We recently went to Santa Fe for a funeral. Having never been there before we trusted that Hampton Inn would be the right place to stay, and it probably wasn't. The carpet was really old and musty in the hallways, I didn't know anybody still used one ply toilet paper, and the AC was very hard to regulate. We can't blame them for the bad view because there really is nothing in that area to look at. The staff was very friendly and check-in went easily and the breakfast was acceptable for a free breakfast. I think if we ever needed to go back to Santa Fe, we would stay somewhere else. I will say, it was a very easy commute to their downtown Square. read more

Pool was closed in December and the notice said it's been closed since September, the one time I packed a swim suit too lol. This location charges for parking, most other Hamptons I stay at didn't. My clean socks were brown from just walking in the room so the carpets were dirty upon arrival. Showers only no bathtubs. Free breakfast was a plus and they did let me check in early but considering I've stayed at various Hampton locations this one was kinda disappointing and didn't meet expectations. Stayed here using the handicapped room. It was huge and roomy. Great for wife's wheelchair. The staff was helpful in getting our TV to work. The breakfast had lots of variety. My only complaint was that the pool was closed by the city health department . Not good. I would stay there on our return trip but the handicapped rooms were booked then. read more

Very disappointing. I stay in 2 and 3 star motel/hotels a lot. I don't expect the amenities or upscale extras. But I do expect helpful somewhat knowledgeable helpful staff and that what they do have, works. I was surprised to find the pool that they show in their website Pictures and to be open. It has not been for over two months. I asked for a top floor room and was told no. Ok go to our room and it smells like someone spilled a bottle of fabulosa in there. There was also a vent in the ceiling that whistled and poured out cool air that you cannot turn off and is not the heater/air conditioner. Called and said couldn't do this room. She gave me a room in the 4th floor. It smelled much better and the vent wasn't whistling nearly as loud. Now you have a room on the 4th floor? Went down to get a soda from their very small snack area and couldn't find anyone to pay. Waited around and finally walked away. Not very friendly, breakfast meh. As a Diamond member I frequent Hiltons often. The Santa Fe Hampton was by far the worse. Clearly, financials are an issue where other Hampton offer snack at check in, there was none, breakfast was pitiful and the kicker was when I asked for a tea bags at the front desk. The young man said " we ran out a few days ago". My reply" you know Amazon delivers" and his response " I'm not paying for anything here" Wow! Cheap, cheap, cheap expect for the $179 plus taxes for the room. read more

Worst night sleep I have ever had in a hotel. This Hotel has a ventilation system that blasts air into the rooms so loud that you feel like you are in a wind tunnel. Bring you ear plugs if you stay here. The hotel staff refuses to turn off the system for any reason. To be fair, the room is nice and the maids do a good job. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt this needed to be shared. Upon checking into the room, everything appeared fine at first glance. However, a closer look revealed a concerning lack of cleanliness. While retrieving a dropped item near the bed, I discovered an unopened condom, an empty paper cup, an old, wrinkly strawberry, a single Froot Loop, a pill, and a shocking amount of dust under the bed; clearly indicating that housekeeping hadn't cleaned thoroughly in quite some time. This is not what I expect from any hotel, regardless of price point. While the rest of the room seemed presentable, finding that kind of mess hidden under the bed raises serious questions about overall hygiene and attention to detail. I brought the issue to the attention of the front desk, and while staff were polite, the response was underwhelming. The next day I asked for the manager to call me, as I was informed that she wasn't in til later that day. I got no response. I went to Hilton directly and didn't get a response either. I hope SOMEBODY takes this as a wake-up call to improve cleaning standards. Until then, I can't recommend staying here. read more

Beautiful, welcoming hotel. I was pleased with my check in process. Usually the front desk sets the energy of the hotel. I was pleased with how the guest representatives professionalism. She spoke highly about the hotel, brand and her position. I walked into a beautiful room, the carpet was wet. I am assuming they shampooed the rug and it was drying still. stayed here July 7th 2025. The rooms are nice and clean and the gym is typical for a hotel, no complaints here. You get a basic breakfast, you know what to expect if you've ever stayed in any hotel like this one, except.... there were no plates. Breakfast is served, but you have no plates to eat your breakfast on. A few people were asking the attendants for plates and they just ran to the back room and never came back. Went to ask for plates from the front desk and spoke to Paula who introduced herself as the manager on duty. She explained that they didn't order plates and that they wouldn't be getting them till next week. I suggested that someone could go and get disposable plates from a store and she informed that they wouldn't get reimbursed. I asked if there was anything to be done and Paula the manager said "no, besides, breakfast is complimentary, unless I know how to do her job better" Seriously? That comment is the reason for this one star review. read more

