This was my first time in LA in years. We used to go to brunch here. They had the best Oyster Dressing I have ever had. I not sure they have it anymore. The Hotel looked smaller. I suppose one can't go back in time. The staff were very cordial and any problem was addressed. It a little dated in bathroom. Could a little, not costly updates. Parking is included. Breakfast is $15 per person for a typical breakfast that is included most hotels. Overall, a good stay. read more

My crew was here for a convention. First the bed sheets and comforter were filthy and gross. Don't look under the bed sheets if you don't want a vile surprise. The bathroom was okay. The blankets were horrible and were not comfortable. The breakfast is not the greatest bacon is hard as rock. Fruit was very tasty tho! The bedroom wasn't really cleaned. THE ROOMS ARE A JOKE ......very old unkept dirty with dust and spiderwebs in the corners, the bedding is a whole nightmare ....holes in sheets no batting left in what once was a comforter. Everything in the room including the shower curtain bed skirts were super wrinkled like a paper sack!!!. Carpet had multiple large stains. No hot water in tub plus scary stains in tub and around toilet. Wallpaper coming loose and furniture was very beat up with varnish missing. I did check for bed bugs!!!! not in my room but in a room on the same floor!!!!! I arrived very late to the hotel and was exhausted but I will never stay there again. Beware of bed bugs. As a loyal Hilton diamond member, I stay at Hilton very regularly and found this one to be the worst. The overall condition of this property is low and the cleaning is poor. I checked into this property on Monday, July 7 to find bed bugs later that evening in room 1201. At 2:30 am, I was then moved to room 1308 and found the room to have an overwhelming poor odor and evidence of bed bug staining on the bed spread. I later moved to room 1410 and finished my stay - it was dusty and had mold in the restroom but appeared to be free of bed bugs. Brianne at the front desk was kind and helpful during the whole ordeal. I later contacted GM Jimmy Thackston who confirmed the bed begs but acted as if nothing negative occurred during my stay. After some pushing, he did compensate me for the nights stay and inconvenience as well. Photo evidence attached. read more

Let's continue: Breakfast in the morning is woeful and you beg for coffee. The snarly host from last night is just as snarky this morning. Overnight, there is a brawl on the fifth floor and I have to call the desk...none of the buttons on the phone work. Someone to come. Everything branded with Marriott Bonvoy, but the pile a is run like a Motel 6. I know there are personnel shortages, but maybe they will have to up their wages and hire some people who care because their whole brand will tank like this. See my equally disappointed review of the Marriott Bonvoy Sheraton in New Orleans for more disappointment! If you text them your issues, they respond quickly. Unfortunately, there are issues. I was not giving the room I had requested, but I did receive a gift card for a free dinner. I also did not get my trash changed on my coffee restock until I asked for a second time. But once I asked it was done. Everything. Rooms are filthy. Bathroom horrible. We found hairs all over the floor in the bathroom. French fries under the desk in the room. In the morning we got coffee and went to sit on the chairs near the lobby and the chairs were lined up like the should be but there was food on the chairs. I don't know how the health department let's them stay open. As expensive as the are for a weekend this place should be spotless. I have stayed in better motels on airline highway and is you know what motels on airline highway in metering louisiana are like you know what I am saying. I travel a great deal and this will be the last time here unless something drastically changes I will never be back. read more

