We had an amazing stay at the Quality Inn in Buellton, California, just minutes from Solvang! The rooms were spotless, spacious enough for our family of four, and very comfortable. One of the best surprises was the complimentary continental breakfast, which offered much more than we expected. Always a great stay. Rooms are comfy clean and modern. When other hotel chains are giving excuses why they don't offer daily housekeeping, I was quite surprised that this hotel does. My mother and I stayed for one night while visiting Solvang. The room looked fine but once I turned off the AC unit the next morning I noticed all the mold growing on the exterior wall where the window is located. When we checked out, I mentioned to the lady at the front desk that they should never rent out room 503 because all the mold on the walls. I also showed her the picture and video. She quickly responded that she will have maintenance look at it. I wasn't happy that I was breathing in that toxic mold all night and I really hope they don't just rent the room again in that condition. I won't be staying here again. read more

I had a great 3 night stay here last month. The location gives you easy access to Solvang and surrounding attractions. Daniel the manager takes pride in offering more than you would expect from a similar property. There were baked goods and impressive refreshment area at check in. There were plenty of friendly staff who keep the parking area, hotel, and rooms clean and maintained. Breakfast was good. There are rocking chairs outside the lobby entrance to relax. Sara was always helpful when calling the hotel and on the front desk. She even arranged to have my sports watch mailed to me after I'd left it behind. We reserved 2 rooms for one night, when we got there to check in, the person behind the counter was being very impolite and said that they overbooked and had to send one of our groups to the King Fredrick Inn (the rooms at King Frederik are better) my mom argued with the man behind the counter for like 20 minutes. Be careful booking here. Everything was fine until 4:00 in the morning. We kept hearing someone walking all over the place from the room above. Ok thats fine, maybe they went to the restroom or something so we waited. Well the footsteps never stopped til 9:00 in the morning. Come to find out the restaurant or breakfast lounge was right above us. Ok great! I wish they would've gave us a fair warning so we can work with this room but we were left half asleep with paper thin flooring and the sound of violent footsteps all through the night and morning. The Quality Inn - Buellton was an easy location to get to and a direct drive to Solvang. When we arrived the staff was pleasant and offered a room on the ground floor, which we took, he asked if we minded a little noise, I said that is not a problem. I did not realize that Hwy 101 ran right by our room and we heard cars all night long (no double pane windows). The breakfast was nice to have in the mornings..Friday am breakfast offered more than it did on Saturday..a bit disappointed. The coffee was mediocre..no dark roast. The staff were nice and friendly. The room was clean. I would consider staying there again but on a different floor. I was a bit shocked that the rate for Thursday was $92.00 and on Friday it was over $200.00..quite a difference in pricing. read more

I gave the Quality Inn Buellton 4 stars - although I would have liked to give them 3.5. Pros: the bed was extremely comfortable, with very nice linens. Carpet seemed clean. Breakfast was great - the usual waffle maker, scrambled eggs (obviously made from powder, but still ok), bacon, sausage, yogurt, fruit, juices, biscuits and gravy, cold cereal and more. The only complaint I had was the tea bags were all caffeinated. The room was clean and spacious; with a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave oven. Cons: traffic noise even on the non-freeway side. It wasn't bad between 11pm and 5am, even with the window open, but at 5am the truck traffic started. There is also a large gas station right across the street, and semi trucks park in front of the inn at night. This was a non-smoking room - however, people obviously smoke in the enclosed hallway and the odor of smoke remains. There were a few issues in the room - grout around the tub was missing and small amounts of mold were beginning to appear. The AC unit was very loud and it smelled like the filter needed to be replaced. Noise from the neighbors was only when the shower was being used. The hotel staff were mostly wonderful - except at check-in late afternoon. The male clerk seemed flustered, commented that there were no guarantees for early check-in, even though we had gotten approval when we booked. He ended up making 3 phone calls before we were able to check in - and did not give me any information while I was waiting, and did not apologize fore the wait which I would have expected. When I called to ask where the nearest ice machine was, he said all the way down in the lobby - but I found that there was one on the next floor down which was much more convenient. Not sure why he didn't direct me to a closer one. All in all, I would stay here again - but would probably request a different room - when booked, the site stated there was a mountain view. The view is of the parking lot, street, gas station and some other businesses and homes. No mountains there! But it is on the main street of Buellton within walking distance of businesses and restaurants. read more

