The staff here was very polite and helpful. The rooms were especially clean and had more than enough towels. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. Continental breakfast was good for a hotel. Eggs, bacon, oatmeal, pastries, yogurts, make your own waffle, so on and so forth. I will definitely stop here again when passing through Jacksonville.

Best local hotel for Jacksonville. Rooms seem to be 1 cycle behind latest Hampton remodels. However, they are clean.

Rooms are fairly standard if you aren't staying in one of the suites in the mansion. The basic rooms are an addition behind the mansion with a view of the pool area. Blankets were a little thin and lacking for a cold night. I was hesitant to turn on the heater because it looked really dusty and would have aggravated my allergies. Walls are thin - we could hear our upstairs neighbors quite loudly. Breakfast was fine. Decent selection of eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, cereal, fruit and yogurt. I was hoping for some southern options like the fried catfish in other photos but they didn't have it when we were there. The dining room is nice and felt elevated with real plates and silverware. There is also a bar in the original carriage house. Overall it's a unique place to stay. The historic mansion is nicely decorated with plenty of charm. I would consider staying here again the next time I'm in the area.

I got woken up to ridiculously loud knocking at my door at 9 AM, and then she tried to enter my room while I wasn't dressed, luckily my door chain was latched, I shouldn't have to put up a do not disturb sign overnight to ensure that housekeeping does not come into my room. So irritating. Plus there was a bug in the bathroom.
