We stayed as a "get away" with our young grandchild over spring break. The pool was the perfect temp as was the hot tub. The hotel is modern and very clean. The staff was very professional. We really appreciated the barista going out of her way to provide our grandchild with a fun experience. The towels are large and soft. The bedding was apparently new as it was stiff, so not as comfortable as it looked. The bed was very firm but did seem to tilt to the edges. The room we had apparently had direct access to the venting for the AC and it was really loud each time the AC came on so avoid room 110 . There was a sound machine available on the nightstand which I was assuming was to mask the road sounds but I didn't hear the traffic at all so now I think it may have been to blend the sounds of the AC. We will definitely use this hotel again, just ask for a different room. read more

The room was nice and a decent size. The breakfast was fine. My one star review is solely based on the customer service of one of the front desk ladies. She seemed like she may have been a manager of some sort but I didn't catch her name. On the last night of our stay my husband's aunt came to watch our 3 year old who just learned how to swim, swim in the pool. This short blonde lady stopped my aunt as she was walking in the lobby and asked "can I help you?" my aunt said "I'm just going to watch my niece swim in the pool for a minute." She said "only hotel guests are allowed in the pool." My aunt said "I wasn't going to get in I was just going to watch my great niece show me how she learned to swim". The lady said "we cannot allow you in the pool area at all." It was around 8:30pm so we would have only been in there about an hour and there was not a single other person using the pool at the time. We went to the pool area anyway and the lady came in furious that we snuck my aunt in after she told her she wasn't allowed in. BUTTTTTT the posted pool rules specially say "pool is for hotel guests AND their respective guests." She could not explain that to us and eventually said she'll allow it this time but basically just stared us down until we started getting ready to leave. If the pool rules say that hotel guests are allowed to bring guests, and there wasn't ANYONE else using the pool, the whole tantrum of this lady seemed ridiculous. My husband hasn't been home to see his family in 5 years because he's in the military, this was the first time our kids were meeting that side of their family. This whole interaction really ended our trip on a bad note. Not to mention the whole time this was going on, there were about 7 kids that looked like they couldn't be any older than about 12 messing around and being very reckless in the gym. And not one word was said to them. Only my 60 year old aunt who just wanted to watch her great niece swim for a few minutes. We will definitely try staying somewhere else next time. read more

I took the bug to the front desk and the girl working switched my room . she was rude . they refused a refund . I am a huge fan of the Hyatt brand of hotels, and this one did not disappoint. We did a staycation here. It is smaller, but the rooms were nice and clean. We did have an accessible room, and it ended up being a hearing accessible room, which worked for us as we needed the larger bathroom and tub. Staff at the front desk and housekeeping were very nice and helpful. The pool was a bit smaller, but we were the only ones in it at that time so it worked great for us. The location is great. There are so many things right around there, shopping, restaurants, anything really you could want. However it is also in very close proximity to the highway so noise can be a little louder sometimes. They did offer breakfast that came with the room, and that was pretty good as well. read more

We came to Canton to visit the Pro Football Hall of Fame and decided to spend the night at this nearby hotel. It was a good choice. The hotel is new, modern and very bright. We had a 4th floor room with a nice view of the surrounding area. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The hotel also has a gym, an indoor pool, and a laundry room. We even used the laundry room after getting a roll of quarters from the front desk. Complimentary breakfast is included. They had scrambled eggs, pancakes, turkey bacon, and plenty of fresh fruit. One concern regarding our stay, someone at front desk charged our room $2.66 for hair comb and deodorant. That front desk agent just gave those items to us as if they were free. They never mentioned to us there would be a charge of $2.66. It's up to us to ask everytime will there be a charge if we ask for anything? How are guests supposed to know what's free and what's not free? Not right to just give stuff to the guest and fail to advise them about a room charge. This is sneaky business practices. Nice salt water pool and jacuzzi. Big problem their jacuzzi damaged my bathing suit. This was caused by the texture of the Jacuzzi seating area. Rooms were very clean. This is my go-to hotel when visiting family in Canton. Located near Belden Village, it's a convenient home base for our weekends. It's close to our family's homes and has all the benefits of being near a major retail area, including restaurant and shopping options. The staff are always incredibly friendly and helpful. The gallery has a nice selection of wine (try something from Gervasi - it's local). Breakfast is a decent hot meal and is free to World of Hyatt members. Our rooms have always been clean and comfortable. Deciding to come back here is the easiest part of our trips to Ohio. read more

This would have been 5 stars. The room was 5 stars. AMAZING. Even though the hotel is next to highway 77 and next to popular shopping malls - the room is TOTALLY quiet! Great insulated windows. Why it Lost a star? It had an indoor pool ( not outdoor as website boasted) indoor pool would have been fine with me. But there was SO much chlorine in the hot tub and no ventilation that my eyes started to burn upon entering the room. Windows could not open. All the people who came to pool went outside to patio because of chlorine. I mentioned it to front desk. They were polite but I didn't get the feeling it would be addressed. I had stayed the previous two nights at the nearby Marriott and I still prefer the Hyatt but will call first and ask about 4 inches of chlorine bubbles hovering on the surface of the hot tub. ( in case they look and say "no bubbles" the water appears clear when not turned on. Bubbles emit chlorine when tub it turned on. ) read more

