I just reviewed this property yesterday and J has more to add. I stayed overnight 15 February checking out 16 February 2026. I checked out of the property at about 3pm on 16 February due to a problem on my part with the reservation. Despite my own error with the check out date - the front desk receptionist and reservations assistant/Guest Relations Specialist who was on duty at 3pm was OUTSTANDING! Then again - the whole team was. The young gentleman who took my car at check in for valet and brought the car to me at checkout was fantastic. As were each of the other members of the valet team. The gentleman who answered the phone and later assisted me at check in on 15 February was also outstanding. I had arrived early and the staff worked to accommodate an early arrival/checkin. The housecleaning staff were friendly and even had a smile on their faces when they greeted me and saw me throughout my stay. I observed this several times in the 2 days. The breakfast area was well appointed and well stocked, clean and with excellent food choices and the lounge is staffed in the evening with friendly and professional bar service. I don't remember the last time I stayed at any property whose staff and team came together in such detailed ways to demonstrate friendly, helpful, caring, professional customer service. The entire staff deserves a raise or at least heaps of praise - and kudos to the management of this property for doing something right so as to create an excellent customer service experience. I will be back and I trust the team spirit is part of the culture and will be back no matter which team members are present to care for guests. I surely think this is the situation as I don't see how it could he just a few or just a fluke. Way to go Hampton Inn Cleveland Downtown! read more

First time staying at this hotel. It is in a great location to walk around the city with plenty to do in walking distance. There are parking garages right around the corner to drop your car in. The room was nicely decorated and the bed was comfortable. Shower pressure was just OK. Could have been better. The breakfast was good and the hotel was clean. Customer Service here is amazing! Great downtown location, and offers affordability as a Hampton. What a wonderful stay and it has exceeded my expectations. This is my first time staying at the Hampton Inn Cleveland-Downtown and am so pleased I decided to give this hotel a try. Easily now one of my favorites of the Hilton brands in the area. This trip was a three day, two night, couples trip to the area. Check-in was easy and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. I also appreciate the acknowledgement for being a Diamond member which was super nice. We stayed in Room 1016 with a King Bed. Loved the accent lighting above the armoire and desk area at night and the blackout shades were great for sleeping in. The room was slightly dated but it works with the hotel. I honestly like this style more than the new Hampton refits as those seem cheap. We had a nice view of the Cathedral of St John the Evangelist, downtown, and could even see a small part of Lake Erie off in the distance. Only complaint would be the mattress (for me). Noise Level - On the 10th floor with the city view and right on the street. No street noise concerns at all. Noise level on the floor was great and couldn't hear the neighbors. I may have heard a door shut loudly at some point but nothing extreme. Special touches were great here. Started with the Hilton Honor gift bags with water for Silver, Gold, & Diamond members upon arrival. Staff thanking you for being a member of Hilton Honors was another. The text messages to greet you after checkin and throughout during the stay. At one point In the beginning I received a message on our stay and asked if there was anything they could do to ensure our stay is perfect. I said yes, how about some extra pillows for the bed and within 5 minutes there was a knock at the door dropping off two additional pillows. Definitely going the extra mile. Breakfast offerings were the traditional Hampton waffles, cold cereals, hot eggs, meat, bagels, breads, yogurt, fruit, and juices, etc. The breakfast area was good, kept well cleaned, and restocked often. Valet is pricy at $42 a day but it's the city and I appreciated the convenience of it. Five stars across the board for me and appreciate the hotel and staff for being so awesome and executing their jobs and responsibilities so favorably. You were greeted and acknowledged each time you left and came back to the hotel as well. I booked this hotel based on location and affordability and discovered a great hotel with amazing employees and staff. It really did exceed expectations. Absolutely not! Stay far far away. I wish zero stars was an option. The location is awful. Right across the street from the main campus of Cleveland Clinic. Constant sirens. The hotel charges $20 to park in what was a completely full lot, so we had to park elsewhere. Also, I had two rooms but one car, told them that upon checkin, but was still charged for two cars. The room itself was a health hazard. The AC did not work and after calling maintenance, it was due to filthy filters. The ceiling light flickered and cackled. The bed frames were ripped everywhere, disgusting stains on the couch in what they called a "junior suite", the table looked like it hadn't been cleaned- ever- the amount of grime was absolutely ridiculous, inches of dust on everything, crumbs in the bed (literal crumbs) - we ended up sleeping on TOP of the blankets. We did ask for a new room and were told they were overbooked. We also asked to speak to the manager and never heard from them. Sadly, I could go on and on. Idk how this place has so many good reviews. Based on my experience, it should be cited by the health department. read more

