We spent a night here recently to attend a family event in the area and were satisfied with our stay. We paid approximately $140 for a 2 queen bed room and the space was adequate for our one night. The room came with complimentary breakfast, which wasn't spectacular but did the job: coffee, cereals, powdered eggs, sausage and a cool waffle making machine. Also, free on-site parking, which seems to be rarer and rarer to find nowadays at hotels. Overall, a decent place to stay a night or two if you're in the area. read more

This place SUCKS. They built it practically on the shoulder of the 99 freeway. I have the TV on along with the bathroom fan on and I can still hear the roar of the freeway. When I checked in I asked if they had anything that faced away from the highway and the answer was no. Not in a king room. I said that I would take any bed configuration and his reply that if he changed my room to a different bed type my rate would go WAY up. The front desk person was less than helpful. I've never had that happen with Hilton. I am a Diamond member with Hilton and gold with Marriott. I guess I'll think twice before I make this mistake again. read more

So frustrating when one remembers to bring their pool chemical tester and the spa is unfit and unsafe to be in. We gave the persons at the front counter the information. They ensured maintenance would take care of it. We test again after waiting for them to fix it, and nope nothing changed. They got two stars due to cleanliness in the room and the lobby. The persons at the front counter were polite. Due to not being able to enjoy ourselves on our get away since we only stayed here due to pool AND SPA. Won't be back; if you believe what they say will make right? Don't know if you should. :( This is how they treat emergency workers. Not cool. read more

I've always found hotels within the Marriott brand to be reliably clean and well maintained, and this hotel was no exception. All the rooms at this place are suite type accommodations, with a separate living area and a bedroom. Given that, I thought the rooms here were actually somewhat compact, as I would have preferred a traditional hotel room, such as you get at a Fairfield. At this hotel, I think the living room area essentially gets unused and the bedroom area is very tight. Nevertheless, I thought the hotel was just fine. There is ample free parking and a free breakfast is included. There is a Black Bear Diner restaurant directly across from the hotel in the parking lot, so you can just walk over there for dinner if you choose to do so. read more

We had another amazing stay! Christopher checked us in and he was a 10/10 -- super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The bed was incredibly comfortable, everything in the room worked perfectly, and the shower had great pressure and temperature. The entire hotel is always spotless, and the breakfast is consistently delicious with plenty to go around. We always feel right at home here. The hotel is nice, it has clean rooms, those are the only positive things I can say. This is not the first time for me staying in this hotel... I try to avoid it because there is always something wrong, from the TV cable to the internet signal and I had 2 colleagues that had their car broken in different times at night parked in the hotel property where personal things were stolen and of course the hotel is not responsible . Today, again the internet wasn't working either in my cell phone or in my tablet; an error of no security would show up and don't let me connect to the Wi-Fi... This is not the first time that this happens. Again, the hotel is not responsible because it is a third party company and the lady at the front desk didn't have any clue on how to help me neither have any idea why it was happening. (Maybe I am the unlucky to have this problems.) My suggestion... Unless you really have to stay in Madera and want Marriott points, ( be sure to park your car in front of the entrance door and have luck with the Wi-Fi...) If not, go to the newer Hampton Inn a couple of miles away and be happy that everything is good. read more

This was without a doubt one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in lately. From the check-in to the huge and clean rooms and the large balconies you can't go wrong with this place. It also has a Big Bear restaurant next door but unfortunately it was closed due to the COVID-19. The only bad thing is the noise from the freeway if you have the windows open but otherwise I have no complaints. I loved the layout of the room and all the amenities plus the bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in a long time. While I'm not planning on coming back anytime soon, I'll make this my place to stay while in beautiful Madera. 4.5 Stars for reasonably priced rooms and friendly service. Enjoy. read more

We stayed here due to unforeseen circumstances and our stay here was enjoyable. It was clean and that's the main thing for me. The beds are comfortable and finally a decent shower in a hotel. My kids enjoyed the heated pool and jacuzzi. Staff is friendly and helpful. Especially the guy on swing shift named Christopher that checked me in on our first day. He helped us with anything we needed through out our stay without hesitation. Great employee. read more

