Oldie but a Goodie I stayed in this Hampton Inn while in the Carrollton area for business. This Hampton is an older property but they have made updates over the years. The staff is welcoming, the rooms and bathrooms are clean and the breakfast is your standard Hampton fare. The hotel is located just off the highway and close to Fast Food chains, Walmart, gas stations and only five to ten minutes from town if you have to go into Carrollton. My room had two beds and an accessible washroom that was very large. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was very spacious. The room also came with a mini-fridge, microwave and a little coffee station. The fitness center was on the smaller side and had a Peloton. The Peloton only works if you have a paid account or else it is just a nice decoration taking up space in the fitness room. Many Hilton properties have a Peleton account for their bikes so any guest can use them. At the time of my visit, this property did not. Overall a great stay and the only hangup I had was that my bill was not emailed to me when I checked out. When I called a few days later about my bill, they emailed me right away. Overall a great stay in a well-managed Hilton Property that seems to be undergoing some updates. Stay on the first floor as stairs are challenging. This hotel uses the Digital Key and it worked during my stay. I either stay here or next door in the Holiday Inn when I'm in the area. read more

Usually I never have anything bad to say about Hampton Inn's but this one location unfortunately was a bit underwhelming It's off the I71 We were looking for a Hilton hotel to stay in and found this place Thankfully there were rooms for the night We checked in and were able to get a room on the third floor Hopefully the group of guys that came back from a hunting trip were able to get attended to as we noticed the front desk person was on the third floor on her phone when we came back up to our room from a coffee downstairs...was a bit odd....and it seemed she was the only one on duty....I would have thought there would be two or more people on a weekend The girl working front desk had said for our room it was queen beds but upon going to the room and checking out the beds....it looks as though they were double beds unfortunately Didn't bother us too much given that me and my wife got a bed to ourselves to lay out on However the nightstand drawers would not close We pushed them in but it only slid back out When my wife got to the bathroom we found a tile on the floor that looks to have not been repaired or repaired properly I had to call down to front desk to let them know to ensure that they didn't think we had done any damage to it Also it seems as they painted over water spots on the shower ceiling I didn't mind the secured amenities in the shower and bathroom....was a nice new touch Breakfast was meh Eggs, biscuits and gravy, potatoes.... Wasn't much and was hoping for a meat like sausage or bacon but it is what it is Price was okay but the overall experience was disappointing Slept good.....no complaints there as the bed is always comfy at Hiltons However I do think Hilton needs to attend to this location promptly to get it up to better standards Won't change my mind to staying again at the Hampton Inn brand but I think this location needs a bit of TLC read more

Terrible hotel!!! Our room was on the first floor where the privacy blinds did not work, tv volume does not work and bathroom door barely shuts. The bed closest to the window is broke. When you sit down the other side pops up. We were tired so just deal with it. Woke up to a hot humid room amd sore throats and notice mold on the lamp shades. Staff just hangs around in the parking lot and I am waiting to see if I get a response, because I messaged hotel directly and have gotten no response. Will file a complaint with Hilton direct. Would prefer to give zero stars but Yelp will not let you do that. read more

This is a lower end Hampton, although my room was mostly renovated. The heating system smelled like it hadn't been turned on in quite a while. The room has an oddly small tv. Several tears in the wallpaper. Average at best. The kitchen door was left open when I checked in and it just didn't appear clean. Not upgraded to digital locks and surrounding properties are very sketchy. A Red Roof and a Motel 6. Back again 6/23/19) and still not any better. A/C set at 60 degrees when I arrived and no way to adjust and set at a reasonable temperature. It's a half done renovation at this hotel. Shower is not clean. Furnishings are beaten up pretty badly. read more

This is a usual Hampton Inn. Location is horrible There is only fast food nearby - hence the check in at Taco Bell. No real problems just a remote area - which I dislike. Nice touch giving a loofa for the shower. Was first hilton property that provided one. read more

I believe the hotel was undergoing a remodel while I was visiting as there were chairs lined up near the entrance covered and there appeared to be men at breakfast living and working on the hotel. The room was clean and quiet but there was nothing that special about the room. The breakfast wasn't the best Hampton breakfast I've had but maybe that was because I didn't come down to breakfast until 9 am. For an odd reason, the rate was much higher than the surrounding hotels so be sure to look around before you buy as they are all clustered together. read more

