Clean towels - I checked in covered with black hairs! No sense in saying anything...

I was informed that "I cannot be loitering" literally as we were discussing which room I was booking in the office. I really felt like I should take my money and go anywhere up or down the street! I'm starting to think people under the age of 45-50 years old are not capable of comprehending customer service anymore. I was also told it would be 300$ tomorrow because weekend and holiday next day(they really take advantage if they feel they have a higher volume of potential "guests" it was empty and relatively cheap- maybe everyone decided to stay somewhere else? Nobody left a light on for me last three stays... It's mainly busy because we have so many construction contracts that are given to out of town companies and our local population is all becoming homeless at once...

Room #132... street facing, the traffic is a soothing white noise.  LOL. it was actually not too bad.

Well, it didn't exceed the Motel 6 reputation, which is to say it was OKAY. On a recent trip to Santa Barbara for UCSB parents weekend, we booked a little late and found Motel 6 to be one of our few options. Customer Service: The only real encounter we had with their staff was via phone, when I said we would not need anyone to clean our room between Friday and Saturday. I was informed they have no housekeeping, LOL. The room had two queen beds which was fine for our group of 3, a bathroom with a weird set-up and some space to walk around. The room was not that small, we were fine with the space in #132. Overall the place was clean; they had a flat screen tv so that was a plus. Location: I need to give them props for this. They are conveniently located next to many restaurants and super markets. You forgot your toothbrush? No problem, Walgreens is right across the street. Alcohol? You got Albertson's right next door and Trader Joe's. There are also many restaurants and a bowling alley within walking distance. Motel 6 does play with their prices depending on what is happening on said weekend, I felt $200/night was high all things considered.

It's clean. Very small for two double beds. Bathroom awkwardly shaped, toilet off center. $250/night Fri & Sat. Cheapest price in town when we booked.

    Bedbug

During my last stay 7-27-24, there were bedbugs in the room, they're for sure in at least one of the beds. Woke up at around 5am to them, talked with two front end employees and they were helpful in who to contact. However, reaching higher management hasn't been successful. Otherwise, pretty regular Motel 6 stay.

Cmon guys. During a global pandemic extra steps should be taken to make sure a room is CLEAN! I emailed corporate already but I'll just attach the photos here. Long story short we have 4 nights reserved, we checked out obviously and are moving to another hotel. Seeing that gunk and hair on the table just tells me NO ONE DISINFECTED THE COUNTERS.

Unfortunately for the price and the space too expensive not accommodating Stained quilted comforters rooms are very small bathroom and Rooms are divided by folding panel doors the guy next-door has his window open so I can hear him snoring so it's not a quite place... No AAA discount only military and 65+ Plus I give it 2 star rating... Horrible , bad experience.. I spoke with a worker at the front desk regarding the stains on the blankets and he said I needed to talk to corporate... His response was " All I do is work here" and "he can't do anything about it" ... So considering the price I paid for the short stay with my it being only my child and I... very disgusting and unpleasant compared to other hotels This has been one of my worst experiences at motel six

We booked that afternoon to check in after 9 pm that night for a UCSB tour at 9 the following morning. Since we were just looking for hot showers and clean beds we thought we would try the infamous Motel 6. Very cramped and Spartan for about $100 on a Thursday night. No shampoo, hair dryer or Kleenex. The shower had a decent spray and enough hot water so that was probably the best feature of Motel 6. Towels were tiny and thin, smelling strongly of bleach, so I assume they were clean. The mattress was not very comfortable. A little lumpy. Hard to sleep because of motorcycle noise from the road. Definitely not my first choice

The staff are always incredibly warm and welcoming. I'd especially like to give a shout-out to Tommy, who has gone above and beyond to help us on multiple occasions! The complimentary breakfast buffet is excellent, with a great variety: freshly baked bread and bagels, egg and ham sandwiches, bacon, eggs, plenty of fresh fruit, and yogurt. The kitchen team is very kind and often accommodates guests who arrive a little late before closing. We've also requested gluten-free items several times, and they've always provided delicious GF bread or muffins. The rooms are consistently new, clean, and surprisingly spacious -- they often feel nearly twice the size of comparable hotel rooms. The kitchenette has everything we need to prepare simple meals, and we've even celebrated birthdays "on the road" here. We love the amenities as well. The gym is convenient, and the courtyard area is a highlight with its ping-pong table, putting green, pool, and spa. The location is fantastic: very convenient to everything, yet always peaceful and quiet. Even though the airport is nearby, we've never been bothered by airplane noise (unlike some other places that are directly under the flight path). We will definitely keep coming back, and we highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Goleta or visiting UCSB. It truly feels like a home away from home!