Worst hotel experience ever! Looks nice from the outside but interior is disgusting. Carpets are nasty. TV did not work. Bed makes creaking and popping noise. (I am not heavy!). Housekeeping did not come. Had to go find towels. Hotel has no business center and didnt seem to care when I needed a one page document printed. All this for over $500 for 2 nights! A 3-Star hotel shouldn't get a 3 Star rating on Yelp. Reserved an executive room with King Size bed. The bathroom ... was covered with personal hairs. Easy to see being jet black. The toilet, the floor and the tub had hair in it. Unacceptable. No room inspection by the staff after cleaning. Also, it's as if the staff constantly tours around and sprays fragrances. Everywhere. The elevator, the hall, the lobby. Always this strong incense like smell. Unpleasant really. Reason for not rating below 3 stars, the rest of the establishment is wonderful. The Sola Restaurant is great. The staff was very friendly. Older and ran down. The worst DoubleTree that I have ever seen. It has not been maintained or updated at all. Cleanliness is subpar. Especially for a DoubleTree. The coffee in lobby was terrible and undrinkable for me. The Security guard's personal 1 ton dually was parked in the drive tow-away area all evening and night. Drive was packed and very congested as we were checking in. The Security Guard instructed me, that I needed to be fast, if I parked behind him to run a few items up to my room. At the time I parked, his truck and my Suburban were the only vehicles on the drive! He was very rude and unprofessional. read more

The hotel was OK-I was not offered the warm cookie when I checked in, or given any water bottles as usually a Diamond members get upon arrival-there are also no water bottles in the room. The bathroom was extremely small and the ceiling around the tub shower area had multiple peeling spots that had left droppings in the tub. The threshold was very dirty as you can see in the picture like I guess they just skip over it when cleaning. The refrigerator in the room did not work . The pool is a nice size and looks like it's well kept unfortunately the three days I was here it rained and flooded . There is no on-site laundry, which is disappointing -there is a restaurant and bar. I did not take advantage of either of those there is however a great coffee shop outside of the hotel within a three minute walk. The hotel is approximately 2 miles from the airport and probably 3 miles from the nicer area of Lafayette. Sometimes I wonder if hotels care more about the decor on their walls than the cleanliness of their rooms. They really should take advantage of what the customer says on these reviews. I don't care what is hanging on the walls. I do care if my bathroom is clean. read more

Double Tree by Hilton in Lafayette needs a major over haul. Doubletree is one of my favorites of the Hilton chain so I was shocked to see how old this location looks. The lobby was bright and beautiful but once we got to the room it was a different story. The room was old and drabby kinda like a dungeon. The room has old & dark furnishings. The bathroom is very tiny. You have to close the door in order to get to the shower. Only one person can fit in the bathroom at a time. There were mysterious stains on the floor and the windows were in need of thorough cleaning. The housekeeping & restaurant staff was very friendly and nice. They all went above and beyond. However, the guy at the front desk upon our check in was clueless. He didn't give us a run down of where our room was located or the amenities available during our stay. read more

Excellent staff. Every interaction I had was a delight. I first arrived and requested extra pillows and they brought them to my room. Later I left my key and they made me a new one: I told the receptionist I was so appreciative he asked for me for my ID. It's nice they go the extra mile for my safety: especially as a solo woman on business. Upon learning I had left overs to heat up, he offered for housekeeping to bring a microwave to my room. Other touch points with staff were just as hospitable. Upon check out, they helped me load my 50lb bag and congratulated me on my pregnancy. I look forward to coming back for another stay. Hotel is very dated and not very clean. Our room, room 103, had serval curly hairs left behind from previous guest, so that was gross. It was too late at night to make a fuss out of it so I just cleaned the bathroom and tried to pretend it didn't happen :/ The room had zero usb outlets. Soooo out of date that's it's frustrating. We were located next to the pool which was nice until the neighbors next door let there kids go wild and I mean WILD. My SIX year olds were mad about it that's how out of control wild they were. This all happened around 9ish and continued for more than an hour. Staff seriously did not seem to care about comfort level of other paying guests. The towels and the bed covers were all very old and not pleasant to look at. That coupled with the hair situation just ruined my stay. Doubletree senior management needs to send out inspectors and secret shoppers. Start from the bottom up! read more

i had the priviledge of staying here for a work conference. i slept better here than i do at home. the staff was exceptional, even when i locked myself out of my room (twice) my only complaint is there is no microwave in the room. i must comment on two waitresses/bartenders, star & whitney! they were exceptional all week long. they have got the service industry figured out and they should be well compensated and rewarded for their work ethic. hats off to doubletree for their lafayette location. we will now be looking for doubletree stays in our future endeavors. read more

