The room was decent. We stayed on the 3rd floor, room window facing the parking lot - not much of a view.
I liked how the floors have additional doors to the hallways towards the hotel rooms. This way, the hallways are much quieter - at least that's my impression why they have extra doors in the hallways. I have typically stayed at hotels where the walls, floors & doors were thin, so as a light sleeper, I hated being able to hear the noise (people walking, talking, running, etc.) coming outside my room. As a light sleeper, I was happy that I was able to sleep well here.
While I appreciated how the towels were soft, I later realized that they were not washed after being purchased by the hotel. I found a QC sticker still on it after using it. I was wondering why there was so many bits of white stuff on my skin while trying to put on lotion on my body. I realized it was the lint that was coming off the towels. The lint was also flying around in the air as well. I did not like the lint. It made it harder for me to put on my contacts without having the lint on my contacts.
I did like how there were on-the-wall containers of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap & body lotion available. Sure beats the tiny little bottles of toiletries most hotels give you.
Front desk staff were okay. When I had a question to ask, I waited patiently. But when there were 2 people behind the desk - one person helping the person in front of me, the other front desk person chose to refill the bottled waters in the fridge. I thought it was strange that he wouldn't help me out first while I was standing there.
After staying here for 2 nights, I almost thought this room didn't come with any hair dryer. I wouldn't have known that a hair dryer was in our room until I asked a lady at the front desk. She said that it was in one of the drawers by the bed. I'm used to the hair dryers either being in the closet or in the bathroom.
I liked that the hotel is close to a train station. The closest one is the Prince Regent stop.
Last but not least, the breakfast here is included with your stay, but the menu is the same everyday, so it can get old after having it several times. Among their warm foods, they have hash brown tater tots, scrambled (mushy) eggs, baked beans, sausages, porridge, make-it-yourself waffles & ham. They also have cereal, milk, soy milk & yogurt. They have machines that prepare different types of coffee for you. There's juice: apple, orange & tropical. On their island in the buffet, they have cold deli sliced ham, sliced cucumbers & diced tomatoes. On the other side, they have mini-croissants, croissants with chocolate inside, peeled oranges & grapefruit. Kitchen staff were courteous. read more
