Super cute hotel for an affordable price. I researched some hotels that were within a short distance to a race I was doing, and Tru hit all the marks. It was easy to book and easy to update when I had to change from a king to two queens due to an expected extra guest. Everything was done through the Hilton app. Upon arrival, the hotel was crisp and clean with a lot of parking on the side and in the back of the building. The lobby is adorable - bright with modern and fun furniture, a cute mural on the wall, a little market with everything from snacks to wine to beer and candy. There is coffee out 24/7, a pool and fitness room (sadly I didn't get to indulge in either due to the brevity of my visit, and a continental breakfast (which I also missed as I had to leave around 5:30am. I was told, however, if I needed, the night staff would have grabbed something for me. There are tvs in the lobby too. And I really was super excited that there were water filling stations in the hallway - perfect to fill up my water bottles for the race and to stay hydrated. The room was a little tight due to the furniture, but maneuvering it made it fine. There is no carpet which is nice, and there is no closet. However, they do give you some wall hooks and some hangers, so they're making use of the space. The bathroom was spacious, and the room was pretty well lit. There are soap dispensers in the bathroom and plenty of towels with free makeup remover wipes. The beds left a bit to be desired, I have certainly slept in better ones. The AC struggled a bit to keep it consistent so it was off and on al night. There are building noises, like you can hear the pipes and the occasional drip when others show and flush. The people above me must have had some big decisions to make because they were pacing back and forth most the night. You could definitely hear a lot in the hallways. Overall, it was just a noisy night. I would love for the management to provide information to the staff on the area - I asked for dinner recommendations for local places, and I was directed to three major chain restaurants. Even though there are several places in River Ranch and the surrounding area that are Lafayette based and locally owned, I was sent to ones who just had name recognition. The staff didn't seem to know the area, and I would hope that management would train on the mutual importance of partnering with local establishments. I found a place nearby through Yelp instead. I would not shy away from Tru in the future, especially on these fly through town trips. It's affordable, especially when you're really there for 12-15 hours. read more

This Tru by Hilton is the cutest chain hotel ever. It gives boutique hotel vibes! The colors are bright and the rooms are clean! Check-in was fast and easy. I love the market and sitting area they have in the lobby. They also have free coffee in the lobby all day long. Our room was clean and I love that there was no carpet in the rooms. The king room was smaller than it looks on the pics but the bathroom was very spacious. My favorite was the most amazing hand soap and lotion that was in the bathrooms. I honestly wish I could buy it in stores. They also have a decent continental breakfast spread. I guess they probably don't have as much as normal due to Covid-19. Probably the best Hotel I've stayed out in quite sometime. This hotel is so pretty. Everything is fresh and chic. The rooms have no carpet so it's super hyper allergic. With the Louisiana weather being so humid, this is perfect and won't hold that musty mildew smell. It's a rather new hotel opening about a month ago. The staff here has been super nice. I talked to many of them and they seem to really enjoy working here and the management. Our room was a double queen bedroom. The showers are excellent. I love not having to shower in a tub. It's nice and easy to enter and all the soaps, lotions, shower gel, shampoos and conditioners are in nice squeeze bottle on the wall so nothing filling and fumbling everywhere. Our room came with a mini fridge, hair dryer, USB plug ins, large TV, and a nice view of the pool the river ranch area. The Lobby: Very open, nice flow, very bright and vibrant. Felt as if I could hangout all day in there. Nice pool table, plenty of seating, tonight they had a very nice 3 person instrumental band playing light music. Swimming Pool area is gorgeous. They have nice size, well lit swimming pool. There nice bar top style tables to stand and mingle around. My favorite is a nice warm and cozy rock fire pit. There's also a few grills to grill some delicious burgers on. I heard great things about their breakfast so look for the pictures soon. read more

