This is an excellent Element overall. This location primary serves business travelers as it's literally located in a business park. If you're expecting incredible views this just ain't it. It has easy access to highway 26 to downtown portland and PDX and to Cornell Rd/Bethany for all the usual local amenities like Safeway etc. The hotel is modern, clean, well equipped with amenities such as: saline pool, fitness center, hot item breakfast, coffee and tea in the lobby, complimentary beer and wine monday thru thursday, a comfortable and spacious lounge with television to watch sporting events, a friendly and courteous front desk staff who are available 24/7 to help with anything. The suites are spacious and modern--the king and double queen suites come with a basic microwave, kitchen sink and basic utensils/plates for some light meal prep. You'll have to grave to the 1 bedroom suites to get the full kitchen. TVs are modern LED displays with basic cable and a few streaming apps. The bathrooms are sleek with glass and tile throughout. The linens are a step up from i'd say a....hampden inn....plenty of light comes in from the sun in the western facing rooms. For around a 160 dollar price point this fit the bill for me. It ain't gonna knock your socks off with amazing perks or views but for the price i paid being congruent with the value provided overall they knocked it out of the park!

Fourth night here. Kids partying outside of our room with music and BBQ and everything. These kids are not even staying here. All the staff we have seen is very young and it seems that their friends are allowed to be here all day and night. They are constantly eating and drinking beer in the lobby and hanging out around the whole hotel like it's their home. It makes us as guests feel like we are invading their space. Horrible feeling. Horrible experience. Hate this hotel. Lasyly, kids couldn't go swimming for the 4 days we were here do to the NASTY pool. Photos advertised online of the pool with the glass ceiling are NOT of this hotel.

If you are looking for a nice, spacious place to stay in Hillsboro, look no further than this…read moreawesome, Japanese-inspired hotel. Unlike the typically small hotel rooms in Japan, the accommodations here are wonderfully large. Each room features a walk-in shower, a separate soaking tub, a coffee maker, a small refrigerator, and a Japanese-style bidet toilet (or washlet) that will make you want to buy one for your own home. Near the ground floor elevators, you will find complimentary coffee and lemon water. From the moment you walk through the black entrance doors, the front desk staff greets you with warmth and friendliness. Around the corner you will find a self-service store that sells gifts, souvenirs, Japanese apparel, drinks, and snacks at very reasonable prices--reminiscent of actual retail rates in Japan rather than standard inflated US hotel prices. They even sell swimwear in case you forgot yours. The property features separate men's and women's indoor Onsen-style baths where swimsuits are optional (unlike in Japan, where they are strictly prohibited). Please note that guests must be at least 14 years old to enter the baths, a departure from traditional Japanese onsens which allow younger children with parents. The grounds are beautiful, boasting a lovely indoor koi pond and stunning Japanese landscaping in the backside which you can see from the restaurant. For dining, the on-site restaurant, Waterfalls, serves an excellent mix of Japanese and American cuisine, and their Sake bar offers a fantastic variety of sakes where you can purchase by the glass, flask or purchase the bottle. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is in a very quiet location, and with great access to Hwy 26 to the coast. However. The black, utilitarian front entrance has no windows at eye level; it feels like you're walking at the back garage door. The sake bar and the outdoor pool were both closed. For two adults, 3-night stay, we got ONE washcloth. Hotel policy says room refresh is every other day and they NEVER DID IT. We checked with housekeeping on our way out on day three, double checked that we'd get clean linens ("Oh yes! No problem!"), made sure our towels were all in one spot... and came back 11 hours later to the same sheets and wet linens that we had left. The front desk gave us OLD LINENS - clean, but threadbare and NOT the same quality as what we started with, and no fresh bed linens. The bed had no top sheet; just a light covered duvet. Finally, there isn't enough parking; we parked on the street and had to walk in from half a block away two nights in a row. Would I stay again? Maybe. Not on a weekend, definitely not during the summer rush season. And if I do, I'll pack extra towels and washcloths.

We were already in the air and waiting for our transfer at SFO. I was really stressed by this cancellation. My wife and son were also very upset by this situation. My wife and I started looking for rooms in the Hillsboro area, but I was fortunate to be able to speak with Byron, the manager on duty, and he said that it was a mistake. I am not sure if it was a mistake or that it is the hotel's business practice of cancelling someone's reservation when they are overbooked? When we arrived we saw that the hotel was packed! We had booked with the hotel over a month earlier with a credit card. My only concern is if this is their business practice when they are overbooked, a reservation with a credit card means nothing to the staff at this hotel. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the female staff at the front desk who called to tell me my reservations had been cancelled for no reason. It added a tremendous amount of stress for us that day. I am not sure if we can stay at this hotel again because of their business practice when they are extremely busy. This is not how a business should treat its IHG members. The manager promised us about 10k bonus points for the stressed that it caused us but as of this posting, we had not received the points. Update (8/7/26) The only issues we had with the room are a large hole in the bedroom wall and a very old stain on the carpet that maintenance tried 6 times over 3 days to remove the stain. Evan after the last attempted carpet cleaning, Patrick, was only able to remove about 75% of the stain in the carpet. We informed the staff person on Sun and to Vanessa on Monday and attempted to resolved the problems on Tues through Thursday of our stay. I told both staff members that is was okay for maintenance/repair to come in to fix the problem during our stay. The only other issue we encountered was a lose wall socket that was not properly installed, but was fixed quickly by Patrick. I wish that Byron would have given us a complimentary two nights for all the hassle that we encountered with our reservations prior to arrival and the issues maintenance had to fix during our stay. Otherwise, I hotel was pretty comfortable and the staff was trying their best to be helpful.

Our king room was spacious, comfortable, and dog-friendly. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches for our pup, including food and water bowls in the room and a welcome treat upon arrival. One of the perks of staying overnight is access to the outdoor soaking pool, which is always a highlight. The property has plenty to enjoy, including several bars, a main restaurant, a spa, and even a movie theater. There's enough to keep you entertained without ever needing to leave the grounds. We're big fans of McMenamins in general and, as Tripsters, we're always happy to visit their unique properties. Grand Lodge continues to be one of our favorites. The staff is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. At times they seem a bit understaffed and can get busy, but the employees always do their best to provide great service and make guests feel taken care of. As described on their website, "the stately manor is filled with one-of-a-kind rooms, a beguiling ghost, spa, soaking pool, theater, games and restaurants serving handcrafted goodness." We ate lunch there and it was delicious. Their menu is quite varied with specials each day and even vegan offerings. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and purchase several things from the on-site gift shop. Parking was easy, employees were friendly and helpful, and the hours we spend wandering the mansion were a fantastic way to spend a rainy afternoon. I would even return when we're next in the area because I know there's probably much that we missed.

They did some special things for us at this hotel that we have never had done for us before! We were amazed at the way they went above and beyond for us! However I was refused the $50/10,000 point credit for a 3night stay, even though my stay was 3 nights. Fun side activity: I also had several deposits held on my card - one for each night - and had to check in & out every day. Our room had loud, pounding music all day & night - we thought it was a neighbor; turns out we were above the pool. I was told how sorry they were, and that was it. We had to try to work & take meetings with a constant, loud bass in the background, as well as try to sleep through it.
