Let's start with the good. Check in was easy and the clerk was friendly. Hotel was easily accessible from the interstate and plenty of options for dinner nearby. I was thanked for being a Hilton Honors member and offered my complimentary water and snack. I did not made it down for breakfast but my husband did. He said breakfast was ok but there was a staff member sleeping in the area and another staff member telling him he could not sleep there and they argued in the middle of the breakfast nook. So not pleasant for dining. Upon arrival in room I had no top sheet on my bed. There was a maid in the hallway who said they were all in the laundry but no offer to bring me one. On our way out to dinner I ask for a top sheet at the front desk. It was busy at the time so I told them I'd pick it up on my way back in. It was ready for me when we returned. Shelves in the bathroom were dusty and the light over the sink was out. We called about the light in the bathroom. About an hour later a fellow came to fix it, said he had to go get the bulb, another hour later he returned with the wrong size bulb. We did not see him again until we returned from dinner and he was in the lobby. We asked about the bulb and he told us he didn't have the right size to fix it. But again no one let us know that. The small bottles of shampoo, conditioner on the bathroom were less than half full. I am pretty sure this is the first time I have ever left a bad review of any Hilton property. Clean bed and towels as it should be. The staff greeted me in a friendly manner and got us checked in quickly.

At first look, the hotel is in a nice little area of McDonough that is safe. Close to the store, shops, mall, restaurants and the freeway. We were here on a day with little hotel traffic. The staff was pleasant. The hotel looked clean. The rooms looked clean. The bed was middle of the road. Breakfast was OK. So, why the 3 stars? Everything was good until we turned the TV off. It was like we had the window open and were right in the emergency lane by the highway. WTH. I75 is always busy. There were cars and trucks driving by every second, all night long. I'm a very light sleeper so, you guessed it, I got no sleep all night. I really hate to give them such a review but I believe in honesty. Sorry. read more

We got to the hotel at 11pm at night and the staff were very friendly! They thanked us and gave us some water and told us to have a great stay! The breakfast staff was awesome! She went out of her way just to make sure all of the customers were happy and needless to say I was very happy with this hotel! 5 stars! Would recommend! read more

Check-in was cheerful and upbeat. Check-in starts at 3pm, it was around 3:15pm. When we went to unlock our room, the first thing we noticed was that the 'Room Has Been Sanitized' door seal was already broken. We unlocked the door and stepped in to see the drawers on the dresser were all hanging full open. The bed linens were rumpled as though someone had been laying on them. The toilet had been used and not flushed. We IMMEDIATELY stepped out of that room and went back down to the front desk. I talked to the same young lady that moments earlier had checked us in. I explained the condition of the room to her. I got the impression from her reaction that she didn't feel this was any big deal. The magic and cheer we had experienced on Check-in was now being replaced with something else. In addition to the room condition, somehow we had been booked into a Handicapped Accessible room by the Third Party Booking Website. I told her we did NOT want to occupy a Handicapped room and possibly deny someone who truly needed the use of it. This Front Desk clerk advised that was the ONLY type room that was available. I inquired "How can that be, since we are among the first to be checking in when Check-in starts at 3pm?" She went on to say that she could not take a room away from another guest...WHAT????, I thought? I again explained that we were pretty much the first guests to be checking in for that night and that the ACTUAL ROOM numbers are not pre-assigned and that since we were first in line there should be virtually a whole hotels' worth of rooms available... Things started to go downhill real fast from there, when FORTUNATELY a manager walked in and had noticed there was a 'situation'. The manager's name was Michelle. Turns out she is actually a part of the Sales Team. She took over, listened to me carefully describe the details, and promptly understood the gravity of the situation. Michelle ensured us she would put us into a nice NON-Handicapped Accessible room with no problems. As Michelle was working, I asked the Front Desk clerk, who was standing right next to Michelle, a question. What I got was a silent look, then a quick look away. No words, no other motions. (She was wearing a mask). THAT REALLY did NOT sit well with me! This girl had copped an attitude and I was now wondering WHY is she working in a public relations position? I had at no time been rude or otherwise disrespectful to her and I even tried to make her feel better when Michelle took over. Overall, Michelle put us back to square one with her efforts. Where we SHOULD have been prior to walking into that first room. We enjoyed the room she put us in. I sincerely appreciate her knowledge and handling of our issues. The beds are the BEST part of a stay at any Hampton Inn. We got a great night's sleep. BUT, truthfully? Since COVID-19, all hotel pricing has seen a decrease. Had this stay been pre-virus when prices were higher, I would NOT have felt as good. This property in particular would NOT have been a good value, to me. They tell lies and say they will make needed changes to your reservation, then they don't once they see that you used a booking platform such as Expedia. The result, being charged $187 for a stay you did not get. They didn't tell me the change wasn't done, then listed me as a no show and charged my credit card! Located just off the freeway with lots of restaurants nearby. Check in was pleasant (used Hilton Honors points.) Nice room, though we could hear the traffic on the freeway. Nevertheless, we got a good night's sleep. Breakfast was standard. We just grabbed some fruit and coffee and got back on the road. Overall, very nice place and convenient. read more

I stay at 100 Hampton's a year and 150 hotels a year. This was the worst part experience ever. It took 36 minutes to check me in. I checked in on my Hilton app like always. I got there and they said oh you can't have that room someone else is is in!! BS. The desk lady screwed up and when I says so she got bitchy. Oh are rooms aren't ready. It's 830 at night. Get your shit together. Stay away from this hotel. Go to the Homewood next door or lots of other options. I'm a Lifetime Hilton Diamond member and got screwed. read more