I booked a room there. When we all arrived there their where no room I was asked to come back at noon. still not available. I wouldn't be able to get my money back at all. We are travelling thru why do I have to wait until 3pm just to be told we are booked up horrible way to treat guest that are coming thru and to stay at your hotel. we all had to travel thru the snow thru the town which was another 100 miles a way to find another hotel to stay at. read more

Room was clean and modern, but that was where the good ends. AC unit was problematic the entire stay but the reason I'm taking the time to review and warn others is similar to what others have posted: my vehicle was broken into and police say it happens frequently at this hotel, but that's not necessarily the hotel's problem ... the problem is that it's incredibly irresponsible for a business to have cameras but not even have them recording. Why even bother to have them if they are only "live" when clearly nobody is monitoring them and your business is clearly uninterested in helping the police identify the individuals that are victimizing your customers. Do better. And if you choose to stay at this hotel know that you should expect your vehicle to be burglarized so good luck with that. read more

I am currently watching a very sketchy character hop over the fence back and forth from the hotel's parking lot. I am on the 2nd floor and have a clear view of this individual. Seems like he's looking for cigarette butts to pick up and smoke? No clue but makes me uneasy. The first day we were here we saw a couple with thier dog on a make shift leash carrying a bunch of plastic bags while cursing loudly and looking very "meth-y" as they were crossing the parking lot. They also hopped the fence. Seems that this is a rough area or at least attracts some sketchy people. The front desk rep didn't even get up to greet us. Not a "hi...hello...how's it going " was uttered from her lips. We are diamond members and I was really annoyed at her complete lack of regard for our presence as the guests checking in. We didn't receive any of the usual stuff you get as a diamond member...no waters, snacks, etc. We were not offered an upgrade and after inquiring about moving to a larger room were told none were available which is fine but absolutely no indication was given by the staff member that they cared about our request. The location is fine but I would prefer to be in the actual city center as this surrounding neighborhood has the ambiance of a Wal-Mart parking lot which is unfortunate given that we are in such a beautiful city. One perk is target and total wine are close by. Very disgusting breakfast situation with no attention to detail in terms of cleanliness....I refuse to eat the food and we have been eating out. There are very limited items in the room - strange no brand shampoo, conditioner, lotion with ONE itsy bitsy bar of soap. It's a joke. Like keep your prison soap I'm good. Housekeeper was nice and gave us additional towels. Had to literally beg the front desk to bring the baby crib. My husband called several times and also had sent a note prior to our arrival. There are a ton of hotels in Santa Fe and I don't know why this particular one is allowed to carry the Hilton brand. It sucks really - the two stars are because I would consider the 1 star to be like a bed bug infested hell hole and a 3 star to be a clean, friendly, well appointed Hampton Inn. This is definitely not a good representation of the brand. If we had been able to get out of our reservation we would have 100% moved hotels. I was even considering just paying to move and consider this a loss. My husband has asked around the ski hill and apparently the Hilton downtown is supposed to be good. Glad to know for next time as we are usually brand loyal. UPDATE : Upon check out we were double charged for our stay. Over $1000 in funds held from our account that we were not expecting. My husband called Hilton's corporate line and has filed an official complaint. We are diamond members and have been treated like absolute garbage by this hotel. In addition to the double charging the front desk rep threw the bill at my husband and was also seen chewing out other customers. This place is the absolute bottom of the brand. Avoid at all costs. We have officially switched our loyalty program to Marriott based off of this ridiculous experience. My husband travels every week for work and we will be spending that money elsewhere. read more

The front desk staff was very nice but there was a lot of issues when we checked in. First - the whole system was down so we were unable to get a key to our room and they had to come and open our door for us every time we left. (They were very fast and nice about it ) Hot tub was not working and was freezing cold , they tried to fix it but we got a refund and checked out before we could see if it worked. read more

