On this trip I was greeted with stained chair in the lobby and a not so fresh room. There were handprints on the bathroom door, brown platter on the wallpaper and the bedsheets were not fresh. I expected to smell the light scent of bleach on the sheets and a cozy feeling bed. Instead it was musty and rough. Our family made the best of our stay here. The staff were so nice. The pool area barely had any clean towels the whole weekend we were there. The pool itself was cloudy. I don't know what happened but I hope they can turn things around. Unfortunately my family will be looking for other hotels in the area next time.

Seriously, there is nothing close enough you can walk to, so if you stay here, you'll be jumping back into your car to head out for a meal or shopping excursion. But having said that, we had a very satisfactory stay here. It started with plenty of parking spaces, a complimentary goodie bag at check in (cookies, pretzels, and water) and also included complimentary lobby coffee. Our check-in process went smoothly, our room was very nice, with a good-sized desk/workstation, flatscreen TV, excellent HVAC and WIFI, comfortable bed, surprisingly big bathroom and a good shower. The included breakfast was more than adequate, with a waffle station, scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, three cereals and toppings, bagels, apples, bananas and yogurt. We were very satisfied with our stay and the value. Improvement Opportunities No breads, English muffins, pastries, etc. Bagels or Bust! Our bathroom door didn't really close without a struggle. This is my second time here…read more First time was in 2023 and they were renovating the lobby area and there was a wedding. The wedding was loud and disruptive until 10 pm. Breakfast was in a conference room with impromptu tables and chairs. It was a weird experience back then. This time, it had improved. The lobby is finished and it looks nice and updated. Very modern. The restaurant is done and clean. Breakfast had some clean and relatively new silverware. The experience this time was at least better. The rooms are not done renovating yet and it is still outdated. As of this date, they are still working on Floors 4 and 5 and 5 has been closed off. The location isn't too bad. It's great for golfing which I think is why people like coming here.

We didn't indulge in the Continental breakfast just because we were involved with family stuff most of the day but they definitely let us know and, we appreciate that. We went upstairs to our room. They knew I was coming and ready for me. All the staff were very friendly even when we got in at three in the morning because we were out with the family just having a good time and they're awake ready to talk to you was super nice. The only thing that I would point out was that the was not working during our stay, however they did have staff that was available to transport our luggage upstairs. We didn't take advantage of it because we packed very light. They were ready and they placed us on the second floor, so it wasn't too many stairs. I looked at it as positive in the overall because I got a small Workout in so, for us it wasn't a huge deal however, if we were on a higher level, it probably would've been something to think about. AMAZING!!! The beds are literally so comfortable.. the pillows, sheets and everything. It's SUOER clean. Everyone is soooo helpful. There is tea and coffee 24/hrs a day.. they have dog treats and make them feel super welcome. About the staff.. since I stayed a week I got to know some of them (I already told you how amazing Zach was) The front desk staff that I got to know was: Flesha, Nikki and Jim.. Flesha is SUPER helpful, super nice and literally can answer any questions that you may have.. shes so nice and easy to talk to.. she's AMAZING! I would always look forward to seeing her when I got back to the lobby since I'm new to the area and she was always so helpful! Nikki is the sweetest! My party of three stayed for Independence Day 2026 holiday weekend. Country Living Inn is located on Old Philadelphia Pike off Witmer Road in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Customer service is average. No breakfast is provided, but there are restaurants within the vicinity of 151 ft. to 5.6 miles. There are no shortage of wooden rocking chairs on the front porch and in the room. It has a "grandma" look for the decorum, Amish quilts and rocking chairs. The rocking chair gave me a headache to add to my existing motion sickness from the long-haul car ride. It is reasonably price for $200.00 per night of two queen size beds. There are complimentary coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and pink lemonade for beverages. There are brochures, pamphlets and maps of local area attractions for Pennsylvania tourism. I did pick-up some local area maps and printed area attractions pamphlets. Business card is available for grabs. There is a cork board of community events where many local business plaster to affix their business cards. The door mat in the porch contains a large pineapple as their business logo. Absolute farce! From a marketing perspective, a pineapple does NOT symbolize anything country. How about suggestions red barn and windmill, wheat sheaves, cornstalks, mason jars, tractors, wooden plows, wooden wagon wheels, white picket fences, cast-iron skillets, horses, water wells, tractors, and silos which symbolizes agriculture and farming that is regional to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. I have seen many silos during our long-haul car ride throughout South Central Pennsylvania. The hotel provides a wakeup call, my party did not utilize as I have grown very accustomed to awakening at 4:40 am every business day morning for over one decade. This hotel is not ADA accessible as my party of three schlepped one flight of stairs with our luggage and bags. There is a communal microwave by the stairs for guests' usage. The room and hotel itself is quiet for equanimity state achieved as a temporary home away from home. I did felt phlegmatic while the world was chaotic in fleeting times and re-charged when resumed my life's challenges of my Sisyphean task. All in all and overall, I was content. Room features: Air conditioning - It was at artic chill blast high functioning to fight the Northeast heat wave oppressive humidity feel noticeably more comfortable. My party of three did experience brief stints of power outage including reduction of electrical voltage where the room's lights flickered several times. After one hour of settlement in bed, I felt brutally cold and used all available fleece blankets and quilt. I miss my comforter and quilt. I did wake up at 3:00 am - unplanned. My sleep disruption were anxiety, stress, ruminating intrusive thoughts and especially environmental temperature conditions which disrupt my circadian rhythm. Wooden rocking chairs - There is a plush cushion on the rocking chairs for comfort and one small round table. I desired a normal non-rocking chair, PLEASE! Flatscreen TV - I have no interest for TV being nonchalant as I have a strong proclivity for my predilection of Yelp, writing poetry, writing my journal, YouTube and checking my emails which surely kept me intensely busy. Housekeeping - It is clean and afternoon service performed with provided clean dried towels, despite placing "room service please" door tag. Small refrigerator - It is functional to chill our bottled water and fresh fruit purchases from local farmer's market. Hair dryer - I did not use. My long hair became extremely matted with knots from the plaguing Northeast heat wave every day. I used conditioner which did not work. I used hair serum which also did not work. However, I detangled my hair using my hand to manually separate and divide into 4 to 6 sections with my vented hair brush in utter raging fury and patience. Oh! Property amenities: Free parking - It is a decent size lot as spots were available during our South Central Pennsylvania visit. Free WiFi - It is not very stable sustainable continuous connection as after the brief stints of power outage resulting no signal that there were many drought periods throughout the night continuing throughout the next day morning. I did overused my mobile phone data limit as I received a data warning notification message. Oh! The WiFi drought was despondent for my four Yelp stars. Non-smoking hotel - Thank goodness for non-smoking policy and Country Living Inn has a country whiff of Pennsylvania air. It has a low noisome odor of horse manure emanating from the nearby unseen horse stables of Amish country. Oh!
