Since it was Thanksgiving, the restaurant was not open that evening and the hotel was not very busy. That worked in our favor, as parking was plentiful and check-in was smooth. I also received a complimentary room upgrade, which made an already nice stay even better. The room itself was excellent and easily exceeded expectations. The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant and were impressed. Good food, good service, and an easy start to the day. Overall, a really solid stay and absolutely worth it. This is now my new favorite hotel in Bloomington, and we will be back.

It was so unbearable that my husband had to stuff a towel into the vent just to block the airflow. When we called the front desk for help, we were told there was nothing they could do because the engineer wasn't available. That was the end of the conversation -- no solution, no effort, no concern for the fact that guests were left freezing in their rooms. This level of service is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one tied to the reputation of Indiana University. Future guests should be aware: if something goes wrong, don't expect help. this hotel is poorly managed and poorly maintained.

But it is a fairly straight drive and there is parking downtown, but also we used Lyft and it was quick and efficient. Cascades has a little independently run bar adjacent to the motel that serves some snack age, which is nice if you come back to the motel and want to wind down. they have a policy of quiet hours after 10 pm. they have a small area with a little breakfast in the mornings.

There was a Queen and a full. I slept on the full. It had on oodles of pillows to remove. I believe i was out right after I turned down the sheets. I slept very well. I did order breakfast made to my liking. The next morning, I went down stairs and ate exactly what I had ordered, with a nice side order of fresh fruit. We checked out . This is a newer hotel and I was able to make a last minute reservation. Although they are set up for extended stay, it didn't seem much of a bother to book me for just one night. I was greeted by a pleasant front desk and everything went smoothly. I was pleasantly surprised upon my arrival. They are located a short distance from I-69 along US-231. Close enough to be convenient to travelers, but far enough away to avoid a lot of highway noise. The facility in general is very nice. My room could easily accommodate me for an extended stay. About the only thing I found missing was dish soap for the few items I used while there. When setting up reservations, I asked for and received a military discount. Other standard discounts are also available. If you are traveling along the pleasantly rolling hills of I-69 in southern Indiana, this would make for a restful evening. I highly recommend!

We used the larger community fire pit as the evening waned. No one came to any of the other 4 tents. I feel this place has potential but seems to be in its infancy. It was very peaceful here. Wished there was a doable path to the Sycamore Saloon so you didn't have to drive even though it was a short distance down the road. With no bathhouse or bathrooms but a port a John, it is hardly glamping. Just don't have to pitch a tent. No direction about lighting but the "extra" battery pack was enough to light us up for our short trip. There was not one at the site. There was a geo dome being built on site. I think in time this could be a nice experience but for now, completely rustic and basic. We did not receive any pre arrival information and had to call to ask about linens, toilet and lighting so as to know what to pack. It seemed as the occupied tent next door was someone long term.
