Chair with multiple stains. Guess they never heard of Scotchguard or a steam cleaner.
    Edward B.

PRO'S: the bed was comfortable and the A/C worked well (quiet with just the right amount of white noise). The staff was also friendly during the check in process. CON'S: the maintenance at this property is lacking. The door to the closet would not stay closed so I had to place the trash can against the door to keep it closed. The tub would not drain properly so unless you like standing in inches of water while showering... See picture of flexsteel chair in room...it looked so dirty/stained I thought they pulled it from a frat house to furnish the room. The desk in the room did not have a lamp so good luck if you are wanting to get any work done if you are on business...and there were zero electrical outlets at or near the desk. I pulled the desk away thinking there must be some, but there were not.

    Black mold on shower

Was not impressed. Beds at HI are usually soft but this one definitely was not. Black mold along ceiling in shower. Worse was animal or possibly human hair all over couch. I mean, "wipe your hand on couch and get a fistful of hair" covered. I found out after I'd eaten and showered, and sat on couch to work on laptop. So I had to put blanket on couch to sit on it. No idea how the maid didn't see this mess. I noticed it earlier but I assumed it was stains. Sundries terrible. Big drawers contained one box Pepto Bismol and some floss. Nothing microwavable. Breakfast was microwaved cheese omelet. Great for us lactose intolerant folks. Tried to call once I left as I was worried they'd think I left that hair all over couch and try to charge me for a dog, but no answer and kept saying "mailbox full." Restaurants near have terrible ratings. If traveling east, keep going as the area gets much better towards Tupelo.

The hotel was in great location. Plenty of restaurants and a few places to shop with a Walmart right down the road. Carolyn was great at the front desk and all the staff at the hotel were nice. Breakfast was good as well. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay again.

The disgusting murky water at this hotel.

This hotel (Hampton Inn Olive Branch by Hilton International) was the first Hilton hotel I have ever been to that I was disappointed about. To start off my stay, the front desk workers were friendly and well knowing of things in the region and quick to bringing us any requests to our room. This however does not balance with all the disappointments we were faced with at this hotel. The pool was disgusting and I am posting a picture of it. The water was murky, so much that the third step was barely visible and the floor of the pool (in 3') was not visible. The water had floating garbage and the hot tub was no different. Though the front desk woman at the time claimed that it was. Chlorine pool, she said it so with a questionable tone in her voice. She did not know whether the pool should have looked like so. iThe rooms carpets had an oily film covering it. This forced us to wear our slippers/flip flops in our room. This hotel was a disappointment and I highly disregard anyone or stepping foot on this property.

Just recently built, this is a brand new hotel just opened in September of 2020. Because it is new,…read moreit has new updated hotel furnishings for 2021. So, if you want to stay in the newest hotel in the Memphis area and see what it is like, stay here. New features: it has a sliding door for the closet unlike I have never seen before. If you slide to the left, it closes off the bathroom. The shower is half open which you go in and stand behind a glass. There's no door. In the King Suite, there is a couch that is big enough for someone to make a bed out of. Big flat screen tv is attached to the wall. All the lights are new 2020 updated lighting. Anyway, I used my Choice Hotels App to stay here for free. It only costs me 8000 points. Considering this is a $90 night hotel, I got a good deal. I walk up to check in, tell them I have a reservation and give them my name. They say " you using your points? " and I say yes. Then, they ask the most annoying question which I hate hotels to asks me. " What brings you here". What a nosy question. Why can't they just give me my digital key so I can go. I enjoyed my hotel stay. The room was real nice. In fact, I think this is the best hotel I have stayed at. Everything is new and clean and updated in today's society. Yes, I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in the Memphis area. It's worth driving a little out of your way if you ask me.