This is a horrible hotel. Everything here is old. The carpets are dirty, the decor needs to be replaced, due to it looking like the 1970's, curtains dirty and dusty, the bathroom is horrible. You have to close the door to the bathroom due to having to reach for the toilet paper, if you don't choose the door, you're hitting your knees. There is an old fashion air conditioning unit in the windows, it has a dusty smell in the hotel. They placed me in a room that feels like a basement. You look out the window and all you see is a receding wall and dirt. The bed sheets and comforters look dirty. They charged close to $700.00. For 2 days, not even worth $100.00 a night. read more

I did say Ostrich Land. A must in Solvang), 30-to 45 minutes to Avila Beach, Pismo Beach, and Santa Barbara. Plus being member of the Choice Hotels- rewards and points. *We arrived there before the check in hour of 4pm. I made a note while making the reservation-may arrive early and it possible if room is available, we can check in upon arrival. It never hurts to note that when making the reservation, there is no guarantee that a room will be available. *The entrance to the hotel is very cute. Rocking chairs and a bench. I would have loved to take advantage of those rocking chairs with a cup of coffee. YES! Coffee available any time. Plenty of parking spaces and good size parking lot. *I am not sure how the floor is set up. We were on the 3rd floor, but it is on the main floor (Front Desk/Lobby). Our room was very nice (please note I took the pictures as we were ready to check out). Very thoroughly cleaned, no odor. No odor as well with the blankets and comforters. The room does face the main road and entrance to the freeway, you can hear the noise level if you open the window. I love our room. Two bedroom/queens. Not all rooms I think comes with microwave, so be sure to check when making the room reservation. *Breakfast is from 7am-10pm. It fueled us to start the morning until lunch time. Very small breakfast room and kind enough to tell me, OK to bring a plate or two in our room. Even though most hotels are OK with that, it was still nice to know verbally and confirmed by the Front Desk Staff. *Speaking of Front Desk Staff- very professional, courteous, service with a smile. I forgot the name of the Front Desk lady when we got there at around 2:30ish pm but she was awesome. Very friendly, answered my questions, she checked me in fast, had a room available for us even though it was not official check in time of 4pm. In the morning during the shift changes, all of them said Good Morning to everyone walking and passing by the Front Desk. *Overall GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! We decided to stay here for the evening on our way up the Central Coast. The hotel is very welcoming of pets and their owners. There is a pet relief station on the property, and plenty of places to walk around. A warm breakfast was a nice, welcome treat! Since the hotel is right near the freeway, there will be some traffic noise. There is also construction ongoing off the main street (Avenue of the Flags), so there is some construction noise starting in the morning. read more

Good low mid range hotel on the central coast of CA. Stayed here one night for a quick trip. Zip lining in Buellton on Friday, spent Friday night here and rock climbing in Santa Barbara on my way home on Saturday. The room was clean and maintained, the location is convenient, plenty of space to not feel cramped, bed was comfortable, complimentary breakfast in the morning, along with friendly and cheerful staff. Close to Solvang and the 101, with restaurants and the Firestone walker brew pub just a block or so away. The next time I need a room in the area I'll be back to the quality inn, Buellton. read more

This hotel is a gem especially when it is so close to the main town & almost half-priced to those in the town. Check-in was fast and the room was a lot better than we expected it to be for the price we paid. It is located in a quiet neighborhood & it just takes 10 mins to be in Solvang downtown from here. They do have good enough parking spaces to accommodate your car. The staff was nice and all basic amenities are included in the room. Breakfast has some good hot food variety too. 6/3/20 Stayed one night here, and was given the 5th floor, room 516. The room was clean, no bed bugs, and all necessary amenities were provided. I didn't like the fact that my paperwork was hidden under a couch cushion for me to get to my room, along with others. If I hadn't called to check on my reservation, how would I even have known to look under a cushion for my room key and paperwork? This could go a bad route if the key got into the hands of someone else. I get it that there's no 24 hour service for checking in, but leaving it outside for anyone to find, is not the way to go. It infuriates me that this hotel things it's ok to do things like this. Why not have a person on stand by, that lives close to deliver the keys if you don't want to extend your hours? This is not a safe way to do things. Other than that, I enjoyed my nights rest here. read more