Usually, Hampton Inns are Hampton Inns. But this one feels a little more like a Red Roof Inn or a Motel 8. Smoking rooms? Yup. Not that I have a problem with smokers, just don't want to smell it. Front desk crew was really "stressed" when I checked in. Not sure why. I checked into a smoking room. Told me that my profile did not specify non-smoking. OK. Technically that's true. But my profile does say highest priority: not a smoking room. I mean you cannot choose non-smoking as a preference. You can choose smoking. I chose not to choose smoking - with the most importance. I didn't even know that you can get smoking hotel rooms at a Hampton Inn. They were able to move me to a non-smoking room - only because a smoker was checking in and he had a non-smoking room. Ok. Smoking room, but they moved me. Whatever. I get to my room and it smells like a sweaty locker room. I know what it is. It's the A/C. There is mildew growing in it. Needs cleaning. And, since there are smoking rooms on this floor... my still smells like a little like smoke. Then... I go to take a shower. No shampoo. No biggy. Go to the front desk. "Oh, we're out of shampoo.". What? "Yeah. Sorry.." Don't expect this to meet the standard of a Hampton Inn you've stayed at before. read more

When you stay at a Hampton Inn you expect the little extras which this locations failed to do. For one there was no cookies in the lobby. There was no luggage racks. I had to go down to the lobby and ask because our room had no phone. The room was not fully clean. You couldn't walk barefoot as there was several stains on the floor. The wifi did work well and the staff was nice. Breakfast was just okay. They need new fruit. The beds were comfortable. There was a disgusting stain behind the toilet in our restroomm Also a disgusting stain on the nightstand which we tried to wipe up but couldn't. read more

This is by far the worst hotel I've had to sleep in for a while now. When I walked up to the front, all of the staff was sitting on luggage carts smoking cigarettes, about 3 feet from the door--blowing the smoke into the lobby. They were rather curt, but probably because I held my nose as I was forced to march through their smoke. Hardly a surprise that my ROOM smelled like smoke. It was completely disgusting, and is STILL on my bag as I write this (noticing this smell was the main reason I thought to leave feedback)...I left Sunday...It's Tuesday...NOT ok and will be recommending my group NOT stay there again. read more

After reading the Yelp reviews I wonder if I stayed at the same place. I've stayed there twice in the last 10 days in my trip to Tennessee. It's easy on and off the highway. Yes renovations were going on, but they didn't affect my room. My room was clean. Cookies were available. Staff helpful and friendly. I have been making trips from TN/AL to NY two times a year for approx. 10 years and have always stayed at Hampton Inn. After the experience at this Hampton inn, I will be finding a new place to stay on my trips. When attempting to call the corporate office to make a complaint, you had to have a name or extension number to get through to a person. Dialing zero was "not a valid number" So I entered a few letters and listened to the names of different people until I heard one that spoke English relatively well and left a message, after 12 days, no response, I emailed them. read more

Ghastly. Repulsive. Nauseating. Vile. Repugnant. All this words describe this disgusting "place". We paid for a room and we get to the floor, and the whole floor smelt awful. We open the door gingerly, only to be smacked in the face with the utter smell of pure hell. We go the front desk to be looked at rudely by the other guest staying. The desk woman told us that room was non-smoking. ??? She preceded to give us another room that was actually a smoking room. To our pleasure, we find it to have no smell. Not to mention the stench of redneck BO in the gym room. It was ovary shrinking, spine chattering. The smell was even worse then the room before. We stay the night in our new room. It was even more disgusting. The presence of the room smelt unbearable. My child woke up with swollen eyes from allergies. Currently we left the place. The stench is following us. We had stayed at two Hampton Inns previously on this particular trip. Those two other locations were excellent and the reason we decided to stay here for a night. This location did NOT live up to the Hampton Inn standard. There were long hairs all over the bathroom floor - clearly not swept or mopped, making me wonder if the carpet had even vacuumed (ever?). There was mold on the ceiling above the shower, not surprising because of clear ventilation issues. Probably a sign of an outdated building because the room didn't have a wall tstat like normal, it had the old school HVAC. The rooms had all the Hampton Inn stuff, but just wasn't up to par. The staff was still friendly and the breakfast was good. Will avoid next time. read more

Worst hotel experience , I was expecting to stay at the nice, clean , typical Hampton Inn, but no. I walked into the elevator only to be engulfed by the overpowering stench of tobacco. It was basically Smokers R US up in there. We asked for a non smoking room but was not provided with one. After being disgusted by my room experience, I decided to take a trot down to the 24 hour fitness center. I walk in and my nostrils flare up w the odor of B.O. I quickly turn my back around and run at the disputable stench. I have been a loyal customer of Hampton Inn for decades, but no more. I will be looking elsewhere for comfort when I travel. read more