Checked in on Thursday the 16th of May and was told the elevators were out of service. They have been waiting 2 months for the state to clear the repairs. 2 MONTHS. They told me its on their website, but I couldnt find anything. So I lugged my suitcases upstairs and found the ICE Machine was out of order. Had to go to other floors for ice. SO back down stairs to get ice. When I got to my room and went to their website I noticed the rooms were $20 or more LESS than what I booked 2 days prior. Bed was very uncomfortable and the front decked could of cared less for my inconvenience. Dont think I will every stay here again. read more

I have stated here before but this time I was very disappointed. Being a busy traveler, I arrived at 8:45 pm to check in. The restaurant next door was closing so I went to the hotel store. They were out of all of the frozen microwave foods. As a hotel, they need to stock up on their foods at all times for late night travelers. Got there and was told sorry your team cannot bbq, go across the street and bbq on the dirt road. The pool bathrooms kept locking out the kids repeatedly and we were told to tell out kids they have to pop out the locks. AC didn't work in some rooms, beds were stiff and pillow were not comfy. They charged the wrong account and my member points never loaded on the app. The front desk clerk Abby was so rude. We had an ice chest and cases of water at the pool area and she told us we could use the exit to take out the cooler but not the cases of water or all the other items we had for our team that's was staying there. This business trip started off on a rough note, third party booking by mistake scammed and overcharged me for three nights, I had specifically asked for a two night stay. The room was dirty, dusty, bathroom floor was a filth. I cleaned and disinfected the room due to Covid precaution. My room wasn't cleaned due to Covid guidelines, I wasn't aware of this. The hotel supervisor was rude, and disrespectful, when I asked for clean clean towels, the second night. I'll never stay at this filthy hotel. Stayed here once before roughly 3 years ago. Decided to stay here again due to the spaciousness we remember and price. Since the last time we were here, the hotel looks a bit worn down. The room itself was clean. But the fixtures and decor were outdated and it shows. The employees were very friendly and they still have free breakfast. The only hot item were pancakes. Everything else was pre-packaged. The employees bag the items you want, so there is no guests touching anything. Overall, not a bad place to stay. [Review #138] This review pertains to their customer service & public facilities. We had to make a pit stop to change my LO. The front desk receptionist was kind enough to direct me to the restroom. I docked 1 star because they didn't have a baby/family-friendly restroom or changing area. I had a bit of trouble balancing my newborn on the sink counter while cleaning him. IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS: That's why it's important to have a changing pad for sanitary purposes since you never know what kind of conditions you're faced with if it's not a "family establishment." I believe this suites hotel caters to the business traveler. The lobby lounge was nicely color-coordinated in a sea of blues & greens, decorated for the holidays with silver tinsel/foil trees on the bar & coffee tables, with a white Christmas tree welcoming the hotel guests. I sat in the lounge nursing my LO without being disturbed. The current music streamed in (at just the right volume) from the ceiling speakers. I felt comfortable & relaxed feeding my baby. The closest Marriott property we could find to Yosemite National Park, which was 1.5 hours of driving. Like all other Springhill Suites we have stayed at, very clean and spacious rooms, with complimentary continental breakfast. I travel for work often and this was one of my favorite places to stay and work. They let me have an early check in as I got done with work early that day. I saw previous reviews of noisy trains but I was in 226 and it was not noisy- you could hear the soft bell of the train occasionally (I happen to like it) -it was NOT offensive or could any way lead to insomnia- I didn't even really notice. The room was quiet, I could come and go without problems, it was clean and the staff were very courteous and nice. I forgot my work credit card and had it mailed to me at the hotel and it all went very smoothly. The gym is a small closet so I ran outside in the neighborhood as if there is one person in there, that is too many with it's small size. The breakfast was great with options such as boiled eggs, a quiche, and to-go burritos. I love how there is coffee, water, tea, and hot chocolate available all the time. I liked the 12 pm checkout time. There is a nice desk in the room to work and a little safe balcony. There is a tiny partitioned kitchen-like area with fridge and microwave. It felt private and safe and overall was a very enjoyable experience. Thanks so much! read more

We really enjoyed our experience at SpringHill Suites, Madera, CA. The receptionists at check-in (and check-out) were both friendly and accommodating. The room was very spacious and the decor was lovely. The couch has lots of throw pillows and there's a nice desk area which I really like. Even the internet service was good. My kids and hubby enjoyed the swimming at the outdoor pool with a jacuzzi. There's a fitness room, too but I didn't get the chance to check it out. My boys had a good night sleep and my first born even thought that we were home. When we woke him up in the morning, he said "Oh, I thought we were home, it's so comfy here." Breakfast was good but it was a bit crowded at that time. 'twas Memorial Day weekend, that's why... This was our first stay at this particular Springhill Suites and we will definitely return. read more

