I very rarely complain about things but this was so ridiculous it needed to be mentioned. One night booked (4/2) and most of the hotel was loud - people talking in the corridors - laughing - banging on walls. I was exhausted so I put earplugs in and went to bed at 9pm. I was awaken from a deep sleep by a call from the front desk asking me to report that the person below me had been complaining about loud banging coming from my room). Did I mention I was sound asleep??? Not only did the employee not check to make sure she had the right "disturber of the night" but she never really bothered to apologize for waking me up. So, unless you want to take the risk to be startled awake in the middle of the night for no reason, might be best to look for a better place to stay next time you're in the area. read more

I had a horrific experience at Hampton In . Please avoid this hotel at all costs. The staff refuses to be helpful at any chance, terrible customer service overall, and a complete lack of care. The hotel is located within walking distance of several restaurants, staff was friendly however the facilities were average, the water pressure was poor as was the water temperature, there was mold in the shower area and the breakfast was not good, also noisy being right on the main road. Hard to turn in to the property unless you enter from the back entrance. Probably won't stay there again. read more

I just did a review a couple of days ago on this property about how terrible the management is and how they falsely accuse gust of damaging carpets and so forth so they can rob gusts out of extra money. Look at the attached video to show how badly they neglect the property to where it's falling apart. Wow god sure doesn't like ugly.I believe luckily no one got hurt. read more

For $222 a nite, they don't provide fresh towels, clean the trash or enter your room unless you tell them the night before. There were small signs posted but who reads those when you've been driving and are exhausted. No one advised us of this fact when making the reservation or when we checked in. We did request service for the 3rd day and nothing happened. Also, the brick pavement outside the door by the elevator looks like it is one level, but it's not and my friend went flying and landed on the cement. Luckily, he didn't break anything (that we know of). The shower appeared to have blood at the bottom of it. I was going to take a picture that first nite. Now I wish I had of. The noise from the street was horrible. Luckily I had ear plugs and was able to sleep. Unfortunately, my friend didn't have any ear plugs. read more

Terrible. No fresh towels as of day 3 by 3pm. They "don't have any towels" is what I was told at front desk, and they didn't seem to care.. Finally got towels by 4pm from an industrious Spanish speaking lady who cleaned room too. Faucet in bathroom sink is unusable because the water flows out 1 inch away from side of sink, so I can't get my hand under faucet without water going everywhere on top of vanity. I had to use a cup to pour water on my hands to wash them. I also wrapped toilet paper around that faucet to absorb the water that, of course, got everywhere. The toilet would not flush stuff away for about 24 hours during our stay. It finally started working right on it's own, thankfully as I had NO faith it would have been fixed otherwise. The handle on the sliding barn door was broken. Skip this place. Not good. read more

African American female in her 50s was rude at check out, refused to answer my question about the latest I could check out with diamond status.she insisted I tell her what time I plan on checking g out and then she will tell me if that's ok! I'm like WTF? What ever, fridge is tiny, hotel is VERY close to a busy road like 5 feet, no way to drowned out noise like a fan, coffee was about the worst I've ever had , and they charge you to use their parking lot. The hotel is in a good location with lots of nice shops and dining options within walking distance, but expected much more for what they are charging a night, go somewhere else. read more

Never cleaned the room while I stayed there even after requesting to do so daily. After my family and I checked out, the hotel manager called me and said she's calling the police because I left drugs on the table and I was going to be charged a damage fee. I explained to her that the powder on the table was baby formula and if she checked the garbage she would've seen the Enfamil can inside. The damage fee was never waived and I still haven't received an apology even after contacting Hilton corporate and for that I'll never stay at another Hilton Oh and they charged my dad(stain on the carpet) and uncle(stain on the window blind) a damage fee(Dearborn Hampton Inn=money hungry). So if you still decide to stay at this hotel after this make sure to take before and after pictures and a video's. read more

Had a free night certificate and they kept trying to get my credit card number AFTER I put it in for the $10 incidents charge..I repeatedly asked why they needed my card number TWICE, she took my driver license and put that number in and kept saying I would only be charged the $10 and refund after checking out. I'm checking my card daily! The front desk clerk was not the nicest and the room was ok, red spot on carpet when we got there, breakfast was a joke but hey it was a free night..seemed like even with thermostat on 78 the air blew ICE cold all night. The bed itself is comfortable and the pool was clean. Things that were not great: the design of the hotel is horrible. The bathroom is super tiny and shower is so narrow that my elbows hit the walls and I'm not a big person. The breakfast area in the lobby is in a tiny room that can barely fit 3 people. It's in a u shape rather than galley so literally no one can go in until the people in front of them are done. When making waffles that means 4 minutes per person. People were on too of each other, it was chaotic. The toaster isn't even in the breakfast area. The air in the lobby was freezing and blowing super hard on the eating area. They had one person working the front desk and breakfast so all the trash cans were overflowing and no tables were cleaned. Pool had no clean towels. read more

