The small but pleasant lobby area.

Serviceable and clean Hampton Inn - and really not much other choices within the Massillon city limits anyway! The entrance is rather odd, being approached from within a parking garage, but it was a clean, decently priced, and comfortable enough. The rooms were fine as well though a little noisy as the windows didn't do a good enough job blocking out the street noises. The breakfast area off the lobby was attractive and roomy enough. The fitness room, however, is a bit tight - very small - with only 1 each of an elliptical, treadmill, and bicycle - and of these, only the treadmill was operational (the other two were not plugged in for some reason - and lacked power cords inexplicably). There was 1 weight bench as well with a dumb-bell set up to 50 lbs. Adequate if you're their alone - would be definitely a crowd with 3! The hotel does recognize this and offered free guest passes to a full-size gym nearby.

Nice Hampton however, got the feeling they might have to be selective about unwanted guest. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Nice room nothing over the top. The breakfast selection was good and the dining area was clean. I would recommend if your in the area.

The staff was very professional. We really appreciated the barista going out of her way to provide our grandchild with a fun experience. The towels are large and soft. The bedding was apparently new as it was stiff, so not as comfortable as it looked. The bed was very firm but did seem to tilt to the edges. The room we had apparently had direct access to the venting for the AC and it was really loud each time the AC came on so avoid room 110 . There was a sound machine available on the nightstand which I was assuming was to mask the road sounds but I didn't hear the traffic at all so now I think it may have been to blend the sounds of the AC. We will definitely use this hotel again, just ask for a different room.

The room was nice and a decent size. The breakfast was fine. My one star review is solely based on…read morethe customer service of one of the front desk ladies. She seemed like she may have been a manager of some sort but I didn't catch her name. On the last night of our stay my husband's aunt came to watch our 3 year old who just learned how to swim, swim in the pool. This short blonde lady stopped my aunt as she was walking in the lobby and asked "can I help you?" my aunt said "I'm just going to watch my niece swim in the pool for a minute." She said "only hotel guests are allowed in the pool." My aunt said "I wasn't going to get in I was just going to watch my great niece show me how she learned to swim". The lady said "we cannot allow you in the pool area at all." It was around 8:30pm so we would have only been in there about an hour and there was not a single other person using the pool at the time. We went to the pool area anyway and the lady came in furious that we snuck my aunt in after she told her she wasn't allowed in. BUTTTTTT the posted pool rules specially say "pool is for hotel guests AND their respective guests." She could not explain that to us and eventually said she'll allow it this time but basically just stared us down until we started getting ready to leave. If the pool rules say that hotel guests are allowed to bring guests, and there wasn't ANYONE else using the pool, the whole tantrum of this lady seemed ridiculous. My husband hasn't been home to see his family in 5 years because he's in the military, this was the first time our kids were meeting that side of their family. This whole interaction really ended our trip on a bad note. Not to mention the whole time this was going on, there were about 7 kids that looked like they couldn't be any older than about 12 messing around and being very reckless in the gym. And not one word was said to them. Only my 60 year old aunt who just wanted to watch her great niece swim for a few minutes. We will definitely try staying somewhere else next time.

Staybridge Suites Canton - Kitchenette was fabulous and the desk had all kinds of little useful cubby holes.

This hotel has been overlooked by many including myself until now…read more Needed a quick find and decided to try Staybridge. I did not expect to stumble on this gem of place. Everything was ordinary until you open the door to your room. It was an extremely spacious suite with a work area along side the living room that had a fairly good size TV. I normally don't sit on the couch but it was so inviting so I gave it a try. I didn't get up for a good hour. And it wasn't because I was tired. The kitchen has everything you could need. Whether it's regular or decaf coffee. All the utensils and pots and pans are there. It's always nice to be an able to cook a meal instead of constantly having to run out for food. The shower and bed are the two most important factors when you staying somewhere. Neither disappointed. The bed was absolutely perfect. They made it extremely hard to get out of bed. They have an indoor pool but unfortunately I didn't bring swim wear. They have an area where you can sit outside with an adult beverage. It was just nice to go out in the warm weather and relax. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. The upside is that breakfast was free. And they didn't disappoint. I have stayed in countless hotels due to my career and the Staybridge I would put close up to the top. Breakfast you had many things to choose from. Eggs, sausages, fruit, yogurt, bagels, toast, coffee cake and pastries, cereals and snack bars. Different types of coffee as well. I would highly recommend staying at the Staybridge suite hotel. Looking forward to my next visit in the area.
