Minor issues, mainly involving the kids, running up and down the hallway, rushing into the elevator as i was trying to get off with my bags, making multiple trips to breakfast, yelling, and fighting over Mountain Dew, as if they needed caffeine. Customer service is hit and miss based on who you interact with but it was a good stay and no real complaints. Overall a good stay and I would definitely stay here again and would recommend the hotel if in the area. Upon check-in there was no acknowledgement or thanks for being a member of Hilton Honors. The Hilton Hotels are usually on top of this. Regardless of status level other hotels are great at acknowledging and expressing appreciation. We were offered a snack and a bottled water though. During the stay the staff did a good job managing the craziness of tons of kids in the hotel running around. I think there was some kind of sporting match. The kids destroyed breakfast but the staff kept up and reset quickly. I was impressed. Most of the overall staff were exceptional and some were mediocre. Sunday night the front desk clerk hid out in the office and was never stationed out front. The rest of the stay the front desk was fantastic. In regards to COVID safety, I don't believe I saw one employee wearing a mask the entire stay. It appeared to be a Toledo Ohio thing as that region was lacking masks in restaurants and other venues too but with Hilton Standards it would have thought the hotel would have been better. The Hotel is clean and the room was spacious. The beds were really comfortable but the walls were a little thin and you could hear the TV and neighborhoods in their bathroom. I did notice a lot of little things like no conditioner in the room and the white bathroom walls were slightly dirty and could have used some bleach. The hotel has some slight wear and tear but was really nice and I am just being overly picky. The hotel has all the comforts starting with a guest laundry room on the second floor. There is an indoor pool and whirlpool. There is a little business center, fitness center, and snack shop. I thought the price point was a little high but good area and an exit or two away from downtown. I needed a late checkout Monday and the manager (Andy) was more than accommodating. It helped to take some stress away from a late morning/early afternoon virtual meeting I needed to attend. That was the only time during the stay that I really felt the value of being a Hilton Honors member but that was never acknowledged. Not sure it needed to be but the courtesy and professionalism of that made the stay. Oh, and I will close the review out by saying they have the nicest stairways I have ever seen. We would totally stay here again. We came down from Michigan for the eclipse and while I think they charged a bit more than normal, they didn't gouge on the price like so many other places and was still affordable. Every staff member we encountered was just lovely from housekeeping to front desk. They were all friendly and helpful and some went out of their way to pay attention to our situation (a family emergency) and offer additional assistance. In addition the repor between staff members was friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy working together. They were very accommodating to pets and seemed to love getting to know them and interact with them. You got the feel that this was a nice place for them to work. Having spent my 20's working in hotels, you know a thing or two about a thing or two! The breakfast offerings were more than abundant and actually very good! The attendant was very good at keeping things full and clean and remained friendly during the busiest breakfast room I have ever seen! It was chaotic and full of kids running around and so many people and she was just great! The hotel was very clean, the pool didn't oversmell of chlorine and I really loved the rose scented hand soap in the lobby bathroom! The few things that we didn't like were the barn doors on the bathrooms in the room. It's not very comfortable using a bathroom in close quarters anyway, now throw in a door that is open on all four sides, is a hassle to open and close and since it is both the closet door and the bathroom door, depending on which side it is used on, well it's just not convenient. I would not feel comfortable if I were a business traveler and had to share a room with a colleague under these circumstances. Also the placement of the shower safety bar and stationary soap/shampoo/conditioner is right in the way while you are showering and you hit your elbow on them all the time. But these are things that are now built in and cannot easily be changed but just for the record, they are not very user friendly. The other things that weren't great was in a room with two beds, designed for four people, only three pillows per bed, not four...which is weird, and three towels in the bathroom. it's understandable if they are trying to keep laundry down but at minimum, if you know four guests are checking in, it would be nice to have enough things to accommodate them all. Also, the Travelocity link was broken to leave a review and there didn't seem to be a place to leave one on the website so I had to leave it here and hope they find it. Staying at this Hampton as my Marriott is booked solid. The hotel is okay but I have to say I am a little surprised. The staff must be wearing dual hats or super busy as I stood at the desk doe more than 5 and then sat in a chair and watched and no one came out. Three people walked in through front door and walked into hotel and still nothing. A little concerning in today's world and security. Also, I noticed pieces of the elevator are being held together with black duct tape! Yes...duct tape. read more