First I have to say that I love this hotel. This is where I stay every time I come to Cleveland and it's always a great stay. I love the bar/ restaurant they have. It's wayyyy bigger than it appears and has a ton of seating. The bartenders were all very attentive and helpful. I ordered the Harvest Hemingway drink with the Margarita flatbread. It was a pretty good drink with a large flavor profile but I do feel like $18 was a little pricey for what the drink was. For a downtown location, this hotel is located conveniently from the square and the lakefront. Inside, the ambiance is typical of what the Hampton's inn experience is. They have valet parking, which is $45 per night. I think that is expensive and you may be able to find a parking garage yourself for a cheaper overnight price. The rooms are decent but we had the room booked for 4 people and we only got towels and other things for 3. Additionally, if you want toiletries or extra towels, etc, we have to go to the front desk for it. The beds are typical of Hampton's. The breakfast was ok - frozen omelets, potatoes, sausage, bacon on two separate days. I've had better breakfast at Hampton's in different locations in the past. The pricing of this hotel is definitely not cheap. We got a city facing room so we got a view of the lake, which was nice. What frustrated me most was that each time I wanted my car out, I would call down at least 15 mins in advance and be told that it would take 15 mins to get it out. When that time came and went, and I asked the valet about the status of my car, I would get an answer like, "oh we were not aware". Is your front desk talking to your valet?! The whole reason we valeted was because we didn't want to walk to a garage ourselves. But, there was one instance where it took 30 mins from the time we got out of our room to sit in our car. This is unacceptable for a hotel that charges $45 per night and gives us 24 hour in and out privileges. As a long time Hilton member, this was a disappointing experience as I've been used to better experiences in the past. read more

I was on the ninth floor but the street noise sounded as if I were in a tent outside. All night long, I heard sirens and drag racers and loud music. The breakfast was satisfactory with a lot of options and frequent refills. There was very little fruit, however. The location is convenient. Housekeeping is every other day and consists of fresh towels, emptied trash, and a made bed. No fresh sheets or vacuuming. Weirdly, there are no towel bars in the bathroom. The gym is adequate with free weights, treadmill, and an all-purpose weight machine. I might stay here again but hope I don't have to. read more

My wife and I stayed here for our weekend visit to Cleveland. I've had the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on my bucket list for a while and that's what brought us here. This hotel is an easy 15 minute walk downhill to the museum and a little less in the other direction to reach Progressive Field to see a ballgame. Our room on the 14th floor had a view down 9th street to the lake. The room itself was fine albeit a little tired looking. It was fairly quiet but some street noise was evident through the window. Breakfast in the lobby offered several hot options including pre-cooked omelets, bacon, sausage and waffles. There was fresh fruit and several types of bread to toast as well. Everything was clean and well stocked when we ate. The staff were pleasant during our stay and helpfully held our luggage on our departure day for last minute sight seeing. read more

