Great staff, clean and nice room to stay in. Smelled nice (which is always a nice attribute). Didn't try the exercise room. I never like having to pay for breakfast and at $16.95 is a big steep for hot eggs, potatoes and meat but it was convenient and if you're not eating then it's nice to not have to pay for it. I should be able to use my Hilton Benefit however I want. And to NOT have a mechanism in place to be able to purchase a continental breakfast (bagel, toast, etc.) should not be allowed by Hilton! Go to Jewel and get some $.99 cent bagels!! The road noise is a legitimate concern if you stay here. Although our first time here, I would recommend bringing a fan for white noise (or just use your phone and go to youtube, tons of white noise videos/sounds) and/or stay in odd numbered rooms. Absolutely mediocre.Goods balanced out by bads. Friendly front desk. Available cardio machines in good shape. Small but comfy pool. It's bitter cold outdoors and the chill can be felt through the windows. Cannot pull curtains over the windows to keep the chill out because then the heater is blocked. Some furnishings are a bit banged up. Restaurant/bar is NOT open for dinner as cited on web site, and app. Thankfully, delivery is available from nearby because I really don't want to venture back out into the polar vortex. read more

I primarily booked it because it's an easy walk to and from the mall but the king studio room was very spacious and clean and the service was great! The hotel charged me more than what my reservation with Booking.com indicated I would pay. In addition, they charged me $6 for two bottles of water that were in our room that we did not drink. I called the hotel and was told by Victor that he would credit my Visa for the $6 but I would have to talk to Sara (the manager) about the over charge on the room. I twice tried to reach Sara, and I was told I'd have to keep trying to call her rather than leave her messages. I ended up emailing her and never got a reply from her. Instead, some Alyssa emailed me (from a no reply email) and said they credited my credit card for the difference. I never saw the credit refund, and in fact I saw the hotel had more charges pending on my account, so I ended up disputing these charges with my credit card company. If you plan to stay here, I'd suggest get a receipt and pay in cash! read more

Blocked 27 rooms for daughter's wedding. Priscilla was amazing when she was there. This particular week there were not 2 but 3 wedding parties staying here. That said, the elevators were busy; So busy 1 broke down. (It never got repaired) An inconvenience for everyone. It literally stopped at every floor and of course we were on the 7th. Needless to say wait time would run up to literally 15 minutes and when it came, it was filled with people. And staff had to use the elevator as well. With their big dirty carts of trash. Walking down 7 flights of stairs in a formal gown and heels along with a husband on oxygen was quite difficult. Also on the 7th floor was my daughter 23 weeks pregnant with twins yes she had to walk down those stairs too. Come to find out that my daughter's room the toilet didn't work. They had to go downstairs to poop. Absolutely ridiculous and no one came to check their toilet. Their 2 little girls were not happy peeing in a toilet filled with pee because it wouldn't flush. Several of our guests got charged for breakfast when they had already paid for it. It became a cluster for everybody. The hotel itself was in fairly decent condition, but not enough staff to run the place as no one had room service either. That was our experience. Hope yours is better. read more

Five stars for the staff who were all working hard and were very helpful. We stayed here for almost a week in August while we got my niece moved into her first year at college (yay!), so we witnessed all the different people who came through including a large wedding party the same weekend as another large group of people. Issues came up but the staff was on it, doing their best to resolve issues quickly. Originally we had a reservation at the Extended Stay in Elgin so we'd have a kitchen but that hotel didn't work out for us. The Hilton was much cleaner, quieter and like I said the staff was great which is what we needed during this time of new beginnings and farewells. read more

We have stayed at this Hilton Garden Inn quite a few times over a number of years. This location has been convenient for us when we travel from the Detroit area through Chicago to visit relatives in western Wisconsin. We have a few favorite Japanese restaurants and shops in the Arlington Heights area that we like to visit and once we are done we can get another 8-10 miles west, stay overnight, and leave the next morning already west of heavier traffic. Because they are further west they often have lower pricing because many people want to be closer in where there is more available to do. I mostly prefer the Hilton hotels and I do usually prefer the brands that include a breakfast like Hampton Inns, Embassy Suites, Homewood Suites, etc. but if the price happens to be $20 or more lower with no breakfast, I can buy a nice breakfast from another restaurant. There happens to be an IHOP and a Burger King within a half mile. And you do get a free breakfast if you are Gold Level or above. When we checked in last night we were pleasantly greeted and welcomed back since we had stayed here before. The room is clean and comfortable with all of the amenities we have come to expect like mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker (Keurig), WiFi, desk, plenty of power and USB outlets, etc. This morning, without an included breakfast, we had cereal bars, fruit, cheese curds (just back from Wisconsin), and gave the Keurig a workout. I think we'll be OK until lunch! Use your survival skills!! read more

