This historic home is not your typical bed and breakfast, but has several rooms you can rent, we opted for the loft - a converted attic with two bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area. Upon arrival, you will enter from the rear of the property where the gravel parking lot is. The home is walking distance from Pies and Pints pizza. You may have to dodge a local cat that has associated itself with the home. Their website warns you that the loft has low ceilings and they were not kidding. At 6 feet, I had to duck in places and still knocked my head in others. The stairway is fairly daunting for taller persons maneuvering with luggage bc of the low ceiling and turn. The room was well apportioned and decorated with 3 full size beds, there was also a fold out bed in the closet but no bedding and it does not appear there is any staff on site. But I will say that they are attentive in their correspondence and provide contact numbers. I believe they would have responded if we needed them. The bathroom had curated local soaps and bath salts and a rainfall shower head. Towels were also of nice quality. The main bedroom that my wife and I shared had a single bed, sitting area with a French press and was well decorated. One of my fave touches were the valet trays on the bedside tables. Our room also had a sound machine. Our three kids shared the other bedroom which contained two beds and a roll out bed (no extra bedding though). This room also had a sound machine. The sitting area had a couch, TV and small refrigerator with food and drink you can purchase - we had to have a discussion with our kids about why they should not consume these items upon arrival. The breakfast part of the business is a pantry that is equipped with yogurt, lots of granola, fruit, juice, coffee and assorted cookies. Definitely a light breakfast but sufficient. Also, finding the nook can be a little difficult since you had to cross over the second floor and come down a separate stair case. Would totally recommend this location for a weekend getaway with your spouse, not sure I would bring my kids again.

We discovered it during a long, late-night trip, and when we arrived, we were greeted with genuine Southern hospitality. Even that late, they offered us a meal and got us checked in quickly. The rooms were very clean and stocked with all the amenities you could need. The river view is absolutely beautiful, and the whole area is peaceful and relaxing. For breakfast and dinner we ate at Tudor's Biscuit World and Gino's Pizza and Spaghetti House. Service was extremely fast, personnel were very friendly, and food was delicious. The gas heaters really worked well for the space. We turned them low during the first night and wished we hadn't, so just be aware it can get cold (in March) in the loft bedroom. We loved that the hot tub/porch faced the west so we could see a bit of the sunset as we soaked. There were enough towels, blankets, pillows, and silverware for the 2 of us, but if you did have 6 staying here, there might not be enough. A couple of small inconveniences were that the outdoor motion lights didn't work and the "supply" of hand soap in the bathroom was an almost empty bottle, so we had to venture out to get some. Otherwise, it was exactly what we needed/wanted - a nice, private space to enjoy the hot tub, play games, and lounge.

Just across the bridge from Fayetteville which has everything you need. Centrally located among an amazing amount of outdoor opportunities. The hostel is not staffed. You simply reserve on line and then receive an email with the door code. If you don't receive your email, call before you come or you may be sitting on the front porch for a while The hostel is neat and clean. Clean sheets on the bed. But towels are NOT included. Being your own. One of the fun parts about staying at a hostel is the interesting people you can meet. Usually it is a group of young people on an adventure. But it is a gamble. This time lost. I got Grandma and 4 kids age 7-15. Gma pumped them full of sugar. They were very loud & fought constantly. Gma yelled. So much for the relaxing part of my trip. This is why some hostels have an age restriction and why earplugs are mandatory. Overall it was a great place to stay. I would come again & would recommend it to my friends

This is a hostel indeed, $22.50/night all-inclusive. You book it via paypal after checking the online calendar. In my experience, I didn't see my reservation updated, so I called the listed number to confirm. You should know it's not your typical hostel in that there's not a "lobby" or typical reception area - it's more like a big guest-house - so it took a day or two for them to call me back and let me know that my reservation was confirmed. I arrived late on a Friday night - thankfully they gave me a passcode to get in the door, so there's no such thing as a late arrival cutoff. That said, I pulled up after 11pm to this dark, quiet space, no cars parked there, but a couple of guys across the street outside a building talking a little loudly to each other. The circumstances made me think for a moment, "Did I make the right move coming here?", but I had nothing to worry about. The hostel is huge, a living space that you walk into, with downstairs leading to a couple of shared bunk rooms and bathrooms. It turned out I wasn't alone, as there was one other guest who didn't have a car, but she stayed in one room and I the other, so we had our own rooms for our stay. The bunks are pretty small - if I was laying on my back and lifted my knees I'd hit the bottom of the top mattress - but it was comfortable and I slept well. The upstairs living space has some games and a kitchen with a stocked fridge, to the point that it looks like it may be the owner's personal fridge. I used it to store my water bottles, which was hopefully okay. Incidentally, you can see the whole breakdown of the place via a YouTube video the owner made. It's pretty much as advertised. I really didn't spend much time here beyond sleep, though - there's a veritable bounty of outdoor riches in this land, so I was out the door at 7am both mornings I was here. You can't get much more convenient than here - just north of the bridge. It was interesting that I never met the owner, but I did keep pretty odd hours and she did leave a friendly note for me at the door. I loved my whole weekend in the area, and of course I loved paying $45 for two nights - should I return to this area in the future, I'll stay here without question.

Then, the next day we have a Christmas dinner (the weekend before Christmas usually, so everyone can avoid traffic and/or be with their immediate families for Christmas day). The cabins are in a great location on the New River Gorge, and they are very clean and beautiful inside with plenty of amenities. It's WAY better than a hotel. They just feel so homey. And there are heated bathroom floors, hot tubs on the screen-in porches and a fully functional kitchen in each. Even cable and wi-fi! The only real downside to these cabins are the parking is almost nonexistent for each cabin, and also that some of them have fireplaces and some don't -- and one year we had a gas leak when we did get one. Yikes! Overall, these cabins are a great setting with very relaxing furniture and atmosphere. You're close to the Gorge and downtown Fayetteville. A win-win!
