I was there for 11 days if I could have stayed somewhere else I would have done that. The rooms are not to par for a Hilton Brand. The blankets and pillow have yellow stains. The wallpaper of the bathroom are peeling away and the caulking around the bathtub by the wall it is all cracked and the bathtub stopper was off. The AC cover in the room was hanging off, when I called the attendant to let them know they said they would send the technician. It was until 30-45 minutes after to check he was like I looked for him but I guess he is gone!! This is one place I will never stay again. Highly disappointed!!! read more

We do try to stay at Hampton when traveling just because we always have good luck with our stays. It really depends where you are for the night, sometimes we do get an older one and the service isn't what we usually anticipate. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling. read more

I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Altus, OK from 24 through 26 May. Just a side note Altus is my hometown so my expectation is a little higher than usual. I checked in on the app the morning of 24 May but I received a phone call a few hours later needing to switch rooms (not an issue). When I arrived I stopped at the front desk to get a key but was not greeted as a Hilton Honor's member. The room was in good shape but it needs some TLC, otherwise the room was in good shape. Breakfast on the morning of the 25 was good but on the 26 it was okay. The potatoes should have been cooked a little while longer. When I would come and go it was hit or miss if I received a greeting or any acknowledgment. I will stay again at some point in the future. read more

We decided to stop into Altus while driving to Vegas and we were extremely disappointed. After arrival, we checked in and were informed the pool was closed. Disappointing but we still had hope our stay would be pleasant. Boy were we wrong. The side doors in the hotel were all exit only, making you walk all the way around to the front. The so called "breakfast" was a sad little table with a juice box and dry bagels. The actual room wasn't necessarily bad, but the bathroom was terrible. The shower was covered in mold, the floor was sticky, and the shower head fell of the wall and hit me in the head. Overall, this place is a terrible excuse for a hotel. read more

This place is a dump. There are bugs everywhere, inside and out. I was on the 2nd floor and was killing those black bugs in my room. Rooms are tired and dated. The thin, white curtains in my room were shredded. If you touched them with the power to take hold of them to close them, your hand would go right through them. Rooms are also not clean, there was dirt and mold all around the perimeter of my shower. There is one washing machine and one dryer available for all guests. I stayed at this hotel for over 3 weeks, and the washer was out of order the entire time. Multiple inquiries about it at the front desk were met with total ignorance, to "I think it was fixed" (it wasn't), to an honest "I have no idea when they're going to fix it." C'Mon Hampton Inn... you're a national chain... buy a new washer (or two, so more than one guest can do laundry at a time) Hotel staff was generally unpleasant as well. When you could find them at the front desk (they're rarely there) they are incredibly unhelpful, snotty, or just downright rude. An example: The "Out of Order" sign on the washer disappeared, so I figured I'd grab the opportunity to get my laundry done. Loaded the washer, and put in my $1.50 in quarters. Nothing happened. Ok. I unloaded the washer and got ready to head up the street to the laundromat. I stopped at the front desk to get my laundry money back. The sweet ray of sunshine working that day asked me what I needed. I said that I wanted my money back because the washer wasn't working. She started to argue with me that it had been repaired, and I told her that it was not working, I had just tried it. She started to call maintenance, but I wasn't willing to wait for them to hash this out. I said "Look, can I just get my 6 quarters back so I can go to the laundromat?" Her very loud reply was "6 QUARTERS??!! It's only a dollar fifty!!!" I just looked at her for a minute while she stood there red-faced and pissed off at me. I guess I'd be pretty pissed off too if I was that stupid. Anyway, I calmly and slowly said "Yes. That's 6 quarters" She scrunched up her face, looked to the ceiling, and with lips moving, did the math herself. She then gave me my money back. No "sorry" or anything, but that's cool, I didn't really expect an apology from this gem of a human. Bottom line: I hate this hotel. Everything about it sucks. I'll go to the Holiday Inn across town every time I'm in Altus from now on. read more

