I stayed here for a week on a business trip and was very impressed with this hotel. Based on the cars outside I know the hotel was pretty full but the level of service made me feel like a VIP across the board. Summary: I would definitely stay here again, and my experience would make this my first choice of hotels in the area. Pros: Amazing customer service! Every staff member I interacted with was friendly and helpful, and they went out of their way to make sure I had a great visit to Fort Wayne. Check-in and check-out were easy and efficient. There are two elevators and they are FAST. The fourth floor has lovely views looking over Eagle Marsh. My bed was firm (in a good way) and pillows were perfectly fluffy. I had a bathtub in my room - awesome for relaxing! Outlets right next to the bed for phones or cpap machines. The location is easy to access and right near the freeway and main street to get downtown - there is a light to turn onto Jefferson. Parking lot is large enough for Uhaul trucks to pull in (there were two during my stay) for those on long-haul moving adventures. There are plenty of restaurants within a short driving distance and the local delivery places will bring food here. Room service was done every other day (and there is a sign on the bathroom mirror to let you know this). The free breakfast goes above and beyond. There is real oatmeal, a waffle maker, good scrambled eggs, and even almond milk available on request. The staff keep the area well stocked and clean. The coffee and tea bar is available all the time and was hot and fully stocked every time I stopped by; plus they have different roast levels of coffee available which I really appreciate. (Thank you for the light roast!). Fitness room is small but clean and everything works. In-room heater worked well. Even the ice makers were fast. The maintenance team here is on point. Cons: Tiny towels that were on the rougher side. The fridge in the room is only a fridge (which I wish I'd realized before buying ice cream - oops), and it makes a pretty constant whining/humming noise that I found quite annoying but got used to over the week. Water pressure in the shower was so-so. The birds at Eagle Marsh wake up at 5:15am to greet the day (not something staff can control obviously but worth being aware of). Planes, trains, and highway sounds are frequent (could be a pro depending on what sounds you're used to - I find the highway sounds calming but had forgotten how many trains blow whistles at all hours in Fort Wayne!) - that is going to be something at most or maybe all hotels in the area but again, I think it's worth noting. Overall - best hotel I've stayed at in a while and I cannot say enough good things about the staff who really made the trip a great one. read more

The staff was nice and check in was easy. We got an upgrade since the hotel was pretty full, however, I am not sure when the last cleaning was done on the room. It's an older hotel so we kept that in consideration. It was really large and had a couch seating area along with the bed and desk. When I did the bed bug check I noticed that there were no bugs but it did not have the mattress protection cover. The next thing I noticed was the couch was covered with dog fur and had stains on it. I am so glad that I keep a lint brush with me. I was able to get most of it off. The room was clean short of the dog hair on the floors as well. Finally, the breakfast had a good selection and clean. The coffee was very weak, but I usually get a bagel anyway. We may try another hotel next time but this will not be crossed off the list. read more

I would never ever stay here again I would drive until I fell asleep or sleep on the side of the road my car is cleaner than that place. I Stay a lot with the Hilton brand and I'm very thankful for every day I normally get but this one was the most disgusting Hotel I've ever stayed in it's very outdated it smelled throughout the facility the carpet was dirty but the worst was the room I stayed in room 305 there was a visible mold in moisture running across the ceiling in three different spots that was massive the whole room stunk the sink and tub were both cracked significantly the toilet was super low and very uncomfortable I can't say enough to advise you to stay far away from this hotel read more

My family and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Ft. Wayne-Southwest, the day before our trip to Miami. We live over an hour away in Van Wert, and we had a very early 5 am flight. We did not want to miss our flight and we did not want to drive very early in the morning for such a long distance. We just needed a hotel room to crash for the night to make our flight the next morning. Hampton Inn certainly made that happened. The room was comfortable for us and we slept the night peacefully. The front desk staff is attentive and courteous. We did not try the breakfast, so we cannot opine on how good it is. Certainly a good hotel to stay at, especially if you just need a comfortable room to crash for the night. read more

We had an unexpected trip back to Indiana and found this hotel had low rates during our desired dates. Positives: - Great rate - Friendly staff - Clean room with a sticker on the door to know it had been cleaned/sanitized and no one else had gone in - We were the only room occupied within the group of four rooms Cons: - Loud heater which never turned off. Always blew warm or cold air - Closed pool due to chlorine levels - Breakfast was the same boxed option every day (bagel/cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, and yogurt). I understand why but would have loved some variety. For the rate we were able to book at, I was happy overall. read more

The front staff are awesome. Helpful in every way. Rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained. Plenty of outlets and usb ports. Breakfast is well made. Stayed at Hotel for business travel. Hotel was overall clean however it is outdated for Hampton Inns. No Business Center and was under construction. My biggest issue was the lack of follow through on the breakfast hours. I woke up to go to breakfast at 6am and left by 7. Breakfast still hadn't opened both days when I left. read more

Did you know there were hotels in the world that don't offer room service?! I did not. This location is one of them. What made this even more puzzling is the fact that they offered breakfast. Confused, perplexed, and befuddled my whole soul. Besides that, the rooms were nice. Not as modern, but clean. The staff was pleasant and very welcoming. I had a double queen, which came with a fridge and microwave (which I needed to warm up my fast food since there was no room service :-)). The hygiene products were by Neutrogena and they smelled and felt great. The in-unit air condition made it easy to adjust the room to my preferred temperature and not the ice box they originally maintained it at. The tv was about a 20-24 inch, but my television only received the news and there is only so much politics I can watch in one day. Luckily, there was FREE Wi-Fi so I just watch a movie online! This location had an in-door pool and a small gym, with two treadmills and an a elliptical. All of the entrances, including the side entrances, were accessible with your key card for your room. read more