Outstanding Service That Turned a Minor Hiccup into a Memorable Stay…read moreMy family and I had a wonderful weekend at the Courtyard by Marriott Santa Barbara Goleta. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We had requested an upgrade, but it wasn't quite ready when we checked in after a long three-hour drive. I was quite tired and eager to settle in, but the team handled the situation with genuine care and professionalism. Molly at the front desk, along with a helpful gentleman (who I believe may have been a manager and who was wearing glasses that Saturday), personally took ownership of the situation. They worked quickly to make things right and did everything possible to accommodate us and get us into our room as soon as they could. Their kindness and attention to detail truly turned what could have been a frustrating moment into a non-issue. Molly stood out in particular. She remembered us the next morning and made a point to check in and see how our stay was going. That personal touch meant a lot. Both Molly and the gentleman on Saturday displayed excellent service, patience, and a real commitment to making guests feel valued. The rest of the staff was equally friendly and attentive throughout our stay. We truly appreciated the professionalism and warm hospitality shown by the entire team. We would gladly return to this hotel and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Santa Barbara area. We had to suddenly shorten our stay and leave early. This hotel refused to understand the situation and billed us for an extra night even though we left before official checkout time. Assistant GM straight up told me that our Ambassador status means nothing at this property. If your plans have any chance of changing, stay away from this place. Never again. The second star is given only for the location. I have to remain positive, unlike these guys, right?

The sink was clogged, needing multiple minutes to drain. The bathroom has no vent, which is intentional, but I can't imagine why - it smelled every time someone did number 2. The hand lotion smelled nice. The blankets were not thick enough for the weather and kinda rough. But the decorations in the hallway and room were nice; some beautiful photos of the town scenery. Rooms were tidy and cleaned after one night. Free bottled water. There was some construction going on but we weren't affected by it at all. The breakfast wasn't great - we paid for complimentary breakfast, but we only got one meal ticket for two days for some reason; though they gave us the second one when we asked. They gave you huge portions at the counter, but the eggs and potatoes were tasteless; fortunately rescued by the hot sauce they had. The bacon was too dry and sausages too salty. I'm not very picky so it wasn't a big deal, but definitely not a plus. And tip wasn't included, you need to pay tip on top of the strongly advertised "complimentary breakfast." We weren't told or pressured to tip though, but I must be wondering if the staff are being paid a good wage if even the breakfast needs tip. And then to add insult to injury, when writing the tip and signing the pen ran out of ink. The gym was all right, with cables, benches, free weights, cardio machines, plenty of mirrors, towels, and water. Can't complain there. I didn't use the pool or conference room but they looked nice. Hearing about our bad experience, the clerk didn't charge us for parking (you need to put the guest placard in your car and are charged per night). Plenty of parking. Out of the 3 front desk clerks we met, two of them were nice and helpful. The other I would call bare minimum polite, Lastly, after having already driven two hours we realized a phone and charger were left at the hotel. They agreed to mail them to us at our expense, but didn't check with us all the details. We later realized the post offices were all closed and the earliest we could get the phone was in 2 days which would be after our flight already left. It's real lucky we realized and drove back to get the phone, no thanks to the staff, who would've sent it to us way too late without checking. Not a terrible experience but they could've done better.

However, I haven't had time yet to inform the hotel that my son had some red bites on the parts of his body that were not covered by his short sleeved, short bottom pajamas They were not mosquito bites; weather was cold, so he was 100% covered with a jacket during the day. I don't know if it was fleas or bed bugs or maybe neither. I hadn't looked for bugs. By the time I noticed, we had already checked out of the hotel. We were in Room 117, if staff wants to check. Never had a problem before with Best Westerns so hopefully this was just a one-time situation. The heater/air conditioner in this room during our stay in February does not have the best sensor. It hears the room well, but as soon as it reaches the threshold, i.e. 72 degrees, it immediately switches to blowing cold air. We alternating constantly between being cold then hot then cold, etc. The heating unit A/C is near the bed, so it is not too comfortable to sleep on tbe side of the bed closest to the AC. Regarding the breakfast, there was only one type of fruit available every day of our stay (oranges), and every day was the exact same breakfast (scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage) though the menu says that they alternate between sausage and bacon. They could benefit from additional seating on rainy-weather days. I had to take food back to my room since there wasn't always enough seating in the dining area. The automatic doors open frequently during breakfast time; this created a cold draft. Sand bags were being used to help keep rain water from entering. We look for places with access to laundry rooms. The machines only accept coins; this is a bit outdated to require coins. Staff has quarters in exchange for cash. But, what if the hotel runs out of quarters? Not sure if they can open the machine to get quarters or if there are no quarters, maybe customers would be out of luck. Laundry room closed by 10 pm. Opened at 7:00 am. I wish I had known this info regarding laundry hours when making my reservation. The info is provided on a card once you arrive. Changing of towels and making of beds is by request only. They informed me on a piece of paper, which I had not read. Other places automatically change towels and make beds without customers needing to ask. Staff was cheerful and helpful to provide fresh towels upon request at the front desk. Pool area looked nice, but we didn't use it due to rainy weather.