We arrived 15 minutes later he quickly got us checked in. The room was quite nice bed was comfortable and room was clean. I had been traveling throughout the midwest and stayed at this Hampton Inn on my way back to Virginia -- this was a last-minute reservation. The check-in went smoothly, the room was very nice, and the breakfast was a huge surprise -- a full breakfast! As a single woman traveling by myself I felt safe as I made my way back and forth to the parking lot several times and up to my room. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

I try to stay at Hampton Inns while traveling when possible, and this one did not disappoint. I booked using the Hilton Honors app for the first time and loved everything about the process. I got the room I wanted for a great price with no hassle at check-in or check-out. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, as expected. The only thing I didn't love was the generals location. We were in town to go to a comedy show at Funny Bone and we spent quite a bit on Lyft rides to and from the venue. Next time, we will probably book at the Hilton Garden Inn that is right across the street from the comedy venue. read more

Travelled in for a conference at Maumee Bay, but the resort was overbooked so I got a room at the Hampton Inn. I must admit that the hotel was in a gritty part of Toledo, on a 4+ plus retail strip with subpar businesses and no name stores. There's a big sign in the parking lot that states that auto theft is not the responsibility of the hotel. The hotel backs up to a residential area, so I'm not sure if that is part of the reason for car break ins. Once I walked in though, I must say that the hotel was very nice and modern. It looked like it had recently been updated. The check in process was smooth and there weren't any issues with my room. Breakfast was setup and plentiful, and coffee was hot and readily available all throughout the day. read more

one star because It won't let you post without one. But really giving negative stars. I'm very upset with this hotel and the customer service. I made a reservation for this hotel back on 5/19/22 for $400 a night insane! I was coming out there for a funeral so my head wasn't all there. when I made this reservation as I was coming from another state, my family that lives in Ohio gave me this hotel but quickly realized it was the wrong one. I was supposed to stay in North Toledo at a Hampton property. not this location, so I turned around and canceled the reservation 20 minutes of making it. after I canceled it that's when I seen there was no refund. I called customer service that they would have to look into it to see if they can give me a refund or credit. Never called me back after they said it would take at least 4 business days. NEVER called me back, I had to call them. I told them I did not want a full refund I just wanted either a credit or for them to cover for the other hotel and then just give me a partial credit back or a partial credit for another stay. I wasn't looking for all my money back. they told me there was nothing they can do because it's policy. That's BS! They wouldn't even just transfer my Reservation to the other location and just cover that cost. Nothing! So I'm out over $600 ( what I was charged plus the other hotel) Pretty sad! bad customer service this is ridiculous it's not like I canceled my reservation two months later after I made it. I canceled it within 20 minutes. pretty sad for a multi million dollar corporation that they didn't care that I still booked with their company just at another location. Yes it was my fault that I didn't see the fine print but like I said I was frazzled try to make funeral arrangements from out of town for a family member that just passed away. pretty sad customer service in my opinion. Stayed at this hotel while on business in Oregon. Rooms are HUGE and nice for a Hampton Inn. Really felt modern with nice fixtures and a comfortable bed. Also has great facilities, including an indoor pool and whirlpool as well as a small fitness center. Sort of a strange location behind a Sonics, but relatively convenient if you are working in Oregon. Staff was also quite friendly. Only downside I noted was that the breakfast seemed a bit small / light for a Hampton Inn. Was mostly the standard fare, but just seemed to be a bit light on pastries, cereals, etc. Would stay here again (think it is better than the Holiday Inn Express across the street). read more

I stayed in a nice, big, clean comfortable room with a very modern feel. The large windows allowed for a nice amount of natural light. The bed was very comfortable, even the room's couch was comfy! A great feature to the room were the outlet / usb stations. 2 separate, well placed stations with 2 outlets and 2 USB ports each. There are many other outlets placed well around the room. Very convenient for a business traveler. Everything is the hotel looks brand new. My only negative would be the room views. My room had a direct view into at least 4 backyards of neighboring houses. read more
