BEWARE of this Hotel and its unprofessional, and downright cruel GENERAL MANAGER - LAURA RUMMEL!!!! We had a terrible encounter here at this Hampton Inn with Laura Rummel, General Manager. I would steer clear of this hotel and go elsewhere if you are able to as she is unprofessional, rude and condescending. I have been a loyal Hampton Inn customer for decades and a DIAMOND HILTON member, and have never in my life had a negative interaction with any hotel personnel, particularly a General Manager! This is my first complaint, but I felt it was quite necessary to help others to avoid this abuse. My 5 year old daughter attempted to get a paper cup off of the counter during breakfast, and was scolded by Ms. Rummel and told no that she could not get a cup. My daughter came back crying hysterically. I approached Ms. Rummel and asked what she had said to my daughter since she was crying, and was told that she told her NO bc she was "messing up her teas." I looked over and saw 2 tea bags that were somewhat out of place. I asked my daughter to clarify what had happened, and she stated that she was trying to get the cup and the teas got caught on her sweater, so she was placing them back. I went back to discuss this misunderstanding with Ms. Rummel, who was adamant that my daughter was out to mess up the coveted teabags here. So, I asked her name and explained to her that I thought she was unkind for making my daughter cry, and that it was odd that she did not feel badly or even attempt to apologize for making a child cry. **She blatantly told me that SHE WAS NOT GOING TO APOLOGIZE, and that my daughter should not be messing up her teabags and that she should not have been unaccompanied (mind you - 6 ft from where we were eating breakfast in a clear vantage point of me). I informed her I would be making a complaint with Hampton and she told me she "DID NOT CARE, BECAUSE AS THE GENERAL MANAGER - ALL COMPLAINTS COME TO HER ANYWAYS." After I told her I would be calling corporate, she continued to double down on this statement multiple times that it didn't matter, since the complaints come to her.** So, BEWARE if you choose this hotel that clearly Ms. Rummel is an unhinged individual with a power complex, and will not care about your well-being, and, in fact, overtly try to to make you feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Save yourself some frustration and mental anguish and stay at another Hilton property, or at least until Ms. Rummel has been replaced. read more

We used the Hampton Inn & Suites Berkshires-Lenox as the base for our visit to the Berkshires. As a former Diamond and now a Gold member of the Hilton Honors program, I have a certain amount of loyalty to the ever-expanding Hilton brands and have probably stayed in around 100 Hampton Inns over the years. This one is a mediocre example of these trusty motels. It's neither terrible or great. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and everything works. But the room decor and design is dated and seems to have been been designed and decorated by someone without much architectural or interior design training. Frankly, the room was sort of ugly and a little depressing. The staff was okay, not particularly good or bad. The breakfast ladies were nice, though. However, the complimentary breakfast was somewhat below average for a Hampton, especially since the waffle makers were out of order and the selection of hot food (sausages, bacon, eggs, etc.) and other items was limited. Also, the location of this Hampton was a little odd, up a short drive from the main road and not visible from the highway. Due to all this, I would definitely take a look at the Courtyard by Marriott that is a couple of miles away. The prices (around $200 including taxes) are about the same, and while I didn't actually go into the Courtyard property, it sure looked more appealing than this older Hampton. read more

Recently stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Berkshires-Lenox on a quick visit to the area to see friends. As a Hilton Gold member, I wanted to stay within the family and this was about the only option with another Hilton property nearby under significant offseason reservations. Using the Hilton App, I avoided the front desk experience with my room ready when requested for 3PM check in. However, when told the room number via the app notification prior to arrival, it changed at check in which could have been embarrassing if not noticed at the time of using the keyless entry via the app. The room was clean, but the view of the AC units on the roof of the first floor was hardly the view of the Berkshire woods I would have preferred. Lesson learned, next time I will choose my own room via the app. Sheets were clean, but the top sheet seemed ill fitting and came off two corners during the night exposing the mattress which nobody wants to experience. Towels were surprisingly soft showing that they were relatively new and clean. Unfortunately, I needed to leave early in the morning before the complimentary breakfast was ready for service, but trust it would be of the expected quality. I was able to grab a hot beverage for the road. read more

Clean, comfortable, and quiet - with complimentary hot breakfast ... what more could you ask? Located between town centers of Lenox and Pittsfield, it's a great spot to access either within minutes. Plus the hotel is situated conveniently close to many hiking trails and parks, making it a good place to prepare for a ramble - and rest up after one! The room we had (a king bed studio suite) was comfortable with good black-out curtains; it also had a small kitchenette area with mini-fridge and sink; the main quibble was that the water pressure was on the low side. The staff is pleasant and friendly. A cannabis shop (Kapha) is just around the corner from the hotel and a gourmet foods and wine shop (Spirited) is right across the street, so if you need your hit of pot, booze, and cheese, you couldn't ask for a better location! read more

