This was the worse experience I've ever had this lady was raciest from the time she look at my son in law . If you're not white I wouldn't go here. She was so rude from the time we check in till the time she called the cops on us saying we went to our car to many time we had 4 kids with us if course we had to go to the car she made the cops tell us to leave cause she got called out. It's sad the kids had to experience this at a hotel where we go once a month for them to swim. read more

Extremely Disappointing and Unacceptable Treatment!!!!!!! This was our fourth time staying at the Hampton Inn in Hoffman Estates, Illinois. We have stayed here multiple times in the past specifically because it's convenient to take our three daughters swimming during the winter. Unfortunately, this visit was so upsetting that we will never return, and I feel obligated to warn other families. We checked in around 4:00 PM with no issues. Shortly after, my boyfriend went to our car to grab our daughter's pool floaties and goggles. While doing so, a police officer approached him, shined a flashlight into the car window, and questioned him about why he was there inside of his own vehicle, despite the fact that we were registered hotel guests. He was asked for his ID for simply going to his own car. This felt completely unnecessary and inappropriate!!! My boyfriend returned to the hotel, clearly shaken by the interaction. We went to the front desk to calmly address what had happened because we felt harassed and singled out. During the conversation, my boyfriend spoke loudly--not aggressively, just loudly, which is how he naturally talks when he's upset.( which was fully recorded by me) Instead of attempting to de-escalate or listen to our concerns as guests, the front desk lady shouted with anger for us to immediately leave. There was no effort to understand the situation, no professionalism, and no respect shown to us as paying guests. The entire experience felt discriminatory and hostile, especially given that we have stayed here multiple times without issue. What was supposed to be a fun family night turned into an embarrassing and stressful situation in front of our children. We felt judged, unwelcome, and unfairly treated. I would strongly caution families and couples against staying here. If this is how loyal, returning guests are treated, I can't imagine how first-time guests might feel. No family should ever feel targeted, judged, or criminalized while staying at a hotel they paid to be in -- especially when children are present! I believe this incident warrants further review by hotel management and corporate leadership. The involvement of law enforcement, combined with the immediate escalation by hotel staff and the lack of any clear justification, raises serious concerns about how guests are treated and how decisions are made at this property. read more

I'm surprised by the bad reviews here. I've stayed here about 2 weeks ago and had a very pleasant experience. We have an account in the area and had meetings all week. The staff is super friendly, the rooms were really clean (my 3 co-workers all agreed on this) and there is ample parking. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD. My stay here was absolutely HORRENDOUS, there was someone else blood on my shower, dead bugs all on top of the air conditioner and when I complained to Ifran the GM he got mad and tried to shut me up because I was using friends and family discount, he told me I'm not allowed to complain and to pretty much deal with it. I showed him pictures and everything. He was very rude and dismissive to me. When I told him I was going to complain and show the pictures he had me removed off friends and family discount and I don't care. I have every right to complain when someone else blood is on the shower in the room I'm staying in and still paying for, the dead bugs were horrible, I couldn't tell if they were ants or gnats. The towels were dingy and had stains on them. The elevator didn't work and he never bothered to tell us this. The ice machine only works on the first floor. Under the sink in the bathroom was moldy. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY. Before I was able to use this discount I always stayed at the Marriott and never had problems, I will go back to staying at the Marriott. We have stayed here at the Hampton Inn & Suites Hoffman Estates a few times before and have always enjoyed our stay. It is an especially good location when we are on our way to visit relatives in western Wisconsin because it is far enough out on Chicago's northwest side that it makes for an easy departure in the morning. This is probably why they often have the best pricing in this area. When we arrived we got the usual friendly greeting we have come to expect from Hampton Inns. They offer digital key that uses your smart phone as your room key. I forgot to do on line check in in advance so I just did a normal check in at the front desk instead. This one is tucked away in a business and hotels complex but any GPS should get you to it directly. The room itself is clean, functional, and comfortable with the usual amenities we expect such as a desk, microwave, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, flat screen TV, free WiFi, etc and also includes complimentary breakfast starting at 6am. The breakfast offers fresh fruit, cold cereal, oatmeal, baked goods, juices, coffee & tea, waffles, and an assortment of hot dishes to chose from; here today they have mini omelettes and sausage patties, one of my favorites. I also made a deluxe waffle including syrup, whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, and raspberry sauce...so good I forgot to add butter! read more

