Meh. Super expensive for football and special event weekends. Horribly understaffed. By far, not up to Hampton Inn standards for cleanliness and upkeep. Positives: staff were incredibly nice and friendly despite their apparent lack of sufficient help from check-in all the way to check out. Breakfast was ok as well. Not a great location on the outskirts of town, but only 10 minutes by Uber to downtown. Probably never staying here again due to the fact that I definitely won't be here for another two years if Penn State is playing here at Michigan then. If so, we'll stay closer town next time and try another hotel. read more

For $225-$275 a night on a non-football game weekend, I expected much better. The air conditioner in our room sounded like a plane taking off when it ran. To not get woken up every time it kicked in, we had to sleep with it off. Several of the outlets didn't work. I did appreciate the microwave and fridge in the room, but that wasn't enough to make up for the shabby room. We also had problems with noise--there was some high school sports team running around and loudly talking, but the front desk didn't seem interested in doing anything about this. The breakfast was mediocre--cold gritty eggs, oatmeal with lumpy brown sugar and a near-empty container of slivered almonds. The water for tea was tepid, and there was no way to microwave it because the only cups had a plastic coating that scorched. The bacon, however, was good. Overall, had I paid $100 I would have been okay with this experience, but not for $200+. read more

We stayed here for three nights with a large group of friends and had a great time. The rooms were clean, bathrooms large, and the indoor pool was very fun. The breakfast was a bit under-stocked, but otherwise, we had a great experience! read more

I've reached out to the hotel so many times that I've lost count, each time I'm told that someone will call me back- in two weeks, no one has picked up the phone to call me, including the manager, who I left a voicemail message for! read more

Sadly this hotel has either staffing issue or leadership issues or maybe both. My second stay here is very disappointing compared to my first. When i first arrived was told no card key were available and I would have to use my phone as the key. After the first night I realized housekeeping had to be requested so I asked for the remainder of my of stay. Came back after a long day with no housekeeping, no big deal as I was tired. So I called and was reassured it would happen and disappointing on return that evening it had not. Had to asked for a few things to be resupplied which were brought to the room with a reassurance of housekeeping the next day. Guess what, no housekeeping again. Called to share with front desk who was a different person from previous days so once again empty apologies of sharing concerns. read more

We stayed at the Hampton inn West the evening of December 18th, 2024. Location to University of Michigan hospital was convenient. Unfortunately we had no hot water which made pre-surgery clean up quite difficult. We didn't find the place to be very clean either. On a brighter note, the breakfast was good. read more

This is either a newer or newly renovated Hampton Inn. Everything inside is updated, new and clean. The staff is friendly up front and they take care of you rather quickly. There is a suite shop right next to the check-in desk and also breakfast is available in the morning. Some have commented about the noisy street. Yes, you can hear the street but it is not nearly as bad as some of the hotels that are placed right next to a major highway. A word of advice to avoid the noisy street would be to ask for a room with an odd number. Even number rooms are on the street facing, or front of the hotel facing, side. You may also want to keep in mind that there is a decent amount of parking in the back. In fact, the parking in the back is even closer to the door to get into the hotel and the back door that you come in is right off of the elevator. Much more convenient than parking out in front. You will need your room key though so you only want to do this after you have checked in. With it being only minutes from downtown Ann Arbor there are plenty of food establishments and other General stores and shops near the location of this Hampton Inn. Also, one of the more affordable hotels in the area. Would I go back? Absolutely! This will be my new go-to for Ann Arbor stays. read more

1st impression. 8pm Cold coffee downstairs. I checked in online with digital key and got into room (362) only to find out I needed a card to turn on the lights. Went back down to get card and got lights on. Went to plug in Cpap machine and outlet at nightstand worn out and plug would not stay in... had to use my adapter. Proceeded to take a shower , got in and discovered shampoo Bottle empty. Got out of shower and retrieved hand soap. I will add water pressure was not good. Brewed some coffee and may I just say...it sucks. Hilton needs to have keurig at all properties in all rooms. read more

Made and paid for reservations for this hotel via the internet - $600.00. We travel frequently since we have recently retired and have had challenges with hotel reservations through third parties in the past and make it a practice to book directly with the hotel. Pulled up this hotel on the internet which deceivingly appeared as though we were booking directly with Hampton Inn. This is not the case. The booking was through hotelvalues.com which we were not aware of until AFTER booking and receipt of the email confirmation. We didn't realize we could not make changes or cancel without this reservation and have now lost $600.00. Calling both the customer assistance phone number and directly to the hotel made no difference and neither would change the reservation by one day. I have stayed at Hampton Inn's across the country on numerous occasions for business and have always enjoyed my stay. Needless to say, I will no longer stay there and would not advise anyone to do so. Just googled hotelvalues.com and there is not a single positive review, ONLY poor reviews stating the company is fraudulent. I can't believe Hilton Hampton Inn would use a company with such poor reviews and reputation.. read more