A few miles up the road from Lenox. Good location. Easy to get to all The Berkshires attractions. Set back from the road it is very quiet! Decent breakfast, exercise room, laundry, etc. Rooms are good sized With refrigerator and coffee maker but No Microwave! Mattresses were nice. Nice grounds and you can walk to a large shopping parkade that includes a Price Shopper, The 110 Grill which is pretty good as well as other stores. All in all a good place to stay to enjoy the Berkshires. read more

Recently stayed on our trip to Stockbridge, easy to find off the main road, it sits back so nice and quiet. Attendant was courteous, room was easy to find, clean, and since we picked it online the night before was quiet as we weren't next to anyone. Pool was great on the evening we were there, no kids lol, we could actually enjoy it, plus they have complimentary coffee and cookies in the evening. Price was a little high, but worth it in our book, definitely would stay here again, thanks for the nice stay. read more

First impressions make all the difference. After a long exhausting drive (no thanks to rush hour traffic) from NY downstate, we were greeted warmly by Matt, who not only acknowledged our hotel loyalty status, but also offered my kids cookies and water. I happened to have forgotten the kids toothbrushes, but he quickly retrieved replacements for me. We were quickly checked in, and after we settled into the room, he even gave us a courtesy call to let us know the wi-fi password! As someone who loves a good value (and a sucker for free breakfast, I like Hampton Inns because theres a standard level of service and attention that I can expect (24 hr access to free hot coffee/tea is a nice touch). Even if the nightly cost is slightly higher than their competitors down the road, I am willing to pay a bit more for great service, and that's exactly what we got. Our room was clean and exactly as advertised. No Microwave in the room, but they did have a mini-fridge. We had plenty of walking space between the furniture, areas to rest our belongings, and hang our clothes. They even had a nightlight in the room to boot (great for anyone with kids, elderly travelers, or poor night vision!). We were a traveling party of 2 adult + 2 kids, and this room was the perfect size for our needs. The Breakfast was a little *extra* with the fun banagrams too. Coffee was hot and refilled often! Never once saw any canisters empty, as the back end staff changed them out often. There was a microwave for guest to use, and I was able to quickly heat up our lunch for the day ahead. Full disclosure, we haven't stayed here. But we tried to cancel our reservation 4 days out for a Friday night in high season - a family member is now on hospice and we cannot travel. The hotel agent said it's a 7-day cancellation. We have been Hilton honors, usually Diamond, members for years. We also usually stay at the Hilton Courtyard Lenox (which we HIGHLY recommend; great staff and service!), but they were sold out. We are really disappointed by the inflexibility of this hotel. read more

Great hotel with one side backing into the mountain/forest. Plenty of free parking, convenient location close to major road, but since it's in the back, you don't hear any noise. Great pool hours, and what I especially appreciate is the chicken sausage at breakfast. Most of the hotels do pork and many people don't eat pork for various reasons. The staff is lovely as well, the rooms are clean and well-stocked with all that you need. Free cookies at all times were amazing. read more

Great location in the Berkshires. There are supermarkets and plenty of restaurants nearby. Check-in was easy and there are social distance measures in place. While we were there, the property really filled up with guests but it was quiet and we never heard anyone around unless we ran into them in the hallway or parking lot. One thing that I didn't like was the signage. In the elevator, they encourage you to take the stairs as it should be two at a time or same travel party max in the elevator. That's good advice, however, we couldn't find any signs indicating where the stairs were. We eventually asked another guest who pointed us in the right direction and we used the stairs going forward. They really should have that marked though. The room was nice. The air conditioned worked great and was quiet. The bathroom was very big with a powerful shower. The television was at a weird angle and bolted down so you couldn't move it which was weird. The view of the trees and mountain was very nice. I hated the bed. It was way too soft for me and I didn't sleep well. I did like the quilt. Everything was clean, including the fridge and the room wasn't serviced while we were there but we were told we could request anything at the front desk and it would be supplied. We didn't try breakfast as the line up to get it both days was just way too long for a cold breakfast. I would stay in this location again for sure. read more

Before I get into what I like about this hotel, I must say that I am writing this as a family traveler. When I travel for business, my needs are different. I have two young kids and they love hotels. This one has a pool with really good hours, free breakfast and free parking. Those are really my three priorities, along with cleanliness and safety. We got a King Studio room which afforded plenty of space for the kids to move around. The staff was attentive and friendly, the place is clean and conveniently located. We will be back. read more

I was looking at this and comparing it with the Hilton Garden Inn just down the road and couldn't figure why this was a lower price and I'm still not sure other than the Garden Inn is newer? The Hampton Inn was a bit hard to find, with just a sign out on the main road, but that's good as the hotel is back from the road and it's nice and quiet. It's 3 floors high with about 30-35 rooms per floor, indoor pool, free parking, free breakfast, etc. We were down at the end of the hall which was a hike from the elevator but was close to the stairs and easy to get outside since we parked near that door. Breakfast was good, we had some variety each day over a weekend and they kept the food (and coffee) restocked quickly. We had a King size bed/room which was huge, we had plenty of room and even had a separate area with a sink/coffee maker/fridge/microwave. read more

