotel nice. Location good. Casino is horrible!!! I actually sat for hours had many dealers and after what you read below had a 15 minute conversation with a dealer off of work waiting to get a ride home about nothing dealing with gambling and yet I have the following..., A pit boss that climbs over the ropes to get closer to me to make sure they show their in charge when I wasn't even at the table but standing up a foot away from it and hadn't been playing for 30 plus minutes to tell me "you saying she is going to loose her job isn't going to happen, just so you understand". My response "what are you talking about", how could I ever or anyone get someone to loose their job, I never said that and did you hear me say that". Response "well no I didn't but she said she felt as if you were going to cost her to loose her job". If you have such thin skin that your feelings are hurt and don't realize that I or nobody else has the power to make you loose your job dealing cards, then you should not be a dealer!!!! If you are a pit boss and you go over the ropes towards someone that hasn't been playing for awhile, isn't interacting with anyone but other players, and isn't even sitting at the table, you should not be a pit boss!!! I guess we need support animals and hugs for dealers and maybe some retraining for pit bosses about going towards players, over ropes, when they aren't even playing???!!! This five star review is only for the ice cream. If you're in Deadwood and looking for a great deal on ice cream- look no further than the Tin Lizzie Gaming Resort. We happened to be staying at the Hampton Inn connected to the casino, and saw the ice cream counter, so we went over to check it out. Without specifying the size we wanted, we told the girl two flavors in a waffle cone, and she proceeded to scoop. We weren't sure if we were reviving the small $2, medium $3, or large $4. (The Large looked humongous btw) She handed us our ice cream and by looking at the sizes it looked like a medium, but she only charged us for the small. In summary, for only $2 you can get a two scoop waffle cone ice cream. Although only 8 flavors to choose from it is still the BEST DEAL AROUND! read more

Cheap breakfast, but you get what you pay for. I liked the ham and sausage, but pancakes were cold, some soggy. Wife thought gravy for biscuits was too salty. Scrambled eggs were ok. Biscuits were good. No fresh fruit. Unless you want coffee, drinks are extra, no refills on milk. Something didn't set well with my stomach. I think the grapefruit was bad. read more

Hampton Inn hotels is usually my first choice when traveling. August 23, 2022 was my first time in Deadwood, SD so I was happy to find a Hampton Inn for a one night lodging. This is a complex that includes a casino, a few choices to find a meal which included a population of flies and a pub; but let me begin with the room. Dusty, dirty, bathroom floor dirty. The main rooms' rug was filthy with spots and looked as if hadn't been vacuumed in quite a while we had a black bug in the room as well. We let the front desk know in person the room was dirty after bring our bags in. The response was; I'll let the team know." Upon checking out we let front desk know our dissatisfaction with the dirty dusty conditions. The morning response; " Someone must have left a window open." I stayed in the Hampton Inn at the Tin Lizzie and had....for the most part an enjoyable experience. Tin Lizzie is one of the better gambling establishments in the Deadwood area. It's large with plenty of slots to play with as well as tables to play roulette, black jack, poker, etc. The waitresses at the casino are super friendly and make sure that if your gaming that your beer is always full. My stay at the Hampton Inn located within the property was comfortable and enjoyable. My only real problem with my experience at the Tin Lizzie was my experience at Paddy O Neil's...please see my review for perhaps one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever been part of or witnessed. OK was here for Sturgis and friends recommended the food here. We first went to the Irish Bar there and decided to try the buffet... BIG MISTAKE.. My friends recommended the bar, I should have listened more carefully. The Buffet was expensive, food was cold or just poor quality and I would not recommend it to anyone .. and it was a typical cafe type seating... ...Stay away. I'm sadden to say the reviews are be correct. My family and I are happy with the hotel and pool area. The table games are a joke. We were having a good time playing blackjack. The adjacent table was full of young people whooping and hollering, having a great time. We were joking that we wanted to do the same, so we all started cheering whenever the dealer busted or someone got blackjack. This was not what the pit boss wanted to hear. He warned the adjacent table they were being too loud , and then next our table. The other table left as did we (this was at 8:30 on a holiday). I thought gambling was supposed to be fun. This review is for the restaurant only- we arrived for the breakfast buffet after reading about it online. The advertised "senior" price is not offered unless you go back to the casino and sign up for some sort of players card. Then I took a look at the food on the buffet, powdered eggs, some apples and canned fruit cocktail. Ridiculously overpriced and pathetic- a free breakfast at a motel would have been better. We went to the Silverado and it was incredible- prime rib- even for breakfast, omelette and egg station, eggs Benedict, chicken fried steak, ham and amazing fruit. read more

I stayed at Tin Lizzie for two days. I've stayed at a lot of places in Deadwood but Tin Lizzie was not only clean, comfortable and convenient, but the management and the entire staff were amazing! I've stayed many great places, including Vegas, but this was just a pleasurable experience. Great food options, gambling and within walking distance of everything! Generally, a fun experience. What we love about this place is the $2 blackjack table. You can take $20 and milk it for quite a while. They call it a beginner's table so they tend to take it easy on you. Except they obliterated me last time as I built up a decent pile of chips. Lesson learned. Anyhow, the dealers are (overall) pretty cool and Tin Lizzie's also has its own (BIG) parking lot. Just don't park here if you're not going to be a patron. I've heard they chase people down over this. Food is cheap here. They don't have a full-bar - your choices are Budweiser/Bud Light so that would be the main knock. We stopped here mid afternoon looking for lunch. The menu consists of a daily special, hamburgers and chicken strips. All the food was clearly frozen and dropped on a grill or fryer then dumped on the plate. It was cheap and I guess technically food, that's the only thing really going for it. read more