I really expected other attention from the staff, better conditions of the property furniture and mattresses. Especially to be a hotel of such a renowned name. The Horrible and old mattresses (the beds are double, so they are small, they should be Queen size at least) makes me spend the worst nights in a hotel. The kitchen had ants, the carpet and furniture looks dirty and old. in addition the pool water was extremely cold and the jacuzzi was not available to use because it was under repairs the days we stayed at this hotel. I definitely I think that for the money I paid I could get a better hotel. read more

I like this Hampton, perhaps because it is always where I stay when I come to Hoffman Estates and I am a creature of habit but I do believe it is mostly because of the friendly staff and consistency in comfort. It is a nice property, located in a business park area. Lots of services/restaurants (hello Starbucks) within a mile. The rooms are always clean and comfortable... I love their pillows. The staff -- over the last few years that I have stayed here, the staff is unwavering in their service and friendliness. All the staff. The free breakfast is solid... I am a Hampton Waffle junkie so I am pretty easy to please... but their oatmeal is pretty darn good too. It is a Hampton, not the Ritz... but it is a four star Hampton for sure. read more

My husband and I live in Wisconsin, about 3-3.5 hours from here, we stay at this hotel every time we make the trip out here. Unfortunately, this time we were here for a funeral. We frequent this hotel because of the hot tub& the fact that it is clean (for the most part). The time before this, when we stayed here, the hot tub ruined my wedding ring and completely ruined my bathing suit! (Pictures below). Now, this time we stayed, the hot tub is no longer an amenity, which we were not aware of until we had already arrived, checked in, and made our way to the the pool! We went to the front desk, and mind you, we paid $180 total for our 2 days staying here! When explaining to them why we were upset, they then told us that it is posted on their websites. When googling and researching, that is not true. They seemed to be suprised. Sorry not sorry. Not only this, but our rooms bathtub was filled with MOLD. yes, mold. Again, pictures below. This is the last and final time we will be staying here after frequenting this establishment so many times before. It was fun while it lasted Hampton! read more

This hotel is nicely situated near all the shopping in northwest suburbs of Chicago. We liked the rooms. They have good pool. Breakfast was good. The staff was very nice and friendly. They even saved our lost backpack with few valuables in it and returned it after 8 hours or us checking out. Deifnitely recommend this hotel. read more

The one is because the people are nice. But dang...this is the trashiest Hampton I have been to. See pics.....these pics are AFTER we shared with them every single day the trash cans are full. They will not empty them on a regular basis. The ash tray was disgusting and full and they WOULDN'T empty it. No joke! We took pictures of it every day. We told them at the front desk....every day.....multiple times. We have been here since Thursday and am amazed they can charge the rates they are for this filth! Don't stay here unless this Makes you feel at home. The air conditioning was also out for three days in 90 degree weather. read more

My home away from home when in IL. My husband and I stay here the majority of the time As a Hilton Honors member this is an excellent weekend retreat that is reasonably priced. The beds are extremely comfortable. The bedding has been updated to an attractive all white decor which is more pleasing to the eye then the the typical, tawdry bedding found in a lot of hotels. Bathrooms have also been updated to a stylish looking tile with sleek bathroom fixtures and tasteful decorative accents. Shampoo, conditioner ( a huge bonus in my book) , soap, and mouthwash (another bonus) all available. Complimentary breakfast has hot food selections. I'm not saying it's the best selection or best tasting, but still an option for being complimentary. Indoor pool, business center, clean rooms, great value! Highly recommend if wanting to stay in the suburbs. read more

Ok. We had three nights here because of my stepson's wedding nearby. I chose this one because of the pool and hot tub, and Hilton rewards. I also wanted a suite with a separate bedroom from living area. The room was great -- modern, large, bed was comfy, shower and everything were very clean. But it was the fact that twice the week of us staying there, I got texts saying Hampton Inn was looking forward to our visit and giving us information. However, no one ever bothered to inform us that the pool and hot tub were not working. That's the reason I picked that hotel. I could have picked many others. But I picked this one for the pool and hot tub. That was extremely disappointing. And the breakfast was pretty disappointing to me and my husband, who isn't fussy. Not enough selection, the cheese omelet was very lukewarm not hot, the bananas were so overly ripe, and it was a very crowded dining room -- very small. There many hotels to choose from in that area -- including Hilton ones. So, if we come through that location again, which we probably will, I would forego the Hampton Inn. read more

