This is a solid 3 star hotel! They were really busy 5/9-5/11 due to Mothers Day and Graduation weekend. It's not impressive but it's good, clean, safe, and has free parking! The rooms have been renovated but the hallways look rundown or at least the 2nd floor was run down. I got a Queen bed and shared it and I'm not sure if it was a true Queen bed. It seemed like a Double bed but we slept fine. I could hear some noise from other rooms but it didn't bother me. The breakfast was meh average. They had French toast, sausage, powdered eggs, cereals, oatmeal, and etc. The OJ was good surprisingly. I liked its close proximity to Target and Kohls which is literally a 2 min walk and parallel to the hotel. I didn't like that peoples kids were tracking water from the pool with their bare feet to the elevator. They have a coin laundry which comes in handy to wash clothes! Beware of thieving housekeepers!!! Vacationed here Memorial weekend and she let a man, who claimed to be maintenance, in our room after we told the desk no housekeeping and had the "Do Not Disturb" on the door. My cards, drivers license, cash, and AirPods were stolen. We watched her let him in our room as we got off the elevator coming back from breakfast and he was coming out of our room as we were going in. General manager offered money off the bill but had no desire to resolve the situation. I will be making a complaint to corporate! read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel! If I could give a zero, that would be more appropriate an assessment of service and overall experience at the Midlothian location. Zero room service. Breakfast food was trash, save the juice and coffee. An unspoken, non-promulgated rule is you clean up after yourself, only get anything if you ask for it, and your room will be checked on only after you have checked out. "They are too busy to provide any non requested services" - straight from the front desk. This hotel is full of excuses. Stay here and you will never forget to not stay at the Hampton Inn again. Customer service is inconvenient and short of non-existent. A big fail. It used to be so much better before. Not worth the money paid. This review is for my grandpa. Just because he doesn't have Yelp, doesn't mean he still can't share is experience. So I am here to help him out. My grandparents are planning to move to Virginia in about a few months. They are coming all the way from California. I live in Charlotte, so after my grandpa got everything situated in to storage, he came to stay with me. Since he was in Richmond for a few days, he had to stay somewhere. The odds were against him because there was a soccer tournament in the area. So naturally, hotels were booking rooms left and right. My grandpa called this location and they had a room for him. He is a vet, and this place gave him a wonderful military discount. He said they treated him like a king. Which is a blessing to hear because sometimes older people aren't treated right. They had to relocate him into a different room every night since they weren't sure if they were going to still have room. He didn't mind that. He just wanted a place to sleep after moving boxes out of a moving truck and into storage. They offered breakfast and he loved that. He was able to get yogurt, eggs, sausage, toast and coffee. They supplied water. He enjoyed breakfast each time during his 3 night visit. He said all 3 rooms were extremely neat, no issues at all. He said if he could give 10 stars, he would! Thank you for going above and beyond to help my grandpa. That says a lot about this company and what they represent. You guys made his stressful moving trip a lot less stressful. Super unimpressed. The room smelled terribly moldy and musty, it was just gross. There also wasn't any wifi in our room. You could get it in the hall, but not in the room. The tv was old and had no apps. We had to actually watch live tv with commercials! And there was no information about what you were watching so that was fun too. Breakfast was ok I guess. The coffee was pretty bad but drinkable if necessary. This is the second Hampton Inn we stayed at this week and this was definitely the worst and of course the one we stayed the longest at. We leave this property tomorrow and will stay at another one tomorrow night, hoping it's better than this one!! read more

