Stayed here for almost a week and had a great experience. Nice staff, plenty of free parking, decent breakfast, 4 nice luggage carts, always have ice cold fruit infused water in the lobby, bathroom has lots of counter space, laundry is $3 to wash and $3 to dry card only. Breakfast review: The food was cold most of the time, lots of condiments/toppings like shredded cheese, hot sauce, salsa, nice yogurt selection usually two different brands and lots of flavors, if you stay longer than a day, the hot items usually are different each day. The 1st day the breakfast potatoes weren't cooked enough and the sausage was cold. The 2nd day no potatoes, barely any seating due to a large group, sausage was cold. The 3rd day the potatoes needed to be cooked longer, bacon was the thin kind, scrambled eggs, food was actually hot. The 4th day the potatoes needed to be cooked longer yet again, cut up sausage was really yummy. The 5th day they had small cheese omelets that barely had any cheese, regular sausage links, potatoes were cold, and not as many choices for yogurt. They have a waffle maker but there could be a long line if it's busy as there's only 1. Not enough seating for breakfast especially when large groups come and the tables and chairs are too close together that they're in the way and you can't walk in between. The staff are good about refilling food and supplies and cleaning tables. The breakfast is open 6-10am everyday which is nice. read more

I booked a room in November for December 13th, I had a serious problem and can't make it on that date and had to cancel my room, even though I cancelled it 2days after I booked. They charged me a cancellation fee of $110.00, the room rate was $114.00! I tried to talk to them and they would not answer me! read more

This has been my regular hotel when I travel to Atlanta for business because it is close to the office I work in. Never have had problems and always found the employees helpful and friendly. As a business traveler I don't ask for or need much. However I spent a week here and every day had to ask the front desk to replace the batteries in the fire alarm that was chirping outside my room all week. They seemed surprised that I'd ask. Hello? A job-working fire alarm is a problem, not to mention the annoying chirping. It was never fixed during my stay and I decided I'd never stay here again. I expect and deserve to at least feel safe in my chosen hotel. read more

The air in this room is downright soupy. It is so wet in here and the climate is poorly controlled no matter what my friend and I do because the thermostat is broken. The carpeted floors feel absolutely skin-crawling under our feet. The A/C is on full blast but the temperature is still unpredictable because we alternate between sweating and shivering. My asthma is definitely active here. Ants on the bedside table. We are never coming back! Hilton should disassociate its name from this property. read more

Horrible hotel with Rude staff. I checked into a room where the toilet did not flush, there was someone else's hair on the shower wall, the sink leaked and had a puddle on the floor, and the deadbolt did not work so the room was not secure. The hotel staff was beyond rude, and somehow told me that everything was my fault. I asked for a reduced rate on the room, and I was told it no one in the hotel had the authority to do that, and told me to call the manager. She never responded to me. I filed a complaint with Hilton and told I would get a response in three days. After five days, I followed up and was told that the hotel staff stated that they resolved the issues to my satisfaction, which is a complete lie. Nothing has been resolved. Don't waste your time and money, and don't deal with the health and safety issues. read more

We opted for an early check in due to bad weather and were given a room that adjoined another next to the elevator., which hums when in use. We are Hilton Honors members. There is no HBO, just Showtime. The hallways are noisy. There aren't any interesting, healthy restaurants in the area. The room is small and awkwardly laid out. Not a great Hilton property, in my opinion. Buyer beware. After 30 minutes, the manager called me back and someone helped us move to a quieter room, only because they had a cancellation. My husband and I travel a lot for work and we agree this is a 2-star hotel at most. The staff is not very friendly nor knowledgable about their availability. We were also told we would get a discount on our room by Bongo the manager although we did not. Bongo was friendly, however. The rooms were not clean and looked like they had been trashed by previous tenants (markings on wall, cuts on doors). The AC did not work. The bedding however did seem to be very clean albeit not comfortable. The hot breakfast was not good and the lady managing the breakfast area was a bit rude to have to deal with first thing in the morning. Stayed here for the week. Where do I begin? The room was incredibly small with no storage. Not even a night stand between the 2 queen beds with some drawers. So where am I supposed to put my weeks worth of clothes? The bed was literally 2 feet away from the door to the bathroom. The bathroom was updated was was missing a very important feature, a ventilation unit. Don't get me wrong, there was a hole in the wall covered by a grate above the toilet but it did not have a fan and was not controlled by a switch. So after taking a shower you had to open the door to let the steam out. There was mold and a pubic hair in the ceiling above the bathtub from when I checked in till I checked out. The air conditioning unit gives you the illusion that you are in control. It stays on 75 degrees. On the first day I set it to 72 but it stayed on 75 for the duration of my stay. The only good things about this hotel were the continental breakfast. It was comprehensive and yummy. And also housekeeping comes around daily to change the sheets and towels. read more