My wife and I stayed at the McDonough Hampton Inn on February 9th. We try to stay at Hampton if possible because they are consistently a good value. I've been a Hilton Honors member since 2000 and have never left a bad review. However, I was truly disappointed with this Hampton. Throughout the night, 2:00am 4:00am and 6:00am the controls for the a/c unit malfunctioned causing the room to feel like a sauna. I got up each time, attempted to adjust the cooling, only to have it malfunction again and again. After a thoroughly uncomfortable night I asked the Asst. GM at the front desk about Hilton's Satisfaction Guarantee. Immediately, Juliet became defensive and attempted to put the blame back on us for not calling the front desk for help. I attempted to explain that the problem happened numerous times, after I believed I had the thermostat adjusted. Juliet again began to lecture me about my responsibility and deflected by saying they were in the process of switching from unit controls to wall controls. I had taken pictures on my phone to show her the room had wall controls when she attempted to explain that the unit was controlling the a/c. This was the last thing I needed after a bad night's sleep. Juliet needs a bit of training in Customer Service techniques. A few days later during our trip we decided our loyalty to Hilton/Hampton had run its course after 24 years and we stayed at a Holiday Inn in Ooltewah, Tennessee, that was across the parking lot from the Hampton Inn. I'm certain our abandoning Hilton Hotels in the future won't impact the hotels' bottom line, but it will impact ours. You've lost a customer forever and we won't hesitate to explain to others way. read more

I checked in at 4pm, went and ate dinner. Got back to hotel & went into my room and another guest had been in it. The curtains were held open purposely with wooden hangers with what appeared to be an attempt to prevent them being closed and very noticeable from the parking lot. Very scary traveling by myself.... The other guest had obviously entered the room after housekeeping was finished and I'd checked in. Clothing & a duffle bag were neatly placed on the bed as well as toiletries in the bathroom. Wendell, the young clerk working was very professional and moved me to another room. This is a HUGE safety concern. I purposely stay with the chain of Hampton as I had not ever been concerned before. I'm aware one incident doesn't break or make a business or person. What if though this guest was in the room when I walked in and perhaps had a weapon? What if the room had been staged to commit a crime against another guest? Serious, serious slip up. read more

DO. NOT. STAY. HERE. I only booked here because of the confirmed connecting room promise. I even paid an upcharge for the room in addition to the ridiculous rates for this area. When I checked in, I did NOT get a connecting room - not even an adjacent room. The desk clerk (Tarita) just kept saying that I could go see if they were connecting - even after I was told they were not next door. She basically told me to take it or leave it - and would only say "What would you like for me to do?" She was completely unconcerned and RUDE. She would not even refund the upcharge for the room I did not get. She told me to call the manager on Monday - this was Saturday. She did not even attempt to find rooms close together. At this point the police came in about a "situation" on the 4th floor. No one was worried about that either. There were also a lot of people milling around the lobby at midnight. I asked for the manager's number and was told "same as hotel". I was already VERY uncomfortable having to leave two boys down the hall. Then I got to my room and it was WIDE OPEN. Someone had turned the deadbolt so that the door would not close. Even if I had been able to sleep after all of this, the hotel is so loud that I could not have. It is a complete dump. Even the waffle batter is so watered down that it ran out of the waffle maker when it was flipped. The manager eventually contacted me and offered me 5000 points. I told him that was unsatisfactory and he basically told me to contact Hilton. I still have not been refunded for the upcharge for the room I did not get. Hilton has also not been helpful. They have emailed me 3 times apologizing for my stay at the WRONG HOTEL - one at Las Vegas - where I have never been. Be warned -do not stay here. If you do and things go wrong - and they will - Hilton will not make it right. read more

Checking in at the desk was like pulling teeth....ID and hand me your credit card, when asked why she just chuckled and said for my added security. Finally got checked in. 2nd floor room, there is a young lady with all of her belongings scattered completely across the hallway looked like she was moving out from the looks of all of he belongings it appears she had been at the property for quite some time. I had to step over it to get to my room. I guess that's the added security. The room was overpriced, $200.00 with all of the fees. Thumbs down! Diamond member benefits not honored. We've stayed here at least 10 times over the past 2 years. It is very clean, nice staff, heated indoor pool all year long. Breakfast every morning and all day access to coffee. Microwave and small fridge in rooms, fire pit outside to sit by with family. Love this place. Only one con I must mention is the last time we stayed our key quit working everyday and for some reason we were on the check out list everyday for 4 days which is why the key didn't work. Very friendly and even called up to the room to make sure that I was happy with the room after I got to it. I used to Love Hampton Inns. This one proved to be a disappointment . My room was next to interstate 75! And, yes, I am now awake after 2 hours of sleep! The roar of trucks is constant! One more thing. There is a post it note on the bed that reads: Pillow case, sheets and Bed Cover are clean. I would agree with the first two - but The Bed Cover has been sprayed with Fabreeze too often to be clean. No will not be staying here again!!! read more

I've stayed here 4 times since it opened. All of the staff have always been very pleasant. If you are a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the interstate side of the hotel. The breakfast is always hot and has a good variety to choose from like the standard full breakfast that is included in your stay at all Hampton's--no extra charge for breakfast. This is a BRAND NEW Hampton inn hotel and it opened September 23, 2014, all reviews before that date is for the old building that is closed! I checked in earlier today and it was hard to find the location, but the front desk informed me of it being new they are working on it. Fresh clean sheets, brand new pillows, managers reception was a perfect touch but it's only Tuesday's and Thursday's from 5pm to 7pm. Decor of this hotel is stunning, fitness center is perfect and we'll equipped, guest laundry, business center, and a nice indoor outdoor pool. I am so glad my company found this hotel. We use to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn, but we are now staying here. Nothing topped it off for me than when I walk in to Checkin I was invited to the managers reception, so I went and grabbed a nice cold refreshing beer. Made my stay! read more