Check in was easy and front desk employee was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel offers lots of parking for a small fee per night. The area offers lots of restaurants within walking distance. Room was clean and roomy but the sofa did look a little worn. The only big problem I had was my room being on the second floor on the front/street side of the hotel. It was so loud most of the night with traffic noise and several very loud vehicles speeding and revving their engines. I would stay here again but only in a rear facing room. read more

This place is excellent! We had to leave a terrible hotel but the staff here welcomed us with open arms. They even let us check in at 1230 even though check in time wasn't until 3. Lobby is beautiful with contemporary furnishings that look relatively new. Staff wonderful! Bedroom was spacious with a wonderful king size bed and a fridge and microwave. Bathroom much better than I thought it would be! Very clean and lovely! Very beautiful! Breakfast was good with omelettes, waffles and cereals. I wish I'd made our reservations here to begin with. Dirty room. Very loud, busy street outside and super thin walls. Hard to get any sleep with non-stop noise from partying crowd. Evidently this was the site of a active shooter/police standoff just a few weeks ago. Didn't know until the Uber driver asked why I would stay in such a risky place. Googled it and sure enough, it's true. The hotel charges your card the full amount of your stay upon check-in, not at check-out. Housekeeping not available. Seriously Hilton?? The shuttle driver refused to take me anywhere as the policy is "only for large groups." Better options available. Won't return. read more

Physically the property isn't that bad. Our room was clean and decent sized. Breakfast was fine, also. However, in the morning when I went in to take a shower, there was no hot water. It was weird because there was plenty of super hot water coming out of the sink. Called and reported this and the woman at the front desk said maintenance came in at 9:00 (it was about 8:30 when I called). She offered to switch our room, but she only had rooms with two queens available. We said we'd just wait for maintenance, and went down for breakfast. Stopped at the front desk first to make sure we didn't need to be in the room when maintenance arrived--talked to a different woman. She said maintenance was already on their way, so we were happy about the good use of our time. When we returned to the room (about 10:00) no one had been there. Made another call to the front desk and were again told maintenance was on the way. Waited another thirty minutes, still no service. My husband went down to tell them we would like to change rooms and was told maintenance was working on the problem in the boiler room, that only the fourth floor was without hot water. Interesting since we had hot water at the sink--how does that work? We moved up to the fifth floor where there was indeed hot water. However the toilet seat was up when we arrived (that always makes me nervous) and no toiletries. So, after being lied to multiple times, I would recommend you avoid this place. read more

I visited Detroit with my husband and two kids for a family reunion 7/2-7/6. Before booking this hotel, I was so excited to find what seemed to be a jewel in the Dearborn area, with such reasonable prices and free breakfast! When we arrived, I was impressed with the cleanliness of the lobby and the rooms (we were in room 222). The first day, I saw I bug on the pillow. It didn't look like a bed bug- I didn't know what it was, but after pulling the sheets off both beds to inspect for more and finding nothing, I convinced myself that it was one of those crazy Detroit bugs (we're from CA) that must've somehow come in from outside. I ended up flushing it down the toilet. Our last night, as I was lying in the bed, I saw a little bug crawling on the headboard (the headboards are made of a fabric/cushion like material). I killed the bug and flushed it down the toilet. About 5 minutes later, I saw another on the headboard and killed that as well. After searching the bed yet again, I didn't see anymore bugs so I assumed we were okay. Crazy Detroit bugs, so i thought. About an hour later, my husband was lying on the OTHER bed in the room and saw the same type of bug on his pillow. He killed it and at this point I started to freak out. These bugs were not in the mattresses, as we searched before- they were in the fabric of the HEADBOARD! A quick google search confirmed they were bed bugs and we were OUT OF THERE! It was 3 am. I informed Tommy at the front desk and although he was a nice guy, all he said was "sorry about that" and that he would leave a note for his manager Kylie to contact me in the morning- he said he didn't know how to handle the situation. I have yet to receive a call or message from Kylie. It absolutely disgusts me that we were lying in those beds for nearly a week with bugs in it. Now I'm concerned about whether we were bitten, whether the bugs somehow got into our clothes and luggage and now taking extra precautions to ensure the bugs don't get into our home. I am totally disgusted. That's the only word that comes to mind. I do NOT recommend staying here. I also attached a pic of one of the bugs in the headboard (this was after we killed several others). Okay, let me first start by saying that when I called to inquire about the room layout, I was told that the room would have 2 beds and Sleep sofa. When I found out that my arrival would be delayed, I called to inform the hotel and was told that the latest that I could check in was 1:30am. Cool, I knew I'd be there before then. When I arrived around 12:30ish. I was told that I was listed as a no-show, but hadn't been charged the fee yet, but they could re-instate my reservation. I get to the room and it's a very small room with only 2 double beds, no sofa. It's too late to make a request for change after being on the road for over 6 hours, so I suck it up. Other than the small room, everything was nice in the room. The beds were comfortable, there were plenty of pillows. My grandson mistakenly pushed the mattress aside and to my surprise, there were little Bug food trays. I'm gathering this is something for bed bugs?? It's a welcomed surprise that they're being proactive and putting this in place to combat this growing epidemic in hotels. The bathroom was clean as fully stocked. The next morning, we had the complimentary breakfast. Hilton has really hit the nail on the head with this gem! They offer a little something for everyone. Cold cereal, oatmeal (with toppings nuts, raisins, etc), fresh fruit, bread, muffins, bagels, English muffins, fresh cut fruit, a waffle station and fruit juices. They even had hard boiled eggs! The only other complaint that I have is that you can hear people talking in the adjoining rooms and there seems to be BIG FOOT staying in the room above me. Whomever it is, has been walking, well STOMPING across the floor for hours. I want to call, but my husband said no! read more