We were placed on level 4 so we had to take the elevator to get up. We took the elevator up to drop our stuff off so we could eat dinner. When we got back we tried to take the elevator back up, but when the elevator hit the third floor it dropped back to the the first floor, it was quite the scary expirenev wouldn't recommend for a first time hotel. read more

I just called to inquire about a suite at the Holiday Inn Atlanta-Northlake. The girl who answered the phone her name was Courtney. She was soo rude she didnt give me a chance to ask her. she transferred me so quick I couldnt ask my next question. I was very disturbed because Courtneys customer service was so terrible I couldnt understand how someone could be hired with such an attitude like that. The only thing I request is for someone to reprimand her. Tell her about the experience she gave me. I have visited Holiday Inn Express before and I did have a great experience. what encouraged me to come back was the great customer service I experienced. The narcotics use in and around the hotel property is unacceptable. The cleanliness of the room was not to any standard. Trash in the cans. No toilet paper on the hanger. Air conditioning would cool the room and made the room humid. Cleaning and vacuuming at 8:30pm is a little late for housekeeping. Again. Stayed here three weeks (finding a place in Atlanta is ridiculous) while looking for a permanent residence in Atlanta. I could complain but the positives are more than enough to outshine the negatives. The area is safe, the staff is professional but at the same time friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the maids staff is well trained, size-able and punctual. In comparison of a few other places I have either visited / considered or have stayed in, this is the best bang for the buck (and they are not expensive, either). They include a pool, gym, office, breakfast, a sort of happy hour where the guest gets free drinks and free parking as amenities. They also state they include wifi, but its pathetically slow and limited unless you purchase upgrades, which only apply to three devices per "subscription". The negatives are uncomfortable beds (they are clean but you'll wake up with a backache). Breakfast is free (yay!) but much of the prepared food isn't that good (especially the eggs out of a can... blech!). Pool is small - and I never saw anyone cleaning it. There's a little old folks home smell to the place. The face bowls have virtually no water pressure and do not drain well. Some details could be upgraded, like sloppy painting over old construction and vents / access doors (I find that creepy in a shower). There is some kind of rough "pool" texture at the bottom of their tubs which makes a person not comfortable with taking a bath - who wants to sit down on that stuff? Yuck! All in all these are minor things (except for the backache every morning) that really don't make me want to take away any stars due to the positives - and most important to me; the cleanliness! Edit: Okay, the rough pool texture I found is sort of a standard down hurr, I have found out. Even the tubs in my permanent place has it. I just have never encountered a tub with a built in tub mat (I'm assuming) in all the years of my life on Earth until I came to Georgia... read more

Had the pleasure of staying here in January for MLK Weekend. Was a little concerned initially with the distance from downtown Atlanta, but it really wasn't as far as I thought. Yes, the hotel has been undergoing renovations, but they are nearly done. (They were working on the 2nd floor the weekend I was there.) The new rooms are very nice and VERY clean. I absolutely LOVED the shower - perfect temperature and pressure. Very quiet and responsive AC/heat/thermostat (thermostat unit on the wall). The free breakfast was wonderful to me, and the coffee was on point. I recommend if you want breakfast to get there a little early. Ample free parking - just let the front desk know what type of car you are driving. Bottom line: Room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. Everything worked. Loved it! read more

I've stayed at cheaper hotels that had nicer rooms. Customer service is super friendly and breakfast was delicious. BUT, the room was incredibly small, several things were broken, including the a/c. Instead of moving us to a suitable room, they brought us a box fan. It was 95 degrees F that day. Floors were dirty and things left behind from the last guests. so clearly, they didn't clean the room. I paid $130 and was not pleased. I did manage to get a full refund, so that's cool. Just don't recommend this place based on our experience. read more

The staff at this hotel is exceptionally pleasant and helpful considering that it is not Ritz-Carlton or The Peninsula. I appreciate particularly the helpful and kind breakfast staff, who were always courteous and willing to help. The breakfast was great with a good variety. The room was fine. I had no issue with anything in the room. The thermostat worked very well, and the beds were comfortable. The location is near quite a few businesses (Macy's, Target, a variety of restaurants, etc.) so it is convenient yet not noisy. It was a pleasant stay. I would stay there again and again if I can get the same price I paid before. read more