We arrived close to the midnight and the gal at the front desk was cheery and checked us in promptly. The lobby is open and clean with a snack shop. The entire hotel has a modern, clean look. Our room was pretty with a living room/office area with a partition wall to the sleeping space. We had a fridge in the room and the technology was up to date with outlets in the lamps and extra hookups to the tv. Breakfast is included and consisted of things like a waffle maker, scambled eggs, turkey sausage (tough), cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, lots of breads, whole fruit, and more! We stayed on a Friday night and with AAA discount and after tax it was only $87. A steal for a clean and comfortable hotel that includes breakfast! I would give the hotel five stars, but there were guests with three noisy kids running and jumping on the floor above us. The problem started around 7am, and the hotel didn't relocate them until about 10:30pm. The rooms are definitely nice, as the pictures should show. The design is fresh and modern. There is a well priced mini-market (if you want to call it that) - juice, soda, some small microwavable entrees. Pac 'n Save and Food For Less are both 24 hours and about 5 minutes away, so you can save tons of money by getting microwavable food there. There is also a mini fridge as well and a kitchen sink. The TV worked quite well - it was a brand new 42" LCD, complete with HDMI or VGA hookups for your computer or game console. The beds were soft, with pillows ranging from firm to soft. The hotel featured innovative LED lights for reading without waking up another person. The pool was clean and 86 degrees (and this is at 10:45pm). The fitness room has two treadmills, an eliptical, and some weights going up to 50 pounds. Continental breakfast is far better than most hotels offer. The free Wifi however could be better. The speed was horrendously slow and there were frequent disconnects. All in all, I would stay here again. And I almost forgot to add - the staff here is awesome. read more

Beware of Madera SpringHill Suites Marriott ! Second time giving it a chance and horrible. You get crap for breakfast options. Your toilet will overflow and not flush and housekeeping will give you a plunger ! The shower won't drain. The housekeeping will say they are leaving early so if your not out by 12 too bad room not getting cleaned ! Ice machine broken. Doors not locked with key card after hours. Nobody visible at front desk (she was busy making "cookies"). Fridge won't work so don't try to put anything in. Ac and heater don't work your stuck with room temp. Round mirror went out. We stayed in 131 ! Diaster from hell. Melinda Funentes the front office Manager says sorry gives a chance next time doesn't refund doesn't offer nothing. DO NOT STAY HERE. !!! We stayed here this past weekend, we were in town for my nieces quinceañera and found this hotel which was just an exit away from the reception hall. I got a good deal with my AAA discount. The hotel is nice inside and out. The room was very retro, the bed was comfy, had a nice balcony, a living room and fridge and microwave, coffee maker, all the other stuff too. I got the extra foam pillows which was great! I have no complaints, I do however agree that the walls are thin, you can hear your neighbors, luckily I had no problems until Sunday morning woke up to hearing my neighbor throw up. yuck! LOL but I had a restful night. I was very pleased with this hotel and not to mention there is a Black Bear Diner next door (see my review) awesome! I read one comment below who said the elevator was having problems. When we went upstairs it almost sounded like it was going to fall or something. Then the next day we had to take the stairs the elevator was out of service. LOL who knows what happened. But they should fix the elevator. I love this hotel! Right next to my work and all rooms have an adorable patio attached. So nice to have the door open and sit out there. Room is always super nice and clean. I love the pump shampoo/conditioner/gel bottles in place of plastic bottles. The staff has always worn masks making me feel safer during COVID-19. From the room condition, breakfast, to the overall staff service, this Springhill Suites does not measure up to the same standard that you expect from the Springhill brand. Had two different rooms: in the first room, the bed was dusty with lint and hairs while the king-bed room was unexpectedly small; in the second room, bath tub had multiple chips (see picture), toss pillows had stains, and grocery bags were left in the kitchenette cabinet. Breakfast variety was just bare: so-called egg and sausage, minimal fruits, tired attendant. At check-in, the desk agent was helpful and friendly, but at checkout, another desk agent paid more attention to Sunday morning football on TV than what a guest said. Finally, after you give a polite feedback to the general manager, no response. Suggestion: TownPlace Suites in North Fresno is a better alternative. read more

