So, if you want to stay in the newest hotel in the Memphis area and see what it is like, stay here. New features: it has a sliding door for the closet unlike I have never seen before. If you slide to the left, it closes off the bathroom. The shower is half open which you go in and stand behind a glass. There's no door. In the King Suite, there is a couch that is big enough for someone to make a bed out of. Big flat screen tv is attached to the wall. All the lights are new 2020 updated lighting. Anyway, I used my Choice Hotels App to stay here for free. It only costs me 8000 points. Considering this is a $90 night hotel, I got a good deal. I walk up to check in, tell them I have a reservation and give them my name. They say " you using your points? " and I say yes. Then, they ask the most annoying question which I hate hotels to asks me. " What brings you here". What a nosy question. Why can't they just give me my digital key so I can go. I enjoyed my hotel stay. The room was real nice. In fact, I think this is the best hotel I have stayed at. Everything is new and clean and updated in today's society. Yes, I highly recommend this hotel if you stay in the Memphis area. It's worth driving a little out of your way if you ask me.

I had to go out and buy a professional spray/deodorizer to help with the smell. Could I have requested a new room, yes but I attempted to remedy it myself. I first asked the housekeeper to help with the smell, she just handed me Lysol. Which made it worse. Lots of stains on carpet and walls. So make sure to not be barefooted walking around. There were old food crumbs along side the walls. Which means carpet was not thoroughly vacuumed or not vacuumed at all. Breakfast was ok. Basic breakfast items that was just in warmers (sausage and eggs) and make your own waffle option. Overall , it can be a decent stay. It could just been my room that got skipped in the detailed cleaning. I may possible give it another try next time I come to town. Will request a walk through first

On top of that, there was hair in the tub and all over the bathroom floor. For a family, the bathroom offered no privacy. It had these old, worn-out barn-style doors that didn't close properly or lock -- a terrible design for anyone needing even a little privacy. Throughout the hotel, the walls were filthy with greasy handprints, and the overall condition made it feel like management and housekeeping had completely given up on maintaining any sort of standard. We didn't stay the night. We picked up our bags, returned the keys to the front desk, and told them there was absolutely no way we could stay in a place like this. It was that bad.

However I am surprised they never offered a discount or any kind of "for your troubles" thing. 1st- the lobby was okay and the staff was nice but the carpet in the hallways and the elevator were dirty. 2nd - When I got to my room there was no remote so as I look for it and instead found garbage and a lot of dust behind the dresser and under the bed, against the walls. 3rd- There was some kind of something in the air that burned my eyes, but only while I was in the room, not outside or in the main lobby or other parts of facility. When I requested a new room they didn't have any. 4th- I decided I can make it work since it was only one night but then I pulled back my sheets and found dried food and sauce between the sheets and the bedspread. Of course housekeeping was gone so they just gave me an extra set of sheets. It was an uncomfortable night. This location should be reviewed by the Hilton folks. NOTE - My co-worker had no issues with his room. It looks like I just drew the short straw this time around.

Breakfast was hot and frequently being checked to see if refills of items were needed. The room was comfortable, as we were passing thru and only needed to stay for the night. Unfortunately, it appeared that our bathroom had not been cleaned. Previous persons soap still in shower and lots of hair remained in floor. So much that you could tell floor had not been cleaned and it was sticky from previous cleaning. Multiple old stains on couch that could use cleaned. No bedding such as sheets, blanket or pillows available for pull out couch for our kids. Overall, it was a good hotel, just could use better cleaning after each guest.

Upon check in the front desk attendant seemed befuddled by basic questions including how much our stay would cost. We asked for maid service each day but only received it on one day. Excellent equipment in the gym but the bike didn't work. I asked if it could be fixed but the attendant didn't know if anyone could be called to fix it. All of the washers were out of order. I could understand if one or two were not working.... But 4?? The breakfast buffet should have a few more items such as Raisin Bran. Why not keep cups and hot water available all the time. We had 2 rooms. Irons provided in both were not up to par; one had black stuff on it. With a few changes it would be a much better place to stay

The rooms however have seen a steady aging that are in need of serious updating. Interiors doors don't close all the way. Toilets bolts are often loose causing a rocking motion if not careful. During a current stay, the pair of reading lights didn't work, and the light switch by the door had black tape over it. The rooms are the truest definition of basic. Not exactly sure what's going on here but the rooms need attention.

I was not happy with the rooms though and the person at the front desk. When I went to my room and opened the door it freaked of chemicals. I got a headache just standing in there. The front desk man did not apologize and did not say a word, he just took my key and gave me a new room. Very disappointed. The hotel had no WiFi that night as well.
