Platinum member here & Check in was easy and there was plenty of parking for my truck. When I walked into my first room 312 I discovered it hadn't been cleaned yet so I went back down and they apologized and placed me in another room 319. It had been cleaned so that was an improvement. Sadly though the shower head I discovered was broken & I had to stand up against the wall to take a shower the next major issue I had was the bed. I spent about an hour in the bed before I literally couldn't take it anymore and ended up sleeping the entire night in the chair. The bed was like cement and my back just couldn't take it. Typically HI beds are better but these were brutal. Essentially I payed $150 for a chair. I informed the desk this morning when I left but they didn't offer anything for my trouble so read more

Conveniently location, I70 and HIGHWAY 40, The Historic National Road which is a great alternate to the interstate. The hotel was clean, pool and fitness center were, too. Cracker Barrel was within walking distance and a Shell gas and convenience store down the block. Plenty of well lit parking, I've never had any security problems at this location. read more

Beautiful hotel! Bed was very comfortable except-too many glowing lights from microwave, desk lamp, clock, bathroom nightlight, tv, and the door. I put clothes over most of the lights and closed the bathroom door, which helped a little bit. When we first checked in we were denied our military discount-not right! When we checked out this morning, it was applied. Thank you, Raquel!! The IHG site specifically says all veterans get a discount. Wide variety of breakfast items-however, a lot of items were over done, and juice glasses were too little. Everything was clean and again, the room was beautiful with an awesome shower! read more

The staff were amazing! Very clean rooms and a huge comfy bed!!! Pull the darkening shades down and sleep till noon if you choose. Only thing I would recommend is ask for a room on the west end as highway 40 can be a bit noisy. read more

I was very disappointed in my stay. I stayed at this hotel a few years ago when I was visiting family and had no issues. When I arrived, the lobby seemed clean and the staff was nice. When I entered my room, it smelled like stale cigarette smoke or maybe mildew - it wasn't pleasant. The footstool was dirty and looked like someone had bled on it or spilled something red at some point. But none of this compared to the fact that at 11pm another guest of the hotel entered my room. He was just as surprised to see me as I was to see him and he apologized profusely. I got a call 10 minutes or so later from the front desk associate, Kaye, who seemed to be confused about what room she put me in. She seemed to be fixing whatever mistake she made in her computer system while she was on the phone with me. After reading some Yelp reviews and a phone call to the motel I decided to stop in. Hotel Night staff at check in: Do you mind being on the 4th floor? Me: No...you guys have an elevator, right? Staff: Yes...with a friendly laugh. A nice clean room and bathroom with what one would expect in a nation wide brand motel. Although, the bathroom shower doors could close a little better. Price was reasonable for a king size single bed, which was pretty comfortable too. I had breakfast at the small dinner inside. Definitely not bad, everything was cooked and presented well. I called to see if there was availability here as I was on the road and the front desk person assumed me that I didn't need to give her my credit card at that very moment. Half an hour later, my dog and I were checked in quickly. The room was fine. The bed was comfy and the sheets were very silky. This location is so close to the interstate that you can see and hear the road noise. The HVAC fan in this room (319) starts up with a whine that woke me several times during the night. The toilet require you hold down the flusher so the bowl clears. I didn't realize that breakfast wasn't included, oh, well. When I was checking out, a maintenance worker and the front desk lady were so gosh darn nice that they get another star. There are a clutch of hotels right here (Hampton Inn, Best Western, Home2 Suites, Motel 6, Travelodge) but I generally find Holiday Inn to be a good balance of value and comfort, despite the minor issues with this one. read more

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel except for one thing. The website specifically stated that the Suite sleeps 5 people. What they left out was that fifth person would be sleeping on a chair. I'm an IHP member so I called guest services to get a reservation here at the Richmond location. First I asked could I get an upgrade to a suite. On occasion they do this for members. She said she would. I get here and that did not happen per her "notation". I did not mention it, but I would expect them to follow through with what they said. Secondly, for my consecutive stay with the IHG brand the pool was down for a cleaning! But I could drive a couple miles on a busy highway to another hotel. Gee thanks! I've been here for twenty minutes and I already just want to drive through instead of staying at this miserable place! One more strike or lie and I'm going back to Marriott. The front desk people seemed annoyed that I walked in, but I started the conversation and it was slightly better! Additions: We figured out the curtain, the bed was above average and the morning staff was great! I'm adding two stars to my review. Lastly our server Shannon did a great job with breakfast! For a Holiday Inn tier hotel this one get 5 stars! Must be either brand new or very well renovated. Stayed the weekend for a family gathering. We rented one of the ballrooms on the first floor for everyone to gather. Space worked great and was very modern and clean. Guest rooms were also well laid out and linens I thought were especially clean. I slept great here, especially after staying at a not so nice but similarly priced Quality Inn the night before near the Cincinnati airport. This was by far the nicest Holiday Inn I have been to, and in fact was the nicest chain hotel I have ever stayed at in 15+ years of business travel. Everything here is extremely predictable in terms of amenities, but the service was absolutely spectacular and made a huge difference. The front desk was extremely friendly- clearly there is some fantastic management because the night desk guy made me feel like an old friend. In the morning, the woman working was helpful and friendly. I was also ABSOLUTELY BLOWN AWAY by the breakfast here. While I am usually resigned to a lukewarm buffet including something that vaguely resembles egg, the breakfast here was a diner-style made to order breakfast. The cook, who introduced himself as Donnie, came out to meet us, chatted us up with recommendations, and even let us try some delicious truffles that he had made the day before. Our waitress, Deborah, could not have been nicer, more attentive, or more helpful in any way. If you are staying in Richmond, this is where you go, end of story. read more

