This is the second time I've stayed here. The rooms are so quiet, so it's delightful to stay here, I love pulling in at night and falling right to sleep. The guest service is 5 out of 5. They always greet me, and check on me. The breakfast is hot and it's nice to catch some news on the morning while I eat. The lobby is a great place to stop and do some work on the computer, or chat with friends. I look forward to coming back each year. read more

The location worked very well for an event we were attending. It was a clean well maintained hotel and they assigned us the handicapped room we requested. The location was convenient for checking in after Sequoia and then heading to Yosemite. Be careful, bathtubs are slippery. On our first day, I nearly slipped in shower but forgot to warn my mom about it. Unfortunately, she fell, hurt her leg and finger, and landed hard on her side, so we had to ice her two hours before leaving for my cousin's wedding. I reported the issue to the front desk a few minutes after the incident. Evelyn immediately offered a 20% discount and said the bath towel on the floors are meant to be placed inside the tub for grip, which I've never heard before. At checkout, a different staff member (covering the front desk for someone while they were on break) said shower mats are available upon request (different from what Evelyn said) and they also found no record of the discount. He took my email, but I never received anything. So I later called and spoke with Flor, who was much more understanding, and she then let me know that they do not have record of the discount and that since we booked through Expedia they can't do anything about the booking charge unless we call Expedia and they make a report and they confirm the incident. Well after waiting a while to get support from Expedia, then telling them the situation, they spoke with Flor and essentially let us know that we would be getting equivalent to a 6% discount of what we paid. At the end of the day, getting the discount doesn't matter that much. What matters was the lack of seriousness that someone can get hurt, mixed communications, and not holding their promise on their end. read more

The room was clean. We got there late, so didn't have time to enjoy the pool which I hear is open 24 hours which is a nice perk after a long drive. We were just tired. Downfall was there was no hand soap only shampoo and condition. First time I've ever been to a hotel world they do not hand soap to wash your hands. It is 8pm and I am still not checked, there is something wrong with there system my card was not going through even though I called my bank & they had told me they approved of these transactions but on there end it wasn't working. There's something wrong with there system I find it odd I wasn't the only customer that it was happened too. They need to fix there whole transaction system. went in friday night and checked out saturday . we came here cause it was recommended by family . me my partner my 4 month old and my 22 month old. never on the phone did they let us know there was no hot water. we came in to check in the employee was super nice and everything. again no one told us about no hot water there was no signage nothing! as we are unpacking and im turning on the water to give my kids a warm bath i realize there is no hot water. i called downstairs employee told me "give me 10 min im going to call maintenance and see whats going on" 10 minutes went by... 15 and still no call. i called again and the employee said "there is no maintenance on the premises or on call so there isnt anything i can do" i asked what time does maintenance leave for the day ? they said 4pm ..... okay soooo you came in at 2pm (your shift ends at 10pm) and he left at 4pm and you guys didnt cross paths and notify you ? i mean its a biggggg effin deal that a hotel like this one doesnt have any running water in 44 degree weather... we traveled from 4 hours away and we just wanted to relax and sleep . keep in mind i checked -in in the evening and the employee acted like they didnt know there was no hot water and no one told they and its news to them .. turns out the next day that everyone knew that they had ordered the part they were just waiting for it to arrive . as i was downstairs a few other customers were complaining about no hot water . i told the employee why is there no signage to let the people know theres no hot water that they shpuld put some up they said "were not allowed to do that" miss maam youre not supposed to check people in and not let them know theres no hot water . they blamed it on 20 year old pipes .. you know what we had to do get hot water from the bar cause it was late and i already had my kids ready for bath so yes we filled up the ice bucket with hot water to run a bath for my kids . unbelievable. at first they wanted to give me 20% off clearly i was unsatisfied with that then 40... i eventually asked for a compt room since i knew they did in fact know about the no hot water situation and still decided to check us in and take our money. the next day we checked out the room was in fact compt. this review is based upon the hotel and how they handled the no hot water situation . the employees i dealt with were super nice, accommodating (as best as they could i guess) and overall the hotel was clean the front desk ladies went away from the front desk to fluff pillows and make the front look presentable. so i do appreciate that . read more