Overall good stay. Staff was friendly, check-in and check-out was a breeze, room was clean, shower had good pressure, bed was comfortable, about a 10 minute walk to Progressive Field. I parked in the garage on Rockwell St instead of paying $50 for valet. Only downside is walls are thin so I could hear the people in the room next to ours partying until 4 am and could hear doors slamming throughout the night. Stayed with my wife and a friend for 3 nights. Overall a lovely hotel in the middle of everything downtown! After checking in and dropping off our luggage we noticed the table lamp was intermittently functioning. I called the front deck to inform them and a maintenance person was there within 5 minutes replacing the bulbs! Thank you! No real down checks during our stay. I was a little surprised about the $39 daily valet rate but what are you going to do? The staff we interacted with were all friendly and positive. Very dirty hotel. My bathroom had hair all over the sink, shower, and, toilet from previous guest. Found hair on pillows from previous guest. I even asked the front desk to send someone to clean the bathroom while I was gone and when I came back the hair was still in the shower. This hotel is clean, near lots of activities and restaurants. We had our Childers Family Reunion of 80 people here. The parking structure was close and the Valet staff was quick! Catering Manager, Paul Vana and the hotel staff were very accommodating. The Breakfast each morning was a clean social area and kitchen with different food options and handled with care by Marcus & Tawanna. For our Dinner Banquet, the dinner linens and catering staff are outsourced. The food was prompt and delicious. Tia, Lead Food and Room Manager was thoughtful about the room set up and nearby bathrooms being open for our guests without needing a room key everytime. Our servers, Walid, Robert and Keith were great people that moved swiftly for set up, refilling food servers and clean up of the room. Pascha our Bartender was quick with drink ideas and our Security Guard Sean was nice and hospitable during our evening. Thankfully he wasn't standoffish during our event. Also, this hotel is 4 blocks from the Pier where our Family took a our most Memorable Photos with the CLEVELAND Sign. This was a good hotel with a nice location and good service. It is near the Cleveland Guardians ballpark, like a 5-10 min walk which is what I was attending during my stay, the ballpark is also near the Cavs stadium and the location is not too far from the Browns stadium or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame either. I originally was staying at the Doubletree but because my experience there was so bad I checked out early and came here instead. They were fully booked the previous night as almost all of downtown was with the events going on that night. They were willing to hold my bags if my room was not ready which was more than fine because I was arriving about 3 hours prior to check-in time. They were able to get me a room right as I arrived and I was pretty happy with that. I dealt with a weird issue of one of the workers there would knock on people's there to collect garbage. I had a knock at 5-6 PM which I thought was weird, but I gave him the garbage. But I heard a knock again at 9 PM which creeped me out especially when I had my do not disturb sign in my door. I called the guest services to complain as I have never heard of someone collecting garbage in any hotel aside from housekeeping and it was even more frustrating that he was doing it despite a DND sign up. They took care of it and informed me that this person did not know and I did not deal with this issue the rest of my stay. I would give it a 5 star if it were not that strange incident but they did take care of it, so I still appreciate that. read more

It was fine, overall. Check-in and check-out processes were very quick and easy. My room was relatively clean--beds were fresh and nothing was dusty, but it definitely hadn't been vacuumed (found a dead bug on the carpet). There was a mini-fridge and a safe. The rooms are very dark, and mine faced inwards towards another building, so there was very little natural light. The bedroom was also outfitted with one of the loudest AC units I've ever experienced in a hotel room, which only seemed to have two settings: constantly cutting on and off, or nothing. Even though it was hot and humid, I opted to turn it off while I slept because it was so disrupting. The bathroom was OK. Found 1 hair in the shower (starting to notice a pattern here, lol) but it looked like it had been cleaned. The toilet had to be flushed twice every time I used it because the tank didn't fill all the way on one flush, which was weird but at least it worked. There was a label in the bathroom saying that housekeeping would come every other day. I stayed for 5 nights, and housekeeping only came on the very last day. There was additionally no sign I could put out to request housekeeping. I could have called, but it felt a bit redundant when they should have been servicing the room as promised to begin with. I can't comment on the breakfast because I didn't partake in it while I stayed here. It looked pretty mid (instant eggs/frozen omelets, frozen sausage, etc.). There were 3 elevators, which was nice, but there is no room card tap required to operate them, which poses a potential safety issue. The front desk employee manually mans the automatic doors past a certain hour, but it seems their criteria for who is let in is "whoever doesn't look suspicious." When I came back after midnight one night, they did not confirm that I was a current guest. The few actual merits of this hotel are the convenient location (short downhill walk to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, downtown, convention centers, and right near a beautiful cathedral) and the quick check-in/check out. If you are looking for a quick stay, it's fine, but I have stayed in nicer Hiltons before. read more