I made reservations for 2 adjoining rooms. This was for a young mother and 2 children, ages 3 and 5. Upon arrival, we were told there were no adjoining rooms available even though I'd been told the adjoining rooms would not be a problem. The reservations were made three days in advance. The staff first had them on 2 different floors. When the situation was discussed, they were able to get 2 rooms next to each other....NOT adjoining. The children were in one room with the mother in the next room. Luckily, she had brought baby monitors so she could at least hear the children should they need anything. The mother was not able to sleep due to not being comfortable with the arrangement. I think we can all agree, we wouldn't want our 3 and 5 year old children in a hotel room alone. read more

Upon a arrival, the attendant provided me direction to the restroom and ask me my name, and took my luggage for me. Just a couple of minutes later, when I came out of the women's restroom, he handed me my room card and told me which floor. I've never had such efficient service at any hotel. I came up to my room and was pleasantly surprised by the decor and size of the room. When going to sleep, the room was pitch black and so silent, which was absolutely perfect. I stayed at another Hampton location the night before, and there was no comparison to this location. I will definitely stay at this location again when I fly into FWA. read more

The quality of staff and the way they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful well out weigh the few minor maintenance issues we saw. The Inn is not brand new so there are a few paint chips, a crack in a desk chair, but all minor things. The Inn is very clean. The coffee bar is keep hot and stocked 24 hours a day. Breakfast was hot and delicious with many options. The fresh waffles and fruit were my favorite, my husband had the omelet and sausage. My bed was comfortable, linens were like new and the white comforter was lovely and clean. The pillows were were puffy and supportive. I slept well. Our entire room was spotless and sparkled. I again compliment the staff, all the staff, from the front desk to maintenance, to housekeeping. Everyone was gracious and extremely friendly and helpful. read more

During times like these, I would have figured that would make businesses like this step up their cleaning services. Mold in the shower, dust everywhere and sequins on the carpet that clearly hasn't been vacuumed. Never again. read more

This is your standard fare interstate Hampton Inn. It's in a reasonable location near some low to mid range restaurants and the property is situated such that you don't hear the highway. Standard perks like free WiFi, free breakfast, free parking and the coveted HHonors points are here. In fact, they reserve the best parking spaces for Diamond members. It gets the job done at a reasonable price. I would definitely stay here again if I needed to stop in Fort Wayne for the night. read more

Stayed here 3 nights, room key didn't work and had to be replaced,twice. I was asked if key card had been near my electronics...NO! We make a point to keep them in my husbands wallet so this key issue doesn't happen. HOWEVER, if hotels believe this is a problem with room keys, FIX the key card because I don't know anyone walking around in 2016 without some type of electronics. IT appears they ask this so they can blame the customer rather than take responsibility and own up to the fact their key cards are fallible. Great customer service idea there... Music in lobby and throughout first floor is overwhelmingly loud. ALL ice machines throughout hotel were out of service. Side door, you know the one where you like to park for easier access to your room while lugging things in and out daily, well that doesn't work either. I do not recommend this hotel. read more

4 Stars, taking into account that it's a Hampton. Good sized room, with a King bed and sofa. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Cheesy faux handwritten sticky note on the headboard could have been skipped. I'm not sure why business think they can fake sincerity. Unsavory Management. We set up a corporate rate of $104/ night and a direct bill account bec we would be staying a lot for the next six months. After the first stay, they raised prices up to $140 stating the price they gave us was only for the "slow" Christmas Holiday time. This hotel is great! Clean rooms, easy check in, good breakfast including make-your-own waffles, baked goods, yogurt, juices, fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, and a separate coffee bar. Once you choose your breakfast, you get to sit in a large, attached dining room and watch the morning news. Nice size TV, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, microwave and refrigerator are clean and easily accessible. The AC is easily adjustable and the large window opens to allow fresh air to circulate. We had a two room, king suite. The bed was fine and there was lots of room. There were just two of us so we use the sitting room for friends to gather. The breakfast was exactly like every other Hampton so no complaints there. The main thing was the room had not been cleaned well enough at all and the room supplies had not been replenished - tissues, toiletries, towels.... We got in late and had to get up early to go out so did not call the desk to change rooms. The bathroom area appeared to have not been cleaned well at all - the corners looked downright dirty and not just from one previous visit. The lighting is poor at best except for the bathroom area. Very convenient location to the rest of beautiful Ft. Wayne, clean rooms, really nice pool and hot tub and get this, kielbasa in the free breakfast. Didn't know you could do that. Had a great experience at the Hampton. They were top notch from the moment I arrived, answering any and all questions. There was a delightful open bar happy hour that many of the guests took part in, as well as myself. The room was clean and smelled nice, the fitness area was a little larger than most hotels, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have stayed in during my time on the road. The work station they provide in the room was adequate to meet my needs and housekeeping seemed friendly. I would definitely suggest staying at this Hampton if you are ever in the Fort Wayne area. read more

We are on a trip and this is the third Hampton Inn we have stayed. Comparing the other, I am not impressed. The TV remote has no guide so you have to surf to see what is on every station. The refrigeration had NO freezer for ice packs like the others. The bathroom needs work. FYI. They are in a renovation process which is a reason for a lot of workers in the halls. read more