Well I must say I am rating this hotel 4 stars because of it's location, but it's worthy of three stars. Nevertheless, there aren't any half stars...so 4 stars it is. I decided on this hotel because it was only 20 mins away from the Redskins Training Camp facility, which this was our main reason for visiting the area. This hotel also accepted HHonors rewards points, so that was another deciding factor. We checked in about 4pm or maybe a little later and there were no issues or concerns. Now two people ahead of me must of had some issues because the gentleman didn't seem too happy. He even asked to speak to the manager and the manager wasn't available - not good. But the lady directly in front of me, checked in with no concerns - five minutes or less and she was well on her way. Now it's my turn...soooooooooo the clerk answers the phone and I'm waiting for about three minutes for her phone call to end. She didn't thank me for waiting, but began the check in process. It took about five minutes or less as well - after the phone call. While she did greet me, she didn't mention anything about me being a HHonors member, and perhaps this is because the membership is not in my name. Ok so no biggie...but still...the clerk was plain and simple. I don't even remember her even smiling - maybe because she was overworked, I don't know, but clearly nothing special here. Again she greeted me, gave me the room keys and explained the hours for breakfast and that was it. Nothing over the top or memorable about this check in experience. Oh well... The hotel lobby was cool. TV present, tables, chairs, couches, coffee, tea, water and clearly the reception area was present (breakfast time). The temperature inside was chilly, but it was every bit of 90+ degrees outside so this was welcoming. However, as soon as we stepped foot on the elevator, super stuffy and stale smelling - OMG...I was so hoping this wasn't a reflection of the hotel room. The hotel has three floors I believe... we arrived to the 2nd floor...walked in and the room smelled stale as well - oh no!!! Well luckily I travel with air freshener so I pumped a few puffs into the air to clear the smell and it helped...turned up the A/C...walked out the room for a few...returned and ahhhhhhhhhh - ok better!!! But this just means the hotel needs to use better products when cleaning or the carpet needs to be cleaned. I mean just because the room seems dated it shouldn't smell dated too. The bathroom was roomy...no issues here. The room included two double beds, a desk with chair, a chair with ottoman, a dresser drawer with a flat tv screen present. Also an ironing board with iron, a mini frig with freezer and in the bathroom a coffee pot, along with the ice bucket and Neutrogena products (shampoo, conditioner, lotion) and mouthwash. I believe a shower cap too. Oh a microwave too!! So yeah, the amenities in the room were perfect. The bedding was a little better than OK. I personally didn't prefer the comforter on the bed, but the bed was comfy and it included four super soft pillows on each bed. For three adults and one child (9yr old) the room was cool - we had enough space. Breakfast time - 6am - 10am. On Sunday, went to breakfast about 7am and it was super quiet. Now as the 8am hour approached it started to get super noisy and the crowd was on the rise... The breakfast options were suffice. The fitness facility - OMG...I think only two machines and some medicine balls are present. And this room really reeked - OMG!! Enough about that... The pool...wasn't busy at all. The water temperature was OK. But we didn't stay in long. There were no towels present. And we came here about 8:30 pm on Saturday. A few concerns other than those mentioned above; the ottoman in the room, one leg was broken and there was a wet spot on the ottoman as well. Overall, I wouldn't count this hotel out, but it can definitely use some sprucing in the very near future. Now the location is all good!!! It's in walking distance from everything!! Everything as in: Target, Martins, WaWa, a shopping mall, restaurants, attractions for the children etc. You really hit the mark by staying here and saving on gas without having to drive super far for food or adventure. While this may not be a first choice, I'd recommend you stay here. Free parking too!! Free Wi-Fi!! Have fun - enjoy! read more

Stayed here on a Friday night after a work event in Richmond that day before driving home. Check-In was great. Quick, easy, and very very friendly. I believe my room was upgraded to a suite, or at least a larger room, which I certainly appreciated. Per my preferences listed in my Hilton account, I was on a high floor and away from the elevator. The room and bathroom were really spacious. The downside: everything felt old. The furniture, the carpet, the kitchenette, the bathroom fixtures. Not ancient, just not from the past 8-10 years. I don't need the newest and the best, it just surprised me to see that this property's rooms hadn't been renovated in a while. The lobby and the dining area seemed more up to date. The breakfast was the usual Hampton breakfast. Overall, it seems like the reviews are consistent: great service but a property that doesn't necessarily live up. read more

I would like to give this place a better rating but I cannot. We said there three days over the holiday and after the first day we noticed they did not clean our room or leave towels. I called the front desk and was told they ran out of towels. It seems we were just out of luck. Never had this happen before. I told them, to no avail, that this was not acceptable. There were no assurances that we would ever get the towels requested. What sort of hotel/motel runs out of towels? An incompetent one!!! And/or a very cheap one. Is this how Wyndom operates? Also the heating and air conditioning unit controls were completely non functional. At various times it was too warm or too cold and. We could not do anything about it. This isn't right off of 95, but is still in a pretty okay location. There were plenty of shops around and things to do if you needed. Upon arriving, I grabbed my key from the front desk and went upstairs. Thankful for Hilton Honors app check-in so that I didn't have to do anything at the counter. We arrived to our room and it was a bit stuffy. We turned on the AC and ventured out for shopping and dinner. When we arrived back, a few hours later, the room was still very hot and stuffy. I called the front desk and they advised they'd find us a new room. A few minutes later, the front desk assistant knocked on the door to let us know they have another room ready. We got up to the room and learned they had turned the AC on and it was perfectly cold. I loved it. The room was also a small suite, an upgrade from our previous room. Not necessary, but nice to have! The front desk staff in the evening and the next morning were both great! So friendly and personable. The evening cookies were delish and the breakfast was a standard Hampton breakfast. No complaints there. I would recommend this location if you are traveling though Richmond. read more