The location is off the 99 Highway between Fresno and Merced. The outside and inside appearance seem fine but once you walk in, the experience drops below expectations you would expect from a Marriott brand. I had to wait over 10 minutes before getting checked in around 9:30 PM. The young lady said she was by herself and had to clean a room for a customer. I felt sorry for her and she just wanted to get me in my room and skipped the usual trained jargon of greeting Marriott rewards members. The room was clean, quiet, but the bathroom sink was clogged. The fitness center hadn't been cleaned in several weeks, no clean towels were available but the TV screens worked on the treadmills. The morning breakfast was average, powder egg mix for scrambled eggs. The breakfast area wasn't well managed and the front desk person was absent because a female customer kept yelling 'hello' for several minutes before giving up and heading back up the elevator. I won't be staying at this location in the near future and already booked the next night for Fresno, even though I thought about staying one extra night here due to convenience of location. The management needs to improve at this location if you want people to appreciate this location and return in the near future. read more

These rooms are absolutely insane..... in a good way. Just ginormous with such nice decor and I love the way it's set up with a wall in between so you have more of a home office space which is great for me since I travel on business. There's a balcony, which is one of my personal favorite aspects. The bed is insanely comfy whatever mattress they use, keep using it. WiFi is solid, staff is extremely nice as well. The lack of the 5th star is due to 3 things. The breakfast, the shower water pressure and the slowness or the elevator. Now those sound like 3 super snobby things to point out but to me that's what would make a place a 5 star place. With all that said I would absolutely stay here again during my next visit to Madera. read more

Stayed 3 nights here in September. I've stayed at several Springhills across the country and this property has been a below average experience for me. The location is an odd one for a hotel. I had work in Fresno so I stayed here because it was on the way. It's right by the highway but only by an off ramp, so if you're going the opposite direction, it's not convenient to get to at all. Oddly they have super high security at this hotel. When they placed me at the very end of the hallway I parked my car in that end for easier unloading. However, even with a keycard, all the doors are locked past 8pm. So I had to carry all my bags around to the front. Since it was past 10pm the front doors were locked too. I had to wait for someone to come to the desk to let me in. It's not an area where his high of security is necessary. My second day there, I requested to have room service on the Marriot app. I then received notification that room service had been completed. I came back later that afternoon and it was not completed. I need to take a shower and as soon as I got in the bathroom, room service came in to clean, even though they already told me it was completed. I also had a lizard on my floor. I told a friend about this and she said it's just typical of California. I'm from Chicago where we have rat and bed bug problems, but it's still unacceptable for hotels to have them. read more

Stayed here for a conference in town and while the accommodations were more than sufficient and great the one thing that became quite apparent was the lack of training, protocol by the staff in the case of an emergency. Guests were abruptly woken up from sleep at approximately 4:25 am to the shrilling sound of the fire alarm. While I wanted to go back to sleep, this wasn't going to be the case so I scurried on to the outside along with others who wanted to know what was going on as we were displaced to the outside in the cold. It would only be a matter of time before everything was cleared. Meanwhile, the lone staff at the desk appeared completely flustered, on the phone and playing damage control all while the alarm is still flashing and blaring away, people continuing to ask and wonder what in the world is going on. Come to find out it was a false alarm yet who made that call to clear it? Certainly it wasn't the only employee at the desk who was running around like a chicken with his head cut off?! Folks were beginning to be restless and wanted to go back to bed yet there were those that stayed put at the lobby wanting answers and peace of mind, myself included so a gentleman firmly asked the employee at the desk that in order to be on the safe side to make the call to the fire department. After all was said and done, CalFire cleared it stating it was the first time the heater was turned on, guests made their way back to their rooms many of course tired, restless and disgruntled. The time from start of incident to end was almost a half hour. What a way to end my short stay out here but rest assured, despite all this I'll return but I would suggest continued training for matters like this and for anyone who's on call for the night can be immediately notified. Other than that I'll reiterate that customer service was good, needs were met and a nice place to stay in the middle of nowhere. read more

We were there for our 94 year aunt's funeral and upon our arrival we were surprised to see a bowl of snacks with fruit and a condolence card from the hotel.