We were disgusted by the lack of cleaning and maintenance at the Hampton Inn & Suites Altus in Altus, OK. The beds were extremely hard but the sheets and pillows were clean. We spent the night and went down to breakfast the next morning. The sausage and eggs were ice cold so I thought I'd just have coffee... it was ice cold too! I spent over $300 for 3 (three) days in this hotel. I can get over just about anything, but I will never stay here again, and I suggest buyer beware to whoever decides to use this hotel. I got 3 days, and we went to lunch the second day, at about 1 PM, and we returned, and without a word, they had locked us out of our room and told us, "oh, sorry, we rented that room to someone else a couple of days ago, and you have to move". I felt sorry for the very polite and innocent staff that had to do the dirty work. She said the she called the manager- but the manger never came! They made us move, downgraded us, and put us on the second floor. I told them I would prefer to not stay and although they said that we could do that, they could offer no refund because it was done on Priceline. Rather than dispute charges and aggravate an already very aggravated situation, we just moved upstairs. I certainly hope that it is not true, but I got the distinct impression that we were being moved because one of their frequent guests had requested the room. NOBODY said a word about this to us until they locked us out of the room that we had been in for two days! Very bad taste, and we will never return here, and I'm thinking about shunning Hampton. We went for a family event and stayed at the Hampton Inn, Altus, Oklahoma. We've stayed here a few times in the past. The hotel had not been updated since we stayed there several years ago. Our room wasn't clean very well and the shower had mold in it. The bathroom smelled like pee. We complained to the management and they said it would be cleaned. We got back that afternoon and the room wasn't clean. We complained again and the front desk person said sorry the cleaning person had gone for the day. The next morning I complained to the hotel manger and she said sorry, it would be cleaned that day and that's all. We told her that we were checking out and leaving. The hotel cleanliness has gone down badly since we stayed there last and we wouldn't recommend anyone staying there. read more

I want to start by saying the staff was AMAZING!!! The first room we had, when the AC kicked on, it just blew in a smoke smell. After a night in that room, I was coughing and my baby was coughing. We talked to Rose and she helped get us a new room, even offering to help move us into the room. Kim was always so friendly and helpful!! I was always one of the last people down for breakfast and always appreciated when the lady asked me if there's anything else I needed before she closed the breakfast down. Housekeeping always said hello as I walked by and when we asked for our room to be clean, they would let us know if they were running behind. The hotel itself is probably the best you will find in the area. Nothing was extremely comfortable, but after 2 months I got use to it. The only bugs I saw were dead crickets in the light fixtures and carpet beetles. Overall, I would stay there again! The staff made it all worth it and made us feel like home. read more

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times over the past year and a half for work. Since I've been staying there the side doors never work, the pool is closed, and the fitness center is closed. I stay for work so I like to exercise when I'm away and if my room is on the side of the hotel it's a pain to have to always go in the front entrance. I learned quickly not to stay on the first floor due to bugs. I have never seen so many bugs at a hotel. I had to have maintenance remove a scorpion from my room that was alive. I found a large beetle in my bed. He said he thinks it is due to it being near a field. I typically stay on the second floor now. It's better in regards to the bugs. On a positive note the staff are friendly and breakfast is decent. Why does nothing get fixed here when it is broken? I will probably stay at the holiday inn in Altus from here on out. read more

Just very okay. Nice staff but all else was not good. Room and everything upstairs smelled bad and felt sticky. Sitting area for breakfast sticky with leftover stuff from previous day looked like.... and we really only selected based on pool which was of course closed. Would do in a pinch I guess but I wouldn't return if I could help it. read more

If you ever come to Altus don't ever stay at the Days Inn the telephones don't work both pools been closed down since Covid bathroom sink water doesn't run and the fitness room is closed down. read more

Just tried to submit a review through the TripAdvisor but received a message saying it wasn't possible. Here's what I had to say: "Don't be surprised if you encounter bugs in your room. Manager says they have a problem with them. Unfortunately, even when they acknowledge the problem they don't necessarily follow up and remove the ones the guest has already killed. Otherwise, the room was fairly quiet and the blackout curtains worked well. "Service: Poor (reported bugs and nothing was done about it; bug I killed & reported was still there later in the day after cleaners had left). Cleanliness: Poor Value: Poor (my relatives at Microtel down the road had no bug problems) Room was dark and quiet, so that was fine. My niece & her husband also stayed here (we were in town for my father's funeral) and they had a real bug infestation, spiders and all. I think their room may have been comped but am not sure. Ironic, given the seals on the doors attesting to cleanliness. Wish I could have reported it on https://survey.medallia.com/?enxk79d85wtdh8ssm4smht, but Trip Advisor's site reported: "This state is not implemented yet." Tammy checked me in and gave me bereavement rate when I told her why I was there. I don't normally write a review about a chain hotel. But when you are in a town as small as Altus, a place like the Hampton Inn stands out. I've honestly never been to a hotel with such friendly service as when I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Altus. When I checked in, it was a long day of travel. When I mentioned that it was a long day, the lady at the front desk gave me a gift card to Applebees and said maybe this would make it better. I was also upgraded to a suite at no charge. It was a very friendly gesture. I was also greeted by name by the front desk nearly every time that I walked into the hotel. That extra level of service that made the hotel standout. I'd definitely recommend a stay there. It's probably the best thing that Altus has going for it. read more