This location is grossly neglected as it pertains to housekeeping and Maintenance. The floors were visibly FILTHY with stains all along the floor trim, dead bugs in corners, and urine around the toilet area! Doors, walls, and carpet all dirty! For years Housekeeping must only have washed towels and sheets and nothing else! There is no way this is Lafayette's newest Hilton Property?! (As advertised). This place was so disgusting that even after traveling 8 hours, (after work), checking in late 10 pm ish, I stayed up until 5 am locating a different facility to take my family for the remainder of my stay! My 73 year old grandmother was wiping and scrubbing everything /a norm for her but this required another level of cleaning and this trip was supposed to allow her time to relax!! One star for the air conditioning and one star for a soft mattress. The front desk folks are rude and dismissive. When we checked in it was pouring rain and the automatic door wouldn't open. I stood there waiting for someone to see that my hands were full and I needed help. There were two gentlemen behind the counter much more involved with their conversation to notice my predicament. It took me kicking the door to get noticed. One of them finally looked over at me and seemed annoyed that he had to come trigger the door from inside. He never said a word to me as I entered. I tried to make a joke about it and he just walked away like I had totally inconvenienced him by interrupting his fun with the coworker. Everything from checking in to asking for an extra room key seemed to set off the same impatient sighs from the men at the front desk. The next morning there were ZERO clean tables at the breakfast area when we went down. There were employees milling around not really doing much and did not seem to care that the guests were looking for a clean place to sit. When we checked out there was a chipper talkative man who appeared to be management working the front desk. He was friendly and personable. If he is management I would hope he'd teach his staff about being efficient and nice to guests. Could not get away fast enough from this place! The room we had was tiny and cramped. My boyfriend and I stayed at this property this weekend. Upon checking in, it was evident that staff had taken measures to keep guests informed of changes of hotel operations due to COVID-19. They also included flyers for local restaurants who were offering to-go and family menus. During our stay there was a large group of guests, apparently in town for a kid's team sporting event. This group commandeered the lobby, pool area, and gym areas for our entire stay, leaving their trash in common areas and wet towels in the elevator. We would like to highlight the professionalism of one particular staff member named Andre, who despite being berated by one of these guests for not receiving daily cleaning service--something stated on the notice at check-in-- kept his cool and provided each guest with dignity despite spending his shift running around to clean up after a large and inconsiderate group. read more

What a wonderful spot in a perfect location! I visited on a quick weekend retreat and was very pleased. Check-in was easy and my room was clean, comfortable and cozy. It is a bit of a trendy hotel, so the front desk might catch you off guard. Parking is complimentary. Breakfast is free and phenomenal. So many options. And as a bonus there is a mini coffee and tea bar available for guests downstairs 24/7. The lobby is fun with TVs and games and the staff members are friendly and engaging. This place was great. Highlights you may not find on the website: 1. Water filling station by the ice. Crucial for sports trips. I am not drinking out of the sink. I said what I said. 2. The bathroom sink soap is liquid and smells really good. No little small bars! 3. The front desk had a person working every time we went by. This person always had a nice personality and really great ability to have a conversation comfortably with other humans, an art becoming increasingly lost. 4. The sweet little breakfast lady. Although breakfast had closed, there were still some things out when we finally made it. And she made sure the boys had food. Pictures represent what was out 30 minutes after it was closed. 5. At least one special needs employee, which is a huge plus in my book. 6. For the other short people, the shower head is adjustable, so you don't have to drown to adjust the water or plant your face on the back shower wall to breathe. 7. Shower water pressure is very good - I can cup my hands to wash my face without having to pick which small stream to use. If you know, you know. 8. The pancake station. I made a video, but it won't let me add. So you put your plate down and wave your hand in front, and it makes a pancake and places it on your plate. Apparently my first swipes worked as well, so I ended up making four pancakes with that. Oops! Guess I have to eat those now. Food was left in the fridge from another guest. Barely any space to maneuver in the room. Pillows were of the lowest quality. No coffee-making space or microwave in the rooms, for those of us who'd rather not walk down to the food area in our pyjamas if we feel like having a coffee at night. Housekeeping was non-existent. But a really nice place with the emphasis on communal spaces like the fitness center and lobby. They do not have a "front desk," they have a "central desk." I imagine Tru by Hilton as a friendly hipster with dreadlocks, skinny and eating avocado toast and video-chatting with a sardonic friend who is silently judging me while we talk. My experience: Me: Hi. Room for the night? Tru: Yeah, definitely. Me: Awesome lobby. Pool table. Coffee bar. Charging stations. Snack-and-beer shop. Do you have iced coffee? Tru: Nah, sorry, man, what do we look like, a coffee shop? Me: Honestly, that's exactly what you look like. Tru: Yeah, and no coffee-maker in the room. That's such individualistic bullshit, you know? We're grooving on a communitarian vibe here, so if you want coffee just jog on down any time, night or day, and mingle with the cool cats. Me: Where's my room, cat? Tru: Here ya go. The employees were wonderful the room wasn't. The toilet didn't flush all the time or completely when it did flush. The bath trim door was warped so you had to push/pull to get it to open or close. Came to river ranch for a family gathering on a weekend of 2023. Checked in and the amount of rudeness this place has to offer is baffling. Mainly due to having pets at this "pet friendly" hotel. They will charge you 50 for the pet fee which is fine. But after you check out they will charge you an additional 50-100 bucks if they get complaints about barking. Not to mention not telling you about it either, they will just charge your card that was on file. At least this was my experience. Then they will question you about your service dog, if you check in with one. Super uncomfortable staying at this hotel when they're supposed to be a pet friendly hotel and make you feel comfortable. They did the exact opposite. Id rather sleep in my vehicle than sleep at this hotel and have anxiety. Do not recommend if you're a traveling family. If your a nun and quiet then that's perfect for them. Rooms are not updated for a "TRU HILTON" btw. River ranch is supposed to be top notch and I've been to other tru hiltons that are way better as far as the hotel and the rooms. This one is literally an empty room. This place was great! I am here over the Christmas holiday and staff has been friendly and helpful. The gym was clean and did not smell sweaty so bonus. Their reception area is almost like a living room. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the breakfast, coffee & tea bar, or play pool. Big bathroom, no tub but the shower is nice. But people want the downside so here are the things I didn't like: the pillows were too soft, the lights were bright so I wish they had a dimmer option, and the tv was too big for the room - all just personal preferences. Check in went smooth put us in the wrong room but switch it for us very quickly. For being a fairly new hotel they do not thoroughly clean their floors in the room. It's not a good hotel for softball families to stay at their lobby closes at 10 and their outside seating is not good for hanging out. Heard this was a newer hotel and from the reviews it looked like a good choice for the price. Unfortunately it was less than impressive. There were signs throughout the building stating that masks were required but not all staff had them on, including front desk attendant. Our room was small and the floor (which was all tile) was dirty around the edges and we had a few ants in the room near the bed/tv. There was very little storage space for our luggage. The sink in the bathroom must have installed incorrectly because the water faucet barely went over the edge of the sink bowl. You could barely put your hands under the running water. It just felt and looked cheap. I would have paid $20 extra to stay elsewhere with more accommodating features. On top of everything, took the kids to the pool to burn energy and there was a family of 10+ goofing off and smoking (not just cigarettes) in the pool area. Not the hotels fault but I was disappointed by the lack of enforcing the rules for facility. read more

