Very pleased with Hampton Inn. Solid hot breakfast... Waffles, sausage, eggs, and really good potatoes. Very nicely decorated for Christmas. Staff was very friendly. Fireplace in lobby. Fruit, coffee and water available 24/7. Microwave near lobby. Very clean hotel and room. I see why Hampton Inn was my Dad's go to hotel. Saw quite a few dogs in the hotel, so I guess this Hampton is pretty friendly. read more

I want to give them a better rating but it's really hard you pay the daily room rate, think I am paying 140, so that you can use the pool but then the pool is rented out to mommy and me swimming in the afternoons so if you want to stay here with kids that want to use the pool at 2,3,4,5 in the afternoon it's not gonna happen. And I've been here for four days and breakfast is never open on time I know that's a small thing but when I'm here for work, and I have be to work at a certain time, then I really need you to be open when you're supposed to be. because you're not, then I have to go buy breakfast somewhere else. And they still can't explain why at 5 o'clock the day before I check out somebody from the hotel is just walking into my room and then saying oh sorry why are you walking in my room at 5 o'clock at night when I'm about to take a shower. Overall The staff was nice. My room and bathroom are clean. Finally, this hotel is homebase for a massive work force of oil workers. So a lot of the hallways floors elevators are pretty dirty just a few things that they leave out of the brochure when you're booking ha ha. read more

This Hampton would be my least favorite. When we arrived there was no parking and people were smoking at the entrance. In addition to smoking they were drinking beer too. The fourth floor was like senior week all night long. Additionally, the toilet ran and overflowed. When my husband informed the lady of the problems she thanked him. I am a Hampton Inn freak and travel quite a bit. What I like about Monroeville is that it's out of the city, right off the freeway, and the staff is always GREAT! They always greet me as a repeat customer, have everything up and ready - seemingly like they knew I was going to walk in- and on the couple of occasions, recognized me upon entering. Always clean rooms, great beds ( HILTON GOT ME HOOKED), and even with a kind of cruddy Longhorn next door, ( I dont stay for food), it's always good. Good value, good ole southern hospitality in the North! read more

Nice hotel with super staff right next door to an Outback if you want to go out and eat or they deliver if preferred. Hotel has been remodeled and is updated and quiet. I needed to book a hotel for my weekend visit. The Hampton was my choice. Good ratings and a decent price in comparison to others in he area. The Hampton Inn is right off of the Pa Turnpike in Monroeville Pa which is where i grew up. It is right in the midst of a variety of stores, shopping and eating destinations within walking distance. Would I walk, Ahhhh....Probably not as the roads are pretty busy. However, if one wants to leapfrog across the road to the strip mall across the street than ok. The parking is not great at all. The fact that the Outback Steakhouse shares the same lot is the real problem here. I did manage to luck out and find some decent spots due to those who were leaving the restaurant. The hotel is cozy and up to date. The rooms have been redone and it is quiet. The window kind of tricks you. There was a large wall but the Window was rather small. No big deal as there was nothing to see as the window was near the freeway. There is a coffee pot, fridge and flat screen Tv in the room. It also has free Wifi. The bed was comfortable although there could be larger pillows. There were four small pillows which was kind of different. There is also a nice pool and a workout room. I made use of the workout room. I used the elliptical which was new. There are also weight machines, free weights and Treadmills. I gave the place a 3.5 because of the parking. However, being able to go right next door to Outback or Max and Ermas was a plus. I would certainly stay again. read more

This was my first business trip in a while, and one of my colleagues booked the hotel. I was pleasantly surprised. In spite of a rough check-in experience wherein one of the two people working at the front desk was new and my colleague was short on patience, it was a nice place. My room was tidy and clean for my one-night stay. The free morning breakfast had a fair amount of options, but they were heavy on the grains (cereal, oats, waffles). I opted for eggs, which were a little cool, and sausage, which was good. My favorite part was the to-go bag, though. With a muffin, fruit bar, piece of fruit, and water for the road, this definitely perked up our 40-minute drive back to the airport! Unfortunately, there was no hot tub, but there was a pool. I didn't get to try that out this time around. Would definitely take it for a spin if we ever get back to the area, though! read more

Was visiting Pittsburgh temple and this is a nice place to stay for the night. Some of good things to point out are Welcoming staff. Good and clean beds. Well maintained. Complimentary hot breakfast was good. Nice environment for family. Lot of food choices around the hotel if u would like to dine or pick up. We will stay here next time when we are around. read more