I asked for foam pillows because my son and I are allergic to feathers and she brought 1 pillow...they only have one non-feather pillow!? She said she only has that one right now. We went to the pool. Wow. Filthy. The water is so cloudy you can't see the bottom. The bugs are comfortable with it though, several huge ones were swimming... I would not stay here again. read more

I don't normally do 5 stars especially on a Hampton Inn. But this place bar none is a step above the normal "Hampton Inn's" which adorn our beautiful country. The service is friendly and the rooms well just not what I was expecting. Very nice even for the one night we are here. My Dad is 76 years old and we brought him here on the way to Tulsa and then ultimately up to IL,WI and Missouri to visit relatives. He was stationed here in the mid 50s working on the B47. He is impressed with the hotel and as a former general manager of Holiday Inn's and Ramadas that's a good recommendation. Myself as a travel agent dealing in Hawaii and Caribbean travel finds this superb hotel in the middle of Altus, OK of all places is just astonishing to say the least. Again the service and the rooms are just very nice. The only chief complaint and this is standard at most hotels especially the marriott brand is that the bathroom door is so close to the toilet. Other than that I don't have any complaints and would highly recommend this Hampton Inn to anyone visiting the Altus/Blair OK area. read more

The rooms were clean, which was a nice relief, but the pillows need to be replaced. The pillows at this Hampton are too soft. They flatten completely and offer no support for the neck and back. We had 2 rooms with king sized beds and the pillows were the same in both rooms. Three in our party have neck and back problems and we didn't sleep. My mom went to Wal mart and bought a pillow for the second night. I've been home for 2 days and my neck still hurts. If you have neck or back problems, take your own pillow. As for the staff, they were all friendly and helpful. I'm not sure that the hotel ranked with other places that charge $126 per night. I think $109 would be more reasonable for the quality of hotel. An example is the flimsy shower doors that I couldn't support myself on while showering and the flood of water pouring into the breakfast area from the second floor while people ate. Yikes! The door on our room (200) looked like it had been kicked in and a large crack between the door and the frame allowed light from the hallway to come into the room. It also seemed to be the party place. A drunk man in the elevator commented on my sunburn and we could hear the people across the hall "get the party started." If we return to Altus and need a room, I will return to Hampton with my pillow in hand and I won't go on a weekend so hopefully I avoid the party goers. read more

I know, it's a chain hotel--and it's Hampton Inn (the Hilton Family's bottome-end brand). That said, it's not only the best place to stay in Altus, it's also on the higher end of Hampton Inn's i've stayed at--and that is quite a few. To begin with, it's the "classiest place in town" with a good looking lobby, cookies waiting for you and a nice layout. Rooms are plenty for the $77 military rate--with comfortable bed with nice appointments, mini fridge (no freezer, though, if that matters) and microwave available. Bathroom is plentifully stocked with toiletries and linens, plus its very clean and nicely laid out. Housekeeping does a good job on the place, and is friendly, to boot. Breakfast is outstanding--with an egg dish that rotates by morning, along with either bacon, sausage or potatoes depending upon the day. Down the way you'll find make-yourself waffles, along with fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls with muffins, bagels, bread and juice. Cereal is available, as is coffee and milk. If you're a coffee drinker, you'll find it available all day long, as are oranges and apples. Throughout the day, you'll also find a plate of cookies (oatmeal raisin and chocolate chip) available. Pool is good sized, and there is a workout room and business center. Wi-Fi is free with your room and plenty fast. In all, its the best use of your hotel travel money in Altus, and you get Hilton HHonors points on top of it. read more

My mother and I stayed one night in this hotel. Upon arrival we asked to purchase bottle water they were completely out. So we decided to get ice out of the machine on the 3rd floor and let the ice melt so by morning we can have "filtered water". I ate 1cup of ice the following night. Along with putting it a cup of water we got from down stairs juice bar. My mom the next morning got a glass of water out of the bucket and then decided to look in the bucket and saw 3 parasites/maggots floating in the water.............. Overall not terrible but it has insects/bugs everywhere. The breakfast was not fresh. The fruit choices were minimal and not appetizing at all. The biscuits were probably fresh the day before. They pride themselves in their waffles. that was the only thing they should brag about. Maybe if they had some competition from another name brand they would try harder. read more

I've noticed that the quality of the coffee has been degrading significantly during my last three stays. My overall stay has been pretty good but one of the things I look forward to is drinking a hot fresh coffee during check-in and check out. read more