This is some previous hotel that went out of business. I travel a lot and stay at a lot of hotels. This is a poor excuse for a Hampton Inn. Checked in, was greeted by a snotty front desk clerk that assumed since we were there for a car show that we were trouble. We came with 5 cars 2 14's , 2 13's and a clean 08. A lot of money in late model modified cars. Right away she started with last year "you guys made a lot of noise" and just went on about how bad last year was. We'll guess what, this was our first time for this car show! Never have been to this location for this venue. And I tell you what, it will be our last time staying here for the meet if we come in the future. I poured about $1200 into a 2 night stay in that location. How Hilton even puts their name on this defunct previous low name chain is crazy. I always stick with Marriott or Hilton when traveling. Just because of the quality standards. I am the first to say you get what you pay for and am far from cheap. Otherwise I would of stayed at the Super 8 next door, it looked newer, and since this recent expensive lodging, I will never stay at this Hampton Inn again, not even for free! We checked in after being lectured and talked down to by a bunch of trailer park trash, middle of no where, almost felt "like the hills have eyes" for about 30 mins. Keep in mind not one , hello, welcome to Hampton Inn, how was your drive, not one customer friendly or service talk at all! None! Zippo! Nada! We were treated like hooligans. I came down with my 2 sons and 3 of their friends. Was a family outing. This was a $69 dollar a night room we paid $133 for. And we had 2 rooms. Never a mention of their amenities, local attractions, meals nothing! The room was a step, step above a crappy upgraded Super 8. Toilet seat was broken, only one hinge attached to the bowl. Obviously it isn't cleaned because it would of been noticed immediately when cleaning, as soon as you lift the lid it was falling to the side, good thing it was noticed before sitting! The A/C unit sounded like a gas powered generator when it kicked in and out. The corner chair was really no better then a folding chair, no recliner, small sofa, nothing but like a dining chair in the corner. If you wanted to sit and kick your feet up, the bed was the only option. The other very disgusting part was the sink or tub drained. If you as much turned the water on to wet your toothbrush, it was filling up. The shower, I never use a bath, I'm a shower person. Well while you turned the water on to get to your temperature, there was already a 1" of water. By the time you were done showering you were standing in 4" of water. With 3 people to a room, it was gross to stand in someone else's shower water! The hallway was like a sauna, obviously cutting hvac costs. Like a said this is some previous Super 8 style hotel that was cheaply thrown together, with not a one customer friendly staff member. The service was not even one star. I gave the 1 star for the breakfast. That was decent, good choices and was to be expected, hot choices, cereals, baked goods, fruit, juices, and a waffle iron. I would go keep on driving past here if you are looking for quality friendly place. read more

I'm a diamond member which means I stay in a lot of hotels. This one must be the worst Hampton Inn I've stayed in. The entire facility is poorly designed. There is no parking, no room for breakfast and the place is dirty. I will never stay here again. Wall paper coming off walls in bathroom. This is a poor excuse for a Hampton Inn. I travel a lot for work and try to only stay at Hampton or the Marriott because I know the quality is high and my money is well spent. This place is neither high quality or worth the money! I think Hilton Co recently bought this hotel from another company and transformed it into a Hampton because it's not at all like any other Hampton I've stayed at before. They have made updates that are standard at all Hampton Inns ie: beds, bathroom furnishings, TV, lobby but that's it. The AC unit, carpets, doors, blackout shades, and walls look like the standard el crappo motel next door: and seem to have been there for an eternity (totally gross). The place is hardly insulated either, I could hear someone's alarm clock going off at 6am (not what a person wants when they arrived at 3am), I'm pretty sure you could hear a fly sneeze through the walls.. I should've known when I was asked if I wanted a smoking room, as most Hampton Inns don't allow smoking in the rooms. Well this place stunk like old cigarettes and stale smoke throughout, the smell kept me from sleeping well. When somebody was smoking you could smell it through the whole place. I'm not some radical but in 2013 where smoking is taboo I don't understand why Hilton Co would allow smoking inside their hotel. I am a very athletic person, CrossFitter, and triathlete; so the last thing I want to smell is stale cigarette smoke. I expect much higher standards when I search for a Hampton Inn.