Came to this hotel on a first time spontaneous trip to Atlanta. Drove around lost trying to find a safe hotel for the night. Showed up at ten pm to a tucked away hotel. It was quiet and no one was out. Parking was well lit and open. Checking in was a breeze thanks so Kaydee and Nancy who were very nice to my overexhausted daughter and me. Everything looked clean and smelled good. Showed my AAA card and was given a rate of $98 instead of $109. After our five minute check in, we were given our keys and code for complimentary internet and we headed upstairs. Elevator was a bit rickety which worried me but seemed to work fine. The room was a bit small but the space was very well used. It was a room straight from ikea with a rolling bathroom door and closets made to look like part of the window. Every inch is well used. We had the room with two queen beds and sheets were crisp and clean. Bathroom was clean and had four sets of towels and new travel size toiletries. There was also a sign offering several other toiletries free if you forgot. The night was quiet. A/C worked beautifully. Room had a fridge, microwave, and small storage area. Woke up "late" and showed up to breakfast an hour before close (6-10). Everything was still pretty well stocked with everything from cereal to waffles, warm foods(eggs,sausage,pancakes), cold foods (yogurt,biked eggs) , and OJ or milk. I was very pleased with the amount of food and choices since we were late. Couldn't be happier with our stay here and we will be coming back! read more

This hotel does not give the Hilton Family hotels a good name. The rooms are tired and the grounds are not well kept. My biggest issue, however is with the management. My truck was parked in their lot in a well lit area and was broken into during the night. I should have guessed by the way the building looked that this was not a good location. I know that the management is not responsible of this kind of thing, and that it will happen on occasion. What ticked me off was that I reported the break-in to the front desk that morning and specifically asked to speak with the manager about it, not to complain but to find out if this had happened many times before. I was told the manager was not available, but would contact me. I left an email and a phone number and waited three days with not a peep from the hotel. I called and left another message and was told someone would call me back. That was three weeks ago today and still no word. If the management doesn't care about their guests and won't speak to me about my unfortunate incident, I'm guessing they don't want to admit that this happens a lot at this location. My recommendation is stay somewhere else. Atlanta has lots of nice Hilton Properties...the Doubletree a mile away is my usual go-to, but they were full this time. Now I know why they fill up and this Hampton has lots of rooms available. read more

Was visiting friends in Atlanta over the weekend and stayed here. They had a large sports group staying as well and by 9am there was no more freah fruit available for breakfast. Not impressed, when you know that you will have a busy weekend you should be prepared ahead of time. There is no excuse for running out. And now they have run out of hot sausage and omelets. I've stayed at this hotel a few times and while it is a bit old, the lobby has been updated. I agree that the rooms could use an update. As far as the staff goes, I have always found them to be friendly and accommodating and I usually get upgraded to one of their junior suites upon arrival. Location doesn't seem to be an issue in terms of safety as long as you are aware of surroundings and don't invite trouble by leaving valuables visible in your car. read more

This is such an awesome place! Got here after 9 pm and there was great coffee ready in the lobby. Front desk clerk Kay Dee was very helpful and even corrected my mistake on booking.com. the rooms are beautiful, the bathroom has a triple mirror and there's a convenient charging area on the nightstand between the beds. A lap desk is available for working on a laptop and they have free wifi! This is a great hotel with helpful staff. read more

Stayed here just one night, as my daughter was touring a nearby school. Staff upon arrival was very friendly. I was unhappy with the room, as I wanted two beds, he changed it for me right away, even having someone meet me with keys on the next floor so I didn't have to go all the way to the lobby. Great start! The hotel doesn't seem to cool the hallways, air was stuffy, and warm. Its not the normal updated Hampton Inn I'm used to, this hotel badly needs a renovation. The main reason for the two though, is a poor nights sleep. The refrigerator made noise all night long, and it kept both my daughter and I up. There was some street noise as well. At breakfast we found a very crowded small breakfast area, We waited in line, but when getting to the food there was hardlly anything left in the warming tray, we decided to grab a coffee and go. I would have stated upon arrival my unhappiness with the noise from the fridge upon departure, but the attendant didn't even ask me how my stay was. I figure if they don't want to know why tell them, I just won't stay at this Hampton Inn ever again. Not against the chain, just this particular hotel. I expect a quiet room! read more
