I'm so glad I found this hotel for our road trip from Texas to Florida. As our previous experience in Lafayette at a different hotel (also run by Hilton) was very unpleasant. The rooms were very well maintained, clean, well stocked and very most important. It was quiet! The ac unit here are new and don't make this obnoxious noise every time it turns on. We all got a good night rest before we head the road for another 7 hours. This place is literally in the middle of nowhere off the 90 and there are only few local food places available. But I'm just glad that I found this hotel that's conveniently located off the freeway and that allows pets. We will be back for sure when we travel! read more

I landed at the Lafayette airport from a long series of flights. I got my rental car and drove to this hotel. Arrived to the hotel at 12:30pm. I notice that their parking lot was empty. Empty. EMP-ty. I informed the lady at the check-in counter that I'm here to check-in. She presented with a response that could be deemed as overexaggerative and said "Oh no sir check-in is at 3:00pm and we were completely sold out last night". I'm a very seasoned traveler and I hate being lied to. You can't expect your Diamond Status customer to believe that your hotel has not a single room that is ready at 12:30pm with an empty parking lot due to being sold out the night before. EVEN SO, many hotels have their maids come in at around 9-10am and start the process of cleaning rooms. The receptionist then proceeded to tell me about "yea you know, they gotta wash it sheet by sheet and make sure it's all clean..." etc. Yea I've stayed at hotels where they have to do the saaaaame process, except they already have clean sheets ready to switch out because they're hotels that are PREPARED. You mean to tell me that your Hampton Inn only has enough sheets to go 1 per bed? I don't think so. Again, I don't like to be lied to to my face. Then she proceeded to tell me to do mobile check-in and get the digital key, when she knows I can't properly check-in with it. I asked her "Early check-in isn't available for Diamond Status members?" She replied by saying, "It's not guaranteed, it's only when it's available and you know it's kind of like staying a whole extra day if you check-in early like that". I'm looking at the time - I don't think I was taking advantage of a whole extra day by checking-in when your hotel is obviously empty and ONLY 2.5 hours before check-in time. What do you have to lose by allowing my tired self who has traveled so far to get to your hotel for this week of work, to check in only 2.5 hours earlier? Oh that's right, customer service points - that's what you're losing. So, I left, went to the starbucks 5 minutes away and waiting until check-in time. I didn't talk back or raise an attitude, I just respectfully left after she gave me her responses. My family and I had a great stay here on Saturday evening April 20th. We were visiting relatives in town and celebrating Lao New Year at the local Lao temple on Champa Rd. I was able to book this hotel online for a good rate which is always a plus. We checked in at about 3pm with no problems at all. The room was nice and clean with plenty of space for three of us. We got to enjoy the complimentary breakfast on Sunday morning before hitting the road back to Houston. We will definitely come back and stay with Hampton Inn Broussard-Lafayette again when in town. read more

Let me begin by saying that I'm an Hhonors member and usually stay at Hampton for business and so do my colleagues. I also stay at Hiltons for pleasure trips but also am a member of SPG and IHG. So I have some choices. My colleague is a Diamond Elite member and booked several rooms for us at this hotel, and negotiated a rate for an event we were working for a Sunday and Monday for 6 rooms, and we checked in on Sunday, October 22 in the evening. Getting to the hotel is easy, although the frontage road is a mess due to construction right there at the exit and the roadway. But no problem getting in to the parking lot. The staff were very friendly, the rooms are modern and very nicely done. I like the sliding closet door that has a huge mirror on it and lots of other small details. Overall, this is a very nice, new feeling facility. It's quiet and everything works as expected. Also, the nightstand in the middle of the beds (this was a queen double) has a set of USB chargers, which is a nice nod to the needs of travelers that I wish more hotels had. So why the negatives? The manager. That's it. When we checked out (rather, my colleague, who was handling all the travel arrangements), we found that we were charged not the negotiated rate but the rack rate - more than twice what we had been quoted. The manager - I forget her name - was adamant about this and said that the error was ours and that we all agreed to it when we signed in on Sunday evening. Well, true enough, none of us actually read the fine print on the check in slip presented to us. WE TRUSTED THEM. Meaning, it's usually just boilerplate that we have to sign when we check in and get our room. And she said, and I'm not kidding here: if you make the mistake, you have to eat it, right? Really? Well it turns out that Hilton corporate doesn't agree. We put in a call and they contacted the manager and put her on a conference call (this by the way, was a franchisee and not a company-owned property). The Hilton representative concluded that she was not going to be helpful, that we were correct, and so Hilton did the right thing and is refunding us the difference because they care about their reputation and their customers. So for me, if I ever stay in that area again, which is very likely, I will be staying either at a Hampton farther out, or at another hotel chain nearby. If at all possible, I will stay at a Hilton property because they have truly earned our business. Just not at this hotel. read more