What I Didn't Like About This Hotel…read more Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. From the moment I arrived until the time I checked out, there were numerous issues that negatively impacted my experience. The staff was very rude and often unavailable when assistance was needed. There was rarely anyone at the front desk, and when I needed help, I had difficulty reaching someone. I called the front desk from my room five times before anyone answered. When I finally spoke with a staff member, I explained the concerns I was having with the room. He informed me that he would come by at 7:00 a.m. the following morning to inspect the room and address the issues I had reported. Unfortunately, I never heard from him again. No one followed up, and there was absolutely no communication regarding my concerns. Upon entering the room, there was only one set of towels provided, despite my children and I being guests in the room. When we went to shower, we discovered unknown hair in the shower, which immediately raised concerns about cleanliness. To make matters worse, there appeared to be old blood stains on the bed sheets. This was both disturbing and unacceptable. The room had several maintenance issues as well. The bathroom sink was clogged and would not drain properly. Only one electrical outlet seemed to function in the bathroom. The bathroom light switch had been damaged, and one side appeared to have been cut or sawed off, exposing visible wiring. If someone was not paying attention, this could potentially be a serious safety hazard. The room phone sat on the table unplugged and completely unusable. The clock was also nonfunctional, with the cord simply wrapped around it rather than plugged into a power source. It appeared as though both items were placed in the room merely for appearance rather than actual use. The toilet emitted a loud whistling noise throughout the night, making it difficult to rest. The pillows were uncomfortable and provided very little support. The bathroom towels were extremely thin, with loose threads hanging from them and visible holes throughout. They appeared worn out and in desperate need of replacement. The elevators were another concern. They felt extremely hot and stuffy, with little to no ventilation. Each time I rode the elevator, it felt uncomfortable and poorly maintained. My colleague, who was staying in the room next to mine, experienced issues with the air conditioning. The unit was not functioning properly, forcing them to leave their room door open after midnight due to the heat. Maintenance did not finish working on the unit until after 1:00 a.m., resulting in loud banging and repair noises late into the night. I was also very dissatisfied with the hotel's payment process. My card was charged twice during my stay. The hotel places a deposit hold on your card when you book the room and then charges the full amount again when you arrive. This was never properly explained beforehand. As a result, I was charged double the amount during my stay. When I attempted to get clarification from the staff, the explanation was delivered in a rude and dismissive manner rather than with professionalism and courtesy. The vending machines only accept cash, which was inconvenient and not clearly communicated. Guests should be aware that debit cards are not accepted. The cleanliness of the carpet was particularly alarming. I never walk barefoot on hotel carpets, so after my shower I put on a clean pair of gray footies. By the time I got into bed, the bottoms of my footies looked as though I had walked through asphalt. The amount of dirt collected from the carpet was shocking and indicated that the flooring had not been properly cleaned. While I did enjoy the waffles at breakfast, the breakfast options overall were very limited. Guests may want to bring their own protein snacks or additional breakfast items if they expect a more substantial meal. The final interaction with staff confirmed my disappointment. When I explained how dissatisfied I was with my stay, the staff member looked at me without any empathy, threw his hands in the air, and walked away. There was no apology, concern, or attempt to resolve any of the issues I experienced. I traveled eight hours away from home because of a family emergency and hoped for a comfortable place where my children and I could rest during a difficult time. Instead, this hotel added unnecessary stress and frustration to an already challenging situation. Overall, my entire stay was horrible. Between the poor customer service, cleanliness concerns, maintenance problems, uncomfortable accommodations, communication failures, and billing issues, I would never stay at this establishment again. If you simply need a place to sleep and leave immediately, this hotel may be sufficient. However, if you value cleanliness, comfort, customer service, safety, and professionalism, I strongly recommend choosing another hotel.

I am a Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Silver member and currently hold Gold status…read more I booked my stay through the Marriott app and checked in online, requesting a mobile key. When I arrived at my assigned room, I was surprised to find that the bed had already been slept in. I returned to the front desk to request another room and asked if there were any available on the first floor. The clerk gave me a key card without any apology and seemed more focused on whatever he was doing at a table in the lobby than on addressing my concerns. The second room--located right next to the first--was also disappointing. The dishwasher was still running with dirty dishes inside, the body wash in the shower was actually a shampoo bottle with "BW" written over the label in marker, the toilet paper holder was broken and spun in circles, the mirror was dirty, and none of the trash cans had liners properly placed inside. Breakfast was equally underwhelming: premade sandwiches, half-cooked quiche, and limited options. The only fresh item I found was a banana tucked under a juice shelf. To make matters worse, while eating I overheard a desk clerk or manager openly criticizing a guest who had experienced problems the night before. I travel monthly and almost always choose Marriott properties. For comparison, the Fairfield Inn in Olive Branch--though older and currently under renovation--has consistently provided excellent stays. This particular hotel is less than five years old, yet the quality fell far short of expectations. To top it off, I never received the usual post-stay email inviting me to share feedback. Unfortunately, this is not a property I would return to. Marriott should take a closer look at this location to ensure it meets the standards loyal members expect.