Booked my spouse a Hilton property as I was in one across the country wrapping up some work to complete our journey to Diamond as we only need another 2 weeks. Lord beholds all hell broke loose. So, she is down there working, and the job requires invoices every week. So, she went to speak with front desk clerk Nikki, to figure out the best way to achieve this goal would be to reserve weekly within the pay period. Done. Nikki was absolutely wonderful, and I even spoke to her myself because I had an issue with an unauthorized charge on my card when she has a company card on file. I went into the app per usual and booked reservations all the way to September 7, 2024, and emailed her all the confirmations. Here is where it went 0-100. She returns from a hard day's labor, exhausted, drained, ready to shower and unwind. These impertinent ass people not only cancelled my reservation but had the audacity to go into our room, REMOVE PERONAL BELONGINGS from the room (of a paying guest and rewards member) and put her out her room. She returns and calls me to her disbelief to inform me. GM Steve Penhall tried to lie and say there was no reservation saying check your app. Knowing damn well they removed it. Then when we presented the CONFIRMATION and EMAIL he replied, "oh well we don't have rooms anyway" left to return to his office. The lack of empathy in this "managers" voice is incomprehensible. I cannot believe Hilton would employ someone in the hospitality industry who clearly does not care. This was not a mistake; it was deliberately done with malicious intent not once, not twice, but at least 5 times and counting to other guests and they all appeared to be black. I spent two sleepless nights here, the second (a few days later) only because I thought the first night was an anomaly. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, I expect better from Hampton Inns. Major Issue 1: As confirmed by the desk agent, ALL room temps are controlled by a thermostat that allows rooms to become hot and stuffy during the night unless motion is detected. As a result, temp rises up to 73+ all night, warmer than outside ( windows don't open). Major issue 2: Unless you are one of the first to grab breakfast, expect the dining area to be filthy. Tables aren't cleaned regularly, so you'll eat in someone else's mess. Lots of unsanitary issues in the breakfast room as well. Given what we were able to see, I doubt that rooms were "sanitized." Minor issue: No mention of my Hilton Honors membership was made upon arrival on either night. Absolutely no acknowledgement of my loyalty, no bottles of water, no cookies, not even a warm welcome. I complained to the desk agent, who offered me points, but points won't get my sleep back nor keep me healthy from Covid. Bottom line: avoid this hotel. There are better options nearby. read more

I was very pleased with my stay. The room was immaculately clean and sanitized upon check-in. The staff was masked up and made us feel very safe. The room had a very efficient AC unit and the bathroom/shower was very clean and worked well. This is a good spot to stay at when you're visiting Santa Fe. read more

Will update as my stay goes. We got here at 9:25 and the front door was locked. The sign on the door says the doors are locked at 9:30. It also says you can ring the front office. I rang, no one came. I called and called... and called, nothing. A guest was walking out and I walked in. No one was at the desk. I am still calling with no answer. Finally, 10 minutes later someone comes to the desk. I let her know, Melissa, what just happened and her response was "the doors lock at 9:30" I let her know again I was there at 9:25 and the doors were locked and no one was around. She said "there's a sign right here saying I'll be back"... remember I was locked out and was let in by a guest so I wouldn't see the sign. She never apologized, just asked for my last name, checked me in, and said "you are on the second floor, the elevator is around the corner." I have no idea what room number I was in as I was not told. I asked and she said "it's on your card".... no apology, cold, and not helpful.... as someone who works in hospitality, I would never treat anyone this way. I my employee was this they towards my guests, they would not be an employee of mine from that point forward. Remember, as an employee, you are the face of the company you work for. This doesn't not represent your company well at all. After being able to check in, we were able to walk around. We noticed the gym / fitness center. It is a very good one. Great equipment! No matter what workout you need or want, you have what you need! The room was great and clean. The beds were comfortable! The breakfast in the morning was good! Eggs, potatoes, and what seemed to be Kabasa. Cereal, yogurt, bagels, and waffles were there for your Picking. Unfortunately, the only staff that we had any interaction in was the night that we checked in, so I am unable to update staff interaction. read more

This is the worst Hilton I have stayed at in 2 decades of being an Honors member. I only stay in Hilton because of the points and will never stay here again. There is a hotel next door that will gladly take my money and not be rude and condescending. Not nearly enough parking for the guests and the employees park right up front. They tell you to park in the back but are not willing to do it themselves. Diamond member unwilling to stay here. Do better Hilton, this one is not good. read more

This hotel is the worst! I reserved a suite and gave it to someone else. Then the room they gave me had no working TV and the furniture TV wall unit was completely moved from the wall to the end of the bed. It was so heavy I couldn't move it. It was their last room available and I was there for 2 nights on business. Then they charged me 3 nights when I was there for 2. I called and was transferred to the manager. She told me someone would call me back tomorrow. This is where it gets good....The manager didn't hang up the phone. I could hear her coaching a new hire at the front desk to not transfer payment issues to her and to let them know that somebody else will be calling them tomorrow from AR (whatever that is). She then told her employee that in her opinion "they are all Karen's"!! OMG! Really? TC you are really a peach! read more

Not sure why such a low rating here I stayed a night here before my road trip home over the Christmas weekend and luckily this was the only Hilton or Marriot with any available rooms. This particular Hampton looks to have been remodeled recently as the entire place seemed brand new and refreshed. The rooms looked new and were clean, the extra-large showers were definitely a pleasant upgrade compared to the usual tub/showers you typically get at a Hampton. The bed was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Would definitely stay here again! read more

