I would have been more than willing to give this Hotel a better rating if the VERY NECESSARY elevator had been working. This is a 3 Floor Hotel so it is not easily accessible right now for many people and many reasons. Room was very comfortable when we did manage to get into it. All areas of the room were very clean, nice decor and aesthetics. Bed mattresses did not disappoint. Pillows were a bit flat. Breakfast was better than I expected. *Egg Flips with cheese *Pancakes *Biscuits and Gravy (bland) *Turkey and Trad. sausage *cereal, breads etc. The cinnamon roll was delicious and best thing served. Our car got broken down and we needed somewhere to stay meanwhile it was being fixed. The room was nice, the breakfast was OUTSTANDING the staff treated us like family and welcomed us to eat their amazing options. Young front desk lady was very nice to get us a room! One of the nicer hotels in town. Rooms are clean. Found some overlooked maintenance issues - broken ice machine and exterior entry doors that were either kept open or would not shut/lock properly. Not fond of having security concerns in a somewhat rural area - not knowing who maybe entering the hotel from the rear without management oversight. Seems like a liability they would want to attend to. read more

We stopped here after a grueling 12 hour drive from Florida, so it was late at night and we were tired. We were greeted by friendly staff and a quick check in. The room was clean. The beds were full size, so a bit smaller than what I'm used to, but that's ok. I'm not sure why they fold the pillows into tiny squares- that was odd, so I'm taking away one star for the uncomfortable pillows and bed. The shower was good with a nice pressure. There were plenty of towels and washcloths. The breakfast was good- they had bananas, so that's important. :) They had grab bags of breakfast as well on the way out. This is an older hotel, and it kind of shows. We had to wait over 7 minutes at the front desk as no one was there. I even went to the back office and couldn't find anyone. I tried calling the hotel but cell reception was horrible and I couldn't get a call through. I usually use the digital key, but that feature is unavailable at this hotel. Finally the desk manager came, but was not friendly at all. It almost seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder. The air-conditioning was kind of humid. Everything else was what you would expect from a Hampton. I wouldn't stay here again. I'll push on a little further to the next Hampton. I also didn't like that the breakfast bar was still served by a person instead of getting your own. It's time to get over the scamdemic! read more

I have stayed at this Hotel many times for business. This last trip was a disaster. I'm a Diamond Hilton Honors Member and I was told that it is preferred if I check out at 10:00 pm and go to another hotel because the manager wanted a tractor-trailer to park in the very small parking lot. 10 spaces were blocked along with cars that were already parked. This hotel has a Manager, Amanda Wolfe, and she does not care about Honor Members or the peace of her guests. This was once a nice property, now it's run like a Motel 6. Shame, I don't think Hilton would approve. But I contacted Hilton and nothing yet. I have video of the whole thing. If I don't hear something soon, I'm posting the video. read more

Unless you're desperate, DO NOT stay here!! Worst hotel I've ever stayed in! And I travel for a living! Avoid room 111 if you must stay. It smells like an NHL locker room after a full season of sweaty guys and hockey pads. Bed feels like a spring mattress from 1985. The outer pillow cases may be clean and bright white, but the inner ones.... Pros: -- In a small town -- Close to Applebee's, Shoney's, etc.. -- Facility looks quite nice when you walk in -- Rooms have the "I have been cleaned" sticker. -- Breakfast was nice, warm sandwich and kiwi strawberry water was fantastic. -- No roaches, as far as I can tell Cons: -- The bed in both of the Hampton Inn's that I have stayed - Ft. Myers, FL and Athens, TN - felt like I was sleeping on dead bodies all night. The bed literally feels like concrete, I wake up at 0300 and can't fall asleep until 0600, EVERY morning. -- The pool is so small it looks as if the ladders will be suspiciously deleted and you'll be left to drown "The Sims" style. -- If you leave for dinner parking will be extremely difficult when you get back. Parking is limited to the sides of the building and I believe they allow for semi parking - I saw one last night. read more

