Great stay with a friendly staff. I was originally staying in Key West for only one night so I picked this hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Yes, it is close to the airport and you may hear a plane or two, but it was not an issue. I had a room by the road and did not hear any traffic. I stayed here for 2 days on a work trip and had a great experience. The location is perfect -- close to everything -- and the hotel offers a free shuttle running every 30 minutes to an hour. The pool, bar, and grill were great, and I appreciated the free water bottles in the lobby and the breakfast. Even though it's near the airport, you never hear planes (and trust me, I would -- I'm an incredibly light sleeper). Above all, what really stood out was the front desk staff. We stayed here for several days during our time in Key West. Staff were helpful. The pool was a welcome retreat from the heat. The extra perks such as free water, free breakfast, and free drinks at the bar were nice touches. Despite being very close to the airport we never heard planes unless we were outside. The abundance of wildlife around the hotel ensured we were never bored! While we never used it, they did offer free shuttles to downtown Key West. Hidden gem! Our room was one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in, cleaner than The Reach up the street, honestly one of the cleanest I've stayed in years. Balcony was such a nice treat, 2nd floor pool view just wow. Live music on the weekends and the singer/guitarist were pretty good. Room was quiet. Yes there are planes and you can hear them if you are outside, I'm just not sure why these upset everyone so. The pool and bar area were lovely albeit next to the road so lacking the nice resort feel but all things considered top notch. Bed was extra firm, no topper either, but not uncomfortable. Sheets a little scratchy. Bed and linens are what make you go yeah it's a Hampton, if it weren't for these everything else is up to the standards of a full Hilton if not better. First of all, I've been told that I need to check the sheets in all the hotels that I go to, and I stay in a lot so immediately when I got there, I checked the sheets and they were dirty and the girls were working next-door and so I invited her in and she looked at the sheets and I said they are dirty. You need to change them and they did and then I suspended my trip for another two days and I asked them to come in and change the sheets again, they didn't change the blanket from the first time so I had them try to change it the next time and when I came back to the room, nothing had been done, except for the bed had been made, and they had left some clean sheets, other than that the floor was sturdy and the sheets were dirty so I had to call in and get everything changed. I don't like staying in hotels where the people don't change the sheets so I probably won't stay in another Hampton Inn for a while. Otherwise the girls at the front desk were very nice and the pool was nice. read more

The rooms and bathrooms are large and spacious. I love that there's no gross carpets on the floor and honestly with all this humidity, it's for the best. The AC worked well and kept me cooled because I can't stand the heat. The two complimentary drinks a day by the pool is a nice touch, as is the large pool area, free hot breakfast every morning from 7:30-10:30, the free water bottles at the front desk, and the complimentary shuttle rides to downtown key west. We used the pool bar for dinners one night and it was fine. Wings, fish tacos, and coconut shrimps. Breakfast the first morning was bacon, cheesy omelette, and sausage gravy with biscuits. There's an assortments of breads to toast, waffles to make, yogurt, oatmeal, and fruits like bananas and oranges. The second morning was cheesy omelette, sausage Patties, and roasted potatoes. The birds are beautiful but don't feed them because they will multiple and be bold. You have to go to the front desk and register for a specific time for the shuttle. It's every 45 minutes. It will take about 20 minutes to get to where they drop you off and it's first come first serve on the way back with the last ride at 10:30pm. The driver said don't try to get that last ride because he only has space for 11 and he doesn't come back for the rest so plan accordingly. This hotel is close to a fancy Italian restaurant and Benihana. There's Smathers beach about 1.5 miles away and you can rent golf carts for your stay here on the property. Pool opens from 8am until 10 pm which is nice! read more

Hampton Inn Key West formally Best Western is a nice ocean side hotel that has been renovated a few years back. Although I have stayed here several times, this is my first time since the renovation now under Hampton Inn. I could definitely see the upgrades to the property, specifically the rooms. This is a nice property with a great pool and poolside bar. They offer some nice perks like free hot breakfast and trolly transportation about every hour to the Duval Street area (downtown). Although you can take your car just about anywhere on the island, I recommend renting a moped or golf cart to get around during your stay. This is a fun way to get around but also makes parking and commuting easier. The hotel staff was helpful with any questions and needs we had. You can opt to have your room cleaned daily or pass on it. The rooms are good sized including upgraded furniture and showers. I like that this hotel is close to the entrance of the island away from most of the hustle & bustle of Duval area. Just know that the Key West Airport is right up the street so you will here planes taking off several times an hour. I highly recommend staying here. This is my go to stay when I'm Key West. Note: The many beautiful iguanas that live on this property are protected. DO NOT mess with them or harass them in any way. The are harmless. If you are afraid of iguanas, this may not be the place for you. read more