You can't help but touch all over the bottoms of the forks and spoons when you pick one out. So unsanitary and not kind to this post-pandemic crowd. A modest little hotel. Rooms were clean, all appliances worked, and the receptionist was helpful. And free cookies! The breakfast area is cramped but the food was always being replenished and attended to. One star off for the mediocre food (I've had better breakfasts at a Super8) and one of our rooms didn't have an alarm clock. I know nobody uses those anymore but it has a charging port that was sorely needed at the time. At least the receptionist made an honest effort to try and find one. If you're looking for a budget hotel on the way to Solvang, this is a nice little spot. Decent given the price. read more

While deciding where to stay in Santa Ynez Valley to celebrate my birthday of wine tasting, my husband and I decided to pick Quality Inn because they are dog friendly (yes we traveled with our little girl dog), provide free parking, offer free WiFi and also have a complimentary hot breakfast (especially with meat, which included bacon and sausage). The price was also cheaper than other hotels that offered the same amenities. Check in is at 4:00 PM and check out is at 11:00 AM. For pets, it cost only $25 per stay with a maximum of 2 pets, total of 100 lb weight limit. Breakfast is from 5-10 AM Monday through Friday and 7-10 AM Saturday- Sunday. Free cookies are available after 4 pm and there is a washer and dryer on site if you need to do your laundry. I also appreciated the iced water, hot water and coffee available at the lobby and apples if you wish to grab some fruit. The room we had did seem a bit small and wished there was more space to place my things on (I don't like having my things on the floor where I can most likely trip on them in the middle of the night if I have to get up to use the restroom). Our room had a microwave and mini fridge. There was also an ironing board with iron in the room. Our room was facing the highway, which was loud at night at times. If you are a light sleeper, consider requesting a room away from this side of the hotel. If you do travel with your pet, I do want to mention that there is plenty of grass for your 4 legged friend to relieve themselves and there is also a poop bag dispenser in case you run out of bags. Overall, we had a pretty pleasant stay. This was our first time staying at this chain hotel and thought it was a great experience and would stay at another Quality Inn again in the future. read more

Really good for the price. This is your typical budget hotel. Rooms are nothing fancy. Hot breakfast is exactly what you would expect with sausage, egg, waffles, toast, yogurt, and apples. Stayed here while visiting Solvang for Christmasy celebration fun. The town of Buellton is sooo close to Solvang that staying here was excellent, convenient, and saved me a ton of money!! To stay in Solvang is sooooo freaking expensive and everything closes early! There are more places to eat closer to here and much more affordable also. For about $150 after taxes and all, it was much less than the way over $200 prices of Solvang for a Saturday night. Also, they have free breakfast in the morning, so more money saved!! Checking in was easy. I arrived after 6pm, which, so you know, they charge your card automatically if you check in after 6pm. I know, because my original card that I had used to reserve was stolen and used, so I had to deactivate it literally 2 days before my trip and so the hotel called me saying they had trouble charging my card lol. They guy did ask for a card over the phone, but I told him I was driving and on my way there and that I can give it to him when I checked in in person. When I arrived, the guy already had my room ready and papers ready and thank goodness they have digital cards you can access, so I was able to give him the info in person. The room was clean and more than spacious enough for my dog and me. I love that I was on the first floor and close to the ice machine. Plenty of free parking available. This holiday weekend seemed packed because the parking lot was pretty full. They welcome pets! Another plus because I travel alot with my dog and I can't stay at any places that do not welcome him. The room was clean. The bed was comfy. It was quiet and even on the first floor, we did not hear noise from upstairs. The breakfast was not the greatest, but there was plenty to eat and saved us some money! They had a waffle station, scrambled eggs (too mushy), bacon, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, cereal, oatmeal, coffee. I always take food to my room to have breakfast with my dog as he really loves getting eggs. All they had were glass plates. I wish they had some paper plates for people who take their food to-go and I saw quite a few people taking food back to their rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I was visiting the area. Nice hotel in Buellton area near lots of activites and ease of access to and from the 101 freeway or highway 246 to Solvang or Lompoc. Hotel has a good on-site breakfast, and is very accomodating to pets. Nice area around the property to walk your dog, and many local restaurants that offer patio and food delivery service. Hotel staff is very nice and all of the work hard to offer great service. Hotel is quiet day and night. Hats off to Sara at the front desk for letting us change our room to an upper floor the second day and calling when it was ready. Would stay here again when in the area. Horrible customer service. As we walked to the front desk - we said we have a reservation and Front desk person said I don't have any rooms available right now. RUDELY ( happens to be a manager) It seemed like when we walked in to check in we must have interrupted them because a bunch of staff members were sitting in the breakfast area chatting and eating. Place looks very unclean, filthy and BAD. Room has a very bad odor like rotten eggs. You can smell the smoking odor everywhere as well. Hotel is next a road/ freeway so you can hear the vehicle's sound clearly. EXTREMELY poor WiFi connection. Don't count on doing any business work from here. DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. read more

