This location gets a 5+ for front end staff and a 2.5 for facility maintenance and cleaning. Andrea, Shanda, and Chris were great to interact with and went out of their way with regards to service. The weak points at this location are cleanliness and maintenance (really dirty carpet in my room, chipped and peeling paint, etc.) Hampton/Hilton needs to bring the quality of the facility up to meet the high quality of the employees I had the pleasure of interacting with. read more

Wow! I have long been a Hampton Inn customer - finding the chain a comfortable and affordable middle of the line hotel. Some are better than others, and I would rank the Americus Hampton Inn in the top handful out of the several dozen I have stayed in across the country and across the years. This hotel is near downtown historic Americus, and very close to places to grab food or drink or gas or even ice cream. I left my home in Maryland at six in the morning, and when pulling into this hotel at almost 8 in the evening, I was thinking I would have to run back out to grab some fast food after unpacking the van. But when I rolled in the front door, I was greeted by the hotel manager, and smiles from a few other guests who were enjoying a college basketball game on the large TV in the lobby, while munching on apps and fruit and soft drinks provided as a part of the Monday through Wednesday evening manager's social. Wow! This was a Tuesday, so I enjoyed pizza rolls and fruit and chips and warm cookies and more. No need to run back out after a long drive and unloading for a week long stay here. The hotel is truly wheelchair accessible, and it is clean and bright, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. My room is large, and I was surprised to find an eclectic adaptor bedside where I could plug-in multiple devices and also USB chargers. The bathroom provides plenty of room for my wheelchair to turn around, and the sink is high enough that I can honestly roll under it without pumping my knees. The kitchenette area has a microwave and a good size refrigerator as well as a sink and a table and coffee maker. The couch and chairs are in need of replacing - as they are quite old and worn. But if that is the only thing I can find to suggest as an improvement - well, then this Hampton rocks. The free breakfast buffet was hot and delicious and offered a wide variety of items. Eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, hot and cold cereals, make your own waffles, grits, fruit, juices and coffees and teas and more. You can take the food back to your room, or you can enjoy eating in the lobby watching the morning news in the table area or at a long bar that offers electric outlets and USB charging stations every couple of feet. Plenty of parking. Very professional and friendly staff. And it feels quite safe here. If you are passing through Sumter County, Georgia, I highly recommend the Americas Hampton Inn for your lodging. read more

First off, the staff is absolutely fantastic and that's why I bumped their 3 star review to 4 stars. I stayed on a business trip back in October and the staff in the morning greeted me with a "good morning!" and always said hello and goodbye. Due to Covid rules, a staff member served all visitors the complimentary breakfast buffet food. There were fewer options than normal for a Hampton Inn, but one of the mornings, they did serve the breakfast Kielbasa that always brings me back to Hampton Inns. The downstairs was newly remodeled (I wonder if corporate has required that all Hampton Inns have remodeled downstairs by now, to compete with other brands that have remodeled??) The rooms, however were not remodeled. They were clean and had a good amount of USB charging stations and plugs, but the furniture and bathrooms were outdated. I really do enjoy my hotel stays more when the rooms are remodeled. I hope that the owners do renovate the rooms as soon as it makes economical sense because the staff really makes customers feel welcome and that's a rare state of being in mid tier hotels! We had to evacuate from Savannah, GA due to hurricane Matthew this past week. Our stay here at this hotel has been only positive since arriving. After sleeping in a tent for 2 days because everything was booked up, we stumbled across this place. We received the very last room here and we're SO thankful! We even had our older dog traveling with us and although it wasn't allowed, they made a special exception for us. I can't be more thankful enough that the staff was understanding and let my little fur animal stay here. (I hope I do not get anyone in trouble for mentioning that the staff allowed this.) They even gave us an early check in so we could finally shower and relax after such a rough few days. Although it is priced higher then the surrounding hotels, its for sure worth it. A lot of the hotels are cheap and run down in this area. I would say this is one of the better hotels in the area for sure and location is right near everything you need. I've stayed here almost a dozen times on business trips simply because the other hotels in Americus have been even worse. The housekeeping staff do an awful job. There have been dirty towels, hair on washcloths, and dirty bathtubs. They apparently don't have a maintenance worker to fix things. There have been broken doors, broken refrigerators, and broken a/c units. I guess I will have to pay more to stay at the Windsor, but at least it's clean and everything is in working order! read more