In one sentence - hands down the best Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at. The details: great facility. Virtually new and very well designed in so many way. Large walk-in shower replaces a near useless bathtub. Spotlessly clean everywhere. Warm personal greeting upon arrival. And super friendly helpful staff. BED BUGS! I was devoured by bed bugs. Room 279. I told the front desk personnel who showed little concern. I called the front desk again that night and personnel were unaware of the incident and also showed little concern. I asked for the manager to contact me but they never did. It wouldn't surprise me if they rented the same room again the next night to some unsuspecting customer. I'm a Hilton lifetime diamond member and this hotel has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Pick another hotel - any other hotel! read more

What a beautiful hotel. Whether an over night trip or extended stay. Expect wonderful customer service from checking in to their cleaning staff. Perfectly located to downtown Ann Arbor. The design of this hotel is simple, modern and clean. Good luck finding dust or dirt. The staff couldn't be friendlier. They don't know the term no and aren't short. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. They make sure you have the perfect room. For example; I hate higher floors. A few clicks later we were on the main floor. My family and I had 2 really amazing staycations at this hotel right down the street from our Ann Arbor homes, one before Christmas and one after New Years. I live in San Diego, had Hilton points to use and a lot of nephews and nieces who were up for some swimming and hot-tubbing in the winter so we booked our stays around the holidays and had an absolute blast. Caitlin was so amazing to upgrade our rooms to the double queen suite each time b/c there was one available (had I booked it with points it would have cost me more than double the points). The room was beautiful and big enough for us to all congregate and eat pizza and get ready for swimming. On our second stay we had 5 kids who wanted to stay over so Tony was so quick and helpful to bring us an extra cot with plenty more bedding and pillows. They also hooked us up with all the toothbrushes and toothpaste since the kids forgot theirs. Devin was so helpful around the breakfast tables, quick to help us clean up little toddler syrup messes and always smiling. In fact, everyone at the inn was always pleasant and kind, and ALWAYS super helpful and attentive. We hope we didn't overstay our welcome as we did have quite a few rambunctious little ones, but we hope to be back soon. Thank you all for a truly wonderful time! read more

The WORST hotel experience of my life!! Couldn't check-in on busiest day of year (college graduation). No one on site to help. Place was empty. Couldn't reach manager and Hilton Honors number was 1 hour+ wait and 35-40 mins next AM. Finally got in late. What a horrible experience for my son's graduation weekend. Oh, and I had to keep Hilton phone call on hold during the grad dinner. Awful awful awful client arrive for both the Hampton Inn and Hilton service line. read more

I'm a frequent flier with Hilton, and this has been one of my most pleasant stays. Clean, spacious rooms with a microwave, and looks new. The breakfast was especially good for a Hampton Inn, and the staff helpful and kind. Very nice new hotel. Walls are paper thin, could hear next door neighbors conversation like they were in the room with us, had to turn up tv just to drown them out. Room above us returned to their room about 2am, again could hear them plain as day, 2:30am group retuned to parking lot music thumping (it was Drake, Trophies) and could hear them talking in the lot. 6:30am someone decided o start and let their car warm up, sounded like just out side out window, looked and it was out in the lot a ways. So if your a light sleeper, good luck! Everything else is your typical Hampton. Above average fitness room. read more

4.5 stars At the time of this writing, a very new property. The walls still smell like paint, and everything is new. They still seem to be staffing up, so the cleaning staff missed on a few items that cost a couple trips to the front desk. Standard and good breakfast in the morning. Good size rooms, impressive in fact, for a Hampton, but the room was missing dresser drawers; again, I think it's just because it's a brand-new property. But it seems like that should be should be something in place before your rent the rooms. 2 short miles from downtown Ann Arbor, and an easy straight shot to get there. So a serviceable Hotel, fairly close to downtown, pretty good for business travel. I'm sure a lot of it's growing pains, and I would definitely stay there again. read more

The hotel was a bit pricey the rooms were nice and clean the beds comfortable. However I had to be at work early that morning and was looking forward to the continental breakfast. By 6:15 still no continental breakfast the lady at the front desk did as best she could by telling the dining room the breakfast guy never showed up. What a complete waste. Very disappointing that after $150 spent I didn't get a complimentary breakfast. read more

Property appears to be somewhat new. The general cleanliness of the facility needs improved. The room was ok, with the exception of the shower which had a horrible smell. But the hallways, elevator, etc definitely need improvements on cleaning. Room was very spacious and modern. The 2 employees standing at the front desk flirting with each other all night was also annoying. read more
