This inn is nestled on top a mountain with beautiful views and settled away from all the hustle of surrounding towns yet it's still easily accessible from the interstate. There's also a very nice convenient store located on the property perfect for getting gas, snacks for your journey. They offer a beautiful lobby with a nice continental breakfast and even have other purchasable meals and items if you so happen to forget something for your trip. The Inn Manager Chantel addressed any concerns immediately, efficiently. She was very kind and personable. It was a joy just chatting with her. Thank you Chantel for making our stay a memorable one.

How did this place ever get a high rating? Okay, let's start with the positives: It's very clean,…read morethe view is lovely even though it's right off the highway, and the water tastes good. The negatives: it was $130 a night, the bed was broken, the internet sucks, there's nothing to eat anywhere near, and it is a clearly reviewed by the owners/staff because I just can't see how it was rated a 9 on Hotels.com. I love to find little mom and pop places, I dislike the big chains generally. To find one that was rated 9 was too good to pass up, even though it was a little pricey. But I just can't see how this place got such a great rating. The bed was broken for one. There's no elevator to the second floor, and when you are exhausted and carrying bags, then you have to climb stairs, ugh! You get to your room and try to find the next place you are headed, and the internet dies intermittently. So no streaming your own shows or anything, no gaming for the kids, it is even difficult to do your research on where you are staying next. The place is clean but bring your slippers, the room isn't carpeted. That makes it much easier for staff to clean up after people's pets, I suppose, and we had no allergic reactions which was nice. The little refrigerator is on the floor, and the microwave is on a TV dinner table which feels a bit wobbly. There's a little sign in the room telling you that any infractions of their policy will cost you $250 in cleaning fees. The room was very very noisy. There is a laundry room or an ice machine very near ours that made all kinds of noise all night long. And the racket off the highway was a constant but it is also a positive since it is so easy to get back on the road. Oh and the room door was sticking making it hard to open. They gave us a code to key into the room and when we keyed it in, we thought we did it wrong because the door wouldn't open. It kept telling us the code was good, but wouldn't let us in until we shoved hard.

We were impressed with all the complimentary snack offerings upon arrival. The beds were standard, comfy, and clean. We had a nice little mountain view and it was a cute area. The tub in the shower didn't have a drain plug and looked like it needed to be painted badly, and the water pressure was very weak, that was the only downside, but not a huge deal for an overnight. We'd definitely stay here again when in Princeton.

This trip was no different--after a seven-hour road trip, the four of us (plus my service dog) rolled in, dreaming of a quick swim and some relaxation. Spoiler alert: that dream died fast. We used the Hilton app to check in, but I went down to the desk for a second key so my husband and I could both access the room and amenities. I gave my room number, and--without asking for my name, ID, or even confirming I belonged there--the employee just handed me a key and said, "Have a good night." I'm sorry, WHAT? That's not customer service, that's a security disaster waiting to happen. We stayed in room 504, where we were greeted by a musty, dirty odor strong enough to knock you backward. The room looked like it hadn't seen a dust cloth in years. The bathtub? Absolutely disgusting. Several light bulbs were out. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, the whole place felt like a tropical rainforest with the humidity, and the Wi-Fi (which I need for my work as a REALTOR®) didn't connect at all. To top it off, the shower had no hot water, and by morning, I'd developed a sore throat. The pool was supposed to be our redemption moment. Instead, an interior light fixture came loose while my kids were in the water. We immediately got them out and told the staff. Two hours later, the pool was still open and people were still swimming like nothing happened. Because apparently, here, safety hazards double as "added ambiance." Then there's the "pet relief" area--a 5x5 patch of grass that looked like a landmine field of other dogs' poop, with shards of glass scattered throughout. The bag dispensers were empty, not that I didn't bring my own. My poor service dog deserves better than that. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, I spotted exposed wires on the 5th floor, seemingly connected to a security camera. Nothing says "welcome" quite like loose electrical wiring. The one and only pleasant surprise? Breakfast. It was actually good--shockingly good, given everything else. Unfortunately, one decent meal doesn't erase the fact that this stay was dirty, unsafe, uncomfortable, and far below the standard Hilton promises, especially for Diamond members.

Close to shopping, restaurants, but the view from our hotel room was a picturesque farm and countryside. Friendly staff. Thankful it was pet-friendly, and the cost for our pets wasn't exorbitant...it wasn't a "per night" cost that could add up quickly; rather, it was a flat cost. Definitely recommend.

