There was also a strong smell of stale tobacco smoke that made me feel physically ill and nauseous, raising serious concerns for my health. I usually stay at Wingate properties and have had much better experiences, but this location felt very outdated--at least 30 years old--and poorly maintained. The overall atmosphere felt suffocating. Because of these conditions, I immediately called the manager and checked out within five minutes. At that time, I was told I would receive a full refund due to the accommodations not meeting acceptable standards, especially given my health concerns. However, when I later called to confirm the refund, I was told by a different staff member that I would not be receiving one. When I requested the manager's name and contact information, it was refused. This is extremely unprofessional and unacceptable. This location is conducting very poor business practices. Note: you can share the key but that other person must have the app and be a Hilton member. The room was very clean and the maid service checked after one night to see if we needed anything since we were staying two nights. The pool is a little small but we were more interested in the hot tub. The exercise room was used quite extensively by several people. We were tired after our long drive so we decided to stay in and eat at the hotel. My burger was good and my SO's pasta was also of good quality. Prices were very reasonable so we had adult beverages also created to perfection. Nice experience nice stay the only drawback was the thin walls that made every knock and shower by other visitors a bother. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and would consider them again if we were in town.

It's the Garden Inn with a little snack shop, bar and restaurant inside which is convenient. I started checking in via digital key so can't comment on staff, wait time, etc. But it was a busy football weekend at Mizzou so hotel was completely booked. But it didn't feel that way, and it was easy to navigate, park, get bar service, etc. The room was very clean and fairly standard as well. Bed fairly comfy, large TV and newish bathroom. The only downsides (which are both pet peeves), the faint smell of mildew, and they use a water softener so I always left my shower feeling slimy. The hotel is on the north side of 70 but an easy 5 min drive to downtown or campus. And it's typically much lower cost vs hotels closer to town. Overall I would recommend.

A fitness center and a pool are available, however I didn't use them. The parking lot is a little small and can fill up quickly. A bit off subject - the hotel is near some other hotels that aren't near anything else. It's not a huge deal because Columbia isn't that big. You should be able to reach anywhere you want to go in roughly fifteen minutes.

I stayed in room 322 and parts of the wall was gone, wallpaper coming off, bathroom stains. Our toilet bowl had a ring in it... it was disgusting. Cleanliness aspect was definitely not met. We stopped here for a night during a cross country road trip so we just made do with it. The only good thing was that the bed was comfortable and staff was pretty friendly. I feel like that's part of the bare minimum though. Would not revisit or recommend, subpar for Marriott quality.

I had to fly in from Florida and other family came in from out of town as well. It was a Friday night and there was a Mizzou home game on Saturday so hotel rooms were scarce and ridiculously expensive. I called and spoke with the folks at the front desk. They were so kind and were able to get us into a couple of rooms. The rooms are a pretty tired and the particular room I was in the drawers on the dresser wouldn't stay closed. Also, the pillows were pretty thin and too soft (kinda like sleeping on crepe paper). We didn't care, we just needed a place to crash. I would definitely stay here again because the team clearly cares about their guests.