I rarely write reviews, but after the experience my family and I had at this hotel, I feel compelled to warn others. We stayed here last night, and while the hotel itself is fine, the customer service was absolutely horrible. Around 3 AM, my uncle left the room and accidentally forgot our room number. When he went to the front desk to get assistance, the lady at the desk refused to let him back up to one of our 3 rooms, claiming she would call the rooms to verify. However, she never called. The front desks lady was an older white woman and was very rude. As a result, my uncle was forced to sleep on the lobby couch for the entire night--completely uncomfortable and utterly embarrassed. It's one thing to have security protocols in place, but when the staff fails to follow through on their promises or treats guests in such a dismissive manner, it becomes a major issue. This hotel might have a nice facility, but when it comes to guest experience and customer care, they completely failed. DO NOT STAY HERE! We checked in for 4 nights and the checking process was very easy however we were not informed of the following things: 1. They do not do any housekeeping unless you request it which I would've understood had it been explained at check in. We arrived at our room and housekeeping had not been there to provide us with any coffee, cups, towels or toilet paper. 2. Breakfast in lobby says until 10am however we went down to lobby at 7:50am and they said sorry its from 6am to 8am. My husband and I looked at our watch and it wasn't 8am yet but we were told there was none. I understand Covid has brought many changes but the hotel needs to find a way to replenish items without being told by Isabel at front desk that you have to go get everything yourself. I called to ask Isabel about the items we did not have including towels she told me to go down and get them. I went to lobby and and once I was there she asked me to come back to 5th floor and gran the dirty towels to take them down to lobby before getting clean ones!! Really? I could not believe this I mean if anything she could have told me when I called on the phone and was told to go to lobby. I Will never never stay here again. By the way we have stayed at other hotels during covid and this bad service is by far the worse I have ever seen. My only complain was that there is a train that passes right behind the hotel and passes by often especially at 2-3am daily. It sounds its horn and it's impossible to get a good night sleep. The room had been recently remodeled and was beautifully done with rust colored tall headboards and the walls painted a deep taupe. The bathroom was sparkling clean and I thought that the barn door style was clever. The room had a long table for a desk, and needing a table to eat our dinner, we moved the table between the beds and used it as a dining table. Worked great! The staff was very friendly and helpful and what I really appreciated was the $100 deposit for the dog was REFUNDABLE unlike the other hotels in the area. I booked this room through a travel site and I was very impressed! I'm originally from Madera and came back for a wedding, this hotel has gone through so many changes and this is by far the best it's looked in a long time, in my opinion. The staff was very friendly and the bartender was very knowledgeable about places to eat that were still open late. The decor, the breakfast, around the clock gym access, all for a very reasonable price, what more can I say? It really made the feel at home being in the heart of Madera. Do not use the irons at this hotel. I started to iron a dress I was to wear as a wedding guest just one hour before the church ceremony. As I placed the iron (which wasn't even as hot yet), it made a HUGE hole (my dress melted)! I cried! I have NEVER had that happen to me. I didn't know what to do since my dress was ruined and the wedding was to start within an hour. I luckily had a friend nearby and she let me borrow a dress. Needed a place to crash before going to Yosemite the following day. This location is easy to get to. Seems fairly new. It took a long time to check in, and I'm not sure why as there were two employees at the front. One seemed to be just watching what the other was doing, maybe training. They have the nicest la Quinta gym I've seen. Actually has a decent set of free weights. The room was very large and clean. Bed was comfortable. There was some occasional train noise, but didn't bother us at all. Breakfast was very small compared to other la Quintas. Pet friendly with no additional fee, which is amazing! They didn't have a hot tub or I would have given it 5 stars. People at the front desk were very nice. The breakfast was adequate but they didn't serve eggs. We used GrubHub for dinner. They delivered from California Grill and the food was good and delivered quickly. They just forgot to provide plastic silverware. Be sure to ask for some with your order. A really bad experience with this place we plan ahead and when we got there it was a whole different ball game. Seems like a bunch of rookies run the place blaming each other. Our room had a weird smell. But due to the fires it was hard finding another hotel at such short time. We were promise a called back to at least try and make it better for us but nothing yet.we were there for a hard time not to have an enjoyable vacation but this experience was defiantly at the wrong timing. No consideration what so ever. I know where we won't be staying when we head that way. Would be nice to get the callback like it was promise to make it better. First off if you stay here you will hear the train go by every 15 to 20 min if you're a light sleeper don't stay here. Secondly, if you stay here Beware their restroom doors are sliding doors with no lock and with silhouette window so if you stay with friends with benefits they will see you sitting on the toilet now moving on to the beds they can be lumpy, and for real they need new ones already but pillows were comfy. Breakfast is served in little trays you can eat in lobby but if you get the eggs they will be dry and with weird consistency and coffee is ok but their creamers not do good they were out of half and half it was just a weird vibe there. I have to say, when you are on a road trip and are looking for a decent spot to rest your head it is always a crapshoot. This hotel is great! Newly remodeled, modern, clean and the staff is great. Sam recommended a little Mexican restaurant for dinner with great food and margaritas and really took the time to make sure we were comfortable. Excellent spot if you are looking for a place to stay in Madera. Oh I forgot, reasonably priced and accepted our little French bulldog with a marginal fee. Definitely recommend. read more

The last time I stayed here was a few weeks ago. I have stayed at this location about 3-4 times for business. Being a truck driver most hotels are great to sleep in instead of the sleeper of my truck lol but this location is a step above the rest. Rooms are very clean, love the showers at this location as well. Beds are very comfortable. This location has plenty of parking and also plenty of eating options nearby, most you would have to drive to but there is a pizza parlor in the adjacent parking lot which is very nice as well There is a strip mall with plenty of restaurant and stores about 2 miles from this location which is also very nice because it is only a 5 minute drive from the hotel I always have one complaint coming to this hotel, the service here is not very good and this is why I am giving them a 3 star review. The last time i came here, i called the front desk because of some issues I was having in the room. I was put on hold,which I was okay with, after about 8-10 mins of being on hold I hung up the phone and walked down to see the front desk employee talking on her personal phone which I was very frustrated with. After having to go back up to my room and solving the issue myself, after being explained what to do, I walked back down and she was still on her phone. I hope the service will get better here because I feel this hotel would be a lot better if they did read more