Very nice hotel if you happend to be in the area. I visited Monroeville about once a year for my work, so this is my fav place to stay when i m here. Its located on top of outback steak house... Nice dinner everynight. Room is clean, standard Hampton inn quality. I just hope they have microwaves in the room and loundry facility in the building. But thats something i can be without. One of the better hotels that I've stayed in ... I've stayed here several occasions on multiple-night trips. The rooms are very nicely appointed and the hotel, overall, is very clean. There is an Outback adjacent to the hotel and myself and several coworkers have eaten there and we've all been underwhelmed. There are several other restaurants a short drive away and there are menus in the lobby to look at. While the road is somewhat confusing if you've never been to this place, it's not rocket science because the hotel is so large, you just drive toward it and you'll get there. There are no secret roads or secret shortcuts. The parking is smallish and gets congested with the restaurant trade but that's the only problem I've experienced. While the rooms are spacious, nice and clean, what stands out to me is the exemplary housekeeping. I've never met any of them, but they leave friendly notes and anything you ask for, they leave behind for when you return. My rooms have been incomparably clean and restocked daily with plenty of towels, toiletries and anything special I ask for. This is the hotel that myself and all of coworkers stay at when we're in town. Great job !! read more

Stayed here on a road trip to Philadelphia right before Thanksgiving. Great experience! Rooms and hallways look redone recently...pretty fashionable for a hotel. Beds were super comfy. Weirdly...there were no bathroom rods. Only 2 hooks to hold towels! We only stayed one night, so it wasn't an issue. Also - the road to get there is a bit confusing. GPS wanted us to turn into a parking lot, which led to aka secret road that led to the hotel. Not too bad, but just be warned! Would suggest anyone looking for a hotel in the area stay here. read more

My boyfriend and I have been staying here for weekends at a time, every few months, for over a year now....and we love it! We recently had a bad stay at a more expensive hotel downtown that really reminded us why we like the Hampton so much lol. Staff is always friendly, and the room is always clean when we come in. Location is central, and the breakfast is awesome and well maintained (they switch out the hot foods fairly often, and the fruit is fresh). We haven't had a single bad experience here! read more

I'm a frequent traveler, and my brand loyalty generally leads me to hotels within the Hilton family. So, when I figured out I'd be in Pittsburgh this weekend, I started searching the city for inexpensive rooms at Hilton (and other) brand locations. It turned out that Pittsburgh hosted the commencement ceremony for the University of Pittsburgh and a National Rifle Association convention this weekend, and all the hotels in the city had raised their prices through the roof. Fortunately, I found this Hampton Inn location (it's part of the Hilton family) out in the 'burbs on the correct side of the city (my business this weekend is mostly in Pittsburgh's east end), and it was under my $150/night threshold for suburban mid-tier hotel stays. I hadn't stayed at a Hampton Inn in the past and, assuming it would obviously be lower in the corporate hierarchy than Hilton Garden Inn, was very surprised at the quality of the hotel. The rooms are well-appointed and very clean, the beds are much more comfortable than at Hilton Garden Inn locations, the staff is very nice, and the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate were more than welcome. I didn't try the complimentary breakfast, but I heard it was pretty good and had enough variety to be repeatable. The highlight of the stay, however, was one particular graveyard shift employee, who was a very sweet and interesting lady who would chat with my girlfriend and me for a while late at night. I've never met a more friendly or enjoyable hotel desk worker, and she really brightened up an otherwise fairly stressful trip to Pittsburgh. read more

Very nice welcome. Fully stocked snack area. Water, hot. Beverages, apples, newspaper available at all times. Room was clean and bathroom spacious. Very conveniently located by turnpike and parkway. Outback Steakhouse next door and will deliver to lobby. Pretty good deal for the money. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Very friendly staff here as well. Had a texas shaped waffle in Pittsburgh. Good location Cons: The hotel management should make sure the room is clean and neat before letting the guests use the room. We're happy with the place, well kept, clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Parking can be an issue on weekends, seems to be barely enough spaces Friday and Saturday nights. Next to the turnpike and 20 minutes to downtown with light traffic (add 5 minutes for normal traffic). No microwave in room, Little in the way of drawers for clothing - very little. Complimentary breakfast 6-10 gets a solid B, as does the coffee. Don't come late for breakfast though, after 9 the pickings are slim. The only thing that bothers me is the $6/day charge for internet. I'm already paying $135/night. (The complimentary free internet is painfully slow - think back to the aol dial up days). I've stayed at other places that include it, even restaurants, fast food joints, and coffee shops have free internet that you can watch video on. It's cheaper for me to add data on my phone if needed. read more