Stayed here overnight for a Cavs/Pacers playoff game where Lebron provided further evidence of Kingage. Game 5. Game winner. Kingage. This hotel is located downtown about 4? Blocks from Quicken, 6/7 blocks from Progressive Field, and within walking distance of a variety of food and shopping stops. Overall, nice location. Problem is parking. On our reservations it appeared that parking was included; however as I explained to my buds in a city it's more than likely valet. It was. $30/night. We elected to park in a garage around the corner for $10. Rooms are nice- ours a 2 queen jump, bathroom was SPOTLESS. Shower was red hot and the towels were clean. Breakfast was the usual- eggs, sausage coins, French toast sticks, waffles, oatmeal, and fruit options and OJ, AJ, CJ- along with coffee. Very nice stay. Would hit this again. read more

So this is your basic Hampton Inn set up and deal - there's a gym and breakfast included. It's the same breakfast that all Hampton Inns have. The rooms are pretty spacious and updated. The bathrooms are also updated. They have a granite counter, hairdryer, all of the basics. Here's my big tip on this place - get a room on an upper floor in the rear. If you are on a lower floor or on the front of the building, the road noise is terrible. The first time I stayed, I wondered why there were ear plugs in the room. I found out the first night. Since then I always call ahead and request a room in the back, middle on the upper floors. Note that the rooms do not have a fridge or microwave. You can also call ahead and request them. There is not parking. They have valet parking that is approx. $25-30/day that you can use. You can probably park in the same garage cheaper out of pocket, but I don't know. read more

Outdated! 2 thumbs down! I could not believe this hotel was associated with the Hilton brand because it had such low standards. I would not even waste the $105/night standard rate yet only the overpriced $800/night rate we paid during All-Star Weekend. It's one thing to be historical or "vintage," but this hotel room was ancient. The bathroom was basic and decent enough to bathe and use. The room décor was underwhelming. It looked so gloomy in the room. It cost no more than $5 to replace a lampshade, right? So, why did the lampshade have noticeable brown spots and was cracked. My chronic asthmatic cousin could have been triggered to have an asthma attack from the thick dust on the lamp. The ancient room décor does not match the modern décor in the lobby. The complimentary breakfast was horrible! I guess you got what you paid for. You can always make your own waffles or pour yourself a bowl of cereal. The sausage and eggs were suspect. They actually were trying to serve these dark brown bananas until another guest commented on the color. Then the staff tossed them in the garbage. Why were they even put out for guest to eat? There is no microwave or micro fridge in the rooms. However, there is one available on the first floor near the front desk. Upon arriving on Friday for my 3 pm check-in, there was no one at valet. To my surprise, the two valet staff were sitting inside watching from the glass window. You would think they would come out to greet you once you have parked. Is it not evident that I'm doing valet parking as I line-up behind the other parked vehicles? The tv won't allow you to pug-in a firestick. I do like that their store features local businesses. In particular, I was happy to see them selling wine from the local black-owned, Chateau Hough Vineyards and Winery. Also, MG gave was wonderful and gave her best effort to make my stay pleasant. When I expressed my concerns, MG discount one night of valet parking ($37). The hotel is located downtown and close (a share ride for Winter and maybe walk in warmer months) to Jack Casino, Tower City, and the major sports stadiums. Thank you, MG! Hampton, level-up your services. You fooled me once, but never again. Hopefully, the $800/night rate I paid will help cover the cost for standard hotel décor upgrades. read more

Overall it was fine. The staff was mostly great, very friendly at check in and always greeted us when we returned. Definitely giving an extra star because of them. The room was very lackluster. We were on the top floor and had a decent view right down to Lake Eerie, but was outdated. Our mini fridge was hanging out against the desk, not tucked away anywhere, which was odd. Seemed like some concentration from the fridge was making the carpet around it wet, too. And the lighting in the room was very poor. Valet parking was too expensive, imo, at $46/night. read more