The hotel is clean and as expected but I'm really writing this review because of Kathy at the front desk. We took the red-eye into JFK and drove right into Lenox for a wedding that evening. Unfortunately neither of us got much sleep and we were praying for a short nap before the actual event. Kathy went out of her way to work with Housekeeping to arrange for a room that would be ready earlier than usual. We knew the odds of this were slim on a sold-out summer weekend, but our prayers were answered. We took a refreshing nap (after a delicious brunch at Haven, which Kathy recommended) and were able to enjoy the beautiful wedding. everything bit of food served here is pre-cooked and then warmed. In my opinion the quality of the food is sub-standard and cheap, the coffee does not taste like coffee but water from the kitchen sink. I know, I know that the food is included in the price of the room but you pay for it one way or the other. read more

My only complaint is not a real complaint. We failed at controlling the temperature in our room and as a result it was too hot for sleeping. Only in the morning did we figure out there was a thermostat on the wall in addition to the wall unit. Oops! Aside from that everything was great. The staff were the most friendly caring genuine people I think I've ever seen in a hotel. The breakfast was great! Also, I loved that they had biodegradable plates and utensils for the breakfast. Good for the earth! The room in all aspects was very clean. And it was not expensive. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

The breakfast is great in the morning and the coffee is always available. The parking lot got cleaned up quick after the snow too! This Inn was perfect for our weekend away after a Tanglewood show. The staff was SO friendly -Alison greeted us like an old friend! The room was really clean and didn't smell of toxic cleaning products... just clean. We got a jacuzzi room (not a great view but it was a good trade off) and it was really nice with complementary bath salts. The shower was spacious with plenty of hot water and good pressure. WiFi was good and also included. Breakfast was delicious and they even had GF breads upon request. There were eggs, oatmeal, muffins, cereal, waffles, fresh fruit, potatoes... all hot/fresh and plentiful. There is a Price Chopper 1/4 mile up the road that is open 24 hours and (HIGHLY recommended) Guido's Market if you need anything else. Central to all things 'Berkshires' including a nearby not-to-miss Farmers Market on Saturday afternoon (seasonal), museums, shopping, and of course Tanglewood. The pool was clean. Improvements would be a sliding door in pool area to access the tables and outside chairs and maybe more parking (we got in late and all the spots were full/--they let us park in VIP parking) We would stay here again. We had a horrible night stay in another Lenox hotel the night before and found this hotel at about 9:00 am. The front desk was so super friendly, gave us a king room and upgraded it to a room with a jacuzzi. They allowed us to check in at that very moment and also enjoy the complimentary breakfast. The room was very large. The bed was extremely comfortable. It was quiet and I never heard any of the other guests from our room. The pool was nice (deep side is only about 5 feet). I found this hotel to be a great value, and would definitely return if I take another trip to the Berkshires. :) read more

This is a great Hampton Inn. Conveniently located on route 20, it's just 5 miles from Berkshire Medical (where I was working at for 3 days). This location has very friendly and helpful staff. My room was clean and very comfortable. Got a great nights sleep in that bed I didn't want to get up in the morning lol. The complementary breakfast downstairs is great, and they have hard boiled eggs! Saved me lots of time since I didn't have to go searching for a Dunkin or Starbucks in the morning. read more

Drove up from NYC with my partner and stayed here for Thanksgiving weekend 2013. This is a newer Hilton brand hotel that I have leaned to rely on for a consistent experience. The other establishments on the street are Inns and look old and outdated while this one is newer and very clean, tucked back away from the main road so it is quiet. The rooms are spacious and clean, has friendly employees, in door pool and free basic breakfast. I will stay here again if I do not stay with family. read more

In a land of three day minimums for lodging, it was nice to park our behinds in this corporate clone. Clean, comfortable and nice but on-the-fringe-of-obnoxious desk clerk, it was nice to find a centrally located establishment to stay for Patriot's Day weekend. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but they do make a decent cup of coffee. The bed was comfortable and the room looked good. Although they too call for a two day minimum at the height of the summer season, its a decent main stream alternative to the region's plethora of B and Bs. read more

I used the Hampton Inn as a hotel for room blocks for my December 10th wedding. I worked with Elissa to sort everything out and everything went perfectly. Elissa was amazing to work with - she answered all my questions quickly and fully. The staff was all very friendly and accommodating and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. I booked two connecting suites for myself and my sisters to stay in the night before the wedding (they stayed there the night of the wedding too). It was very spacious and super comfortable - even with four people. Highly recommend to anyone planning a Lenox / Pittsfield wedding or event. read more
