I was a little annoyed by the high price, but a complementary breakfast was included and I ended up thinking the rate was reasonable. I was surprised by the personal welcome on the TV. The beds are firm with lots of down-like pillows. The carpeting and tiles were new/clean. The tv is easy to use and has a great selection of channels. I appreciated have a fridge in the room. The bathroom was super clean and functional. There was no noise during the night and room temperature was consistent. Complementary coffee that was GOOD was always available in the lobby. The complementary breakfast was better than most hotels. Kudos on the fresh scones - my husband ate three. There is some interesting art featuring local landmarks throughout the hotel. The indoor pool is small, but functional. Clerks were efficient. I'd stay again.

I was worried that my elder parents or pet sitters would not be able to get ahold of me. No room phones either. Wifi was also spotty. Wifi didn't work more than it worked in my room. Be prepared for lots of walking. I had an injured person in my party, and she wasn't able to do most things. Also, the room was small! The bathroom door was only two feet wide and the bathroom itself was very narrow. One of the beds was against the wall. Also the restaurant was buffet only. There was no menu ordering. Now that I have complained a lot, heres the nice things. Staff was very nice. Things were very clean. Parking in the garage was easy. Each room had a minisplit heat/ac unit. It worked very well. There is a page in the room binder on how to change the temperature, fan speed, and blowing pattern. The beds were very comfortable and came with six pillows on each bed. There was an in room refrigerator.The Pioneer Village was very nice. It was also very nice that a church service was offered in the Pioneer Village. I greatly enjoyed it, but only happened to find out about it by accident. I didn't visit it, but there was a game room available. I really enjoyed the outdoor patios at the hotel. They are conveniently located and well kept. The view from the patios of the large trees and rolling hills was beautiful.

The construction lasted two years. As you enter the inn, you will discover they have done away with stairs and curbs. When you come inside, you will find a ramp where the front desk used to be. The front desk as well as the shop are connected to the sitting area. The restaurant and lower level are redone. The pool is gone. it will be replaced by a splash pad. They have added walk in showers to a couple of rooms. they plan to add a second elevator on the outside with a glass enclosure. Of the indiana inns, this will be the most handicapped accessible inn in indiana.

West Baden has now become a regular family destination. My family -- plus my mom, stepdad, siblings…read moreand their families -- just finished our second trip here. And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

For a property seeming to target the upper middle market, I think there is a lot of value. They have many free amenities that most no longer do - no resort fee, no parking fee, free shuttle to the sister hotel and downtown. I also feel the pricing at restaurants is somewhat reasonable, particularly at happy hour. Add in amenities closer to a luxury property - evening music, nice indoor pool almost always open, and obviously just being in the unique dome... This is a winner. We found the service to be consistently friendly. We had no issues with getting help for our large amount of stuff at check in or check out. Very nice to our dog and he got a lot of treats for the pet fee. Dining service was on the slower side but seemed to fit the vibe. We stayed in a suite with two queens. It was large. The furniture was on the worn side but well maintained. Nice to see unique furnishings vs generic all white everywhere. Plenty for the kids to do. We enjoyed the newly restored bowling alley and found it nicer than the same priced one at French Lick Hotel. We did like going to French Lick for the shopping and to read about the history. There is a lot about the history everywhere, including the small museum (a large room) in the hotel. We were very happy and would like to return.

You don't have to be in a hurry and for most who find their way there, rushing is not what they are doing. Brunch is my favorite but the menu is solid throughout the day. One of the Oldest Restaurants & Inns in Indiana, I do believe. Find it & enjoy!

The best way to describe the picturesque compound is that it feels like the town of Spectre from the movie Big Fish. It is adorable and quaint. We had arrived in the early evening and quickly put our luggage into our adorable cottage so we could make our way down to the tavern. We enjoyed many drinks and some typical bar fare along with some conversations with the locals. The atmosphere was incredibly welcoming and homey. We walked back to our cottage and had a comfortable slumber. It was a great stay and I can't wait to return!

French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. French Lick is one of those rare places where the destination and the hotel are equally memorable. We left already talking about coming back during another season just to experience it all again. Hampton Inn in Jasper is a nice hotel and an excellent choice, but a little bit less comfortable…read morethan the similarly priced Fairfield competing against it in Jasper. The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

We have been IHG Reward members since 2008 and are Platinum members. We often book through the App…read more Tonight we had the worst check-in experience we have ever had at an IHG hotel. The staff member could not find our reservation in their computer. We booked the room at 8:58 PM. We even gave them our confirmation # from the email we got. Still nothing. Another staff member checked their computer and found our name in it, but still claimed their was no reservation in their system. We were next asked to provide our membership number. Even though we showed them the number on our App, we were told the number was showing as invalid. They said they could book us a room, even though the app and email clearly showed we had booked a room in their hotel. We had to pay for the room they booked us. Now we will have to sort out being double charged. It was ironic we had to initial that if we smoked in our room we would have to pay $150 cleaning fee, as the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke. There were guests with the exterior doors at the end of the hallway propped open. They were smoking on the stoop. It took over 15 minutes to finally get a room at 10:30 at night, by the time we were done our eyes and throats were burning from the smoke coming down the hallways through the lobby. No apologies were made to us, we probably won't receive our rewards points as they claimed our number was invalid. Time for some staff customer service training on how to still make guests feel valued even when things go wrong.