Very disappointed in our stay - especially when I have been there before and it was such a delight. I really like this chain of hotels and usually have a pleasant stay. Drove up with folks hanging out in the parking lot and staring into our car as we arrived. Walking up to the hotel, the pool was very cloudy and tiny - something we were looking forward to using, but it looked pretty bad. Inside, the staff at the front desk was slack and not very hospitable, but I went to our room anyhow. The halls were warm, slightly odd in a warmer GA spring day, and there was a couple "helping" other patrons into their room at the end of the hall. I didn't think much of it and we went into our room. The room was in need of some repair. The walls were dented and had smudges on them. The desk had some moulding that had fallen off the all and the AC vents were really dirty. The main items in the room I care about were the beds and the bathroom, both of which seemed okay. We decided to give it a go, but I was going to talk to the staff downstairs once we left for dinner. As we left, there was only one person at the front desk to talk to, but I decided against it as he was sitting there with a plate eating. Appeared he had a roll or two that he was enjoying. On the way back from dinner, there was another crowd in the parking lot with two coolers and hanging out drinking beer. We drove past and parked on the other side of the hotel, again by the pool. Walking to our room, there was the same "helpful" couple in the hall with another patron, who could not access his room as the key card didn't work. He stated that he had just changed from another room. To gain entry, he decided to kick the door in. Yep, really. We went in to our room, locked the door and decided to not stay here again. They were in the middle of a remodel but it affected the entire hotel. There were wet tiles laid in the lobby, no carpet in the bottom floor hallways, dried blood on the elevator floor, wallpaper taped together on the 3rd floor along with boxes that did not have the required fire extinguishers and the soap dish for the shower was off the wall and laying nicely on the side of our tub, the side exit key reader did not work. Oh and they charged us the same amount we would have paid any other time. The best is we could have stayed at the beautiful historic Windsor Hotel downtown for the same price. After being 5 1/2 hours from home and waiting for hours in the rain our team was very tired and needed somewhere to stay for the night. We came to the Hampton by Hilton. The staff at this hotel was very accommodating to our whole teams needs. All 23 of us were welcomed with a smile from the man at the front desk (Chris) and he got our room keys quickly so we could shower and sleep. He also was able to get all of our uniforms to wash and had them to us by morning. Spent a couple nights here. It was what I expected from Hampton Inn. Located off a main road in town , the location is set back away from the road next to two less-noticeable and lesser known hotels. It's a Hampton Inn, with the requisite look and feel of the place. For it's location it's a great place to stay even as it is priced like a hotel in a larger city or town. I trust the brand name of Hampton and it came thru for the most part here.The room was nice enough with soft, fluffy beds, a business desk, refrig, microwave, shower and bath with good water pressure. It was well lit but the switches were hard to locate. The rooms cranked out AC air and I wasn't always able to adjust it. The TV had plenty of channels for cable (nice). The towels were good but the soap was small. The iron worked but the ironing board was a bit weak. The closet had an annoying full mirror-glass door which was odd to open. The carpets in the room and thru the hotel were faded and worn but looks surprisingly good. The lounge had a decent spread of food; Eggs, turkey sausage, french toast slices, apple and orange juice and of course eggs. There were even hard-boiled eggs. There is plenty of parking and a nice pool to the side of the building. The business center is small but has a nice new computer limited to 30 minutes of guest time. There is also a fitness center. Nearby are local strip malls that have anything you're looking far. A Wal-Mart and Lowe's are right down the street as well. Overall, for it's place in town this is a very nice place to stay. The cost is a bit more than I'd have expected to pay, esp. with the things I was critical about. it's Hampton Inn though and this one gives you what you'd expect from the chain so it's A-OK with me. read more

The Hampton Inn Plus is not just a hotel but an historical and beautiful place to stay. The place is beautifully restored and maintained throughout the lobby, balcony and hallways. There is a bar and restaurant in the place. We throughly enjoyed the staff and front desk - they were very helpful and pleasant. The room is clean and spacious. the hotel is located near many restaurants, a very good coffee place and greek-style restaurant are across the street. The 1800 Mexican restaurant is only 4 blocks away. If you want to stay in a beautiful, restored hotel the Hampton Inn Plus is the only one in Americas. read more

Stayed here last year but it has really gone down hill since then. The positive was that the room was cool and easy to control the temperature and there was no odors. The negatives were that my room had a stained comforter top, ripped carpet and stained window coverings. HBO and Starz included but TV was very slow. Fitness center was awful as they removed the TV and the few equipment they had was in awful shape. Most hotels will offer a membership to a local gym for the day but no help there. read more

Terrible. My colleagues and I had a total of four rooms. Two had doors that didn't latch properly. Two had sinks that didn't drain water. Two had bugs. The hallways and elevator don't look like they've been vacuumed in months. Absolutely not worth the price we paid. Breakfast was great, but the space to get food was very tight. Staff was very nice and helpful with everything, we arrived a few hours before check in time and they still provided a room very quickly. The pool was okay especially in the hot weather, but there was a few clumps of hair floating around...the room was nice and clean, everything looked and worked great. But on the last night when we were about to go to sleep a huge cockroach ran across the nightstand, definitely worried me about what else was hiding around. Lastly, the elevator's inspection expired January of 2015...and it shows. read more