As a frequent business traveler who almost lives out of hotels, I had a chance to use every area of the hotel while I was there. Stayed there when I came back for a week to see my son. The room itself was actually fairly decent although a bit dated, I believe from what the front desk mentioned at check in they are due for a renovation that is much needed shortly. With that said they were kind enough to upgrade me to a suite which was nice and made the stay more enjoyable. The suite had a few niceties that were quite unexpected, a full size fridge with a REAL freezer! No soupy ice cream! Full sized cabinetry with a kitchen that was fully stocked with plates, cups, bowls, silverware and cookware: pots and pans. Of course there is no oven but there is a counter top electric range and a full sized dishwasher more than makes up for some of my gripes below. I dinged the hotel 2 stars for 2 reasons. 1-the furnishings are quite dated, and although clean, it's overdue for a makeover. 2-because of the construction on I90 East, accessing the property is a pain as one of the two access roads is closed, so there is only one real way in that doesn't involve breaking laws. If you find yourself coming in on the East entrance of Greenspoint Parkway, you're going to have to bust a U and head back to the second Greenspoint Parkway entrance off Higgins which is a bit of a pain. The view if you're unlucky enough to be facing 90 is all construction for as far as the eye can see but not once did I hear any noise whatsoever that was construction related.. The mix here seems to be half pleasure and half business. With all that said, the staff was friendly and accommodating. I got a call about an hour after check in making sure the room was to my satisfaction and once during my stay when I didn't get housekeeping service and needed the kitchen trash taken and new towels the staff called to make sure housekeeping had come. Follow through was top notch. The pool is open for business as is the hot tub, ahead of schedule, it wasn't due to reopen until May 1 which was a nice surprise. The fitness center has an elliptical (many Hamptons' don't even have an elliptical!) and treadmill as well as free weights. The business center was functional for my needs when I had to slide in there to run a print job off a few times. The breakfast is better than most Hamptons', there is usually 2 hot items that are varied by the day on the warmer (sausage, potatoes) but it's a Hampton breakfast, so don't expect much. The healthy options are limited and the cantaloupe I tried was slimy and not appealing. Probably stick to the apples and bananas if you're looking for fruit. Lastly, there is a nice courtyard area in the center of the hotel outside that is enclosed by the hotel itself which is a nice area for sitting and enjoying a nice day with a gas grill available for use as well. Would I stay here again? Absolutely, so long as the points per night is still 9000. If the price points per night went up to 20k ish like most other Hilton properties I would lcertainly pick a different spot to crash in Chicagoland. If this was a $149 night property I'd not be compelled to stay again given the things I mentioned above. My suspicion is, however, that the points per night/price is so low because of the 2 things I dinged the hotel for. Neither of them are deal breakers for me given the price point more than off sets those things for me. read more