If you're looking for a solid spot in the city to stay, that seems to be close to everything you would need, it's here. It's not the fanciest hotel in the world - as many said, it could use some updating - but it's everything one would really need in a hotel for a couple of nights. If you're looking for luxury, you wouldn't be looking here anyways. The customer service is great, and the warm cookie upon arrival was a nice added touch. The rooms are pretty spacious and comfortable with a nice river view if you're on that side of the hotel. It's quaint but definitely solid, and it seemed to be near most of what one would need when visiting for business (work and food). I'm not sure that the thermostat in the rooms (or at least mine) really was accurate. It seemed like it might be controlled centrally, which I wasn't the big fan of, but I adjusted. The doors and walls don't seem to be particularly thick, as you can hear a good bit of noise, but it's not awful that it's so interruptive. You can also find some pretty decent deals for this location online that are a steal. I'm not sure what other hotels in the area offer or how they are priced, but I'd stay here again for sure. read more

This was my first time staying at a DoubleTree hotel. We were coming back from vacation and made a detour to Lafayette to make a quick visit and have dinner with my Uncle and his family. The lobby and restaurant are quite nice. As what you grow to expect from Hilton brand hotels. One elevator was still broken, as mentioned in other reviews. The rooms and hotel are dated. There was normal damage to the dresser, trim, etc. similar to what you would expect from a hotel that has been there for a bit. The door to the bathroom looked like someone punched it at one time. Some of the fittings around the tub and shower were loose or missing. And there was dust on the shelf under the sink, and window sill. There was also dust and lint caked on the air vent in the bathroom, And there were no towels in the room, so I had to go down and get some from the lobby. The "bath robe" you get in the executive rooms looked like it was made from old towels and that it had not been washed since last use. Overall the hotel is still pretty nice. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel could use a little better cleaning and some repairs. But the room was still nice and I enjoyed my stay. Would consider staying again if passing through Lafayette. read more

This was a great hotel if you ever need one while in Lafayette Louisiana. I was in town for the hurricane relief. The company I work for booked this location. Great choice ! I love the location of the establishment. The river view was beautiful. I never went to the pool on sight but the other associates that accompanied me enjoyed it daily. They also took advantage of the bar that is on sight and liked it. The suites were cleaned daily and the hall was never noisy. I wish they had a microwave in each room, and on sight laundry area, and that the restaurant had more food options. Other than that, great hotel located in a safe and centralized location !! read more

Probably the worst Double Tree I've stayed at as far as rooms/hallways. Downstairs/lobby was nice and updated. But the rooms seemed worn down and not particularly clean...random hair in the shower, shower curtain needs replaced badly, and the windows were disgusting and desperately needing to be clean. Overpriced, run down. Had a work crew of people banging on doors from 4:00am-ish on down to announce that it was time to leave. They let that same group drink in the parking lot until who knows how long but we sure heard them when they came back in. Slamming doors and yelling through walls. Rooms were old and looked like all they did was shoddy paint and tile work. Hallways had molding falling off the ceilings. We made a grievance to the front desk with the manager present about being kept up all night long and them banging on all the doors. His response "uh ok thanks" No apology. Nothing! We ended up leaving that horrible hotel and booked elsewhere that wasn't run down. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Pros: The staff is absolutely amazing. The level of genuine kindness is beyond measurement and it was a pleasure to interact with them throughout the stay. Cleaning, social distancing, and signing protocols are followed and I felt they did a great job making the guest feel safe. Cons: It is an older hotel and you can tell from the rooms. The bathrooms are a bit dingy and the carpets are in rough shape. Something I found extremely inconvenient was that there was only one working plug outside of the bathroom. This meant I had one plug for chargers, computers, etc. There are some on the lamp in the desk but they were installed backwards so you can't use them because the lamp base blocks it. The other issue was that the WiFi was super spotty and weak and I ended up using data most of the time. While I wished the building itself was newer, I would find myself there again for the staff, service and of course that awesome cookie. read more