1 out of 4 floors had functioning ice machine. The woman who checked us in was clearly not happy tonight. She barely looked at me and when she did it was a glare. We are gold members and when I asked for water she looked at me like I'd asked for the moon and stars. The room was clean, but there was something stiff and sticky on the carpet. Wear shoes in the room. For the rates they are charging for this place you'd expect a working ice machine. We have stayed at a Hamptons somewhere in the USA 65 nights in 2023; while this one was definitely not the worst, the attitude of the front desk was the worst I've seen. read more

This hotel was pretty standard and had comfortable beds, newly decorated rooms, and took extra COVID19 precautions. We did have to wait 15 minutes or so for our room to be cleaned but that's pretty much on us for showing up early. It is conveniently located near quite a few restaurants and shops. read more

Made the mistake of staying here twice. I thought the first night was an anomaly, so gave it another try...... Wrong choice. During times of COVID--and even general every day hygiene--- I do not want to share other patron's germs. I mentioned the below items to the desk clerk at the time of my first stay. They were not rectified at the second stay. 1. I do not like to see unwrapped plastic spoons and forks placed handle side down. Plastic utensils at the breakfast bar were crammed into containers with the business end (spoon bowl and fork tines) up--which means that every previous person may have touched and/or coughed/sneezed on my utensil. 2. There was no place to fill a water bottle other than at a drinking fountain (yuck) or bathroom sinks (double yuck). There was no drinking water provided with disposable cups. 3. Please stop using "mini-moos"/ individual creamers . Too much plastic! I use at least 4 per cup of coffee!!! A container of 1/2 & 1/2 would be much more environmentally friendly. read more

My husband and I got in late 2 am on Wednesday and were tired from being on the road for 2 days , Armando was at the front desk and was just amazing, he was friendly and helpful got us checked in as quickly as possible , the lobby was clean and welcoming , the room was cozy and very clean , the bed was a little on the firm side for me but my husband loved it, we slept very good, all the staff were so friendly and wonderful breakfast was great , we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this place! DON'T BOTHER GOING TO HAMPTON INN. This is the worst hotel I have stayed at!!!! I'd rather stay at a motel. The dishonesty of the staff was the main bother. I left a bracelet and when calling to notify I was coming back to get it they claimed they did not have it without even checking for it since the rooms were not cleaned yet. Later I called again and the rooms were cleaned they claimed they never saw it. I'd also like to mention that I came across spiders in my room. The service of the staff was outrageously slow and they are not friendly at all. The room had an unpleasant scent. The breakfast was terrible and not fresh at all. Have always had good experience with Hampton Inn but this location is competing with Motel 6 for poor service. The facility is typical Hampton Inn quality, but now there is no daily room cleaning. Never experienced that with a full service hotel before. If you get Motel 6 service might as well stay at a Motel 6 for half the price. Very disappointing. And, I won't be coming back. Sad read more

Hotel management refused to accept my third-party reservation because they did not like giving commission to hotels.com, and I had to wait in the lobby for an hour and ultimately spend a bunch of time on the phone cancelling with the website and re-booking in person while my family waited in the car at midnight on a long car trip. After waiting 15 minutes to get check in with no one at the front desk until two employees walked in the front laughing we got checked in and got the mediocre room. Bed was okay. Bathroom was okay. Mountain View is a view of a parking lot. Not close to town. Breakfast included a water bottle, muffin wrapped in plastic wrap (who knows where it came from or what kind it was), a rotten orange, and a kids granola bar. I understand it's all they can do with Covid but I don't think a random muffin in plastic wrap is up to Covid procedures. Left the hotel to find out they charged me a smoke fee. My boyfriend and I don't smoke. I called and was told there was no manager at the time but I would get a call back. Never got a call back. Had to call myself on my vacation and again there was no manager around. Finally got a call back from LaMonica some "corporate" person who told me she was also staying the hotel and could smell it. Again we don't smoke so this was not possible. My boyfriend works for a cannabis company and was told that they would need to spend extra time cleaning the smell out. I am sure that they saw we were from Colorado and decided that they could get away with this. You won't charge a garbage man for his work clothes smelling up the room but maybe this hotel would. This lamonica lady tells me now they have to spend 1 hr cleaning the room instead of the normal 25mins. I don't work at a hotel or on the front lines during Covid but I am pretty positive they should be spending more than 25mins cleaning during a global pandemic. I wait another day to then hear back from some random person that they will still be charging me. DONT STAY HERE THEY WILL LIE AND RIP YOU OFF. read more