Front Desk customer service is 5 stars, but other things have me rating this at 4. I arrived a little after 5 PM and was told my room wasn't ready. This was irritating after the hellacious drive in storms, but it is what it is. Xavier was great. Very apologetic and the manager on duty, Lakeisha was just as wonderful. Went to dinner with friends and came back about 2 hours later and the room still wasn't ready. Again, Xavier and Lakeisha were outstanding. Trying to figure out ways to make it right. Luckily I'm easy to please with some drinks and snacks. I mean really, it's not their fault that housekeeping wasn't doing their job. Get to my room and kick off my flip flops. Was quickly reminded why I don't walk barefoot. The carpet by the AC was soaked. Back to the front desk where they quickly got me into another room. Sadly the stale smell everyone has spoke of was in the room. On top of an old cigarette smell. There was some hair in the shower and looked like dried urine on the toilet seat. I had my own cleaner and just handled it. I was too tired to care. Plus Xavier and Lakisha were already so amazing, I just couldn't add one more thing to them. The fitted sheet kept popping off and a co-worker mentioned the same in their room. The pillows were a tad bit too soft. Would have been nice to have 2 firm and 2 soft pillow options like other hotels provide. Would I stay here again? Yes and the only reason is Xavier and Lakeisha. Their customer service was on point. They genuinely seem to care about the guests and that speaks volumes. However, I would suggest that housekeeping get it together. Take pride in your work. I normally tip housekeepers during my stay's, but I just couldn't do it. When I finally made it upstairs the housekeeper didn't even apologize. Just looked at me like she was bothered. At other hotels, housekeeping always says hello, asks if there's anything I need etc. As a Hilton Honors Member, I have expectations of staff. Xavier and Lakeisha far exceeded what I expect and housekeeping was a big let down. Thank you Xavier and Lakeisha for everything!! You guys are awesome!!! read more

The hotel itself was fine but we were extremely upset by the lack of enforcement of mask use. There were several people in the lobby and using the elevator not wearing masks and when I mentioned it to the gentleman at the front desk, his answer was that he thought it would be rude to interrupt his transactions with a customer to tell others to wear a mask. This is a matter of safety. There are signs everywhere that say "no mask, no service", but clearly they don't mean it. My husband wants to leave the hotel. Now our anxiety is through the roof. My husband mentioned to people out in front of the hotel that they should be wearing masks to enter the lobby and their answer was that no one said anything to them, so they weren't going to do it. If they don't enforce the mask use, how can we be sure they clean the rooms like they say they do?? read more

Stayed 2 nights. The hotel lobby, room, towels, and sheets were very clean for which I was grateful. They are doing all they can to keep the guests safe from Covid. However, there are some things I found to be wanting. The pillows are unsatisfactory so bring your own. If you have bad knees you will have trouble getting off the very low porcelain throne. There are no USB outlets so be sure to bring a cube to plug in. That being said, at the low price of $75/night, we got our moneys worth. read more

My husband and young son enjoyed our two-night stay at the Hampton Midlothian. Our room was comfortable, updated, clean and equipped with a nice fridge and microwave. The staff was friendly and accommodating, with a manager making extra cookies one afternoon for a number of the little guests he had noticed. The biggest hiccup of our trip was noticing, upon our arrival, that the indoor pool was "closed for maintenance" given this was one of our requirements when selecting a hotel. While I would have preferred to not have to deal with this at all, the management did the best they could and provided us with a contact at the very nearby Doubletree where we were able to swim. read more

This Hampton Inn has recently done some updating like the floors and the main lobby area. The staff is friendly but the rooms are extremely outdated. The air units are either on or off. There is now automatic function. Also there were no USB outlets in the room. Infrequently travel and the less pieces I have to bring with me the better. Because of this, I had to keep my laptop on all night to accommodate charging my cell phones. read more

It would be five stars had the Nightmare today not happened. I had surgery and was staying here to recoup. While still recovering from anesthesia and under the influence of pain pills, the fire alarm went off. Having to jump out of bed and throw I. Clothes, we head out the door and down the hall just to be told it was a test. Had the hotel had respect for its guests, it would seem that they would have given prior warning that this was going to happen. That way I could have been prepared versus nearly ripping out stitches trying to jump in clothes. Other than this room is very clean and those met upon check in were very nice. read more

Soft beds! Loud flushing toilets. Nice selection at breakfast and it is open until 10am. Plenty of hot beverages to choose, as well as the syrups and such. Right off the main strip so shopping is close by. This is a great Hampton Inn if you happen to be in the area. read more

When I received my credit card bill, I had been charged for the rooms. Sent an email to the manager who promised a refund. 6weeks later, no refund and the manager does not accept calls or respond to email. Worst stay I've ever experienced. Booked 2 joining rooms. Key card didn't work in first room. One tv screen wouldn't work although you could hear the audio. Second tv remote didn't work. Toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor and my 8 year old got trapped in the bathroom for 30 minutes due to a faulty door handle. We had to wait for a maintenance tech to show up to break down the door. Very disappointed. The staff was friendly and offered as much help as they could but the facilities are not being managed properly. read more
