Overall, everything was very good. Staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The issue that I have is the inflexible cancellation policy. As a business traveler, management needs to understand that schedules can change. I had two options. Cancel the room, get charged for one night's stay and email the general manager to request a credit or continue with my stay. In their defense, the cancellation policy is clearly stated when you book. I will simply choose a hotel that is more flexible cancellation policy in the future. We came up to Hershey to visit HersheyPark at Christmas and chose the Hampton Inn due to its close proximity to the park. We had a very easy time finding it on Chocolate Avenue and parking was ample. This hotel is also pet friendly, so we saw a few dogs coming and going during our single night stay. Breakfast was great! Lots of good options, everything was hot and fresh and the attendant made sure everything was full and clean. She even brought out a prize box for my 2yr old son! The woman at the front desk was very nice and didn't mind that my son was running around the lobby playing with the other kids. Our room was clean and there is free wifi! Most other hotels make you pay a fee for that! As a 30-something, I appreciate free and fast Internet service. There was even a computer in the lobby that I used to print out our park tickets that we conveniently left at home. The sheets and duvets are freshly laundered between guests and there were plenty of towels in the bathroom. The pool had great hours 8:30-10pm and there is a 24-hr fitness room. Free USA today to read while you have breakfast too. There's a little shop next to the reception desk with snack and drinks, which is great instead of having to dig for quarters for the vending machines. read more

A terrific value! Checked in late and Will (or Willis, didn't catch his name) was a big help in getting us a crib and explaining where to park, how to get to the room, etc. Free internet, NO extra charge for dogs, super close to Hershey sites (about two miles from park? Maybe less?) and a generous breakfast buffet with fruit, yogurt, sausages, waffles, etc. Didn't make it to the other facilities, but for $130 including tax it was an excellent deal, especially since the room was immaculate, spacious, and well above what I expected. read more

I really loved staying here. It is REALLY clean! The rooms are very, very comfortable. The beds are soft with plenty of pillows and soft sheets. The bedding and towels are laundered every day (whether you want them to be or not). The staff is absolutely the BEST! The complimentary breakfast is far and away the best hotel breakfast around! I have been on a 2 week trip from San Antonio touring Virginia, DC, Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. This Hampton Inn has been the best place we have stayed so far, BAR NONE! The price is very reasonable. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast is lavish. There is even a convenient snack bar in the lobby in case you get the late night munchies. I am a total believer and I will definitely give Hampton Inns in other locations a try because of this one. read more

This the second time we've stayed at this Hampton Inn. However, we are a little disappointed with our stay here this time. Compared to other Hamptons they fell a bit short. First everyone was very nice and polite. Check in and check out was a breeze. The room was very clean and the bed comfy but the toilet had the wrong size tank lid on it. Exposing the inside workings. Really ? Second was breakfast. Sunday morning it looked like a bomb went off in there. Food all over the counter, most of the hot items were empty. On young lady trying to keep up with everything and unfortunately failing. Your supposed to be a world class hotel chain. With a full hotel of people you should have been better prepared. What we did have was not good. As a result once we checked out on Monday we went to another restaurant for breakfast. We're not sure if we will stay here again on out next visit. read more

I'm a severe high risk and with the pandemic on and hotel regulations for the COVID-19 this hotel had me and 2 others in room 224 with VOMIT chunks on the sheets, bed skirt, and floor!! then I demanded another room so we had to lug all of our stuff ourselves to the third floor down an long hall then turn then down another long hall then turn and down ANOTHER long hall just to get there, and I'm handicapped!! That room had food crumbs in the sheets and a huge ball of hair on the bathroom floor. We had to reserve the pool and we only had 20 minutes not even that to swim. I was so grossed out by the foggy ness of the water and balls of gooey muck and so so sooooo many dead bugs in the pool I got in seen and got right out!! Ever since sleeping there 1-2 days later I started getting sick. The hotel refused to let me speak to a manager. Said there was not one there and she was all they had. And to top that all off they over charged me over what I was told and then they charged me TWICE and refused to refund me!! read more