This place needs a deep cleaning and better policies. I am a Hilton Diamond member and as a member I receive a credit per stay for food and beverage. This location doesn't allow you to use the credit on beverages from their gift shop which is the only service available after midnight. Check in was seamless and friendly. The Ac seemed to have difficulty reaching a cool temperature. From 11 pm throughout until 1 am the room next to us had a crying baby ( understandable) when I called the front desk the only think i received was an apology and that they would investigate. So after slamming doors and screaming kid finally quiet. At checkout when asked how are stay was, we explained again the previous evening upset. The only reply was did you ask for a different room. That was not offered at any point and we had already showered and prepared for bed. We just wanted to sleep. Extremely unpleasant. read more

The hotel is definitely aged. I am sure at one time it was nice but the furnishings are worn and outdated. The rooms are wiped down but the details are being ignored. The meeting rooms were okay. The elevators worked but sounded rough. The pool was closed for the season but it looked like it would be nice and the deck overlooking the Vermillion River would be nice. There is a community microwave in the lobby. The rooms have safes and mini fridges. The restaurant was a huge disappointment as it is only buffet or "bar bites". It was not open all the time and there are no restaurants within walking distance. I stayed here for a convention so I had no choice but I would not stay here on my own choice. read more

With the carpet it seems there is a solid urine stain right in the middle of the room. The walls are covered with dirt which makes you ponder if you should just stay at a motel. At least they have better service. Yes, now let me talk about the service. We were here for a wedding and forgot our room key. Now, half the rooms were booked under our last name and we one license to prove it. However, they would not issue a room key to the other wedding guest because he did not have his identification. As soon as we pulled up, two cop cars came speeding up to the front door and rushed in the building. Not sure what it was about, but not what you like to see when checking in to an unfamiliar place. The elevators were extremely slow and would stop for a solid minute before opening the door which was concerning after seeing one of the three elevators broken down in the lobby. When we got up to our room our door was already wide open!! Not just unlocked but completely open! All the drawers/ dressers were pulled open and while the beds looked made everything else was not clean. Like someone had broken in. We immediately went downstairs and asked for a new room. The front desk guy switched our rooms without offering anything for our troubles. I do not recommend staying here. read more

This hotel is pretty great! It has a huge lobby, so it doesn't ever feel crowded. It has plenty of free parking. Every staff member I dealt with is friendly, and seems to know how to be attentive to the guests with just the right frequency. Some things I really like about this hotel are the quality of the food from the SoLa restaurant. I had the Ribeye, asparagus, and mashed potatoes and that plate was cooked perfectly. On a different night, I had The House Burger and sweet potato fries, and those were cooked perfectly as well. Oh, and the hamburger patty on that burger was THICK! Yes!! One morning, I just came down and asked for a cup of coffee, and the greeter was happy to go in the back and get me a fresh cup. Super terrific staff! There are a bunch of conference rooms, so if your organization needs plenty of event space, they have it. The pool area was still closed and locked, so I couldn't use the pool (March 3). I did use the fitness center 3 times. It is a bit on the small side, so you may have to wait for a treadmill. There are two of them. However, the fitness center was clean so that's good. The Internet connection is doggedly slow on busy nights. I even have the Premium Internet because I am Diamond, but it was still too slow on Wednesday and Thursday night. The Manager should probably look into upping the bandwidth of the hotel with the local Internet provider. The bed mattress was not the most comfortable, so it may need to be changed (Room 512). Also, the very far downhill side of your parking lot has a plugged drain. You may want one of your staff go down and clean it out, so proper drainage can happen. I am sure the rain puddle down there gets ankle deep. Really, not many complaints here at this Doubletree. The cookies are warm and fresh! Keep whatever magic you have going on in the kitchen. I stay at many Hilton's each year, and few have a kitchen that produces the quality of food that yours does. I also saw one of your staff cleaning up the parking lot and making his rounds to keep it looking good. This is something that a lot of hotels do not perform anymore, and it makes me sad when they don't. This hotel has pride, and that always keeps me coming back.