Each time I stayed there, the experience got worse and worse. The ROOM always reeks of bleach and chemicals. Ehhhhh! Very cute decor, but not kept up well. The hallway was dirty there were little pieces of paper sprinkled here and there in the hallway. The room was nice. There were some rust spots on the floor from a chair, and it just wasn't pleasant looking. The biggest issue was that the shower was not clean! My only recommendation is to have better parking availability for your customers. Especially travelers that get in late at night. Upon my late arrival, staff was friendly and helpful. Very modern interior, clean, and appeared to attract a younger clientele. Getting to the room the sticker showing the room had been cleaned was not there, but being exhausted from the drive, I went in anyway. The room appeared clean, except the bed sheets did not seem to be fresh or maybe housekeeping needs a lesson on how to make a bed properly. Sheets were wrinkled and the pillows were tossed. Didn't sleep well because the bed was not very comfortable. There was also no coffee in the room so the next morning I left the room exhausted. A plus was there was coffee at the desk upon checkout, so I did get coffee, but it would have been nice to have had it earlier and not have had to dress and leave the room to get it. All in all it wasn't too bad a stay, although when it's time to update the mattresses they should use a better quality. Not likely to use this hotel again. They said the hotel was 11 months old We were in a very small room Had trouble with the Toilet so my Husband asked me to call Front Desk to get a Plunger. I asked her to check and she said she would call me back I hung up the phone and then she called me right back and yelled at me saying that I hung up on her and said I was rude. I told her that I was the customer and I was waiting on her to call back BTW she did NOT callback. I had to call again and ask about the plunger and she said it was at the desk. My husband had to work the toilet about 30 minutes to clear the clog. Then there was mildew in the shower. Not sure that this was worth the price we paid. Breakfast was not so great. Cleanest Hilton property I have stayed in. I appreciate the no carpet rooms, no drapes or curtains. I am a germ freak so non bleach items make me nervous. Check in was easy, parking is convenient. Breakfast is a must! Renee is friendly and helpful with our grandchildren. Our adult kids enjoyed the pool table and board games. One suggestion a activity cube for little ones. We hope to return and try the work out room and swimming pool. read more

This was a gem to find for a few night's stay. Hostess was extremely nice and helpful. Beds were comfy, room was clean and well lit. New hotel in the area is mostly a win win. Definitely would return to this hotel whenever we're back in Lafayette. Cool area within walking distance. read more