Nice hotel within walking distance of the Key West Airport (12 minute walk), but off of Duval Street if that's important for your location. They do have a shuttle that will take you to Duval St. but you have to sign up in the lobby for a seat on the shuttle (positive-you can sign up for multiple times/days in advance. It is a round trip service with the return to the hotel running every 45 minutes (note: return trip is first come first serve and the shuttle holds 10 people). The breakfast served is fair, but it's included which is nice. We also got 2 free drinks at the bar everyday of our stay and that's a nice perk. The staff is so nice and extremely accommodating. The concierge is very knowledgeable about excursions and things to do. The rooms are very clean and large as far as hotel rooms go. The pool is huge and the outdoor bar is very nice! read more

We booked a room at this spot for our stay in Key West. We picked the room for the ocean view. Please note that while you have an ocean view you do have to walk a little to get to a beach area. This hotel is not located in the ideal area to enjoy all Key West has to offer. It is literally within walking distance of the airport, but about a 15-20 minute drive to downtown. The hotel does offer a shuttle service to downtown every 45 minutes and the last shuttle picks up from downtown is at 10:30pm. The hotel is more of a motel set up. When you walk out of your door you are outside. Depending on which building you stay in you can have a decent walk to get to the area where breakfast is served. The gym is also in a different building than the check- in desk. Everything is pretty spread out. Things I liked: 1. The rooms are a large 2. The rooms are clean 3. The rooms have been updated for example the bathroom is pretty modern. Love the black frame and black fixtures in the bathroom 4. The pool area is very nice. The pool even has a water fall feature. The bar at the pool is designed like a tiki bar. 5. Upon check- in you do get complimentary tickets for drinks 6. Parking is free I think this is a good choice if you are not interested in being in the heart of key west. However, just keep in mind that if you decide to drive downtow,parking is $5 per hour. I came with 3 other ladies for two nights to celebrate St. Paddy's Day in Key West. We could not have been more pleased with the staff and comfort of this hotel. We had a spacious two queen beds room with a spacious bathroom and balcony that was very quiet to relax on. The breakfast included is average. The swimming pool was very relaxing with a bar to order food and drinks at. The ocean is right across the street with an ocean view from the large swimming pool. This hotel is walking distance from the airport. It's approximately a 10 minute walk or less. A special thank you to Chloe, Nick, Sherna and Maryna for making our stay pleasant. Loved this hotel. Beautiful rooms. Beautiful views. Really nice pool and pool bar. Diamond members get 2 complimentary drinks each day which is always a nice perk. Free breakfast never hurts either. Love the offerings here like the free shuttle down into downtown Key West or all the rentals and activities you can book with the concierge. We rented bikes for a day and rode all along the coast and explored the city for a very low price. The concierge provided the bike, locks, and helmets all on the property. Other rentals like golf carts and scooters seemed to be picked up downtown. While other Hiltons may look more appealing on paper, the reviews for some of the fancy ones downtown are really really bad and I couldn't even realistically consider those. This one is a sure thing. The Hampton Inn is a really great and reasonable place to stay when visiting Key West. It has nearly all the amenities you could want: a nice, spacious room, housekeeping if you want it, continental breakfast, a big pool and bar, the beach a 10 minute walk away, and shuttle right to downtown Key West. Each room even gets two free fountain drinks every day of their stay from the pool bar! Literally the only downside I can say for this place is that it's a good 15 minute drive to Duval Street and the main areas of Key West to walk around, eat, drink, and shop. But they do have a free shuttle like I mentioned before so there is a way to get there fairly easily, so long as you sign up ahead of time because it's a very small van that doesn't fit a ton of people. But anyways, it's a really beautiful, clean and nice hotel that we at least got for a super great price, way better than the sky high downtown options that have maybe a third of the amenities. read more

This has been the best experience I have had in a Hampton Inn! The location,walking distance from the airport and free shuttle to take you down to the all the action make it ideal if you prefer not to rent a car. They have a heated pool with gorgeous ocean views and a boardwalk across the street along the A1A. When we checked in, we were greeted with snacks, waters and complimentary drink vouchers. We are Gold Level Hilton Honors members so some of these are perks. The complimentary drinks are good and the snacks are a nice touch as well. During COVID they are only doing room service every 3rd day but we never use room service anyway. If you need replacement towels or other things, all you have to do is ask for them. Pool towels are also provided. Bikes are available on property for rent and there is a small gym open 24 hours. My one and only criticism is the noise from the planes flying overhead but, that being said, there's absolutely nothing they can do about it. If you just come expecting it, your experience will be perfect! read more