This place is great! We stayed here on a whim, and weren't sure what to expect, but had an excellent stay. The front desk staff members were friendly and accommodating. The room smelled nice, and the beds were comfortable. The front porch has relaxing rocking chairs, which my kids loved. They served eggs, waffles, potatoes, bacon, and pastries at breakfast. The only drawback is that the walls are a little thin, but this did not affect our sleeping experience. Overall, our stay here was pleasant, and I highly recommend it, especially for families. read more

Horrible stay ! At check in, the gentleman was not welcoming . He handed me the room key cards and did not explain to me where the room was located or where we can park. Did not explain anything to me. Around 10pm we heard loud thumps coming from the ceiling . Sounded like those upstairs where jumping from one place to another . My husband went to the front desk and was told that other people had complained and he would go upstairs to check. 10:30pm the thumping gets louder. Husband went to the front desk again to complain to be told that there is nothing they can do . The family upstairs has told the front desk gentleman that they aren't doing anything that their small children are just walking. Well the thumping continued until 12am. I called the front desk to yet again complain to be told there isn't anything they can do. Basically we had to deal with this family's inconsideration. My husband had a 5am conference call and was unable to get a good rest due to the family upstairs. Horrible customer service ! read more

This hotel is brand new. The front desk person was polite and welcoming. The room was clean and in great condition with a microwave, coffee maker and mini fridge (however there was a small brown stain on the bed sheet) I minused a star because I did not like to have to walk up steps to enter the hotel. Finding a decent but not too pricey place to crash on a Saturday night in Buellton is a tough nut to crack. That was my predicament once I decided I'd be attending the Buellton Brewfest. There was no way I was attempting to drive anywhere after 5 full hours of open beer tasting. After a fairly extensive search, the Quality Inn Santa Ynez Valley looked to be the best option in terms of amenities, price, & location. I booked a room for 1 night, arrived before check-in the morning of Buellton Brewfest, & got the OK to park my car in the parking lot. River View Park, where Buellton Brewfest was taking place, is 1.3 miles away. I considered that just within stumbling drunk walking distance, so it was all good. 5 hours later, I stumbled back here, no problem, & checked into my room. My room was on the main floor in the main building down the hall from the front desk. The room was small-ish & perhaps felt even smaller because of the king-sized bed crammed into it. Which was fine. Sleeping was what I did most in the room & the comfy king bed was great for that. The room, bathroom, shower, linens were all clean & orderly. In the room, an acceptably large flat-panel TV, free Wi-Fi, mini-fridge, & highly effective a/c were all used & appreciated. My room was situated such that I could hear traffic on 101 outside my window, though it wasn't loud enough to keep me up. What did wake me up & kept me up for a short while was a loud late night conversation at the front desk I could hear through my door. It didn't last long & was the only hiccup of my stay. In the morning, on the way out, I grabbed some complimentary breakfast which was OK but nothing special. For a last minute place to stay in Buellton that was reasonably nice & not overly $$$ (& most importantly for me, a place stumbling drunk distance from Buellton Brewfest), the Quality Inn Santa Ynez Valley worked out well for the most part. read more

WOW! Such a great value for the price. The double room I stayed in was nicely updated, clean, and felt basically brand new. The room had a mini kitchen in it, including microwave and fridge, which was super handy during my stay. The wifi was great, so much so that it allowed me to play multiplayer video games in the room. The shower had nice water pressure and was refreshing. And finally, the included breakfast was delicious! Lots to choose from with waffle machines, pancake machines, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, bread products, several beverage options, and dry breakfast goods. All around I was very impressed with the value I got staying here. With a convenient location to attractions in the Santa Ynez valley, this place really can't be beat. read more
