Decent hotel with friendly staff, clean rooms and complementary breakfast. Pretty good worthy of four stars. Bed mattress is a bit outdated, and rooms do look more like a hospital than a hotel. Overall not a bad choice

This is a good can't-go-wrong hotel. I chose this hotel over others in the area mainly for the whirlpool tub. I chose my own room when checking in via the Hilton app and chose room 207. When we got here, we learned that their was a microwave incident that resulted in extremely acrid smells on the 2nd floor. Luckily there was another room on the first floor with a whirlpool. This room's configuration is a bit different and the tub isn't as comfortable but it got the job done. I also got to say the bathroom is among the roomiest and best laid out I've experienced at any hotel. The walk-in shower (no tub) is large enough all around so that you don't hit the wall or doors with your elbows. The breakfast is also good. No made to order options, but the oatmeal is fantastic and there are other hot options buffet style. The dining room is huge and beautiful, with large windows. The staff here are extremely friendly! The person at checkin was very friendly, accommodating, and apologetic about the microwave incident.

The Hampton Inn & Suites in Richmond, Indiana is a nice place to stay if you're in town for work or vacation. They provide nice rooms, a workout center, public computers/work space, free hot breakfast, coffee/tea, and daily newspaper. A clean, warm bed, hot shower, and safe hotel are really all it takes to make me happy (#easytoplease). However, I got a king size bed, in a room with a whirlpool- yes please! I was more than happy with my room. The staff is friendly, considerate, and they work well under pressure. While in town for work, I watched several Hampton Inn staff members work magic to keep my team calm, organized and find us rooms- even though some reservations had been misplaced. Our group was there for an extended period of time, and the staff continuously did their best each day. If you're staying overnight, get a good room. (Richmond is the kind of town you'll want to find a nice hotel, as opposed to an Air B&B for example). The Hampton Inn is a great choice.

I must say that our experience at you facility was terrible. I called in advance - since we were traveling with our little dog - just to make sure the hotel was pet friendly. I was greeted by a person on the phone (named "O'Neil") who answered all my questions with one word replies. At no time did he mention that the hotel was "under construction/renovation." As we checked into the hotel - his demeanor was no better. As an FYI - when an employee works in the "hospitality business" ........that employee should be "hospitable" to customers. That was out introduction to your hotel. Upon checking into our room (Room 246) - my wife and I were shocked at the room condition. I've attached photos: - Entrance to room was not vacuumed - Bathroom vanity was covered in paint stains - Light on top of bathroom mirror was cracked - Walls in bathroom were cracked and in need of repair - Piping was rusted and covered with paint - Air filter over shower was filthy (possible mold) - Towel used for shower floor was ripped (I've used better towels for rags) - Door jam at entrance was cracked To make matters even worse - my wife and I had been traveling for over 12 hours. We were exhausted. I went down to the lobby to ask O'Neil if he could give us a cup of milk. He told me the hotel had no milk. That was a lie. Upon speaking to Everton & Dina the next morning - they informed me that milk is available - but hotel policy is to not share it with guests. I can understand this (although I've traveled extensively in my career - and I've never asked for a cup of milk before and been lied to and refused). Most vending machines were out of order (see photos). Signs in the hotel stated "Please Excuse Our Dust." I can honestly say that I've never been in a hotel in such poor condition in my life. If renovations were being made - I should have been notified in advance. Additionally, I should have not been assigned to a room that clearly was not in acceptable condition. To be fair - I place no blame with the cleaning staff assigned to our room. I'm sure they were doing what they could with a substandard room. I spoke to Everton on the morning of checkout. He was very nice and helpful. I also spoke to Dina - who made notes regarding my experience. On a final note - my wife and I went to the breakfast "buffet" on the way out. Equipment was out of order - and the orange juice from the dispenser was rancid (with a brownish color).

My daughter and I stayed in the first floor room that was the home's original dining room, and it was so pretty with lovely wood paneling around the doors and ceiling, a beautiful large tiffany window, and perfectly chosen furnishings. I was able to see several of the upstairs rooms as well and they too were very nice. The breakfast was delicious with the best orange juice I've had in years. If we should ever make our way back to Indiana, we'll definitely stay here again. One additional note: the town of Richmond IN is FULL of gorgeous old Victorian houses that could be refurbished into veritable palaces, much like the Smith B&B. There are also charming cottages from the early 1900s. In a way, it reminds me of Savannah GA in that there are so many lovely historic properties. If historic preservation/renovation is your thing, (and you're lucky enough to be retired or to telework full time), you should definitely check it out.