Checked in a little after 10 pm. We got to room, needed two pillows and on more towel. Front desk told me "the hotel doesn't have any more pillows". Regarding the towel we needed, they would not bring it up to us and said "if you want it you have to come get it." Bad attitude and NOT helpful! We stayed last night in Watertown Hilton Garden Inn and before that three nights in Hampton Inn Lehighton/Jim Thorpe. We will be leaving positive 5 star reviews for those locations and people. I was not thrilled with this hotel. It was older and the room was very small. Upon arrival, it was difficult to get to the valet parking due to construction. I had an upgraded room to a city view. The city view was nice, but how long does one stand there to look at it. I picked my own room on the 14th floor. It did not have a refrigerator which I had no way of knowing. Luckily, I had read some previous reviews that said the same. We brought our small ice chest to keep some waters cool. We took showers and the drain was very slow. I used my Hilton Honors points for this hotel. I regret that I used them for this stay. read more

Front desk to Valet! Room was clean and high quality! I am a room cleaner before our stay and I really just wiped down handles snd switches with Lysol as I would anywhere. So much room! Great family suite! 2 Queen with sleeper sofa. Highly recommend this property and I am picky! Parking is valet only at 34$ per day or local decks not hotel related. Very nice valet staff also! I'm kind of torn about the star rating for this hotel - for me it's about the lack of dining options close to the hotel. After traveling all day, I was not interested in having to venture out very far for some food. Most of the places close to the hotel are only open during the day and most close around 5:00pm-ish. I did end up finding Winks a few blocks down which was fine - it closes at 9:00 pm. The hotel itself was fine. The Hampton Inn provided a satisfactory experience during my visit to Cleveland. The location is fair, with the hotel a block north of the HealthLine bus, and a five minute walk to the RTA at Tower City Center. The neighborhood is quiet but safe. The room was clean but dated and the beds were comfortable. I appreciated the premium Neutrogena products in the bathroom. Poor planning. Thanksgiving 2017 - There was a marathon downtown, valet parking didn't think to observe who's checking out in the morning, and bring our cars up in advance. Instead, over 70 people, 20-24 families/couples sit here and wait for an HOUR AND A HALF to get our car from 100 yards away in a parking garage, stuffed full of runners. Poor planning, disrespectful of your guests time, and I won't be staying here again because of it. My schedule has been completely thrown for a loop because of their lack of disrespect of their guests time and schedules. When I'm on the road and looking for a room, I don't care if they have 100 channels, WiFi, a kitchenette, spa, swimming pool, heart shaped tub, concierge, or whatever. I check in drop off my bags and go about my business exploring the location. All I want is a clean pillow to lay my head down on after a busy day and a shower to freshen up with in the morning. Everything else is gravy. A few months ago I purchased tickets to a Cleveland Cavaliers game. I have never seen a basketball game and consider it a "bucket List" item. Since my B-Day is the following weekend, I purchased tickets to a game and considered it a B-Day present to myself. When my girlfriend offered to spring for the room, I simply said get the cheapest room you can find within walking distance to the Quicken Loans Arena.... and that's how I found myself there this past weekend. I don't know how much the room cost, but hotel was wonderful. It was less than a half mile from the arena, there were a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and I was able to park on the street, right across the street from the hotel actually for free! I hate to pay for parking! The room itself was clean with a comfortable bed and a nice strong warm shower. What more can you ask for? I requested a room with 2 queen beds and was told they had none available. They offered a room with a king size bed and a rollaway bed. The rollaway bed was listed on the confirmation and it was repeated in each conversation I had with the hotel. When I showed up I was told there were no rollaway beds. There was no apology, in fact, I was treated as stupid for believing they would provide one. I was asked if I was told that they would "guarantee" a rollaway bed, as if it was MY fault. When I told them that I would not have made a reservation at the hotel if I had known they would not provide a rollaway bed, I just got a shrug. You could just see her thinking "Sucker!". Considering the poor reception, the lies, and the quality of the room, awarding this hotel one star is generous. read more