Selected the hotel, Hilton Member (though there were several others hotel within walking distance from it), and was happy to check in and stay. Room was fine, facilities were clean, and room was advertised. THE PROBLEM came when I called the front desk to check out early. I called the front desk and asked if there were fees associated with early departure. The service rep on the phone (male) told me I had until midnight to check out Saturday night to not incur charges for Sunday. Feeling happy with the Hampton Inn, checked out of my room, asked to have my bill emailed to me, and began my six hour drive home. Once I received and opened the email bill I saw they had charged me for the additional day. Thinking, "oh, just a mistake." I called and asked for help changing the bill and I was politely told that I cannot get my money returned to me. I explained the conversation I had and check out. Explained that I would not of have left for my six hour drive home that evening if that were the case. I was told the desk staff was wrong to tell me that. This situation was not caused by me, and if management has uninformed desk staff, then that is a hotel service issue they push onto their customers to pay for. I simply asked for them to make them to situation right and they flatly refused. Immediately after this conversation the staff at the hotel started advancing the pending hold to try and close my bill prior to me contesting it. First off we are return guests here because we stayed 4 years ago with friends and LOVED it here so we planted roots for another weekend getaway .... Not such a beautiful stay this time first thing we noticed upon walking into the room was an odor we finally tracked it down to garbage disposal there was food and gunk down in there so we called front desk they sent housekeeping down to clean up but she just sprayed some spray in there and febrezed the room with some spray and went on her way, and so did we doing out rounds around town and swimming returning to our room later that night. Around 9 ish wanted to put kids to bed and peel back sheets only to find someone else's hair on our pillows and black specks in our bed......(gross right) so I make another call down to front desk I was told he will call housekeeping and see if they're still in he was really busy and only one working front desk so he couldn't leave , I saved him a trip and walked down to front desk only to be told housekeeping was gone if we thought it was bad enough he would maybe try and find a different room ( by this time it's almost 10 pm and we'd been on road most of the day we just wanted to put our kids to bed ), so I asked if he was able to comp instead ? Logical question right? He tells me talk to his manager she will be in tomorrow but he didn't know when because she worked 12 hours today.....needless to say this stay has been VERY under whelming and has definitely turned me off to stay here again when I return to area in 4 weeks .......on a lighter note the kids enjoyed pool and hot tub very much which made for a happy mom and dad for a bit read more

For the past two years, I've stayed at this Hampton Inn & Suites in Hoffman Estates an average of 10 nights a month. Being a road warrior is tough, but I'm heading to Hawaii on Hilton points this year, so no need for pity. The staff here is wonderful and I find this to be a very clean, well-run hotel. I've never had an issue with cleanliness in the many many nights I've stayed. Yes, had the occasional water-heater issue, but the staff is always quick to attend to any problems. The shuttle is a nice perk, and the drivers always friendly. Free breakfast is as-expected, and the staff do a great job of keeping everything stocked and ready. There are many shopping/dining options near the hotel. Take your car or the shuttle. My favorite part of this hotel is the beautiful pond behind it, where you'll find (when the weather is nice) two swans, some giant koi/catfish and a heron frolicking. A walking path surrounds the pond and it's my happy place. Is this a 5 star hotel? No, but they don't charge 5 star prices. For a hotel at this price-point, it doesn't get much better. When we first arrived, we needed to switch rooms to accommodate our stay and the front desk was quite helpful with this. This hotel was pretty nice for a Hampton Inn, and I was pleasantly impressed with the decor in the room. The bed was great, room was clean, and the hotel overall appeared to be in good condition. There was complimentary breakfast in the morning, and there were good options, though I would have liked to see more options for those of us that don't want our food covered in cheese (other than just oatmeal, fruit, and bagels). place is filthy. i only gave it 2 because of the great staff. there were two different spots ON THE SHOWER CURTAIN with super long hair and i know its not mine since mine is military short. no inner shower curtain but not sure if thats required, if anything just reflective of the cheap owner no inner window curtain which was annoying since you have to have it fully open if you want sunlight otherwise the hotel across the street is getting a free show for no money pillows were super cheap as hell feeling and looking someone mentioned cigarette smoke but i didn't get any smell of that at all breakfast offerings are very impressive internet is legit just a cheap franchisee is my guess read more

Very very clean. Workers are very diligent as I watched while I worked out and used the pool area. The gym could use some kind of fan to move the air flow a little better. Little stuffy for such a small room. The complimentary breakfast is amazing with loads of choices and a decent time frame for the not so early risers. The air conditioners in the rooms are a little weak at cooling down the room. The wifi could be a tad stronger for guests in the backside of the hotel. Other than that great 3 days spent here. A nice Hampton Inn. We had to stay here, as our house was being repaired from a pipe bursting. I would give this place four stars, as the furniture is older and the swimming pool was being used for swim lessons one night. I am giving this place five stars, because of the staff. We needed to wash dishes, as our kitchen is where the pipe burst. We came back from visiting our home and the maid did our personal dishes. That was amazing! What a nice kind gift! Secondly, the electrical was really bad in our room and the soft bed was broken for my son to use. On Monday, the maintenance staff fixed everything. Again, unexpected. They gave us the royal treatment and we thanked them with five stars! The breakfast was good, too! read more