My wife called down for a fork so I could eat my cake. They said "We're too busy. You'll need to come downstairs." I looked at the parking lot on a Monday and there were hardly any cars there. So I went down to the lobby. Not one person in sight in the lobby. This is COVID era. No one's getting hotel rooms. So I went downstairs and said "You couldn't bring one plastic fork to our room?!?" He said "I'm busy." I looked around and said "hardly ANY cars in the parking lot. NO ONE in the lobby." He immediately responded with DO YOU WANT ME TO CALL THE POLICE??!" I was like ""What?!? By far this has been the best experience we have had in a hotel. The team actually went out of their way to see how we were, if we needed anything, and did whatever they could to take care of us. Kenny and Alyese at the front were phenomenal.... They went above and beyond to assist. They helped us find places to go and things to see. Their customer service was truly genuine and it definitely made our stay much more enjoyable because of them! As for the hotel itself... It smells new because it is, this place is great, very clean, comfortable, amenities were nice, bar/lounge was great, food was tasty, the location is great - close to everything. ($250) It took multiple weeks just to be able to talk to the manager and when I did I was given the run around for several more weeks! End result: housekeeping stole a 250 dollar item from me and I got nothing after wasting weeks of my time trying to have it found or replaced. Loved our stay at Hyatt Place Canton! The staff were very friendly. Room was clean and modern looking. The 2 queen bed and sofa bed room was very spacious for my family of 5. The pool and hot tub were great. Gym was small but included plenty of equipment and anyway most of the time it was empty. Breakfast every morning was nice. Food during our stay included eggs, toast, breakfast potatoes or tater tots, fresh fruit, yogurt, coffee, juice, and various cereal choices including a gluten free option (Cheerios). Only slight issue was a stain on the carpet but I'm sure those are hard to keep up with especially with most hotels having staffing issues. Oh, and housekeeping came our second day (out of a 3 night stay), which I was pleasantly surprised about because in all the recent reviews I've read then most hotels are only providing housekeeping to those staying 5 or more days. read more

Booked because google reviews all said the place was clean and the staff was great. While the staff was nice, specifically the woman working the front desk, the rooms were not clean. All of the doors had handprints and scuffs all over them. The elevators had a bad musty smell and buttons were sticky with fingerprints. I checked into my room and immediately noticed dark hairs all over the sheets and stubble on the bathroom sink and counter. I requested another room and was moved no problem (again, thanks to the wonderful front desk staff Jasmine) and my second room was better, however there were pubic hairs and mold in the shower and door handles were sticky. In the midst of a pandemic, I would expect more out of a hotel in terms of cleanliness and sanitation. read more

The aesthetics of this hotel are real cool the rooms set up cool it felt really nice. Once I was done with my shower I realized the towels are about 2 feet long by 1 foot wide. That really sucked. Then in the morning I realized there was no ironing board which super sucks when you have business to attend as soon as you leave. There was a mysterious room that was locked in my room. This hotel was mostly good in general, but during my stay we came into a situation. After a long day, we came back to the hotel to see that our room was locked from the inside. We had no idea how it happened and went to ask the front desk. With doing that we thought it was going to be a smooth task with them opening it for us but the manager first said the maintenance guy is off for the weekend to fix the door. On top of that we had to wait 30 mins until the owner of the hotel came and tried opening the door to tell us that we were one the ones that broke the door. After all of this waiting she put all the blame on us for breaking the lock. She had told us that's we will be fined for breaking the lock. We were shocked to hear this, in her own words she said, " My employees would never do this." Implying that we were at fault for slamming the door to break it. We were also barely at the hotel for less than a day!This was outrageous. This hotel customer service is okay but the owner was treating us like children. She said some rude things and that i would NEVER expect to hear out of a owner. She made comments about us apparently talking "crap" about her in a different language, but if she really understands it she would know that I was explaining to my friend what was happening... apparently I can't speak my own language here. Stay was off to a bad start at check in. The desk agent said we had to pay $15 because we were checking in an hour early. REALLY? I have spent well over 2000 nights in hotels and that was a first. Absolutely ridiculous. So if I check out before 11 am, do they charge me for an early check out also?? I failed to make sure there was a hair dryer when I arrived. The next morning, after the shower, I realized that there was no hair dryer. I called desk and she said "I will try to find one". I waited at least 10 minutes, no hair dryer. I called back and asked "Is there an unoccupied room? If so I want you to go to that room and bring that hair dryer to me". I guess she could not think ahead enough to figure that out. The general "manager" then got on line and said she would find a hair dryer. She delivered it with a surly attitude. I have a LOT of choices in hotels. This was not a good stay and it makes me not want to book Hyatts in the future. The hotel was clean, but the room was not really overly spacious. I booked a 2 queen SB. My emailed reservations clearly state this. The lady who checked us in explained nothing to us. We found our room and we were given a King room. I called the front desk and the lady said that I had booked a King not 2 Queen. I eplained to her that even my emailed reservations said 2 Queen not a King. She said there was nothing she could do since they were booked full. The room was very small. All the pictures on here make the rooms look huge but it was very small. The next morning we went down for breakfast. It was average, nothing special. The room and hotel were clean. There were not towels at the pool. I guess we expected more from the hotel. read more