This hotel has bed bugs. We checked into room #338 after a long day at the park. Upon our arrival we got to the room to see that it was dirty. There were crumbs in the the corners. There was a battery under the mattress and a muscle/leg roller under the curtains. It was not vacuumed. There were yellow stains on the bedding and blood stains on the pillows. Then there was an obvious bed bug crawling on top of the comforter! It was overall gross, dirty and I did not stay. Once a hotel has bed bugs all of the rooms close by have them too. We brought the bed bug to the front desk and they had a underwhelming response. They said they would "call someone" when I asked them how they would remedy it . Our entire sports team was there with their families so I wanted to see what they would do to ensure no one else would have to deal with bugs in their rooms. They only had 1 other room in the whole hotel that was a king bed and would not work for our family of 4. We were left stranded at 9:30pm with most other hotels sold out in the area. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed the weekend for a soccer tournament in August. Our bed was broken, our sink stopper was stuck closed and wait for it.......there was BLOOD on my pillow and the wall!!! Upon leaving our room we also found half full water bottles and hair ties under the bed. You could not have gotten me out of there fast enough. Extremely disappointing stay at this hotel. If you are going to be pet friendly, please get the owners contact information or something. There were 2 dogs barking all night on the 3rd floor in an adjacent room so I literally got no sleep. The Hilton app said that as a Hilton Honors elite member, you get 2 free bottles of water, not a huge deal but the front desk person literally argued and was extremely rude about this when I asked. The walls are really thin so you can hear your neighbors talking... I would not stay here again. I can't believe the help desk refused to do anything except apologize when there were 2 dogs barking from when I arrived until I checked out, on a floor that supposedly does not permit dogs.... read more

Check in was a breeze as we selected our rooms electronically. Lobby looked big with games and tables. It ends there. We got to our suite only to find that the air conditioning unit was leaking water making a soaked 3 foot carpet around the window. So we immediately tried to call the front desk but the phone didn't work. ( they weren't repaired the 3 days we were there) I had to physically go to the front desk down an awkward hallway setup and extremely slow elevator. Maintenance came in 10 minutes. He said he could fix it in 2 hours or we could move another room. However the other room was on the opposite end of the hotel. With 3 grandchildren under 4 we wanted to be close at least. We waited and he fixed it in under an hour. Maintenance gets 5 stars. Walls are thin heard crying, screaming, barking .... heard it all. The hotel was very crowded and could not accommodate everyone for breakfast. I felt bad for the person trying to refill everything. Food was mostly nonexistent. Waffle batter was everywhere. Even the coffee was loaded with grinds. We had our do not disturb sign on our door until we went for breakfast at around 9:15 ish. Housekeeping was in our second suite next door when we removed the sign. They never came back to clean. We got back to our dirty room at 4 p.m. from a hot day in the park. I had to go back to the desk only to be told that housekeeping was still cleaning. Fifteen minutes later the housekeeping manager came to our room to tell me that everyone went home and she could give me towels and take the garbage. She told me our room wasn't clean because our sign was out. I told her it was removed early in the morning and she argued with me that the sign was out. Her staff never came back to our room if they saw the sign earlier in the morning. I saw them when I left next door. I asked her to have the manger contact me but was informed there was no manager on duty. I walked down to the front desk to ask for the manager myself. Nope not here. Manager will be in tomorrow at 12. How convenient check out is at 11. They offered to extend our stay until 12 so I can speak with a manager. Manager claims" we are better than this". Gave me a $50. Per night per room discount. We paid over $300 a night per room. There was more wrong but this review is too long already. read more

Not doing this hotel ever again. I coach a travel baseball team and rent 13 rooms at a time every other weekend. I also travel frequently for work. I know a good hotel when I see one. This isn't it. I knew when I pulled up that I would have to hear it from the Merriott lovers. The straw that broke the back to write the review was the front desk lying to me that the printer was broke. I need to print two pages that had the teams lineups for the game the next day. They told me that they were no longer required to have a business center so they just don't, and that the printer at the front desk was broke, yet they print receipts for customers as they check out. They charge 240.00 a night for a room and they have no restaurant, no bar, no business center, TVs are older than the 12 year old tv in my basement, Remote didn't work on the TV, Hotel and rooms smelt terrible like chlorine, they placed me on hold and never came back, food crumbs in the room, bathroom door didn't close,, exhaust fan didn't work, electrical plug in bathroom didn't work, parking ws terrible, and the layout was confusing. Not what I am used to from a Hilton branded hotel. They need to do some serious work here or take the Hilton name off your hotel and put up Super 6 read more

My husband, two boys and myself stayed here overnight while visiting Hershey. There's lots of parking and is located next to the Hershey Pantry (highly recommend). The staff was great upon checking in. The room was exceptionally large and accolades us very well. Very clean. The courtyard is beautiful and our room gave us a view of it. The only downfall was that it's pet friendly and someone's dog was barking the entire night. I would suggest they keep pets to one area of the hotel as it woke my two small kids up. read more