We are doing a cross country trip and heading back home and decided to stop here. My family is picky for a clean hotel. This hotel is very clean and updated! Jessica was super friendly and even gave us a snack at check in! Beds are amazing, and the tub is a lay down tub. This is a plus if you want to soak in a nice warm bath. Little shop downstairs for snacks and necessities too. There are three plug ins integrated into the dressers and side tables that have regular plugs, USB ports, and even a plug in for an internet cable. Flat screen TV too! I would stay here again, and would highly recommend. read more

I hesitated to stay so far from my actual destination but glad I did. The hotel is easy to find and there is ample parking with amenities nearby. The staff was pleasent and efficient. The only issue I had was my key card constantly coming demagnetized, like every day, even though it wasn't near my phone or other cards. The lobby was clean as were the elevators (2 elevators) and hallways. The a trendy Mardi Gras colors were a nice touch. The room was very nice. The thermostat is controlled by a wall unit. There was a mini fridge, a place with wire baskets for food and a little cove for the coffee maker. No drawers, I was staying 4 days and had to live out of my suitcase, I hate that. There are two suggestions for improvment that both have to do with the bathrooms. Get a real door. Sure the barn door is cute and trendy but didn't lock and didn't close all the way, making showers even more cold. Add a secondary heat source to the bathroom, I like to have froze getting out and stepping on the icicle tile. The breakfast on the first day was mediocre, had to wait forever for eggs, the lady working seemed to more concerned with her daughter and grand kid's experience than actual paying customers. The second day the place was so packed we decided to go elsewhere for breakfast, the last day was the best breakfast! read more

Spacious and clean. The only downside is that the GPS couldn't find the correct turn and there's a ton of construction so its confusing. read more

After staying once I will not be coming back. The day after I stayed there I had 54 bedbugs bite. I called and spoke to the receptionist and tell them she acted like it was no big deal. The room also had a very musky odor. I was going to stay another night to give them another shot I canceled a few minutes passed the 6 o'clock cut off time. They would not refund my money. The customer service and management is absolutely shocking. When having to cancel rooms for a weather related event postponement, we were told they could not and would not accommodate a swap to October - even though we were looking to increase our stay to two nights and have a subsequent trip to this destination planned for November. Costing us a couple thousand dollars. The customer service was dismissive and unreasonable and we were told we had missed their cancellation deadline of 3PM - by about 30 minutes - which was due in part because we could not get through on the phone. We travel to Lafayette as a group 4 times a year and we're done. read more

Nice newer hotel with pleasant desk staff and handy breakfast and afternoon snacks. Recently booked adjoining rooms for a 4 night stay for some rest and recuperation for a family member who had just gotten out of the hospital. Did not need any service beyond clean towels until after 3 nights so requested the rooms be cleaned. Left for 6 hours and rooms not cleaned as promised. The Mgr on duty brought towels and dumped trash. Was surprised I was not offered bonus points or room discount following the mix up but will stay again. read more

As always, we had a comfortable and satisfying stay at our latest Hampton Inn visit, this time in Broussard, LA. We were in town visiting friends in Youngsville about 15 minutes away. Found this place via the Hampton Inn website and got the govt. rate due to hubby's job. (Score!) Our king-sized room was clean and cozy. Bathroom was immaculate and hotel was quiet. Breakfast was also great. Lots of options for my husband and I as well as our picky 4-year-old. My only complaint - and I say this knowing that I have a "thing" about this issue in every hotel - is that our towels had hair on them. Not our hair, other people's hair. I'm not what you would call a germophobe, really, but this is just a pet peeve of mine. Others may not care. I do. Call me a jerk if you will, I can take it. So to the management, maybe ensure that your linens are as pristine as your bathrooms, rooms and the grounds were. Thanks for a good stay! read more