So following my visit to this not-so-wonderful Hampton Inn, I get an E-mail to complete a survey......and they received a Scud Missile from me! At the end of the survey, it asked if I would like to be contacted, so included E-mail and phone contact info ----- well, wouldn't you know they didn't even bother to act upon that info/request......which shows how uncaring this place is. But it doesn't stop here, oh, no! I wait for my credit card transactions to clear as I submit my expense report, and, wouldn't you know it, my card never gets charged for my stay! So I call the Hampton Inn. The front desk tells me I've been "hundred-percented", to which I say, "I certainly hope that's not contagious!" They then go on to say that's a Hampton 100% guarantee if you're not 100% satisfied. I say no one ever told me, so I'm left waiting for an expected transaction to clear. So I ask to talk to the General Manager. She states they tried to E-mail me to et me know (yet another lie......they have my E-mail address!). Then she has the gall to tell me that she's read my survey. So I ask why she hasn't bothered to respond to my request for contact.....Ugghhhh! I could go on, but why waste already more of my time! Don't stay here. Refrigerator was busted and ruined the food and beer (60 dollars with of local craft beer) I had in there. Notified night manger and he was rude and dismissed us like it was our fault. Checked out the next day and the day clerk just passed the buck to maintenance. She was only willing to give us a managers number...the girl at the desk was the manager on duty according the placard. She didn't have the authority to do any thing. Also the shower curtains are too short so expect to use a lot of towels or stand in a huge puddle of water when you get out of the shower. The fitness center is a joke. read more

Excellent rooms (spa tub room is huge) and great service. If in the area for work or visiting (although there isn't much to visit), the Hampton Inn is always a good option with consistent buffet breakfasts, friendly staff, great prices and nearby restaurant options. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to the spa tub suite which was HUGE and had a massive Jacuzzi tub in a separate bathroom, such a luxury!! We were a little worried as it was right behind the elevator but it wasn't loud at all and we were even able to get a late checkout the next morning. For the price, you can't beat it and it's close to I-90 so easy to get in and out of. There is some construction going on right now in the complex where the hotel is so there is only 1 entrance when normally there is 2 (it's a loop) but that was easy to navigate so overall, a pleasant experience. read more

This has by far been the worst experience I've ever had staying at a hotel. My daughter is here for a state cheerleading competition and at 8am people started banging on the roof. According to the front desk they received several phone calls complaining about the noise and considering there are hundreds of young ladies here competing in the most important competition of their cheer career (no big deal right), the staff tells us that quiet hours are over soooo they're sorry. I'm sure the other parents are just as upset as I am considering the amount of money we paid to stay here combined with the time everyone left the competition and would agree that a little sleep would've been nice. Checked in on July 1st, received terrible customer service from the front desk employee on the evening of July 2nd. Front desk manager refused to talk to me that evening. So in the morning of July 3rd, spoke with the general manager. She conducted an investigation and emailed me by the end of that week apologizing for my experience and offered me a refund on my points that I used to make the reservation. Waited more than a month and I still didn't get my points refunded. Contacted Hilton honors and they couldn't reach the general manger. So I filed a complaint with the BBB a couple of weeks ago. Still no word on my points. I've never had a bad experience at a Hampton inn ever before this one. Highly recommend you avoid it, especially if you are traveling with family like I was. read more

I stayed here for 7 weeks, so I got a pretty good look at things. The breakfasts are phenomenal. If you don't find something you like & plenty of it, it's your own fault. There are also 2 manager's receptions during the week, so you basically don't have to cook or go out 2 of the nights a week in addition to the 7 full breakfasts a week. The staff were friendly and ready to accommodate when asked. Fran is a great sales manager who's always being proactive in ensuring the customers are satisfied. You'll see her at many of the breakfasts. She also pitches in and helps when there's something to be done. Raven, Gianna, Jessica, Felicia, & Najay are just a few of the staff who work hard to make this place run right. It's not perfect, but I saw each go above and beyond on more than one occasion. There are a couple of other staffers (one from Bosnia and another from Poland) who are great as well (sorry I didn't catch there names!). Overall, VERY PLEASED with my long-term stay here. read more