Let me start by saying the staff deserve 5 stars, however the hotel stinks!!! Nothing of what I expect after seeing online photos! We first checked in to one of the hotels king suites on the first floor and immediately could hear a dog barking next door and children running and yelling in the hallways. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. The room in general looked beat up! The staff at the front desk were very accommodating and quickly moved us to a different room on the third floor. The room on the third floor seemed to be better kept, however still with it share of concerns. Again the room looked worn.... there were cobwebs on the ceiling, mold in the shower, and the bedroom heater smelled like it was burning at first when you turned it on. Finally, the walls are paper thin!!!! I could hear the neighbor next to me sneezing! Might be great if you have to travel with a pet or children and want to save money. However, if you have some room to splurge I HIGHLY suggest it. read more

I have stayed at Hampton Inn before and I have never been disappointed. The room is nice and clean and spacious. My room is on the first floor, but from where I had to park to where I came in not a big deal to me. What is a big deal to me is the paper thins walls. I could hear the people next door to me, and you can hear the doors slamming up and down the hall. The hotel allows pets, and I have a dog and cats. I am a let person let me start by saying that. But I can hear whoever's dog barking down the hallway. I am here for business and I am not sure if I would stay here again. read more

Not what I expected from the usually predictable/ reliable Hampton chain. Room was nicely furnished but unfortunately it needed a deep clean. The inside of the bathroom door has been destroyed from a dog who was obviously locked in it, and hen you get passed that the bathroom wasn't even clean. The linens were also pretty scratchy/rough. The hotel overall also needed a deep cleaning and the breakfast staff needs a refresher course in customer service. A surly woman was put out when asked if they had any eggs that didn't have meat in them. She said she would check, then left and never came back. read more

My family and I stay almost exclusively at Hilton locations. This particular location is above average for the Hampton Inn properties. Staff are friendly, rooms are clean, breakfast was well prepared and serviced and the location is conveniently located. There are some small things that require some maintenance, however, these things are expected and it felt that the hotel staff where in process of doing their routine maintenance. We had a great time. Check in did take a little longer then we thought as someone was brand new and still training and left unattended. Took about 10 mins with our toddler and bags in our hand we were really hoping for a easier check in. When we go to the room it looked great but in the bathroom, there was a great amount of dust and the corners of the bath were gross. Especially the fan for the bathroom was FULL of dust. The beds were nice and clean. The pool was packed the whole time during our stay so we skipped that. Breakfast the next day was awesome. We got there before the huge rush of people. There's something for everyone to pick from from eggs, muffins, bagels to waffles. The drinks however I'd stay away from, my daughters juice and milk tasted water downed and the OJ I got tasted the same. Coffee wasn't that great either. But all in all I'd stay this was about 3 stars. We would give this hotel another chance! read more