My husband's family reserved a block of rooms here when we all came to Richmond for a family funeral. The hotel was really quite nice; I believe it had been remodeled about a year ago. The bar staff was very accommodating when we brought in pizzas and even let us bring in some beer/wine/pop as well. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and there's free wi-fi for guests. I doubt that we'll have occasion to stay in Richmond again but there seemed to be a fair number of regular visitors, as I overheard more than one guest rebooking another weekly stay. It's located right off I-70, with many restaurants nearby. read more

Definitely the nicest hotel you will find in Richmond, Indiana. I was shocked at the price ($150!!) for a weeknight hotel - especially since breakfast is not included. Walls were pretty thin - I agree with other reviewers who stated that. I am a deep sleeper and could hear someone talking loudly in the room next to us at 6 am. I did appreciate the free Wifi and comfy beds but other than that, nothing about the hotel blew me away. I probably wouldn't have a reason to stay in Richmond, Indiana again and would maybe think twice about it unless the hotel lowered their prices. read more

I stopped at this Holiday Inn in Richmond during a 12 hour drive across the midwest and midatlantic. The hotel was booked with IHG points and it was really reasonable! The hotel is right off of the highway. This is a positive thing for getting into the hotel ASAP after a long trip, but my room was a few hundred yards from the interstate. There are trucks traveling all night, and it was super noisy- BUT, I remembered to bring my earplugs, so I was able to sleep super well. Check in was a total breeze! There's a restaurant, a bar, and room service- all of which I did not take advantage of. The elevators are soo slow. Like, it literally took almost a full minute to get up to the fourth (top) floor. Speed these babies up! The room was cool, quiet, and very clean. I loved the setup. I had a bedroom, a living room with a kitchenette, and a lovely bathroom with a tub. Everything was perfect. I wish I could have stayed in the room longer, but I got up at 3 AM to finish my drive. I would absolutely recommend staying here! read more

I'll give it 3 stars so let me tell you why. Here's the bad first, in no particular order. 1. First, I was sent to the wrong room. Not only was it a single bed, when I have 3 in tow, but it was lived in and not cleaned yet. 2. Three of the four fitness machines were out of order leaving only a recumbent bike. Also, the TV in fitness room was out of order, too. 3. No coffee in the foyer. 4. Supposed to be a heated pool. Nope. Froze my wife, kids and me. 5. Both phones in our room were broken. Couldn't call the front desk or order food. 6. We did visit the pool multiple times even though it was freezing. Both times there were not enough towels despite few patrons. Now for the good! 1. The facilities are newer. 2. Everything is clean. 3. The restaurant is awesome. 4. The maintenance man is cool as can be. Polite and attentive. 5. The cleaning lady that did our room not only did great, she left us extra coffee and left a sweet note for my little boys. Summary, great facility and besides the bad points, the people is what elevated it from a 1 star to 3 star. read more

I'll start by saying that Juuan might just be the nicest, most helpful hotel employee I have ever encountered. Not only was he extremely helpful on the phone by making suggestions for rooms that would best suit our family of 5 (especially considering we have been traveling from CA to NC for the last week) but he greeted us with a warm, friendly smile even though it was after 10 pm when we arrived. Our room was clean and cozy, and Juuan had even made up the roll away bed and left us extra blankets. (It's below 0 right now.). What a welcome for my tired family. He even asked if we'd eaten dinner yet in case we needed help or suggestions. We slept like babies all night and had a delicious breakfast the next morning. (Kids under 12 eat free from the kids menu!). I used the hotel computers which were fast and updated, and we were off. Great stay! read more

This hotel was DIRTY upon check in on the first night. No extra paper products, trash pieces and coffee straw on the floors looked like no vacuuming had been done in a day or two. Asked to move to another room next morning and the carpet was in the same shape. Plus after cleaning the second night housekeeping again lefted no paper products and trash was not emptied. I also noticed on the maid cart NO vacuums. Don't depend on Mangenment to fix it! I am an IHG member and I will not be staying at this property ever again when in Richmond or driving I-70. I can't vouch for the rooms or a stay at this hotel. We attended a wedding reception here the other night. The room was small but workable for the crowd that was there. The service was great and everyone was very nice. I'd give them 4-5 stars. The food definitely left something to be desired. My steak was chewy, the chicken had a weird, slightly cold sauce on it. The veggies were super bland and mushy. The bartender was fun and friendly - they were serving a few wines from J&J Winery. I was having a white wine she compared to moscasto. It was okay - and I definitely drank plenty of it - but I honestly would prefer the $6 Barefoot brand. The facility itself seems very nice. The bathrooms were really clean. We would have stayed the night but they wanted almost $140 for the night! The price is ridiculous. read more

I received a complimentary upgrade to what I think they call a family suite which was a king bed with a separate room with bunk beds. This Holiday Inn was cleanand well cared for. The staff was very courtious and responsive to our needs. the Hotels was right off of Highway 70 and their was a Cracker Barrel restaurant near by for breakfast and dinner. The hotel had a restaurant, but the breakfast was not complimentary. Others said it was pricey, but as for me and my family, it was very reasonable with military discount. it was $99.00 a night, I am on the road each month and that is a very reasonable price for any hotel especially for one as nice as this one. read more

Just stayed here. The room was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly but we had reservations for a King Suite and it had been given to someone else, and there were no other Suites. We had to wait a good period of time at check in which was 3 pm because rooms were not cleaned. We did get a free breakfast voucher because of all of this but they only had 1 person working in restaurant and that took a good while. she was very sweet though. Just need to hire some more workers I think. read more