Family stayed here for the week while attending my son's wedding. The hotel was very clean and plenty of amenities. The rooms were spacious and really clean. The maid staff didn't come in to clean unless you asked, but we're readily available to get clean towels. The hotel had a pretty good breakfast, but there was a charge for the meal. Absolutely the most comically bizarre experience staying here for a weekend. It was entertaining, but only in excitement of viewing it in retrospect. The Inn lost connection with Expedia, so after our first night staying here, we ni longer existed in there system, so we had to rebook the room all our stuff was already in, although we could provide all the proof provided by Expedia. Our neighbors on our hall had dozens of guest coming and going through the night, and when approached (after several hours of spent yelling and banging on doors in the middle of the night) let us know that they were prostitutes, trying to make rent, and that the hotel staff was okay with it. I approached the staff who said they were not aware, but did walk into their room where an unconscious woman was unable to woken up. They were not removed however, and the pile of soiled sheets and filled trash cans grew to a small hill in front of their door-ajar room. In the middle of the night the smoke coming from their room (not cigarette smoke, but chemical) set off a fire alarm for the whole hotel and everyone had to exit for the fire department. After the first night they started moving the pill smoking to the stairwell, so that issue was resolved, but the smell was potent and the comings and goings didn't slow through the following nights. They did figure out our reservation info in the end, so we did have a place to stay, and the lobby is nice! read more

Stay far away from this hotel if you are looking to reserve a block of rooms. My wedding guests and I had the absolute worst experience. The communication was horrific all around. I should have run for the hills when I had to contact someone three times before even reserving the block. My (now) spouse was on hold for AN HOUR trying to confirm they had booked our room. Somehow my mom booked two rooms for my parents and siblings, but only ended up getting one. It was written in our contract that all our guests would get complimentary breakfast vouchers.... but when my guests went for breakfast, they were turned away due to us not getting the minimum 10 rooms (the only explicit thing it said our guests would not get without booking 10 rooms was the shuttle). It gets a star for having a gorgeous lobby and nice rooms. read more

So I rarely write reviews on hotels, but I couldn't not say something. Between the night auditor who is absolutely a gem, he's been so kind to me. I grabbed the wrong tooth brush from home, I noticed they didn't have any for sale in their store, but he gave me one! The overall pleasant interactions I've had so far here, tells me they excel with customer service. The chef Ivan made me a drink even though he is not a bartender and it was perfect! The room is nice, and clean. If you are looking for a nice place to stay that isn't obscenely expensive but comfortable this place will do it. read more

This hotel would've gotten more stars, it gets 3 because our room was clean, Alex at the desk was super friendly....However that's where it ends, I thought breakfast was from 7am-10am, went at 9:30 and it was closed. Oh well stuff happens.... My main purpose was to get away with my family to swimming but when we got to the pool the water was dirty at the bottom of the pool, there were dead flies floating at the top of the pool as well as on the ground around the tables and chairs in the area. The manager Jeffrey provided an excellent experience and was attentive to our every wish and need with a most helpful attitude and care! Driving through stopped for the nite. Was wondering why the room was under $100 thought nothing more of it bc it was midnight and been on the road all day from VA. Next morning noticed a few stray hairs in the bathroom, not that big of a deal. Took my shower grabbed a "clean" towel not thinking I should check it over! My mistake, drying off my face I pulled a giant hair off my lips. Gross, I know it's just a hair. That's what I keep telling myself but it left me feeling dirty. Even though I had just taken a shower. Hung the towel up and there was another still on the towel. Yuck. Not the standard I would expect of a Hilton property let alone a Hilton garden. I told the girl at the front desk and she apologized. Over all no other complaints but it's funny the impact a few hairs can have. read more

So irritating. I broke out in hives and bites. I told the staff and they came to inspect the room and said even though you can't see bugs there will always be evidence, regardless of the fact that I have nasty bites on me. They said I got bit by Mosquitos and that the bites don't show up till a day later. Such bs. I moved rooms since we were already here and I typically like Hilton's properties. I've had good experiences with Hilton products for many years. However, this location wasn't what I'd expect from a Hilton. There was long hair in the bathroom, on the bed, and desk. Amenities were missing. The tv remote was dirty and sticky. The bathtub was unclean with more hair. Lamp shade was torn and had stains on it. The check-in process could have been much better. The staff immediately told me they had no rooms for the next three days. My Hilton app suggested otherwise with five available options for a room. She acted surprised. I paid $170 for one night. It certainly wasn't worth it. I cannot recommend this Hilton. read more