Truly, thought I entered the twilight zone entering this hotel. Parking lot was poorly set up and spots were located far away from entrance and limited!!! Came for a concert at Hershey stadium and was flustered to begin with. They sent us up to a room with the bed broken!!! That's right, after a long drive, imagine walking up to your room and the bed is broken... After making the horribly long and hot walk up to the room we called and they told us just to come back down. And we even asked to be put in a room closer to the lobby and they put us in a room two doors down from the one before. They never once apologized or did a thing to make it right. They just went like oh, ok, we will just put you in another room. And acted annoyed. Then the next morning the girl at the front desk asked "how was your stay?" And we said "well the original room the bed was broken." And she just said "oh wow." That was it!!! Why even ask if you don't care? Horrifying. Breakfast was edible that's about it. Nothing special. The hotel was undergoing renovation and I had one of the renovated rooms. The renovation work though didn't impact my stay at all. The staff was very nice. The only issue I had was the breakfast. My family and I stayed at this hotel the last weekend in September to take advantage of Hershey Park's last weekend open for the season. It was located less than ten minutes from the park, which allowed us to stay later at the park than we could have otherwise. The hotel itself is right on a main road and located right next to a restaurant for those who might enjoy a nice evening eating out. The hotel is neat and clean and decorated nicely. The lobby is nice and open with plenty of seating and a lounge area. The dining area seats plenty, especially important as they serve a delicious continental breakfast that varies from day to day, but offers some regular items as well. The serving times are from 6am to 10am so everyone will get a chance to eat before venturing out each day. The pool was not huge, but it wasn't busy either. It also had a spa pool for those looking to relax tired muscles. It was open as late as 10pm! Because the pool was located at the front of the building and had both windows and glass doors, people outside were able to view hotel guests as they swam. I might suggest privacy shades that let light in so the guests maintain a level of privacy in all locations within the hotel. We loved the pool regardless. There was a small fitness center next to it, which would be sufficient for a quick workout on the go. There were also bathrooms near the lobby, which I like because sometimes children have to use the restrooms when you're not conveniently sitting in your hotel room. Another nice feature in the lobby was the small store, which came in handy for drinks and snacks. I have to mention the front desk staff were always friendly and helpful no matter the hour. I was able to select the room fitting my reservation criteria from the Hilton app, which was awesome because it worked out to be the best location for my needs. I stayed next to the elevator/ice maker but did not find this a noisy location. It's location was convenient for quickly filling bottles with ice, throwing out trash, and running kids up and down the elevator after breakfast and swim. I also didn't have to share two walls with other guests. I never heard anyone above or below me for that matter. The room was clean. Although, I'm a bit particular about cleanliness, I found it clean enough for a short stay. The fridge seemed a little variable in its cooling capabilities, but nothing spoiled. The TV has some 40+ channels of entertainment. It also had a microwave and coffee pot. There was a small closet holding an iron and ironing board as well as about seven durable hangers. Extra linens were stored there as well. There were two full length mirrors and a bathroom mirror so that a group of six could get ready quickly. It was a spacious room for six and held a couch (with pull-out bed) and two queen beds. The room had a TV tray, two rolling ottomans, and a comfy rolling computer chair with desk so the whole family had a place to eat or sit and watch TV. The room had a controllable thermostat for both heating and cooling, which was awesome considering temperatures are variable this time of year. There were plugs and charging stations everywhere in the room. This is a big deal because we bring a lot of devices on our trips. I didn't have to unplug any hotel electronic to make room for my things and nothing valuable had to sit on the floor to reach plugs either. There was room on the bathroom shelves for only four sets of towels, but hotel staff willingly supplied anything I asked for. I might suggest a couple extra hooks in the bathroom to dry wet towels and swim suits perhaps, but otherwise, the room served every conceivable purpose I had need of. My overall experience at this hotel was great and surprisingly the best part of our trip. If we ever decided to give Hershey Park a second chance (as the park was less than stellar), I'd stay at this hotel for sure. Thank you for a wonderful stay! read more

Generally, a decent stay, but for the price that we paid, I've stayed in MUCH better hotels. Pros: 1. Many options for breakfast, abundant seating, and it will be fully stocked until breakfast hours are over. 2. Location - very close to "downtown" Hershey, and everything we wanted to go see and do. 3. Can't forget the Otis Spunkmeyer cookies at the desk! 4. The Hershey Pantry restaurant next door - don't waste your time driving anywhere else for dinner - it was the best we had by far. Cons: 1. Parking in general is haphazard and random. 2. Add to that the fact that their "Elite Parking" actually allows access to the entrance steps to be blocked, and it feels like the "Elite" will be catered to, while us "Normal" customers don't really matter that much. Why else would you design the parking so that the "Elite" space closest to the road forces everybody to walk AROUND the car to access the entrance steps? 3. Elevators - slow as molasses - many times I took the stairs and beat my family either to our floor or to the lobby w/o breaking a sweat. 4. As has been mentioned before, a dreary dated look with a musty smell in the rooms and the hotel itself - overall poor ventilation in general. 5. Our trip started with finding that there were 6 busloads of children in the hotel. I can tell you that they were definitely on our floor, with doors banging and loud voices, jumping on the bed all night long. Follow that up with a circus at breakfast time (that made us go explore the Hershey Pantry next door rather than eat there), and I'm glad they were only around for 1 night. Yes, not the hotel's fault, but expectations should've been made clear to the chaperones. So, all things considered, we'll visit the Hershey Pantry on our next trip to Hershey, but it likely won't be from the hotel next door - we'll find a better value next time than this Hampton Inn. read more

This was a below average experience. Check-in was fine. The room was ok. There was a pretzel in the corner of the room left by the cleaning crew. The bathroom fan didn't work which was annoying and also caused the bathroom door to be covered in bubbled paint (ugh). The bedding was nice and the air conditioner seemed quality for a little while. During the night every 1 1/2 hours the AC would make a terrible loud vibrating sound for about 10 seconds. It was just enough to wake you up. The first time it happened my husband jumped out of bed in a panic. I slept about 4 hours in spurts. The elevator near our room also stopped working. They did note this on the elevator door but only on the main floor...thanks. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was definitely not worth the $240 I paid. read more