Dear Mr. Billinger: I have been a guest in your hotel since Monday July 19 and I'm checking out this morning.  I'm writing to let you know about the service that I experienced. I am very disappointed in your housekeeping. Upon arrival my room was short of bath towels.  There was no iron available. The front desk fixed that after 2 hours. After 2 hours passed I went down to pick up the towels. I never saw an iron that day. On Tuesday after my 1st night, I left a note for housekeeping to leave me extra bath towels and an Iron.  I saw the housekeeper in the hall and mentioned it to her. I had also left her a note $3 on the bed.  Upon returning to find no towels no bed made up the trash was still in the room the iron was there and the $3 was gone.. Both wastebaskets were not emptied. I have attached pictures for your information. The person on duty that day was on the 3rd floor  And the time was between 10:00 a.m. and 1030. Needless to say I'm not happy.. I don't want to go as far as putting this on Yelp but I will. read more

The double queen room had comfortable beds and pillows. The room was clean.

Nice enough to sleep in. Disappointed with the room service. We missed our maid the first 8am cleaning and thought she would come back, but she didn't. We can back from a wedding at 130 am and I had to go down and get sheets to make the bed myself. I had family staying down the hall and they experienced something similar. They left a jacket on the bed and the maid only made one of the beds. Breakfast was decent, the wait staff was amazing though! read more

Prepaid for 3 nights or I would have run to another hotel. Eventhough I requested a high floor the check in staff was not accommodating and when I asked if they could check the one guy just flat out told me nothing was available not even any effort to check. The other guy there tried to smooth things over, but now I was a bit annoyed with the lack of customer service. Floors are paper thin. I could hear every step across the floor, and the people above us were not considerate and sounded like they were stomping from 1:00am to 5:00am every night. I complained the first night, nothing helped, complained the second night and that got them to settle down, third night I gave up and decided sleep must not be what Hampton Inn is in the business of selling. They could not move me because of something with not being able to clean rooms in time. Don't people normally check out at 11:00am and check in at 4:00pm? They couldn't clean another suite in that amount of time? Staff is obviously not trained well enough to problem solve. I'm leaving Dearborn after 3 nights on a spring break trip to visit Henry Ford Museum. But when your kids are so tired they can't function the next day to enjoy the museum this will go down in the history of our family as the worst spring break trip. Forewarning, don't prepay. If the noise level doesn't bother you because you are hearing impaired then this might be a fine hotel for you. But if it's sleep you want don't expect the hotel staff help you get any sleep if there's noisy people above you. read more

The hotel is new with a pool, which is what drew us too it. However, a few things made it tough. Me and my wife hoped we could use the pool to occupy or two small children, but it was freezing. It's an indoor pool with AC blasting. They keep the pool temp in the high 60's which makes it unbearable even when it's in 80's outside and super humid. Also, for some reason they don't clean the rooms until late in the afternoon. Right in the middle of their nap time. So in the 4 days we were there, they didn't clean our room once. Major let down over all. I'll look for a different option next year. read more