We made reservations THROUGH a the hotel, no third party vendor, 3/27 for a king executive suite. This was a non cancellation meaning we would be charged even if we cancelled. I thought this would mean we would have the room. Reservations with this hotel, Hampton Inn, and Hilton means NOTHING! We arrived just before three PM to be told someone was already in our room. They said sorry can't do anything about making sure you don't get charged because it was a non cancellation. I said I am NOT cancelling I want MY room I RESERVED IN MARCH! lol the two guys at the front said was sorry don't have it and can't do anything until Monday the manager is out of town and there is nothing they can do. the manager is the only one who can "fill out the forms". Thank goodness Holiday Inn Express is right next door. It was better because they had indoor pool versus Hampton outdoor. I will NEVER a stay at a Hampton Inn or any other property by HILTON! Reservations mean NOTHING To this company! And they don't care how it upsets your vacation or how many weeks you have to fight after the fact because it was a non cancellation reservation! read more

What a terrible experience it was staying here. I highly recommend staying somewhere else in Athens Tennessee. The hotel is a dump while under remodeling. The General manager was very rude and aggressive when I had a wrong billing issue. it took me 4 days to get her on the phone only after I called Hilton Corporate, the magically she was on the phone. I have been a Hilto Honers member for at least 30 years and have never been talked to that way. read more

Great experience until breakfast. I went to have my coffee and they had paper straws. Straw broke down in my coffee. Crappy straw and if they are so concerned with political correctness why was I given plastic fork, knife, cup and lid. Ridiculous!!! No concern for my comfort or needs. But they are "woke" and aligned with people who can't clean their own streets. read more

This Is a nice place to place to stay in Athens Georgia. The breakfast time is 6 AM to 9 AM Monday through Friday. However the staff had breakfast ready before 6 AM, which I really appreciate it. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit and excellent oatmeal and sausages. I appreciate the staff doing a great job of preparing the breakfast early. The staff was friendly and courteous. My room was large and clean. My only complaint was the lack of lighting in the room. My TV did give me a number of channel choices. This hotel is located along a quiet road near the interstate. I recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Athens, Tennessee read more

My brother and I stopped by here for the night and the staff was super pleasant and helpful! However when we got into our room it was small and cramped and very humid inside. The sheets on the bed felt like they were damp and it was just generally not comfortable. I definitely would not recommend this hotel, and it was not worth $130 after tax. read more

Best Hampton Inn we have stayed in. We stay in Hamptons almost exclusively. Stayed here while traveling over the holidays - very busy. In the past year a couple have disappointed us so we were concerned with trying a new one. This turned out to be a gem. The entire establishment is spotless. The staff is friendly and concerned that their guests are satisfied. Breakfast was typical Hampton fair but, again, spotless. Makes me feel a lot better when the kitchen is clean. Our room was just what we expect of a Hampton. Clean, great bed, and stocked with extra towels, etc. There is a Ruby Tuesday across the street. The management called us the day we left to make sure we were satisfied with our stay. Cannot go wrong here read more

This was a nice hotel, very clean and rooms were cozy. 2 reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5: 1.) the hotel has a cool lounge/atrium that all the room entrances overlook. There were some very boisterous guests watching a game there and it was 11 pm and my infant could not get to sleep for the noise! I called the front desk - no one answered. 2.) I LOVE A/C units in hotels. I love setting the fan speed on low and having that gentle hum all night. Unfortunately, this unit would not run consistently. It had a "low", "high", and "auto" setting. I tried them all, the air would not run for longer than 10 minutes. The auto setting is the only one that should cut off! Grrrr...whenever the fan cut on and off, my brain would wake me up from the noise change! read more

Made a reservation through their Hampton inn reservations at 10PM on October 1 tried to cancel on October 2 and was told I would have had to call by September 30 to cancel!!!! So in fact I would have had to cancel even BEFORE I made the reservation!!! Their 877 number said I had 24 hours from the time of the making of the reservation. Stayed here twice once on the way down and again on the return trip (Michigan-Florida). It is the perfect location to break up the drive. I travel a lot for work and try to only stay at Hamptons because the are very consistent and you know what to expect! On the way down was the typical Hampton experience (this is a good thing). Susan who runs the breakfast was super nice and accommodating to our daughters during breakfast . We had some issues on our return stay, but the management went above and beyond and made it a positive experience. We will stay at this location again for our next Florida trip. read more