Also nice to see normal sized shampoo, conditioner and body wash as I forget mine at home and those bitty bottles don't do nothing for a full grown anyone. I am BLOWN away that there is a dishwasher, full fridge instead of mini and a microwave along with a "kitchen sink" right in the hotel room also. AWESOME! Also the app to not only open all doors but also to get into the building. Talk about safety. I mean it's SUPER annoying when our phones always demagnetize our key cards so I luv it. Now for the downside... we found a stink bug in our room! Now how it got in here is the question. I mean coulda been worse and been a spider or bed bugs, but if I hadn't seen it on our window and again on a shelf well it coulda appeared anywhere while we were sleeping. Therefore I take off a star. Love everything ya got going on here buuuuut maybe try not to let bugs in the building lol Just a friendly suggestion UPDATE the bug came back OR it was the same one NOW dead bc for some reason my mom did not kill it before throwing it away. The Greenbrier - Cottage room 6466

    The Greenbrier

I want to preface this review by saying that we did not stay overnight in a room at The Greenbrier,…read morebut we did spend most of the day there, and I'm glad we did. When you pull in, you will be greeted by security at the front gate. We advised them we were there for the bunker tour and to do some shopping and they gave us a parking pass and directions to the best place to park. The resort is iconic, huge and pristine. We walked our dog around the grounds and up to the main building. Unfortunately, even though they say that the resort is dog friendly, there are some areas where dogs are not allowed. So I waited outside while my husband spoke to someone at the front desk about reserving a spot for the bunker tour. When he returned, I went inside while he stayed out front with our pup. When you walk in the decor hits you all at once and, if you are a Fallout fan like I am, everything just feels so familiar and comfortable. The bold, eccentric colors and patterns, the chandeliers and unique furniture... It's all there. I wandered through the shops which are upscale and fun to browse, even if you're just looking. I bought some giant macarons which were priced incredibly reasonably and really enjoyed them. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, and even without reservations, we were able to get tickets to the bunker tour. Be advised that they made it very clear to us that getting tickets "day of" is not the standard experience, so I do recommend reserving tickets if you want to do the tour. The vault tour itself is probably closer to four stars, but it's definitely a must. Knowing there was a fully built secret congressional bunker hidden underneath this glamorous resort for decades is wild. You walk through the old dorm rooms and meeting areas and see how it was all set up so long ago. You're not allowed to take any photographs, but I did read some basic information before coming. Still, reading about it and seeing it are two totally different things. It cost well over $100 for the two of us to do the tour and that is before tip so it definitely isn't cheap. It would have also been nice to have more seating, especially for things like watching the video, etc. My feet hurt a little after the tour from standing so long on the hard concrete floors of the bunker. The only reason that we did not end up spending the night is that we really wanted to be inside some of the main buildings and although they do offer dog friendly accommodations, they are only located within certain cottages kind of on the edges or outskirts of the property. There is also a $250 fee for dogs so we decided at the time that it would not be worth it for us, however, full disclosure: we regret that decision. We definitely should have spent the night. It was a once in a lifetime experience for me and if I ever get the chance to come back here I will definitely get a room and stay as long as I can, soaking up the ambiance and anemoia.

Slouchy couches, stained carpet pulling away from the walls. The cheapest daily rack rate on a weekday is a whopping $400+/night, not including all their BS fees: $49 daily resort fee per room and 9.75% Historic Preservation Fund, 6% sales tax. SO NOT WORTH IT! Seriously, I get keeping the iconic Draper theme, but you gotta upkeep everything to warrant that price! I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference, and had multiple interactions with staff from calling to make reservations for activities, the bunker tour, dinner at the main dining room, bowling and the conference room facilities. Customer service ranged here from very nice, cheerful and helpful to unaccommodating, aloof, and just plain rude. When asked questions about the facility or amenities, the staff would often give me blank stares or just shrug and say they didn't know. I was checked in by a trainee who did not give any direction on how to get to my room in the BOONIES (Copeland Hills) and we drove around aimlessly until we gave up and went back to valet to get directions. When I asked if I could be in the main hotel with my coworker at check in, another snooty employee (senior or the trainer, I dunno) blatantly said "no, your group is assigned to the cottages", which was 100% a lie because my coworker simultaneously checked in with another trainee and was given a room in the main hotel. The next day, a second coworker was also given a room in the main hotel. They both complained their rooms were creepy feeling, dirty and in need of some major renovations. So I guess depending on how you look at it, I had it better since my cottage in the boonies wasn't as old and was in pretty good shape. The wait staff at the conference was too efficient! I left my untouched dessert literally for a few minutes at my seat and when I returned it was gone! My fiancé did the bunker tour and the bourbon tasting. He was the only one at the bourbon tasting at 5:00pm and no one showed up for the 6:00pm either. At the end, he was given a non itemized bill for $88 (the base price was $65) and then he tipped on top of the $88 thinking that was the base rate! Clearly the astronomical service fees were already embedded in there. Throughout our stay, we wondered where everyone was. Despite being reservation only, the main dining room was at best 25% full when we were there on a Friday night. Everywhere we went: basically empty. The many random sitting rooms, the restaurants, the casino, the bowling alley, indoor pool, the bars. The only activity that had a decent amount of people was the bunker tour. There were many private events we saw set up everywhere though, and our conference alone was about 300. So maybe that's their thing. My coworkers had mini fridges in their room in the main hotel, my room in the cottages did not. My coworker called room service for ice (there are no self service ice machines) and it was delivered 2 hours later when she was sleeping. The room service delivery fee is $5 for the main hotel, but $20 for my cottage in the boonies. Why do I have to pay 4x in delivery fees when I asked to be in the main hotel to begin with? Ridiculous. The Greenbrier is old and busted and riding on the "historic" factor to draw in guests. If I stayed here for leisure and paid for this out of my own pocket, I would be even more pissed.