Overall OK. But not enjoyable. Room smelled a little bit (must/mold/funk). Also the plumbing was poor and toilet clogged (surprisingly - it wasn't in heavy use - also our friends toilet clogged too). The game room was nice on the surface, but the only game worth playing was the pinball. The breakfast food was ok, though. Not expansive, but cozy. Coffee was pretty awful. I stayed here for one night in October 2014. Thank goodness it was only one night! The hotel is VERY dated and is in desperate need of a renovation. Rooms were not very clean and there was a mildew smell in my room. Parking is somewhat a mess, too. They have at least a dozen spaces "reserved" for top tier Hilton Honors members, but those spaces block the side entrance to the hotel. Also, the hotel staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I was in town for the Hershey Half Marathon, and when I checked in, I asked if I could get a late checkout (I only wanted 30 minutes!). I was told to call downstairs the next morning. Of course when I called downstairs the next morning they declined my request. Definitely won't be coming back! read more

Eek, Yikes OMG yea that is right I took a video of the hallway from inside my room with the door as closed as it would go. CREEPY. Very dated and our room was ventilated with CHLORINE air from the indoor pool. We stayed about 7 hours including packing stuff to the basement where we were told to park to the room and back. We tried to sleep but on top of the painful toxic chlorine poisoning (because it did burn our sinus and pulmonary tissue) the fridge was so loud we had to keep the TV on. No option to just unplug it in their wisdom the plug was behind a huge entertainment center. I have pics of LARGE stains on the ceiling chunks of tiles missing just gross hotel what a shame we love the one in Park City Utah. Yikes read more

I've stayed here twice and that's two times too many. Both times I arrived late in the day (after 3pm) and the room wasn't ready either time. Yes the check in time is officially 4 pm but most hotels can accommodate guests much earlier than this. If you stay here don't plan on checking in before 4, maybe later. By 3:30 pm the lobby was filled with displaced travelers waiting for a room. This hotel is way overpriced for what you get. At $250 per night the rooms (after we finally got one) are cramped, the breakfast is mediocre at best and staff were not accommodating. read more

I stayed here last night with 3 friends because we were making a trip to Hershey Park. The location of this hotel is super close to the park, less than a 10 minute drive. Glenn at the front desk was very friendly and professional, really nice guy. The breakfast was good and convenient, as well as the hot tub which we went in about an hour before checkout. I would definitely stay here again if I ever make it to Hershey in the future! read more

I loved my stay here. I was in town for Christmas and was supposed to stay at The Hershey Hotel with the rest of my family; however, I needed to bring my dog along with me, and THH is not pet-friendly. So I hopped on the google and found this pet-friendly gem! The lady at the front desk when I checked in was sweeter than a Hershey's kiss - she upgraded my room free of charge! My pup and I loved our room! It was a suite, so we had lots of room to play. The king sized bed was pretty great too! I indulged in the hot breakfast every morning, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. Egg white frittata, western-style omelette, greek yogurt, bagels, sausage patties, bacon, biscuits - the list goes on and on! And it was delicious. Honestly, it was maybe one of the best Christmas morning breakfasts that I've had in a while. My family staying at The Hershey Hotel didn't know what they were missing. Great room, cozy good selection of tv channels. Breakfast was amazing. Water pressure in bathroom was superb. The washer and dryer were the first ones on a cross country trip starting in California that we did not have to redo a cycle for any reason. Simply amazing to see. My son bought a toy from Hershey factory and needed a screw driver to open it and the front desk had one for them. When we go back to Hershey we fully intend to stay there again. read more

The staff was super friendly, however the accommodations were not good at all. The room was dirty upon check in, but we were early so I figured they probably rushed the cleaning. There was used soap and clothes left in the bathroom and the floor was obviously not vacuumed. We let the desk know and when we returned they assured us the room was clean. When we came back in the immediately visible areas were vacuumed and the soap was disposed of, however hair remained in the unused shower and stuff was on the floor all around the beds and furniture. The front desk was very apologetic and offered to come clean the room again. We declined as it was a long day and we just wanted to sleep. The bathroom had no fan or ventilation so towels wouldn't dry. The smell in the room was also musty; probably from the moisture in the bathroom. I don't know if we just got a bad room or not, but the floors in the hallway also looked like they hadn't been vacuumed. The breakfast was okay at best. There was no meat on the second morning and very limited selections, although the lady running it was very nice. I'm writing this review simply to make sure people know since there were so many great reviews. read more