Had a horrible experience at another hotel down the street. The people working at the front desk of the Hampton Inn were so nice in helping us get a room for the night. The let us check in early so we could get showered and dressed for a wedding we were attending that afternoon. Great hospitality! Will stay again when in the area. read more

We came to the area for a funeral and were pleasantly and nostalgically surprised to find one of the wall prints was a picture of a room key from the motel that was once owned by my husband's family on Rte 22. As it was my husband 's father that passed, quite a nice reminder of happier times. The staff at this location was amazing, from check in to being so gracious in their communication. Nicely appointed and Morgan and her staff were on top of everything as far as customer service during a difficult time. read more

Giving this 1 star because we couldn't find the actual building due to 1) renovations of the building and 2) the street signs are covered by trees. There is no signage to identify the building during renovations and no directions indicating that you have to go around back to check in. I was shocked that management didn't realize that alternate signage is needed to let tired, out-of-town travelers know how to find the hotel. Today I tried to get through to the hotel and absolutely no one is answering the phones. The main operator, Gwen, was extremely helpful. Once we checked in, the Concierge at the time was top notch! Great hotel! Both the room and bathroom were clean and relatively spacious. Our double queen bedroom had a microwave, fridge, TV, and direct USB cable charging. There were plenty of desks and chairs if workspace was needed, and wifi was fast as well. A variety of well made breakfast options. Highly recommend! read more

This is a very good hotel. Great stay and breakfast! We were coming from Virginia headed to Michigan and this was are half way point. After leaving in the morning, we realized that we left a birthday with cash in the room. We called and the staff looked into it and called us back right away. Plenty of parking available and extremely convenient location to the turnpike and 376. Staff friendly and accommodating. Really appreciate that they are pet-friendly as well. Stayed here for two evenings while visiting my Dad in Monroeville. The lady behind the desk was friendly at check in, asked us where we were from. The pool was great for our kids, clean, nice size. Workout room had 4 working aerobic machines and weights. Kept very cool and comfortable. They offered fruit and water bottles in lobby for guests. Room was clean. Good overall experience. Right off highway, close to Pittsburgh. In a good safe area next to hospital, and lots of restaurants in the area. Outback is adjacent to the hotel and even delivers to your room only if you stay here. AAA rate was decent, got one room with a king bed for $98+tax. Could be cheaper. Complimentary breakfast was fine nothing special. Only major complaint would be the bed/pillows. Not very comfortable. Otherwise, good clean hotel. read more

Location was great as a stop off point to DC, but room wasn't very clean with leftover things from the previous people. Was sold out so didn't ask for another room. Staff was very friendly. Pool was nice enough and kids enjoyed it. Breakfast area was crowded but clean and has a new feel. Glad it went through a remodel recently because I would have hated to see it before. I made our reservation in June for Saturday, Aug 8, gave my credit card # and got a confirmation #. I called mid July to be sure about the reservation since I had nothing in writing and was assured of our room. I called the wk before our reservation to see if we could check in early, was told they were full so I should call the day before. I called Aug 7 about early check in and was told it was doubtful. I told them we'd be checking in after 6:00. On Aug 8th, we drove about 300 miles for a family reunion, and arrived at the hotel after 6. Tammy and Nicole behind the counter were looking at photos a man was showing them, not noticing that we were standing there with luggage. After being ignored, I interrupted and told Tammy that I was the person who just called from the road (we didn't know they shared a driveway off the highway) and we were there to check in. She proceeded to tell us that "our room had been given away and the system over-sold the hotel that morning." While we stood there, they checked in someone who arrived after us and I spoke to two women in the lobby who had rooms and had just made their reservation that week! Again, we were told that "our room" had been sold to someone else. What was suppose to make this better was that they made a reservation for us at another hotel which would be free of charge. It was 36 miles away, we were tired and hungry and it was in the opposite direction of where we would be heading to return home on Sunday. This is outrageous. I'm very certain that had we not shown up nor canceled our reservation, our credit card would have been charged. When we got home on Sunday, there was a message on our answer machine time stamped Saturday, Aug 8 at 5:10PM from Nicole saying that they had oversold and didn't have our room and would "walk us over" to their other hotel (36 miles away. Really? Long walk!) Is this a conscious corporate decision to over-book like the airlines and assume a certain percentage of people will be no shows? read more