Reserved a room while here 2 weeks ago. Requested a first floor room. At that time was told it would be no problem. Now we check in and get told we are on second floor. Once we get to this room it is as far from elevator as possible. Starting to realize why I prefer Hilton brand hotels. Their only solution to the room debacle is move is closer to elevator, still on second floor (remember 2 weeks ago first floor was ok) and did not even offer to upgrade us, shameful. They know we cannot get another room now and are stuck with whatever they give us. Had they been honest 2 weeks ago and let us know the first floor would not have been possible I would have made arrangements at that time, now it is to late. After the visit and our arrival at home we discovered my child had left his blanket there. This is his security and he has never slept without it. We called immediately at they confirmed they would send it to us st their cost. I was starting to get pleased again. Now come Wed following the Fri night stay. We are still without my sons blanket. My wife calls them to determine when it shipped. Amazingly it is still in hotel. I was going to update this and give them a better score, but it seems every time I give them a chance the mess it up. We are now paying the shipping for my dons blanket, which would have done in beginning but they offered. I know the left behind item is our fault, but do not make commitments you do not plan to complete. Terrible customer service all around, food was decent but water at breakfast bar was warm and without ice. Staff seemed confused and incompetent. Our family of 6 stopped into Canton, OH to see the football hall of fame, went shopping at the Belden Village Mall, ate dinner at The Rail (awesome food though a little pricey) and across the street was the Hyatt. Everything else we looked into couldn't accommodate 6 people, looked dirty, or no pool. This Hyatt Place is brand new, Awesome service, Clean, decent size pool with hot tub, beautiful nice big rooms that CAN sleep 6 people, with wonderfully friendly people that gave us a better rate just cause we asked. We used to be an embassy suites family now we will be on the lookout for Hyatt hotels because of this experience. read more

My family stayed here for four nights when we came to town for a funeral. The hotel is beautifully appointed, and the rooms are clean and lovely. The staff is helpful and friendly--big plus. One of the best things about the hotel are the breakfasts. Tami is a wonderful cook, and each day had a different spin on breakfast, plus all of the usual items one might like. Kudos to Tami! There is room for improvement in a few areas to make the guest's visit more enjoyable. Some in our party (staying in a different room) paid extra for breakfast. Ours was no charge due to being a frequent guest of Hyatt Hotels. However, we noticed that nobody is checking who paid for breakfast and who didn't, as people filed in to eat. I asked how they sort this out and was told they ask guests at check-out if they had breakfast, and charge appropriately, thus relying on the honesty of the guest. Well, what about the people who check out online and don't get that question? Also, when we checked out nobody asked us if we had breakfast or not. In this day and age, when hotels include the cost of breakfast in the price of the room, this system seems archaic. I noticed the lobby floors were being mopped during daytime hours, and during the breakfast time frame. My husband actually slipped and fell on a wet floor that was not properly marked as wet. Thank goodness he wasn't injured badly as we had an 8 hour drive ahead of us. His wrist still hurts 3 days later. Mopping and the cleaning of public areas should be done at night. I also walked past vacuuming of the seating area during the morning. Guests should never see this. It could be a safety issue. Lastly, the lighting in the rooms is dark in my opinion. Many of my comments are of little consequence to the enjoyment of our stay, but addressing some of these points would make the guest's visit better. All in all, I would come back again but keep these things in mind. read more

This is a really nice place. I stayed a week at this location and travel throughout the country for work so I have a lot to compare to the Hyatt Place Canton. First of all the staff cares about what they do and how they can impact you positively. Being welcomed when you come back from work by your first name is awesome. The food is healthy and well circulated to provide a nice variety breakfast in the morning. The 24/7 menu they offer is also well done at prices that fit normal budgets and can be compared to restaurants in this area. Location is awesome. If you need a lunch or dinner for yourself or a group or even a client. Every type of restaurant is just minutes away. The shuttle bus will take you or a short ride with inexpensive Uber rides make it very convenient. Fresh food, good location, friendly staff, upscale rooms, great amenities, focused on satisfying the consumers win win. read more

We generally love the Hyatt place collection but this one fell short. We stayed just one night and arrived pretty late as we were traveling home from vacation. We were limited to choices as we had the dog. This hotel charged $70 for the pet fee which seems really high. The room was pretty small compared to other Hyatt place we have stayed in. There were no sheets in the closet for the fold out bed. They were pretty nice when we asked for them. You can hear every bit of the traffic on the road below. We were on the third floor and had a noise machine going. It sounded like a drag car race. I'm not sure who designed a frosted sliding door on the bathroom. If someone gets up in the night to use it the other people can see the light through the door. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast was extremely good. The amazing free breakfast is why I gave 3 stars. I would not pick this location again due to the noise but I will try Hyatt again. read more
