My stay her was short and sweet. The man at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. I love that parking here is free and located in the heart of Goleta. They serve breakfast which is always nice at a Hampton Inn. They have snacks for purchase and if you forget travel items they have them at the front desk. The room was clean and I have no complaints. They have a microwave and refrigerator in the room.

Been to Goleta Hampton Inn many times. It's the most affordable hotel in the SB County. The front desk is super helpful (I think his name was Kevin). The entire staff from morning breakfast to hospitality is super helpful. The rooms are clean, quiet and love the free breakfast. Free parking and access to pool. Many restaurants are walking distance. I'm very satisfied as a customer. Thank you Hampton Inn

Outstanding Service That Turned a Minor Hiccup into a Memorable Stay…read moreMy family and I had a wonderful weekend at the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Goleta. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We had requested an upgrade, but it wasn't quite ready when we checked in after a long three-hour drive. I was quite tired and eager to settle in, but the team handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. Molly at the front desk, along with a helpful gentleman (who I believe may have been a manager and who was wearing glasses that Saturday), personally took ownership of the situation. They worked quickly to make things right and did everything possible to accommodate us and get us into our room as soon as they could. Their kindness and attention to detail truly turned what could have been a frustrating moment into a non-issue. Molly stood out in particular. She remembered us the next morning and made a point to check in and see how our stay was going. That personal touch meant a lot. Both Molly and the gentleman on Saturday displayed excellent service, patience, and a real commitment to making guests feel valued. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We truly appreciated the professionalism and warm hospitality shown by the entire team. We would gladly return to this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Santa Barbara area. Thank you, Molly, and the whole team at Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Goleta ,you made our weekend special!!

We had to suddenly shorten our stay and leave early. This hotel refused to understand the situation and billed us for an extra night even though we left before official checkout time. Assistant GM straight up told me that our Ambassador status means nothing at this property. If your plans have any chance of changing, stay away from this place. Never again. The second star is given only for the location. I have to remain positive, unlike these guys, right?

However, I haven't had time yet to inform the hotel that my son had some red bites on the parts of his body that were not covered by his short sleeved, short bottom pajamas They were not mosquito bites; weather was cold, so he was 100% covered with a jacket during the day. I don't know if it was fleas or bed bugs or maybe neither. I hadn't looked for bugs. By the time I noticed, we had already checked out of the hotel. We were in Room 117, if staff wants to check. Never had a problem before with Best Westerns so hopefully this was just a one-time situation. The heater/air conditioner in this room during our stay in February does not have the best sensor. It hears the room well, but as soon as it reaches the threshold, i.e. 72 degrees, it immediately switches to blowing cold air. We alternating constantly between being cold then hot then cold, etc. The heating unit A/C is near the bed, so it is not too comfortable to sleep on tbe side of the bed closest to the AC. Regarding the breakfast, there was only one type of fruit available every day of our stay (oranges), and every day was the exact same breakfast (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage) though the menu says that they alternate between sausage and bacon. They could benefit from additional seating on rainy-weather days. I had to take food back to my room since there wasn't always enough seating in the dining area. The automatic doors open frequently during breakfast time; this created a cold draft. Sand bags were being used to help keep rain water from entering. We look for places with access to laundry rooms. The machines only accept coins; this is a bit outdated to require coins. Staff has quarters in exchange for cash. But, what if the hotel runs out of quarters? Not sure if they can open the machine to get quarters or if there are no quarters, maybe customers would be out of luck. Laundry room closed by 10 pm. Opened at 7:00 am. I wish I had known this info regarding laundry hours when making my reservation. The info is provided on a card once you arrive. Changing of towels and making of beds is by request only. They informed me on a piece of paper, which I had not read. Other places automatically change towels and make beds without customers needing to ask. Staff was cheerful and helpful to provide fresh towels upon request at the front desk. Pool area looked nice, but we didn't use it due to rainy weather.

I can choose to pay more for a Ritz or less for a Courtyard, but the rooms are always clean and amenities on brand. I have stayed at a few "rough" Marriott properties over the years. This is one of them. PROS: The grounds are beautiful, the gym is awesome, the location is great if you are visiting UCSB (which we were.) The staff was friendly and helpful (when they were available.) CONS: The rooms and linens are in need of updating. My sheets were stained and the shower pan in our room was gross. While the staff they have were helpful, they are understaffed. Maid service never showed up to clean our room, and we once waited so long in the restaurant that we just left. VALUE: Santa Barbara is not cheap. But this hotel is priced too high for what you get. Especially since this hotel is not in Santa Barbara. VERDICT: Would I say again, yes, but only if I were visiting UCSB. Note to management: Invest in new linens and remodel your bathrooms. From the photos, you can't tell the hotel has what most would call a landlord special; paint slapped over beat up walls, zero actual maintenance, and updates that make it seem as if the room is meets the price point. Don't be fooled like I was. Our tub didn't drain, the paint was bubbling off the bathroom walls, the sliding screen door outside was a huge challenge to work, but overall the biggest qualm I have is that the air conditioning doesn't work. There is also nothing they can do about it, as it's a known issue. The windows don't have screens, so you can't open a window, and you're left tossing and turning all night in the scratchy linens. This hotel needs far more than a coat of paint. Oh, and they charge $32 per night for parking for some ridiculous reason. I do not recommend staying here. We were eventually able to pinpoint the source of the odor to the pillows and thought that changing rooms might solve the problem. To their credit, the front desk accommodated our request and moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the replacement room had the same issue. While the pillowcases appeared clean, the pillows themselves had a strong unpleasant odor, as though they had not been thoroughly cleaned or replaced in a very long time. Since we experienced the same problem in two different rooms, we began to suspect this was a more widespread issue throughout the hotel. The bathroom also showed signs of poor maintenance, including significant mineral buildup and corrosion on the shower head, as well as visible dark discoloration around the escutcheon. When I politely requested fresh pillows, the manager (I believe his name was Nate) responded, "I'm not going to let you cherry pick pillows," which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. We were simply trying to find a solution to the unsanitary condition of the bedding, but he seemed irritated by our request. He eventually sent an employee to replace the pillows, but warned us they would probably smell as well because they were all "in circulation." Unfortunately, he was right--several of the replacement pillows also had the same unpleasant odor. I added one extra star because my family genuinely enjoyed the pool, and the front desk staff did their best to help. They offered to have maintenance spray the room and explained that housekeeping had already left for the day, leaving them with limited options. However, spraying the room did not address the underlying issue, and it was difficult to feel comfortable sleeping in the room. The property itself has a beautiful courtyard with ponds and a large pool, so it has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the cleanliness issues, unpleasant odors, and the manager's lack of professionalism significantly impacted our stay. We were fortunate that we had only booked one night; otherwise, we would have found another hotel for the remainder of our trip. Sadly, we would not choose to stay here again.