This place certainly exceeded my expectations. Our plane landed early, and our plan was to drop off our luggage and go to downtown Chicago. The hotel has a flat rate to and from O'Hare ($28) and we got into the hotel well before check-in begins. They let us check-in early so we could get upstairs and cleaned up before going downtown, then shuttled us to the nearest train depot free of charge. The staff was particularly friendly and helpful, quickly answering any questions we had like true professionals. The manager on duty took the time to drive us around a few times on the shuttle, even when the shuttle technically wasn't running, and was friendly every ride, giving us tips on where to eat and what to see while we were in town. Rooms were priced very well, and the stay was wonderful overall. Loses one star (I wish it could only be half!) because it's situated a bit far from everything I had to go to, and when the shuttle couldn't drive us around, the taxi fees added up quickly. read more

It sounded like a waterfall was blasting into your ear drums. I stood next to the unit, and I actually felt water spraying at my legs. We had sucked it up since we were too lazy to move rooms, but eek! watch out. I told the lady at the front desk upon check out, so I hope they get it fixed. We stayed here at a discounted rate for a wedding a few weeks ago. One of the 'perks' of booking with the room block was a 'complimentary, cooked to order breakfast.' Sweet, I'll take that. As far as hotels go, this HGI is pretty standard. The room was a nice size, clean, and the bathroom was decent. No creepy crawlies, which is always a plus. The staff though, not so great. When we checked in, the woman who assisted us did not smile, nor do I think she made eye contact or even look up from her computer screen. Not so great, HGI. Not welcoming at all. Now, on to this complimentary cooked to order breakfast. Let's talk bait-and-switch. First, we were told that we could meet the bride and groom the next morning in a private room at 10am for a buffet breakfast. That's not cooked to order, now, is it? OR, we could eat in the café, which is also a buffet. The "cooked to order" option was basically an omelette station. The choices for the omelette fillings were pretty odd: spinach, onion, jalapeno, tomato for the veggies. No mushrooms? Weird. The omelette was pretty small and mine came wrong. The "potatoes" were tater tots. I'm pretty sure that the only part of my "cooked to order" breakfast was the omelette, the rest the server pulled straight from the buffet line. Not a fan. I get that it was free, but I really don't like buffets. So, I would've actually PAID to go have breakfast somewhere else. read more

A nice room with a comfortable bed; that's what a business traveler wants most and I have that. I also have an in-room Keurig coffee maker, into which I popped a decaf pod. That opened the tank, which was a disgusting brown mess with squiggles that look like worms. When I called the Front Desk, they were understandably apologetic and brought me a fresh cup of coffee. When I used a couple of creamers that were in the room, they curdled when poured into the coffee. I was brought another cup of coffee with fresh creamers and that made an OK cup of coffee. I suggest they clean the coffee makers and rotate the "fixings" on a regular basis. Food in the restaurant is just OK, with distracted service, as the server also tends the bar. Food quality is average for a hotel such as this; it's the only thing around! I would stay again, but would never use the coffee maker! read more

The Hilton Garden Hotel in Hoffman Estates is very comfortable and so convenient to go to from the freeway and a 15min shot from the Airport. They have very nice rooms and good beds to say the least and one should ask for a top floor room to have more peace. AC's are a little noisy but the way to fix that is stuffing a towel between the edged to stop the vibration. Good rates for a week on business and the food isn't bad at all. The breakfast is the best part of the day here. I would stay again. read more

We recently stayed here for 4 nights. We had a lovely experience. All of the staff we interacted with were so personable, friendly and helpful. Our toilet overflowed and the maintenance staff was not in yet so the sweet woman at the front desk (wish I could remember her name) came up immediately with a plunger and arranged for maintenance to come in while we were at breakfast. She was gracious to comp us breakfast for the trouble. The WiFi worked great, we had no issue using it. Our room was clean and modern and the bed was very comfortable. We had the pleasure of having Hector bartend for us one evening. He was such a pleasure that we came back downstairs for cocktails and conversation the next night too! Great customer service from the time we checked in to the time we checked out. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few days for school. Everyone was extremely friendly including the people at the front desk and housekeeping. Everyone always greeted us with a smile. The rooms were very clean and spacious. In addition, we had no issues with the Wifi connection especially since I needed it to do homework. Parking is free and the hotel is located near a bunch of restaurants.
