I would have been more than willing to give this Hotel a better rating if the VERY NECESSARY elevator had been working. This is a 3 Floor Hotel so it is not easily accessible right now for many people and many reasons. Room was very comfortable when we did manage to get into it. All areas of the room were very clean, nice decor and aesthetics. Bed mattresses did not disappoint. Pillows were a bit flat. Breakfast was better than I expected. *Egg Flips with cheese *Pancakes *Biscuits and Gravy (bland) *Turkey and Trad. sausage *cereal, breads etc. The cinnamon roll was delicious and best thing served. This hotel!! Where do I begin?? !!! Check in was very simple and quick, room was nice and most importantly, CLEAN!! Beds are comfortable and CLEAN! Good pillows too! Dove products in bathroom. Laundry has 1 washer/1 dryer. Both machines very clean and worked well. $1 to dry/ $1.50 for wash. On second floor near elevator. Indoor pool looked nice but we didn't use it. Others were and they seemed pleased. Breakfast was excellent. Full hot breakfast! If you need gluten free or something special, ask the staff and they will accommodate you the best they can! The hotel has recently been renovated and the 2nd floor room was very clean with no bad odors and the bed is very comfortable. Little outside noise from the highway but not bad . The lady at the front was a little gruff but not rude . Made sure to tell us to bring the hotel luggage cart back down ( which seemed unnecessary) . She did not mention us being Elite Diamond Members but I can overlook that . Me and my husband were headed to a B&B in Sevierville and had hoped to eat breakfast before getting on the road but the breakfast was completely put up at 9:30 . The lady tried to argue about it saying it was put up at 9:30 but that was false I came down at 9:05 and it was put up . They shouldn't advertise that it ends at 9:30 if they put it up at 9 . Pros first: We checked in super late, I had called ahead and warned them we would be. Get there on what would technically be 3-12 early early morning instead of 3-11, our check in date. The lady that checked us in was absolutely nice and sweet. Room was clean. Had all dove products in pump bottles. Hand soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash...  so if you happen to forget yours you are fine because dove is a great alternative. Plenty of towels and wall mounted temp controls to keep you comfy. I did not partake in breakfast, but hubby did. He said it was good and a typical continental breakfast.  Cons: We were to stay from 3-11 to 3-14. We checked out on 3-13 early morning because...  I have Multiple Sclerosis. The one elevator went out first thing when we tried to go down on 3-12 after we got up. Imagine me and my crappy legs trying to go up and down three flights of stairs multiple times a day. It's a big Nope. We are in town looking at real estate so in and out of the room. Decided to just go to our next hotel a day early and lose the money for this hotel for that day we had already paid. They did not have an ETA for when the elevator would be fixed.  So, as long as they have a working elevator it's a great place to stay. Otherwise...  no. read more

We stopped at this location after traveling for 11 hours. They were pretty full and the elevator was broken. Sherrod was working at the front desk who is amazing and went out of her way to accommodate us. She was definitely a highlight of our short stay. read more

Dont come here if you want to relax an all that is fine but if you want relax at a later time then what they say fine but they come up to an say you can't sit in their hot tub for 10 mins after their time they put add that your supposed to be spirited club for them they wont let you an they seem pissed cause you want to relax so I give them one star for that reason if you work all day you should be able to seat in the hot tube just for 10 mins or 15 mins to relaxed bed are hard an they appreciate you of your spared group but it whatever to them an we have to stay here so I wont stay here on my own but have to it might be against their approach but still its 10 mins in a hot tub to relax when I got the chance but no I couldn't.... read more

Very nice hotel. It is fairly new. The price is right, great accommodations, very clean, cozy, up to date, modern and chic rooms. Their fitness facility is nice and so is the pool area. Ordered pizza from Toscano Pizza and they delivered to our room which was a plus. The barbecue chicken is very tasty! My family and I had a great stay here. I give them 3.5 stars :) read more

Pretty poor customer service on the phone tonight. The lady was rude for no reason. I had called to check to see if they had a room for the night as I'd been driving for a while and was looking for somewhere to get some sleep and she pretty much just goes "we don't have any" and hangs up without another word. read more

It's my second time at this hotel and this time around has not gone well so far. On our way here, I realized I had forgotten to take a razor so I asked the front desk if they had one. She happily gave one to me but when I asked if they had shaving cream (because nobody can use that 5 cent razor without getting some painful cuts) she said they were all out. I'm sorry but how can you still have razors but not shaving cream? Then, when we got up to the room, it was freezing cold. I wish they would've had it at a moderate temperature but it was blasting the coldest air it could. I literally ran into the room to change the air to heat before we got all of our luggage inside. Later, I went to take a shower and was confused when the water started pooling at my feet. About a minute in, I realized that the drainage was closed. I tried opening it, but every time I let go it would fall back down. Eventually I figured how to keep it diagonal enough to let water flow. (And there was this weird bump in the shower that made me really nervous) And lastly, housekeeping put the curtains to the shower back the wrong way and now my pajamas are soaked. Bad way to start my trip. Other than all of that, the staff seem friendly, room seems clean, and it's super quiet. I'll give it three stars- maybe it's just a rough night. read more

In April 27, 2018, I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Athens TN @ or about 2:15 I was waken to something crawling on me I got out of bed went to the bathroom where the light is much better I saw that I had been bitten by bed bugs in the corner of my eye, neck, hand and arm I called the front desk to report this issue and the desk clerk told me there was nothing she could do about this cause bed bugs are everywhere now a days I said to her are you refusing to come down to my room and look at this the bed bugs are still crawling across my pillow and also the night stand the desk clerk told me no she could not leave the desk as she was the only one working tonight I washed the blood off of myself got dressed gather only a few of my personal items left the rest in the room out of fear that I would infest my car and home with bed bugs I got out of that room as fast as I could when I was walking out the front door the desk clerk said oh are you leaving so soon I said nothing in return just kept walking yes I was still charged the $129.00 for the stay I have not heard from anybody at the hotel on this issue and the way the desk clerk was acting gives my reason to believe that the staff is very much aware of the bed bug infection I am now trying to figure out how to file a report with the Health Department.... read more