Back in the day this was a great Best Western motel but in no way has been transformed into a full service hotel or resort to support what we paid. Rooms and bedding/linens basic, no full service restaurant, no hot tub, no activities/beach, nothing in walking distance but the airport, no dedicated pool staff and tiki bar/pool close at 9:30. Too dry not even hello or good afternoon) 2) last day I was bitten by the bug/ ant unacceptable 3) pool is great closed at 10 pm 4) bar is ok closed at 9 pm/ pretty lame service ( the complimentary drinks are the joke ( only half the menu )if u want the cocktail pay 14$ It's ok to pay I came from Ny but u got a felling each time they try to rip u off on everything ! 5) I got surprised on my Amex platinum account extra charges for fee ( after been paid 1100$ per 2 nights ) it was 97.50( 30+30 fee and 30$ per 2 small bottles of white wine Chardonnay and tax ) 6) I didn't receive any free water in my room ever( on the web site u have it) 7)nobody called me from the front desk asked me how is everything do u need any new towels 8) beach after 4 lines of highway or 1.7 miles to walk no good . Updated property with homey yet modern finishes and decor. Stayed for 1 night with my family during a Christmas trip. Arrived around 6 PM and check-in was quick. The rooms look to be newly renovated / furnished. The room with 2 queen beds was spacious with a desk, large TV, microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, and area to lay out your suitcase. The bathroom is huge with a large closet area. Parking is free and ample. The pool is also quite large for a hotel pool. Overall pretty good. Literally next to the airport, so at about 500 yards, you could walk rather than pay $30 for a cab. Or at least negotiate. The hotel is clean, nice pool, friendly staff, free breakfast. Nice rooms. It is pricey particularly because it is far from downtown, so you will need to either get an Uber at $30 a pop. Or they have a free shuttle, which is too small for the number of guests using it and doesn't run often enough. Pretty good. read more

Old world charm, with broken ceiling fans at pool bar. Place looks like a refurbished motel, that they slapped the Hampton name on it. Rooms are tiny, and musty. Manager, shuttle man and bartender, all appear to dislike their employment and it shows. Ringing alarms in the lobby, due to a malfunction in one of the rooms. The occupants kept complaining but received "there is nothing we can do" response. Not a great way to spend our wedding anniversary. Double tree looks cleaner with a better location. Only complaint is they allow locals into the pool which brought a LOT of kids and little to no chairs to sit in. We rented a golf cart but it seemed a little far from the other side of town so just Uber or rent a car. Lots of good food in Key West but don't waste your money by the airport. I woke up with bites on me. Fist I thought the might be a spider somewhere. I told the front desk as I was getting ready to head out and I passed a guy with a can of raid. As the day went by the bites had swollen and even a red line heading up my arm. That night I woke up and had a swollen eye where I had been bit. My friend in the other bed was getting bites and woke up. We decided to just get up and leave. We checked the beds and found bed bugs!! After looking at all of the hotels that are in Key West, my family and I chose this one because it had the best price and it was Hampton, so we were familiar with it. I mean, you can never go wrong with Hampton Inns. This one proved to be no exception. The place was clean, the night sleep was good, and the facilities were nice as well. First up, the cleanliness. From my experience here, there were no issues to be seen. No stains on the bed, floor, bathroom, or anywhere in the room. Also, there was no dust anywhere either that the housekeeping could have missed. Most importantly, no bed bugs in the beds and no bugs on the not screened in balcony. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 Next, the night sleep. We set the temperature for 65F to have a comfortable night sleep. It may look cold, but it isn't, I guarantee you. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows are fine if you have another one behind it supporting the front one, they can be a bit flat. My Rating for this Category: 4/5 Finally is the facilities. There is a pool with a tiki hut, a fitness center, full buffet breakfast (during Covid right now too!), and a sort of secret shuffleboard area. The pool is very nice and makes the hotel feel like a resort. I checked out the fitness center and it is a normal hotel fitness center, not many people go in it. Hidden behind one of the buildings they have a shuffleboard area, which they did state they may redevelop. My Rating for this Category: 5/5 Everyone in the reviews for this place may mention the plane traffic. Yes, this is there, and it is quite loud, but so cool! I love airplanes so this really was not an issue for me. On a bright note for those of you that the plane noise may bother you, your night sleep won't be affected at all as the last plane usually departs around 7:00pm. The next time I am in Key West, I would love to stay here again. Truthfully, it is one of the nicest Hamptons I've ever stayed at. It feels more like a small resort than anything. It's clean, the night sleep is good, and the facilities are fun and nice. I'm really curious to see what they may replace the shuffleboard area with! Great place, it is next to the airport, so no direct beach access, but the pool is fantastic. There's also a great shuttle that runs every 45 minutes and takes you to the Waterfront Brewery, in downtown Key West. It would be better if there were more tropical fruits at the breakfast (there were apples, oranges, and bananas only), and they play a LOT of country music on the speakers by the pool (more reggae would fit much better, since it feels like the Caribbean here), but we are happy with our stay overall. read more

We chose the hotel for the pool and tiki hut bar and it did not disappoint. Our bartender Dave was fun and entertaining. He served the best drinks and best laughs that we had all weekend.
